Jaiden Saireum.

My third character! ^_^

Name: Jaiden Saireum. (Jay-den) (Se-rum) pronunciation

Age: 10 years old.

Race: Hylian/ Human hybrid. The human part shows in him; while the Hylian magic shows otherwise.

Sex: Male

Hair: Light purple, comes down to chin and is very shaggy

Eyes: Purple

Weight: 96lbs. 4oz.

Height: 4’ 10”

Weapon(s): Jaiden carries a small, three foot long sword. The hilt of the sword has a small hand guard to help protect his fingers and lets only him hold the sword. Anyone else who touches it will receive a small electrical shock. The blade is made of magically enhanced steel that allows the small ten- year old to pick it up with ease, but any other person who tries can’t even budge it.
Jaiden also carries a set of shurikens that he can add magic to help enhance their throwing distance and pain distribution. He carries a small bow to help hit far away opponents, and the bow is also enhanced with magic so it won’t break unless a huge force is pressing on it.
All he has for protection is a small wooden shield that can be thrown at foes. The shield has markings going ^V^V^V around the edge, and in the middle of the shield has markings like this <><><><><> that glow purple, making the shield unbreakable.

Armor: The young warrior mage wears only a small chain mail suit the covers his shoulders, down to his stomach, as naturally chain mail does. To help protect his legs from any assault, Jaiden wears thin, malleable metal plates that have been layered to keep from breaking after one swipe of a sword. He wears on his arms the natural arm guard, to protect against the bow’s release, as well as small, multi-linked platelets of armor over his wrists and hands to keep from injuring himself when attacked. Jaiden’s boots are made of simple leather, covered in weather- proofing chemicals to keep water off of him.

Strengths: Since Jaiden is only ten years old, he doesn’t have as many different strengths as many other people do. First off, his stamina is incredible because of his age and the Hylian blood that flows within. Jaiden can counter many attacks because of this, and attack people much faster than a normal child. He can speak and read fluent English, Hylian, and a bit of the ancient Twili scripture. This is considered a strength because it helps Jaiden to read spells from ages past. He’s also able to control light magic very well, and fire magic doesn’t harm him too very badly. For most of his life, Jaiden has learned how to control water and wind spells, taking his time to learn every step before moving on to a more difficult spell or charm.

Weakness: As it was stated in his strengths, being ten means you have more weaknesses than an older mage or warrior. To start it off, any attack from a skilled or powerful swordsman or mage can harm him dearly. Mind reads are easy to perform on him, as are mind stuns and the like for mind attacks. Also, since the young warrior mage is less than 100 pounds and under 5 feet tall, it is easy to pick him up and toss him around. His sword and other weapons, even though light to him, slow the young mage down considerably, helping for other foes and enemies to get at least one good hit in.

Skills/Magic: Ten years old and a very powerful mage and warrior, Jaiden has trained with his mother for years, and has loved every moment of it. On a scale of 1-10, as rated by many of the Hylian society, Jaiden’s abilities mark a 7 on the scale. He knows how to fight using swords, magic, bow staffs, and his own hands if need be. To help keep from confusing people, a chart was made to show Jaiden’s skills, 0 being no skill and 100 being mastered.

Jaiden has learned many different magics, and once he began, he couldn’t stop. At night he’d sneak into his father’s library and pick out a couple of books, skimming through some chapters and rereading them to get a grip on the spells and charm/ hexes he liked, copying the names and hand signs down as he went. Jaiden would sit in his room and practiced the new spells, keeping on one until he got the signs mastered to an art, and then starting on another, repeating the process over. Many of the spells Jaiden learned helps to fight his foes without actually hurting them, only harming them if he himself is harmed. Sword fighting came shortly after he turned six, his father teaching him how to block overhead and any other attack, parrying some sword attacks, jabbing, and various other techniques. Here is a list of some of the spells and attacks Jaiden learned, with which most of them are for temp paralysis, to give him time for fight or flight:

1.) Nayru’s Judgment- It starts out with Jaiden picturing the person(s) who attacked him, then making a few hand signs signaling a small group of light made pillars to form around the opponent, blinding and temporarily paralyzing them (which last about five seconds), which allows him to escape and plan for any future attacks. This attack is virtually impossible to dodge, because the light pillars track the opponent, but the attack can also be reversed.

