Name: Khaagas Naladak
Age: 12 years
Race: Constructed Monster
Sex: Genderless
Hair: None
Skin: Red
Eyes: Red
Weight: 240lbs
Height: 6'3"
Weapon: 2 Claws, 2 Feet, 2 Pointed Elbows, Razor Edged Tail
Armor: Solid body
Strengths: This demonic looking creature was designed to withstand some of the most powerful and devastating magic the world has to offer. Almost all magic that touches this creature unravels harmlessly (exceptions listen in Weaknesses). It has a highly developed sense of smell and sight, possesses formidable movement abilities, and is capable of working three specific spells of its own. It is immune to most forms of energy as well... heat/cold/electricity. It has no bones, no internal organs, and no blood... made of solid... uh... red stuff. Its density increases towards the center of any given limb. You can hack into it, but cutting straight through is going to be quite difficult.
It heals faster than a human, but nothing obscene like, say, Wolverine of X-Men fame. Major gashes opened into it will seal over the course of a day or two, faster if it sits in fire while recovering. Lesser nicks and scrapes will be healed in an appropriately smaller amount of time. Severed limbs, if regained, can be reattached over the course of a week or so.
Weakness: Khaagas Naladak has a weakness with regards to its name. With its name, you can make yourself heard to this otherwise deaf beast, and are additionally capable of using magic on it, including magic that bends the will, which is how it is controlled by its master.
As mentioned in passing in the above paragraph, Khaagas is completely deaf, unable to hear a sound other than that its master (who knows its name) makes.
It has intelligence a little higher than a highly trained dog, with a fair bit of animal cunning and a certain amount of tactical knowledge that has been trained into it, but no real
creativity to speak of.
While able to dissolve magic, there's not a lot it can do about magic that manipulates something that isn't magic... like magic that picks up a rock and throws it, for example. A completely CONJURED rock would be de-conjured, but a mundane rock thrown could really ruin its day.
Speaking of things to ruin its day, a sharp blow to the noggin will stun this guy quite well.
Skills: Khaagas's powerful legs are suited for a number of spectacular feats of acrobatics. It can leap nearly a hundred feet (about ten stories) into the air (suitable for catching flying dragons in flight) and can also use that propulsion to dash forwards at an impressive rate. Those legs are also capable of withstanding heavy shock (as evidenced by it's ability to land from a ten story drop unharmed) and are the primary source of torque when applying that razor sharp tail it uses in lieu of a sword.
Magic: (As Khaagas knows its own name, it does not dissolve its own magic) These are the three spells Khaagas knows--
Fires of the Sun: This spell produces a ten foot wide column of magical flame which bursts from the ground. At the instant of casting, this flame is hot enough to vaporize metal at the very center of the column, and produce third degree burns at the edge. Moments after the column appears it fades, leaving behind a magical fire which will last hours on the same source of fuel (think: burning bush). This fire is resistant to most mundane forms of extinguishing (a
sufficient amount of water will put it out, but a bucket probably isn't going to cut it) but is highly vulnerable to magical methods of extinguishing-- indeed, ANY magic cast in its vicinity will put it out, regardless of the spell.
This spell is very slow in the casting, however, and it is almost impossible to hit ANY moving target with it. A fair ten seconds before the column of fire appears, the outline of where the column will appear will scorch the ground and glow red. Five seconds before the fire starts, there will be a column of red light that stretches to the sky (visible for miles around). Anything capable of thought is going to get out of this circle, and there's plenty of time to do so. Once the spell is started, the circle cannot be moved without restarting the spell. Its main uses are intimidation, and control of the battlefield, for Khaagas can move in the flames that others may not.
Khaagas can be interrupted during the casting of this spell via a sharp blow to its head. However, the casting process simply involves concentration (during which its eyes flash bright red) and thus Khaagas can defend itself during this time. It generally isn't able to put up much offense during the casting, due to the concentration involved.
