Re: Insaney's Sane Characters

Rain Seraph
The Demon's bane.

Rain Seraph prior to the Ascension.

Rain Seraph after the Ascension:

Name : Rain Seraph

Age: Over one millennium and counting (looks like he’s 23)

Race: Grim Angel (black-winged angel that serves no one). He still retains most of his vampyric aspects.

Gender: Male

Eyes: Light gold. (His irises turn light purple and his pupils become slits when using Nightingale and/or wings)

Hair: Shortish and Blackish.

height: 6 feet 1 inch

Weight: 130lbs

Themesongs:

Weapons: A Grim Angel wields a main weapon called a Diviner.

Nightingale: A long, dark, slightly curved staff. It is light, smooth and indestructible, forged from the material that angels use to make their weapons and armor. It is hollow, as it houses something more deadly. The staff and it's weapons inside can absorb or dissipate any type of holy or light magic, offensive or defensive. Dark/Evil magic has no effect on him once he's holding the weapon. The staff can be dematerialized and rematerialized at any time, no matter where it is or who's holding it. He only draws the two blades when he wants to, preferring that they be kept concealed most of the time.

Night:
A long katana hidden in the staff. It is extremely sharp and never gets dull. The blade is dark, but it shines a gold-ish colour when there is light. When the sword is swung, it 'hums'. The humming weapons are an attribute associated with Grim Angels. Other than that it has the attributes of a normal katana.
Gale:
On the opposite end of the staff from which the katana is drawn, a kodachi (short katana) is hidden. Like Night, Gale is indestructible and the blade is dark. Unlike Night, however, it does not hum. The shortsword acts as defense, but the blade is as sharp as it's longer brother.
As a small side note: when two Grim Angels' weapons clash, the sound is similar (it's a little higher pitched) to tolling bells.

Rain recently obtained side weapons called “Las Espadas del Prisma” (“Swords of the Prism”) that have a few features of their own. The swords are made from a transparent metal that reflect and refract light in ways unknown to humankind.

As the Angel of Death himself put it: “Ask ten men the colours of these swords as they fly through battle, and you will hear ten different answers.”

The swords change their colour according to the light that hits it. When in the shade, the swords turn pitch black, whereas, in the light (depending on the angle it’s viewed from and the light’s intensity) it can appear white, or any other colour. The swords turn into invisible particles in the air when they are not needed, but the particles can still be used in a variety of ways. When the particles combine to form larger ones, they appear as shining, illuminated silver dust (dubbed “Silverlights”) floating in the air around the wielder. They act as miniature razors, controlled by the wielder; and can number in the thousands. With the two swords come a few magic skills that would be explained in that section.

Armour: none

Strengths: He can walk on walls, and is extremely agile. His humane appearance grants him safety from being noticed when walking among humans. He is also fully nocturnal, making him gain an acute advantage of eyesight in the dark. He can jump higher, and further than any vampire or angel. When he is injured severely, he can heal instantly by drinking blood… (Which he only drinks for extremely critical injuries, lost limbs can be regenerated instantly this way). Small cuts and bruises can instantly regenerate without him having to drink blood. With his wings he cannot fly, but he can glide. He is now even faster and stronger than his former vampyric self.

Although his speed is way above his strength. One word to describe his speed is simply: 'unparalleled', he can move so fast that he cannot be seen, he can move even faster than this, creating an illusion that makes him seem like he's still standing there, while he's really moving at breakneck speed (the image of him standing there is burned into the retina of the viewer, so Rain can move faster than it takes to send a message from the eye to the brain).

Like his sister, he is extremely observant and knowledgeable, but he does not possess photographic memory, which makes her a cut above him.

Rain also has alot of knowledge about demons, implanted into his mind during the fusion when he became a Grim Angel-Vampire hybrid. Rain is also very combat oriented, knowing different styles and how to dodge/counter most attacks. He can fight expertly unarmed, with his staff, or with his swords.

