Salis Enuen

Name: Salis X (His last name is truly Enuen, but since his is trait to leave a black X on the left cheek of his victims he’s slain, he’s earned the last/nick name ‘X’) Pronounced: Say-Lis En-U-En

Age: 17

Race: Half-Demon: A Human/Demon hybrid who either tries to harness or ignore their Demon powers, sometimes using them for good, sometimes for evil. Silas was chosen to wield what is called the Devil Bringer, which harnesses a locked power. When the power is unlocked, their inner Demon takes over, giving them strength and control over its power.

Sex: Male

Hair: Silver, running to his shoulders in a loose ponytail type style. Bangs cover barely around his eyes, splitting down the middle.

Eyes: Blue

Weight: 204 lbs. 2 oz.

Height: 6' 0"

Weapon: Salis' left hand harnesses a locked power that has been passed down through Half-Demons for centuries. His hand is a black and gold color, with fingers tapering like a pencil. He can lift anything under 600 lbs, as well as harness small bursts of magic. People in his small village call his hand a curse, scorning him for carrying the "Devil Bringer" into the peaceful land.
He also carries with him a bow, using spirit energy to form an arrow to pin human opponents to surfaces, but not hurt them unless they harm him. The arrow hurts a full Demon, causing bleeding and scarring to the wound.
Salis’ last weapon is an ancient sword he found and stole from the museum in Arydia, called Cyn, or the ‘Angel buster’. The blade is magically infused, responding to his thoughts easily. The hilt is a forest green, with the 3.5 foot long blade tapering slightly to the tip. A criss-cross X pattern makes its way from his hilt to his blade, stopping when the sword stops. The X’s glow gold when he uses power, and if he were to unlock his demon form, the steel would fade to nothing but black, like his soul.

Armor: The Half-Demon doesn’t wear much armor for fear of slowing in battle. All he wears is a cloak which helps him to hide his cursed limb from the villagers and people from other towns and countries. To hide it even farther Salis wears a glove that reaches his upper elbow on his left arm. It protects the Devil Bringer from harm when Pure Demons come into the vicinity.

Strengths: Salis was born with natural strength and street smarts, his parents helping him throughout the years. He can lift objects up to half a ton, run slightly faster than the normal human, and heal miraculously fast. Silas knows a good deal about both Humans and Demons, trying to learn both histories of the two races.
He can tend to keep a level head about him when in a formal fight, but as soon as it gets out of hand, Salis will lose his temper and begin to let his Demon half show, sometimes making his power grow in the wrong ways. More often than not he will absorb just a bit of the powers of his opponents, using their own attacks against them, but with his Demonic energy. He is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit, or down to -150 degrees Fahrenheit.

Weaknesses: Salis has much strength, but his weaknesses are equally matched. The half demon is almost always in a sarcastic mood, and always either wants to fight or study [his opponents], which will sometimes cause a few blows to himself for however long he chooses to study. If his Devil Trigger is active, he almost always drains his energy to nothing, incapacitating him for up to half a minute, give or take a few seconds on the amount of energy used.
The Half-Demon refuses to harm innocent people, choosing instead to enhance his energies by helping any endangered Humans, or other Half-Demons. Silas keeps his Demon Arm covered with a glove that reaches almost the entire length of his left arm, stopping just short of his biceps. If he takes his glove off or it is torn off, more often than not the Humans will begin to panic, which causes him to try and defend himself from their blows.

Skills/Magic: The Half-Demon was born with natural magic skills, able to manipulate the magical air around him to do almost anything he wants, save for automatically killing an enemy. Salis’ main magical study is Dark Magic, which is not limited to mastering a few Fire Magics.

Dark Reflection: A mirror of pure ice will form in front of the Half-Demon, showing himself in a fighting stance. With a flick of his wrist, Dark Energy is imbued in his reflection, the “Dark Salis” (a mirror clone) exiting the portal. The clone will give Salis energy to replenish his lost magic power or energy, or will begin fighting the opponent while he tries to replenish his own.

Fire Wheel: His second most powerful attack, but it drains him to the point of passing out. A wall of fire surrounds both his opponent and himself, slowly closing in. The ‘roof’ is made of fire as well, to prevent any escape, but if the opponent(s) can teleport, it almost makes the move useless. If the enemy is holding on to him, or vise versa, then the attack follows, searing both of them.