2.) Poisoned Mind- Jaiden closes his eyes and focuses on his opponent’s mind, willing the foe’s mind to relax just enough so they’ll fall to the ground, regaining their senses mere seconds later, which gives him time to draw any weapon needed to fight. It only works if he is completely focused, but the attack can be turned on him if he is not careful.

3.) Bounty of a Warrior- The young warrior mage’s sword, when in hand and activated correctly, will glow a purplish blue color. When the sword glows this color, Jaiden is able to make any wound he inflicts on a foe hurt twice as bad as it would normally, but the spell only last for a minute, so he has to be quick to execute it.

4.) Icarus’ Wings- Jaiden starts this multi-weapon/ spell attack by making a small whirlwind in the middle of the battle area. As it moves around the room, it picks up small elemental shurikens set around the room and hurls them at the opponent. This attack is hard to dodge, but can easily be dodged by teleporting out of the way.

5.) Twilight’s Protector- The most powerful of these attacks, it begins when Jaiden becomes scared or angry. A dark purple aura forms around him, and the sky darkens. He draws his sword, which instead of the normal purplish color the steel has, is now a dark blue, almost midnight color. Jaiden then runs at the foe, and begins to swing his sword. To record, nobody has ever come out of this attack unscathed. The onslaught last for ten seconds, and drain Jaiden to the point of fainting. It’s used for a last resort attack, and what causes the power surge has never been found out.

Appearance: Jaiden is a ten year old Hylian- Human hybrid. His face is that of an innocent child, small, round, plump and pink. Jaiden’s eyes are a light purple, almost lavender color, with the darker outer ring a royal purple. Because he’s a hybrid, he acquired the magical traits of his Hylian father and the human appearance of his mother, round ears included. His clothes include a small, light purple shirt with a dragon on the front, the words on the shirt reading, “No cave is safe. Ask the man who visited this Dragon.” Jaiden wears a pair of blue jeans with holes worn in the knees and lower leg from the armor and natural causes. His small leather boots look like they’d been through better days, because of all the patches around the soles and a few on the top. Jaiden wears his sword on his back, and pulls it out with his left hand. He wears a darker purple hat than the rest of his clothing, and rarely ever takes it off to show his messy, also naturally purple hair.

Personality: Jaiden is normally a sweet, caring ten year old who makes friends very easily. He doesn’t get angered as fast as other people, and dislikes fighting because he can’t stand to see other people in any type of pain. His mother and father taught him self defense at an early age to help calm his temper, just so he wouldn’t get frustrated as often. Shy for only a few minutes around people, Jaiden quickly befriends many of them, making very few rivals and enemies. If you somehow manage to get him mad or sad, you better watch out. Jaiden bottles up some emotions and can harm people when angry, but he doesn’t realize it until later. Many of his school friends can describe how funny and sweet the young mage is.

Biography: Jaiden was born in a small, secluded village in the Northeast corner of Hyrule. His Hylian father, Malcom, was a well known researcher of lost spells and artifacts from ancient times. Jaiden’s mother, Lana, was a human who had been seeking an adventure and had wandered into the small country, finding plenty of it in the ancient country. As Lana held her only son, she noticed his eyes and hair were a light shade of purple. “Malcom, do any of your family members have purple hair?” Lana asked, puzzled. He shook his head and looked at Jaiden, smiling. “It suits him though, doesn’t it?” Nodding, she smiled.

When Jaiden was four, his father began to teach him simple spells, like how to make a small fire to cook. Lana and Malcom were impressed with how fast Jaiden had picked up on how to read and perform spells, so they began training him early. By the age of seven, Jaiden had learned almost fifty spells, twenty hexes, and ten charms, all ranging from very easy to moderate and hard levels, using many different elements. At night, almost every night, Jaiden would sneak into his father’s secret library of ancient spell books, skimming through and writing any spells and whatnot he found useful. When he went into the gardens behind the small house they lived in, Jaiden would practice the simple water spells, helping his mother water the plants, while saving all the other spells for practice in his room.