Weaknesses: He isn’t invulnerable, so he can be critically injured. His ‘vampire side’ is still present, and can take over at times, because of not drinking blood, resulting in light-headedness which he suppresses, this happens at random times, which makes him lose concentration. Also, because he is not able to sense humans with his sixth sense, it would be easy for a skilled, stealthy human to sneak up on him and attack him. Crucifixes and holy water no longer have any effect on him, but silver can deal the same damage.

Silver: Silver only works once it penetrates his skin. His blood reacts with it, sending a burning poison through his veins. His veins turn grey or black as the silver poison goes through, and can be seen on his skin. Once the poison reaches his heart, he has no chance. It can be healed and the poison pushed back out of the initial wound by only drinking blood.
Magic/Skills:

Azrael's Eyes -- A reversal, or counter, that can send an attack (be it physical or magical) back at the attacker. It's basically a mix of potent magic and powerful telekinesis. Rain's eyes appear to become enflamed in gold, he and his opponent are drawn into darkness, from which multitudes of frightening eyes open. The attacker is frozen, time has stopped for him, unable to move his own body while his attack is reversed, and used on himself. The telekinesis kicks in when the attack is magical. For this to work, however, the attacker must initiate the attack with the intent of killing the target, and must be able to look into Rain's eyes. The procedure can be stopped or paused at any time.

Air-current Manipulation – not necessarily changing how wind moves, but the manipulation of air currents to form powerful, cutting vacuums. A large, slicing vacuum can be sent horizontally or vertically by using his hand or weapon. They can move along the ground (ripping it up as it moves along) or through the air. A small vacuum can be formed near the arm/leg while punching/kicking, so even if the attack misses, the target still gets a few cuts.

Prism Sword Spell ~ Wintersun — Everything the sunlight touches in the immediate area becomes ice cold—so cold, it burns. The shadows are the only places that are not affected.

Prism Sword Spell ~ Summersnow – The swords have to be in Silverlight mode for this. The particles, turned into embers, fall from the sky like snowflakes, but they can be controlled like the Silverlights. They cut and burn at the same time.

Prism Sword Spell ~ Angelstorm – The attack needs to start from high up with both prism swords drawn. The target must be way down below. Jumping off the high spot and rotating with swords held out, seemingly forces the clouds to follow the tips of the blades. They twist and when they touch each other, a massive tornado is formed with a spinning ‘vacuum-wall’ outside and powerful air currents inside. It sucks up and tries to shred apart everything within the vicinity and does not move. The wielder of the swords remain in the dead center of the tornado, kept safe and floating by the powerful air currents inside—it’s like a normal floor, if anyone gets through the outer ‘vacuum wall’ then they’ll literally be walking on air. The whole thing lasts for about five minutes. When it’s over, everything within the tornado just drops.

~Bleeding Hell Butterflies/Crimson Seize -- These are paper thin red ‘butterflies’ (Yes, I said ‘butterflies’) that can be easily summoned out of Rain’s sleeves or the back of his cloak. They materialize somewhere around his elbow or upper-back areas. These butterflies are limitless and take no energy (or incantation) to summon or control. One of these is strong enough to break a glass pane by repeatedly slamming into it, while it is thin enough to slip effortlessly under doors or into cracks and crevices. They are also strong, able to withstand swords or bullets, which just knock them out of the sky. When not being controlled, they act like normal butterflies, flying around slowly until they ascend into the stratosphere, where they burst into tiny shreds. When under control, Rain can have them fly up to speeds of approximately 100 miles per hour, able to pack a hit powerful enough to shatter one inch thick glass.

(Actual size)

They are about as large as your hand with your fingers spread wide and appear to have no visible eyes, mouths or appendages. However, they do bite if they can get close enough (it basically feels like a hard pinch) and their non-visible claws can scrape so hard, they can shred paper perfectly.

~Reiatsu/Spiritual Pressure Sensing – This ability is never ending, he can tell whether a human is not a human, but actually of another species in disguise. He doesn’t have to will himself to see it, he just does. On moment, it looks perfectly normal to him, and then he blinks, and whatever it is is revealed to him. This ability also allows him to sense when demons or angels are around him. The stronger the demon, or angel, the stronger this sense tingles. This is also used to see spirits that aren't normally seen. These spirits can be souls, good or bad.