Appearance: Salis is a tall young man from the country of Arydia, known for its ancient customs. He’s well tanned, and stands at 6 feet even. Salis was born with naturally Silver hair, and has let it grow down to his mid back, much like his father did. He wears a pair of glasses to help him read for long periods of time, but they’re mostly for style. Behind the small reading spectacles are Sapphire Blue eyes. Included on his face from just under his eyes to each of his cheeks (at the end of his nose) are two tear drop spirals, also called the Demon Mark, or Demon Hunter mark. The marks glow when a Demon Hunter is near, signaling for them to find him.

Over everything the Half-Demon wears a black cloak to help hide his arm from weary eyes, elegant inscriptions lining the edge of the silk. Under the cloak or when not wearing it is always a pair of black and mud brown combat boots, stained with years of wear and tear. He wears a traditional black and gold Chinese outfit. Salis generally slings his sheath around his waist, letting it hang loosely yet snug as not to lose his blade. To complete his look, the Half-Demon straps a half breast plate across his right chest area, the steel gleaming a cold black and gold with his clan’s Dragon symbol painted on.

Personality: For most of his life, Salis was the outcast; the loner. The title grew on him as he grew, the village children and adults shunning him from their homes and schools. He can be cold-hearted at times, and rarely speaks to his allies, much less his enemies. The Half-Demon enjoys tuning his skills with his Demonic side, trying to master and unlock the power in his left arm. He loves to fight, so long as the other person is willing to, or he is attacked.

Salis was taught at a young age that his soul would determine if his Demon side took over, or his Human side would. He tries his best to keep both sides balanced, but his quick temper can sometimes get the best of him, making his power grow in the negative direction.

Biography: “Congratulations, it’s a baby boy.” The doctors and nurses in the room were smiling nervously, their eyes shifting from one another as the head doctor approached the woman on the bed. She smiled slightly, her tired eyes taking in the sight of the whimpering baby in his hands. She took the small child from his hands, holding him close to herself.

“What should we name him,” questioned the man in the corner, standing and walking over to his wife.

She looked up as a button on the bed slowly lifted the newborn and her, thinking for a few moments. “Salis.” She slowly unraveled the cloth on his left hand, the doctor suddenly shooing the nurses from their place beside the bed. A look of pure horror crossed her face for a moment, the father only smirking. “What….What’s wrong with his hand?! Morgan… What’s wrong?!”

“Nothing is wrong Jayna, it’s just his hand. It’s normal.” A soft light engulfed his hand, a black and gold arm flexing in its place. “It’s normal for a Half-Demon.”

---Ooo…ooo---ooo…ooo---ooo…ooo---ooo…ooo---ooo…ooO---

The young boy rose wearily to his alarm clock, yawning and rubbing his tired eyes. He walked into his bathroom and began brushing his teeth, looking at himself in the foggy mirror. Silver hair hung in knotted bunches down to his shoulders, blue eyes shielded by stray strands. He brushed the knots out slowly and turned the water on in the shower, stepping in quickly.

“Salis, hurry up dear! School starts in an hour!”

At that tone, Salis washed out any loose knots in his hair and scrubbed his face and neck. He jumped out and got dressed, the golden strings of his shirt fading into the black. A small glove lay on the counter, a gift from his mother. Salis quickly slipped it on, the black and gold pattern reaching up to his shoulder.

Salis dashed down the stairs, plopping into his seat and voraciously attacking the pancakes on the plate in front of him.

“Whoa now little guy, don’t eat so fast.” Morgan walked into the room kneeling beside his son. “Take smaller bites, so you don’t choke on those things.” The little one nodded and cut a smaller bit out of his last pancake, taking it into his mouth and chewing slowly.

“Dad… Why do I have to wear this glove? It itches… Can’t the other kids just accept that there are Demons and Half-Demons around them?”

He shook his head, ruffling the small cowlick on Salis’ head. “It’s not that simple little guy. Most Humans don’t know about us. Your mother knows because of the night you were born, and your grandparents on her side don’t know at all. Now, go and grab your backpack, and get ready for high school.”

