Villus Griffin-Jones (NOT self-approved)

Alright, so I lied. This is my final BA character. But unlike my last ones, I’m going to let somebody else comment and approve it... I’m going for a less power oriented guy, such as Terrin (even though he will remain my primary tool) and my mind sort of went into overdrive when I thought about kangaroo’s. o.o Nuts how brains work, isn’t it? Anyway, enjoy my new and original character.

Name: Villus Griffin-Jones (AKA: The Aussie Assassin)

Age: 46 (although he looks to be about 33)

Race: Half human, half kangaroo (yes, you heard correct).

Sex: Male

Hair: Dark brown, curly, eye level.

Eyes: All black pupils and iris’, it gives off a frightening appearance for those who have never seen a half kangaroo.

Weight: Unknown

Height: Unknown, although tall, if anything.

Weapon: An odd machine gun from his time, which is in the far and grim future of planet Earth. Not many know what the gun is, not even Villus. He found it when he was only 18 years old. It is jet black, with an odd sort of round protrusion on the bottom of the barrel, although it never runs out of bullets for some odd, unexplained reason. He calls it Kashnov. That is his primary tool for great escapades and raids, although he is proficient with his wooden sword, which is partial for close range fighting. Aside from all this, he is also very well trained in hand-to-hand combat.

Armor: None but his own clothes.

Strengths: Being part kangaroo, he is unnaturally fast, swift, and nimble. He can jump three times as high as a normal human, can scale any surface in seconds, and at the same time, is very strong. He is extremely adept at firing with his Kashnov gun, and fighting with his wooden sword.

Weakness: He has a gambling problem, which stems from long years in both Las Vegas and California. He had long years full of alcohol, which also gives him problem when the reprimands get back to him, and he can sometimes be too quick to act, which has nearly gotten him killed on several occasions. He is also easily manipulated, and sometimes gets confused when dealing with other cultures.

Skills/Magic: Kashnov and sword. No magic.

Personality: He always seems to have a smile on his face, for he likes to be optomistic, even though half of his life he lived in a wasteland run by a psychotic government. He is very charming, women are drawn to him like moth’s to a porch light. He is a smooth and snappy talker, which sometimes earns him respect... and other times, more enemies. But overall, he's a sweet guy.

Appearance: Villus has rude five o’clock shadow, but he likes the look himself. Most of the time he is wearing an odd cowboy hat, and sunglasses, but not when he is fighting... usually. Villus has dark tanned skin naturally, from his parents and their parents being under the hot desert sun for so long. He is tall and muscular, with completely black eyes, as already said, usually wearing jeans, and a lime green trench coat with a black undershirt. He has brown hair, slightly curly, always silky. Perfect teeth. He likes looking good, despite his choice of clothing.

History: Born of two modern parents, he was brought up in California (although born in Australia), but it is nothing like it was back in the 2000’s. He was born in the precise year of 6074, long after the great struggle when the entire Earth was taken by the violent and barbaric, yet powerful Combine, who overthrew the government and turned the Earth surface into psychotic anarchy and chaos. The economy collapsed within months, and within mere years, the Earth was transformed into a desert wasteland, where the inhabitants were forced to scrounge for food in the heat, while the Combine sat in the twelve Citadels they had erected around the continents and got fat from the labors of the people, charging outrageous taxes that everybody was forced to pay... and if they did not, they were slaughtered brutally, with their entire family. In that time, the Combine took up their ridiculous expiriments on innocent civilians. They mated human and kangaroo, beforehand injecting the kangaroo’s with slight human DNA, which melded both races together. Villus’s parents were victims in that situation, but they married even after this terrible invasion of privacy, and concieved Villus, thus transferring kangaroo attributes into him. He was raised in California, but at age 17, after learning how to hunt, moved with his parents to Las Vegas, one of the last big cities on the entire planet, where he took up a life of gambling, sex, drugs, and crime. His parents did not stay with him long in that city, they got their own place away from him, although it did not bother him much. He was always a bit of a loner himself.

While in Vegas, Villus found his Kashnov out on the streets, and carved a wooden sword for no real reason, training himself with it and martial arts. He got in and out of minimal drug habits, and became a very big ladies man, but after over twelve years, he began to see for the first time, the true evil extent of the Combine. So after much thought, armed with his Kashnov and sword, he set out to the nearest Combine Citadel, which was only a few miles away from Las Vegas itself. Singlehandedly, he took it down, using the Kashnov as his primary weapon. Most of the Combine in the Citadel didn’t get close enough for him to use his sword. He started from the bottom, making his way up slowly but surely, in which time he found many interesting artifacts and control rooms that showed many places he had never heard of, or learned of on Earth. He became interested in the true motives of the Combine, and wrestled out many answers from a soldier who he captured and trapped in a small room near the very top of the Citadel. He found out that there was something in the highest room, called the Hole, which the Combine had discovered many years before he was born. He learned that they had seen it as a possible threat to their reign, and so had built the Citadel over it, to conceal it from the public. Aside from that, Villus could not force anything else out of him, so he killed him.

When he finally fought his way to the top after many bloody and gruesome shootouts, he found himself in the top room, with a huge portal of sorts in front of him, taking up the majority of the room. It was swirling grayness, that cast bright lights everywhere around the room. It moved so fast within, that it made him dizzy just glancing at it. It emitted a high pitched noise that he could not stand, but he found himself instead drawn not to the Hole, which it indeed was, but to the monitors to the left side of the room, where he saw someone had called in military Combine from around the surrounding area to come and take back the Citadel. He knew he could not escape the tower before they got to him, and he could not take that many Combine on by himself. So his only choice, obviously, was to launch himself into the Hole, which he did, having no idea what would befall him.

It spat him out into an alien fortress, a different planet or dimension, full of a hostile species that seemed to have very advanced technology. They looked like black skinned miniature elephants, except they had no trunk, had real hands, and could talk. They were extremely powerful and intelligent, and he was immediately thrown into jail, stripped of all his weapons. He was met by several Combine soldiers, who had similarly been captured. He snapped each one of their necks out of pure, deep seated hatred.

He stayed in that jail cell next to the dead bodies for four long days, being fed minimally by the savage legions, until he finally decided to hatch a plan to escape. Using some of the repulsive dry blood of the dead Combine soldiers, he sprinkled himself in it and lay face down on the floor, playing dead. As soon as he heard the door to the cell open, he seized his chance, leapt up, and strangled the legion before it could call for help. Then he used some surprisingly skilled stealth, and snuck about the fortress he had been dumped in from the Hole, found his Kashnov and sword, then used both those weapons to escape the fortress. Once free of the place, he hotwired the first car he could find, and drove out of the land. To this day, he has avoided that place at all costs, finding his way to different planets and lands, taking down Combine soldiers and other evils such as mob bosses where he finds them. He still vows to himself that one day he will return and free Earth from the Combine’s iron hard grip of terror. And to think that he stayed positive throughout all of this...