Shadow Gating: Through means of a pentagram, Khaagas Naladak can travel between this world, and a shadowy world much like it... less than a hair's breadth away. From this other world, it can see faint, ghostly images of this world... and from this world, it is possible to see Khaagas as a faint ghostly image, though it is much more likely that it will be mistaken for a heat shimmer.
The pentagram can be constructed while in either world, and takes nearly half a minute to make, in a fairly dramatic fashion. The first time any given pentagram is used, Khaagas will suffer from a form of "summoning sickness"... several seconds during which the beast is stunned, dizzy, unable to do much of anything. Other mages may be able to use these pentagrams also, to follow Khaagas to the other world... however the pentagrams will likely require a fair bit of study before this is possible.
The portals can be made to transport Khaagas (or another magic user with sufficient understanding of how the things work) to entirely different worlds as well, and since space and time can have different shapes in other worlds, this can make for convenient long distance travel. Make a portal to a world where a minutes travel there is the equivelent to a weeks here, then come back. It works out. Of course, acurate measurement from these other worlds may prove slightly difficult...
Armor Piercing: Khaagas Naladak, through use of this spell, is capable of thrusting its claw through any armor. In order to do so, Khaagas must be tightly holding onto the target... it can't be used in general melee. Mostly useful when fighting those pesky dragons... clinging to its underside while the dragon is still in flight, Khaagas can rip into the dragon's hide to pull out the poor creature's heart, which it then eats.
Personality: Doglike and faithful to its master, Khaagas Naladak is a patient hunter who will stalk prey for years if needed. Not ashamed to back off when defeated, Khaagas has been sent off to lick its wounds on frequent occasions. It knows the meaning of fear and caution, though it often feels immortal and will thus charge into battle without much preparation. Most of its personality, however, will stem from its current master. As of right now, its current master (an NPC) has a nice long hitlist for it, and has also ordered that the creature try to remain secret-- generally by killing any and all witnesses to its deeds, but preferably by avoiding those witnesses in the first place. As such, it remains mostly in the shadow world, stalking a victim, waiting for them to become alone, and then striking.
Khaagas will learn from specific mistakes, but its definition of specific is quite narrow... it won't make the same mistake twice when dealing with a specific foe, but when faced with a new target, much of the old lore is tossed out of the window and it will begin anew.
Other than that, it enjoys being intimidating... or perhaps that's just instinct. Though it cannot hear, it does speak... in a fashion... its guttural utterings have no real meaning though, they merely sound really scary. It goes out of its way to frighten foes whenever it can, flaunting its abilities, occasionally playing cat and mouse. It likes to be as gory as possible, and though it doesn't need to eat anything, will often devour the hearts of the fallen, and paint the landscape with other innards... again, simply for the intimidation factor.
Appearance:

The only difference in this character from the image above is that the image depicts it as having a rounded tail, while Khaagas's tail has an edge to it. A very sharp edge, all down the side, making it almost as good a weapon as a sword in most ways, and better in others (by spinning around, Khaagas can get some SERIOUS torque with that tail and do real damage to stuff).
History: Khaagas Naladak is a magically created being with a purpose: it was specifically designed with slaying highly magical creatures in mind, such as Dragons, and Phoenii... hence the heavy duty magical resistance and immunity to most elements, especially fire. It has slain countless powerful creatures, several of which were sufficient in their power to be compared with gods in their own right. All in service of its master...
Its most elusive foe, however, has been a surprise to both the beast and the beast's master. A young girl, only nine years old when she was first hunted, has evaded and escaped from Khaagas for the past 5 years running. Everywhere she has fled, Khaagas has slain nearly everyone she's ever met, destroyed every home she's ever known, and hounded her without rest... but always, always she escapes. A hero may arise and cause it to flee at the last moment, or she'll escape down the river, or she'll stun it with a rolling pin just long enough to run down that alleyway and into an area where there are more people than prudent to show itself to. Burning buildings, setting of ambushes, relentless pursuit... nothing has succeeded.
Of course, there are others to be killed as well. And they make for interesting diversions, but this one who continues to get away continues to haunt the beast. It will not give up, for its master has ordered it. But sometimes, it dreads that next failure...
