Kellas (MODEL CSPB-47)

In case you’re wondering, the name is an amalgamation of the 3 characters this guy is based on. Cait Sith from FFVII, my old cat Pinto Bean, and HK-47 from Knights of the Old Republic. Just a little nugget of info there. Meh.

Name: Kellas (Model CSPB-47)

Age: 5

Race:
Robot

Sex: N/A, although Kellas is modeled after a female cat, but has a male voice. So I guess Transgendered?

Let’s just go with male.

Hair/Fur: Black with a patch of white near his chest as a cat. No hair or fur as a robot.

Eyes: One green, one blue. Both have a slight glow to them. He has red eyes in his robotic form.

Weight: 14 lb/125 lb

Height: 1 foot tall as a cat, 6 feet tall in robotic form.

Weapon: Several weapons are available at his disposal in robotic form.

* CLAWS: He can intake and release a set of foot-long steel claws from his fingers. In case his current set breaks he is equipped with 2 extra sets inside his chalice. The claws are plain silver steel in contrast to the rest of his body.

* FLAME: His forehead contains a small flamethrower with about 20 seconds worth of fuel able to fit in it. Flames shoot out in a cone from his forehead for about 6 feet in front of Kellas when activated. The flamethrower can use almost anything flammable as fuel.

* MISSILES: Several five-inch long missiles can be fired from each of his kneecaps. He can manufacture missiles himself if the materials are necessary, as they are mainly metal surrounding gunpowder set off by a spark from his knee as they take off. He can guide them to a degree, but not much. They explode on impact of anything in most cases. The missiles are not large enough to cause fatal damage unless aimed at a creatures head, etc. The kneecap can hold up to 4 missiles on each side for a total of eight.

* FLASH: Produces a blinding flash from the eyes. This move can blind any creature with eyes and also stun them for a short time, about 2 minutes. The move can only be done once every couple of days as it drains a significant amount of energy from Kellas’ core.

* SHOCKWAVE: An incredibly loud wave of sonic energy comes out of Kellas’ mouth. This is not quite loud enough to deafen most creatures save those with very sensitive hearing. It will knock most creatures backwards and disorient them for short amounts of time. It’s also a pretty good distraction.

* FISTS: He is no slouch at a fist fight by any means. His fists are made of metal and can give good punches at a rate of speed hitting 18 punches per second at maximum power. This is reduced to about 4 per second with his claws out.

Armor:
Kellas has no true ‘armor’ per say. He is made of incredibly high-grade titanium that can withstand decent amounts of force. So, say, a great slash from a sword would not break it but a large ax with the same force may.

Strengths:
As a robot Kellas cannot be affected by psychic or mind-altering powers. He has no shut down or kill switch either. The only way to stop him entirely is by almost destroying him. He also has almost encyclopedic knowledge of the world and can quickly and efficiently figure things out like a supercomputer. Plus his cat form gives him a distinct ability for stealth if the opponent does not expect him to be coming. His effective strength in combat and tough metal frame are pretty good strengths as well, I’d say…

Weakness:
Almost all of his weapons save for his claws and regular attacks eventually run out of ammunition. Kellas is also unable to attack when transforming to or from his robot form. While he is not susceptible to water like most robots, electricity can fry him fairly quickly, rendering his weapons and most of his other functions useless. He is very thin on most of his structures, so enough force could easily snap parts of him off. (His joints especially are weaker areas) He has no discernable armors besides his hull. Kellas can also be easy to fool or outwit in games of logic due to his not actually being a thinking human but just good AI.

Skills/Magic: He has access to only one spell currently, a darkness spell. It immediately fills the surrounding area (the room if inside, about a 50 foot radius in a bubble shape outside) with pitch black. The spell wears off after 15 minutes.

Kellas is able to learn new spells (and save them in his database) due to the magic prowess installed in him, but he has yet to find one he likes enough to keep. He can keep knowledge of 2 spells at a time in his database.

Robot Specs and Features:
* Powered by a peanut sized “core” inside his left ankle. This core magically supplies its own self with energy, making a self-serving cycle to keep the robot powered. It has several years worth of backup power already stored to keep Kellas running even if the core should shut down.
* Morphs from Cat to robot in 14 seconds, in a move similar to what you see on Transformers.
* Can run at speeds up to 40 miles per hour.
* Contains an encyclopedic knowledge database and a 2-spell magic user database which allows him to learn and cast spells, both custom made - no other robot can use them. Both databases are small chips located inside the left ankle directly below the core.
* Has speakers inlaid into the back of his head along with a small collection of classic Gaelic music in his database, in case a situation for music should ever occur.
* Can record and replay dialogue and music he has previously heard.
* Has a morality debater inlaid into his personality which debates for him the morality of situations, for instance killing one man and saving hundreds or killing hundreds to save a queen.
* Has a small box on his back which allows him to hover up to 30 feet above the ground. He can hold a hover for well over an hour before he has to recharge, but moves at a slugs pace in mid-air.
* His voice is fairly metallic but definitely male when heard. He can speak 40 different languages. (Think HK-47 )

Appearance: As a cat Kellas looks to be a simple black housecat with a small patch of white fur stretching from the bottom of the neck to the chest. The patch is roughly diamond shaped. One of his eyes is blue, the other is green, and both eyes give off an eerie glow in darkness.

As a robot his form is rather skeletal. Built in a roughly human shape, he is topped by a slightly less than human sized (but more pointed than a normal human) head with 2 triangular downward pointing eyes, glowing red. His head is otherwise untouched except for a rectangular grate near where a mouth would normally be and a small hole in the forehead. The very top of his head has a small hatch on it with “CSPB-47” inscribed in red.