---Ooo…ooo---ooo…ooo---ooo…ooo---ooo…ooo---ooo…ooO---

“Salis? Salis Enuen?” The teacher’s voice rose above the chattering students, Salis raising his Human hand reluctantly. “Class, we have a new student. Please welcome him accordingly to our 10th grade class. Salis, please introduce yourself.”

He slowly stood, head bowed slightly as he began reciting the story his parents told him to tell the class. “I-I’m Salis, and I came from Torame…” An astonished gasp came from the students, murmurs of distance and the amount of tales of demons in that country arising.

“Settle down now!”

“I-I lived there until this year, and I just moved to a new house down the street… I keep good grades, and I try to help people as much as possible. I’m silent most of the time, and I dislike when people try to harm others…”

He breezed through the next year, most teachers liking him automatically. During lunch one day, Salis slowly took a sandwich from his bag, downing it like there was no tomorrow. A soft sound of somebody sitting beside him made him turn, eyes a bit wary of the new person.

“The new kid eh? What’s a freak like you doing in Riva?”

“Living here.” Salis smirked, taking a second sandwich out of his bag. The boy beside him slapped it from his hand, face contorted into a frown.

“You don’t speak like that to me, freak. And what’s the deal with that glove? Got something to hide from us?” By that time, a whole group of kids had circled the table, no teachers visible in the room.

“Not something you’d want to see. Now, can I finish my lunch?”

“Hey! Don’t talk like that to your upperclassmen!” Random shouting filled the room, Salis being one of the few 11th graders in second lunch. He stood and stretched a bit, turning to the person who began the scuffle.

“If you want to see, go ahead. But I warn you; you asked for it. I am not held responsible for anything.” He held his gloved left hand out, small creases lining it from the months of slipping it on and off.

“My pleasure.” The boy jerked the glove off, Salis wincing a bit as the fabric tore against his elbow, the black and gold arm gleaming in the sunlight. Cries from the other students filled the warm Spring air, the Senior standing like a statue. “You… You truly are a freak!” Everything went black as he suddenly fell, a girl holding a brick standing above him.
“It seems that we found the Demon responsible for many of the terrified people in this town. Teresa, Mora, you know what to do.” The command of the girl sent two others into action, clearing the students from the vicinity as Salis stood wearily, feeling the back of his head with his hand. “I have one question to ask you, Demon: Who do you serve?”

He shook his head, blinking a couple of times as he settled into a battle stance. “One, I’m a Half-Demon. Half. Second, I don’t serve anybody.” A smirk formed on the Hunter’s face, drawing a dagger from a hidden sheathe on her leg.

“That’s too bad. If you served a High Demon, they would probably be able to save you right now. Goodbye, parasite.” The commander lunged for Salis, ripping his shirt and drawing a thin line of blood from his chest. He gasped, feeling where the Hunter’d hit. Only a small line of blood trickled, but his chest felt like it was on fire.

Probably from the magic in the metal… Remember, these are Demon Hunters you’re dealing with. Not ordinary Humans. Sometimes his father could be so annoying… but he was right. Salis stood straight, ignoring the flaming wound. He charged and easily overpowered the girl, pinning her down completely.

“You can’t hurt me, you leech!” The booming voice from under him bellowed, kicking him off with ease. Salis slowly stood, taking a breath as the small lesion healed instantly.

“It may be true for many people, but I’m no ordinary Demon.” A gold and black sword materialized in his left hand, the metal reflecting black onto the white cement. “So long as I can keep you at bay, I’m good.”

Soon, the whole lunchroom was alight with the clashing of blades, both students copying the others' moves with extreme ease. Salis held his blade up, letting the energies from each of the students fill it, all Human witnesses now out cold. "It is better they do not see who wins and who loses."

The other nodded, brandishing her blade with both hands. "So long as you die, I am fine." In the blink of an eye, a couple of swirling cuts of different lengths appeared under Salis' eyes, reaching to his cheeks; the mark of the Demon Slayer. He drew back instinctively, both eyes closed from the pain. Salis forced the girl back and began to run, far from the school and his home. If his parents found out he'd been marked, they'd disown him instantly. I have to get out of Arydia, and fast...

Re: Salis Enuen

Alright, it's very good except for one thing. The bio ends a bit too abruptly, could you maybe add to it a bit leading up to what he's doing now?

Also, you got the idea from Nero, didn't you?