~Reiatsu Release - Taught to him by his sister; Rain's spiritual pressure is at an unimaginable level (though, it's nowhere near his sister's). His spiritual pressure is so powerful that if he chooses to go full power and release all of it, inanimate objects (with no spiritual pressure or resistance) around her can pushed back or uprooted, his power also has the ability to create tremors. The colour of his Reiatsu when released is a gold/black mix. This is mainly used for intimidation.

~Healing Blood - The ability to regenerate automatically after receiving cuts and bruises. He can only heal small wounds on himself, but when he uses his blood to heal others, it can even regenerate a lost limb. To apply this to others, Rain has to either cut himself and place his blood on their wound OR they can instead drink the blood or he can inject it directly into their bloodstream:

~Loving Bite - If the wound is internal, and the person refuses/can't drink his blood, Rain can inject it into their bloodstream by simply biting them and injecting blood through his fangs instead of sucking it out.

~Advanced Shinsoku/God-speed - The constant unparalleled speed that is described in the Strengths section. He can speed up any part of his body, even his eyes. When he speeds up, everything slows down, as if time itself has slowed down.

~Silhouette of Shadow - After drinking Cadenza's magic-laden blood in Sun Surf and Demons, he gained the ability to pass through or meld into shadows, leaving no trace behind. While in the shadow, he can move along almost unhindered, as long as there is shadow cast for him to move. This links to another, more powerful ability:

~Golden Shadow Dragon - An extremely massive, extremely powerful, but very draining transformation. Rain takes on the form of an eastern-style dragon by stabbing himself or just be really beaten down and bleeding just before moving into a shadow, and changing into it. The shadows merge with his blood to create the dragon. At that point, the dragon can appear from any other shadow within the immediate area. The dragon and its scales are composed completely out of thickly layered velvet shadows, the patterns on the form are made from shadows as well, but coloured gold. His speed is drastically lessened, but is still extremely fast, able to run around on the ground or snake up sky scrapers in less than the blink of an eye. In this form, he can also fly without wings, but can only snake through the air instead of flying straight. Other than these attributes, the dragon form comes with some others:
Meld: Whatever Rain has on him during the time he enters the shadows and transforms automatically adds to the transformation. For example, if he has his wings out when he transforms, his dragon form gains large, scaly wings that help him fly straight and fast. If he has Nightingale out, the orihalcon coats his claws and scales, giving them an odd goldish sheen when the light shines a certain way on the black scales. The claws can then tear through anything and his scales become impenetrable shields. While having the Prism swords out will turn his scales and claws into prisms themselves.

Roar: Its roar is so powerful, that its shockwaves push nearby objects away, and the ground quakes a little.

Blend: The dragon can blend flawlessly with shadows, even merging with them to become flat like one. It can also stay completely still against the night sky or dark clouds to blend in with them.

Gran Rey Cero/Grand King Zero: A massive burst of jet-black spiritual energy fired from his mouth. It fires as a massive, lengthy beam that travels as fast as the speed of sound, and is extremely destructive (about five times more than Raisha’s Cero Sincretico).

Drainfang: The dragon can easily take one person into its mouth (but can’t swallow, no digestive tract), and when it does, it absorbs all the person’s magic and energies, sapping them, making them exhausted and unable to use any of their power. Their own power can be put to use in an attack which will be described lower down.

Elemental Burst: The dragon can charge and fire a variety of high powered blasts from its mouth. (the longer it charges, the larger and more powerful it’ll be) All elemental. It can let out searing fireballs, freezing ice blasts, darkening shadow balls, bright lightning bursts etc—all the elements. They can be fired normally, or they can be mixed (like shadow with ice, fire with lightning, or even fire, lightning and shadow in one etc. ) to form “Synchronized Bursts”.

Drainfang Recoil: After absorbing one’s energy through Drainfang, the energy can be compressed and fired right back at them. If the energy sapped is too little, or it that kind of energy has no effect/heals the target, then it can be combined with a number of Elementals to form Synchronized Bursts.