His body is a basic collection of metal rods stuck together in an almost human backbone-like manner. Each of the 3 rods connecting his body is welded together with a large hinge connecting them. His arms are made of 2 rods and a 4-fingered hand, with a smaller rod stuck between the 2 main ones. Think forearm, backarm and tendon connecting the 2 between the elbows. All of his joints are covered by fairly large orbs made of black steel to protect them.

The legs are made up in the exact same way as the arms but are longer and have large triangular bases for feet. The left leg from the knee down is covered in a large amount of armor, making him look from the knee down like a war machine. Between the last rod of his backbone and his legs there is a larger version of the joint cover acting as a pivot and pelvis.

All of the metal composing his body is black. Not painted, but entirely black titanium specially made and used only for Kellas. His entire body is also covered in cuts and scratches to his metallic chalice. His left arm is discolored dark grey with small red patches on it.

Personality: Being a robot, actual personality is hard to come by. Kellas over the years in his AI has adapted however, and does have a sort of pseudo-personality.

When talking to Kellas you would notice he is very bland. No real attempts at humor are ever made by him, save for the occasional moment of sarcasm when something incredibly stupid is said. Even then it tends to be over drawn out sarcasm which rarely gets a laugh. Not that Kellas would mind, of course. He is all but immune to criticism, since he sees himself as a machine with less personality or personal problems than any human would have. He has no ego, however and does not boast or brag about his past exploits.

He is generally engaging and enjoys giving out knowledge to others, although he rarely refers to anyone he knows as a “friend.” He does understand humans quite well, though, and will offer solace or even regular chatting if anyone requests it of him. He tends to overuse large words as if he were a walking thesaurus, often getting teased about it by people he speaks with.

In battle Kellas attempts to never kill. His morality chip normally comes up with the idea of not killing, reinforcing this idea. Only if people are being threatened or if there is a chance he himself will be destroyed will he kill anything living. He is the type to remain completely silent during battle, not exchanging banter or anything that does not relate to direct information he can use about the opponent. After fighting begins the only way to get him to say anything normally is to speak directly to him. Even then his answers are normally short and to the point as he focus’ all of his attention on battling.

He enjoys the company of humans and refers to them as his creators. Often this allows him to get taken advantage of by the more evil among them – he normally does what a human asks him, sometimes even overriding the morality debater to do it if the human seems trustworthy enough. He is neutral toward all other species and does not show love or hatred.

Biography: Most if not all of the people in the land have heard of the great scientist Dr. Shnaps. He was one of the first and still only scientists to have participated in the ideals of scientific magic. Science and technology combining with magic to help the world seemed like an amazing idea when it first sprung up 20 years ago. Shnaps was probably the most enthusiastic, quickly coming up with a series of brilliant inventions over a 15 year period, all leading up to his finest creation, Model CSPB-47.

Shnaps hadn’t really bothered with robotics much before that point, since most of what he’d seen from the robotic community was war machines and basic slaves. With magic, though, Shnaps got great visions of amazing AI among robots who could help humanity more than hurt. This cultivated itself in the CSPB project. “The acronym doesn’t really stand for anything,” Shnaps would say, “although I suppose for me it stands for a hope of progress.”

Over a grueling 12 years, Shnaps began building and building robot after robot. He hired the finest mages to assist in the creations of various parts and chips for the series until eventually scrapping every robot. At CSPB-40, Shnaps got the idea of shape-shifting robots. “Couldn’t,” he once said at a meeting of various worldly figures, “a shape-shifting robot not only function as a beautiful helpful robot but also as a pet?” So the scientist went to work on his ideas, attempting to merge his robotic forms with animals to create his vision.

From the 6 models after CSPB-40, nothing but despair and trouble occurred. All the animals that were magically merged with the robots were killed in the process, making the robots jumbled messes by the end. Not taking no for an answer, Shnaps decided to take the ultimate risk and put his own pet, a female cat named Kellas, up for the next merger. Day in and day out he toiled to make certain 100% that no more failure would appear in his project, else he lose the life of his most precious animal.

The good doctor was thrilled to announce the next day that his experiment had finally achieved success and CSPB-47, the first successful shape-shifting robot, was created. Large intentions of improving the design and creating new and improved ideas for databases and chips for the robot community were quickly halted on the 15th year anniversary of the first Scientific Magic community meeting when several thousand magical scientific inventions all over the world were stolen and found completely destroyed in a gully along with every single major member of the movement, including the good doctor Shnaps. This tragedy known as the “Great Purge” to the rest of the communities of science, was the final straw for a world who hadn’t yet been fully convinced of the greatness of the project in the first place.

Quickly the world governments halted all progress of the scientific magic project calling it “too risky if it ever got in the wrong hands” and “too corruptible for everyone’s good.” The only remaining artifact of the times is CSPB-47, only surviving the great purge due to his stealth and cat form. A strange message input into his memory by Shnaps immediately before his kidnapping and murder has kept Kellas wondering through the years about the truth behind the Purge. It simply reads “They have the weapons.”

After years of thinking it over in his mechanical mind, Kellas has come to the conclusion that many of the other artifacts of the scientific magic movement still survived and were in the hands of corrupt men. Kellas seeks to find and regain possession of them, and perhaps other robots that may have been magically gifted. All this to regain some closure in his creators’ death and perhaps avenge an all but forgotten group of men and women whose deaths were never solved.

By the way, before whomever sees this asks, this will be my final BA character that I'll submit, I just wanted to add him to my pool. Both my others are currently in RPs right now.

Re: Kellas (MODEL CSPB-47)

You don't necessarily have to finish those RPs before submitting a new character. So I can approve him. He's got everything.

*Approved*
