Charles Demont
Name: Charles Montgomery Demont
Age/DOB: 23 (currently year 1944); April 6th, 1921 Race: Human Sex: Male Eyes: Brown Hair: Black Height/Weight: 5’11, 181 lbs. Appearance: He never allows himself to be seen in public without his black suit with white pinstripes. He wears a red tie, a black oxford shirt, and a fedora with the same pattern as the suit. Black wingtip shoes are often replaced with black steel-toe boots for the sake of practicality in harsher situations, such as combat or espionage. His skin is a lighter shade of Caucasian, and his face typically has the five-o’clock shadow of someone who is too busy to shave every day. His hair, beneath his fedora, is often combed into a businesslike comb-over. He can be considered a charmer simply by his suave appearance, Weapons: --Kar 98k-- Bolt action rifle, loads five rounds --Springfield-- Bolt action rifle, scoped, loads six rounds --M1 Carbine-- Semiautomatic, loads an eight-round clip --.38 Revolver-- Semiautomatic, loads six rounds --Colt .45 Pistol-- Semiautomatic, loads nine rounds --Thompson SMG-- Automatic, high rate of fire, loads one hundred-round cylinder magazine --MP40-- Automatic, medium rate of fire, loads sixty-round dual magazine --Switchblade-- 8" overall, 4" blade, 4" handle Strengths: Charles is a trick shot and a well-trained physical combatant. His martial arts skills are adequate, but he truly excels at close quarter combat using rifles, both with and without affixed bayonets. His redeeming quality to to his weaknesses is his agility; his slender body is rather flexible, sometimes even more flexible than his suit. This allows him to achieve a level of maneuverability that is likely to be unexpected by his foes. As an excellent shot, he is able to hold his own as a support gunmen or as a leader, and his capability for hand-to-hand or other close-combat situations make are part of what made him who he is in the underworld of Chicago. Weaknesses: His greatest weakness is preparation. He has always been the type to take life as it comes, and never truly prepares for anything but the most major events. For a fight, it is very likely that an enemy with a trick up his sleeve will take Charles completely off-guard. For this reason, he prefers to stay ranged, knowing that if the enemy were to surprise him with a hidden weapon at close quarters, it could spell disaster before he was even alerted to the trickery. Although his reaction time is quite good, as he is normally very aware of his surroundings, his physical strength is rather slim. His body type limits him in his physical ability; he is slender, rather well-defined, but still small. Anyone of larger size could likely overpower him in physical combat. His speed is better than average, but not spectacular; he could be bested in speed by someone such as a master of a martial art. He is very agile, but if his escapes are expected, one could easily exploit his other weaknesses to stop him. He may be quick to the escape, but if he faces a stronger, faster, trickier foe, it may not be enough to save him. Also note that, because he is a simple human, and possesses no armor or any such thing, any simple weapon can best him; his best chance is to use his strengths to prevent such a thing. Personality: Overall, Charles prefers to be alone, unless outnumbered. When in combat situations, he knows of strength in numbers, but he also believes that having companions can lead to a false sense of security in a fight. This comes from his notion that trusting anyone with anything is foolishness. A certain degree of trust must be warranted to one’s companions in combat, but he ensures that he gives them only the most miniscule amount of trust, so that he is not surprised when betrayed. It has happened many times before, and because of it, he had learned to expect it. When it happens again, it will the be the one surprise he is expecting. Romantically, the suave edge Charles has over some other men dies when a woman truly gets to know him. He considers himself, as do some of the women of his past, entirely inadequate. His trust issues make it difficult for a woman to be close to him, and because of his career and lifestyle, the women he dates often find little reason to stay with him. Because of his high attractiveness and his low capability for keeping a woman, he moves around a lot in relationships, but it is certainly not his choice. Like many men, he simply has yet to find the woman that truly understands him. Although he would be happy to find her, he considers himself far to busy to look for her. In his opinion, it is better for her to find him. He hates all forms of addictive substances. Mind altering forms, such as alcohol and drugs, appear as a weakness to him, able to be exploited. If an enemy attacks while he is intoxicated in some way, he is sure to be killed. Tobacco products never truly appealed to him otherwise, and so he has chosen to heed the Surgeon General’s warning. Skills: --American Police Training: Small arms training, takedowns, tactics --Russian Self-defense: Submissions, short blade weapons training, striking --German CQB Training: Striking, rifle and bayonet training --Advanced Marksmanship Training: Sniping, iron-sight aiming, aiming while moving or at moving targets Background: Charles was born in Industrial Chicago in April of 1921 to a middle-class American family. He was of German heritage, but that never mattered to him. When his father committed suicide after the failure of his business in 1935, Charles became the sole supporter for his mother (who was disabled in an auto accident in 1931). There were no jobs readily available, and so he became ‘temporarily’ involved with the Chicago crime scene. A friend of his father’s, Donald McGreary, became the father figure in Charles’ life. He was a police officer affectionately dubbed “Officer Don” by most of the local citizens in his neighborhood. Officer Don was also as crooked as the day is long, working with the organized crime in the area. He claimed he did so to keep the peace, to keep the gangs killing each other, and to keep them from killing cops and innocents. His standard worked in that area, for the most part. When he learned that Charles had been initiated into one of the gangs, he took it as his responsibility to train him as much as he could, in hopes of the young man being able to defend himself. He gave him the training of a Chicago policeman, and had a few other friends train him in other combat techniques. Charles became a valuable asset to his gang. He excelled at extortion and collecting protection money, and eventually at providing support for hits on other gang members. He spent his years forwarding his money to his mother, until 1939, when she was killed in a questionable explosion in his home. The cause was determined to be a gas leak, but Charles knew it was an attempt on his life made by rival gang members with poor schedule information. When the Great Depression crushed the country’s economy, organized crime skyrocketed, and Charles took the opportunity. With scores of new initiates in his gang, he planned a massive hit on a stronghold of the gang that killed his mother. He sent a few dozen of the initiates, lightly armed, to rough up the market district, which was under the protection of the opposing gang. When the gang responded, Charles led a small strike force to the nearly deserted stronghold. The group planted a bomb and left, undetected. Charles’ men in the market were slaughtered; they were outnumbered, outgunned, and facing better-trained enemies. But the victory still lied ahead. When the rival gang members returned to their stronghold, holding a party that night, Charles detonated the bomb, irradiating all of them. Charles knew that a few of the leaders would be present at the party, but it worked far better than he ever could have hoped. The enemy gang broke one of the primary rules of organized crime: never have all of the gang’s top executives in one place. With the leadership completely destroyed, the remaining members of the gang quickly either fled or dropped the gang’s name. This unprecedented victory thrust Charles into control of the gang he had served for the past years. He was now his own man, with no family ties or real financial responsibilities. He only saw it fit to dedicating his life to making his gang the strongest, most profitable in the city of Chicago. No easy task, but still one that he and all his boys felt was attainable. Re: Charles Demont
He looks good, I'd just like to ask you to add a little bit more to the weaknesses. How is he in terms of speed in relation to a normal human? Can he be killed like any other normal human, by bullets, stabbing, etc.? I'm guessing so since he has no armor, but it's good to be specific like that, so that people know his limitations. ^^
Once you edit that a bit, I'll take another look. :3