Three or so years later, soldiers and other warriors came storming into the town. Jaiden was out alone in the streets, practicing his sword techniques when a soldier rode up to him on a large red war horse. Jaiden looked up at the man, stopping what he was doing and sheathing his sword. The soldier hopped off of his horse and picked Jaiden up by the collar, smiling. “Looks like we got another one of them sword people, wouldn’t y’all agree?” Jaiden looked at the man, scared. “Aw, he’s scared. What can we do to cheer ‘im up fellas? ” The soldier threw the now terrified Jaiden onto the ground and pulled his sword out. “Hows about a little sword fight, to test yer skills?” The soldier began to advance towards the scared child, until an audible crack was heard on the back of his head, the soldier falling to the ground. Jaiden looked up to see his father looming above him, back turned as the rest of the army ran at the two.

When Jaiden finally opened his eyes, he was back in his house, lying on the couch. The young warrior rolled upwards, and then stood, looking around. Just then, his mother came walking towards him, tears in her eyes. “Oh, Jaiden, I thought you were hurt!” He ran up to her, hugging her when he got there. “Where’s father at?” The young mage looked around again, but saw no sign of his father. “He yelled to me to come and get you out of the road, and the last I saw of your father, he was trying to mediate with those drunkards.” Holding Jaiden close, Lana whispered, “It seems they’re trying to find young children to take into the army. We need to get you out of here before they do capture you.”

Lana and Jaiden quickly packed their belongings and ran out to the wagon, placing everything in it. Jaiden jumped into the back and covered himself with the tarp, keeping low and out of sight. Lana nodded to him and sent the two horses into motion, looking back at their house as the soldiers began to bust the doors down. Tears in both of their eyes, they continued on. A few days later, Lana stopped the wagon at an inn. She gently shook Jaiden awake. “I found a place far away. I don’t think the soldiers will find us for a while.” The two unpacked their belongings and rented a room.

Jaiden woke up early the next morning to a knock on the door. Sluggishly, he hauled himself up to the eyehole and peeked through. Another knock on the door sounded as his mother got up and pulled him back gently, holding a sword up for protection. She opened the latch, and ten or so of the soldiers piled in, surrounding and pulling Jaiden’s mother from view. “Mother,” was all the youth could scream before the soldiers pulled a gag around his mouth. Another cloth was put up to his nose, and a sickly sweet smell filled Jaiden’s mind. His vision blurred, and he closes his eyes, hearing only a mumble from the soldiers, then nothing.

Wake up… Kid… Wake up… The noise hurt his head at first, and Jaiden covered his ears. He slowly opened his eyes to a girl standing above him. Rolling up into a sitting position, Jaiden looked around. He was in a small house, and was lying on a bed. The young mage looked around, then up to his savior. “Glad to see you up, sleepyhead,” the girl taunted, smiling. As Jaiden’s vision cleared, he saw a girl not much taller than him standing up. The girl giggled again, and looked at the mage. “So, I found you, and I don’t know your name. Could you tell me? I’m Jen,” she chimed, holding out her hand. Jaiden hesitated for a moment before shaking it, replying in a small voice. “I… I’m Jaiden. How’d you find me?”

“Well, I was swinging through the trees and heard a commotion in the inn below. I saw you bound and gagged on the shoulder of a soldier. Couldn’t let them take you, now could I?” Jen smiled, her ears twitching. Jaiden shot up and looked around, his eyes wide. “I… I need to find my family! My mom was with me, and I was…” He stopped in mid-sentence, looking up at Jen. Did you hear anything happened other than that scuffle?” She looked at him and nodded. “I heard a gun, but that was it. I swung down and grabbed you, so the soldiers couldn’t take you away.” The young mage stood there, trying not to cry. “I need to find them. Now and fast.” He ran to the door and turned around. “Thanks for saving me,” the mage added, opening the door and jumping to the ground, beginning to run to the next town. Jen stared after him, smiling.

- A ten-year-old may be slightly encumbered by a bow and a shield, even if the sword has magical properties. I'd like you to note that in the weaknesses.

- Separate the opening paragraph of Jaiden's skills and the one that talks about Nayru's Judgement; there should always be a gap between paragraphs in the BA.

And that's all I can see that is wrong. Touch up on those little details and I'll be back ^^;