~He also possesses a mediocre two way telepathic link with his sister.

~His weapon, Nightingale, can be summoned by will. It appears as a long, black mist coming out of his hand. The mist subsides to reveal the staff.

~He has four wings that can also be summoned in a similar way. The mist extends from his back (whether he has something covering his back or not) and forms wings as black as the void. There are two lower wings (which are small) and two upper wings (which are larger). Every few seconds, the wings drop one feather each at the same time. The four feathers disintegrate before touching the ground.

~When Rain uses his staff and/or his wings, his irises become a faint purple and the pupils become slits, to give a more frightening and deadly appearance.

Fighting Style:
Rain uses a sword technique called Battojutsu.

Techniques:
Dragon's Howl/Ryumeisen: This is a sword-technique opposite to the god-speed battojutsu: god-speed notojutsu (literally: god-speed sheathing). When the sword hilt connects with the sheath, the god-speed sheathing produces a sonic boom that temporarily stuns an opponent's auditory nerve, impairing their hearing and equilibrium.

Dragon's Swift/Jinsokuryusen: A combination of vampyric speed and battojutsu. It is a draw-attack so fast, that there isn't a moment to feel pain. After the attack is over, it takes a few seconds for the opponent's body to show the results of the attack (The skin seems to part for itself). This attack, however is based on more speed than power, so it is very weak.

Dragon's Earth Strike/Doryusen involves drawing the sword while it is almost parallel to the ground in front of the attacker. The air forced downward from the blade, which causes the ground to 'explode', sending rubble and dust everywhere.

Dragon Hammer/Ryutsuisen: The "Dragon Hammer" is a sword-drop technique delivered from above, targeting the crown of the head or the shoulder of the adversary. The key to the technique lays in the height gained from the user’s jump and the free-fall, which is applied to the sword to multiply the force of the sword-stroke.

Dragon's Flight/Ryushosen: The "Dragon Flight" is a move meant to utilize the edge of the sword, cutting the adversary below while aiming for the jaw. The key to this technique lays in jumping power, utilizing it to its fullest.

Dragon's Nest/Ryusosen: is a rapid-strike technique which deals a flurry of successive blows at god-like speed. Rain can even do this while moving.

Dragon Hammer ~ Tragedy/Zan: The 'Tragedy' is a brutal variant of the 'Dragon Hammer'. It uses a sword plant to plunge the sword into the target, rather than a simple sword stroke.

Dragon Flight ~ Nail/Kugi: 'The Nail' is a brutal variant of the 'Dragon Flight', where it uses the tip of the sword instead of the edge.

Dragon's Nest Strike ~ Strangle/Garami: A variation of the normal 'Dragon's Nest', this technique targets the neck/head instead of the body.

Six-Headed Dragon/Roku-ryusen:
This technique is extremely fast and is impossible to block, but it can be dodged easily as it is extremely inaccurate. It can be blocked fully, however, in cases where a magic barrier is used. Rain uses almost his full speed and initiates an attack from all sides:
~Rising vertical attack from underneath
~Descending vertical attack from above
~Horizontal attack to the neck from the front
~Horizontal attack to the chest from the left
~Horizontal attack to the waist from the back
~Horizontal attack to the knees from the right
He can use his hands, his staff, or either of the swords. It would be useless against a moving opponent.

Dragon's Flight of Heaven/Amakakeru Ryu No Hirameki involves three stages.
1st strike: The basic Battojutsu stance is made with the right foot forward, left foot back, so when the draw is made, there is no danger of severing the left leg (as it's in the back, it's away from the blade). However, with this move, an extra step forward is made with the left foot in mid-draw, adding more force and speed to an already powerful and swift draw. The sheath of the sword also swings with the draw, adding more speed to it. The draw altogether is so fast that it is invisible to the naked eye. If this first strike is parried or blocked, the second stage begins.

2nd strike: If the initial attack is somehow avoided, the sheer force of the draw itself displaces the air in front of the attacker, creating a small vacuum which sucks the opponent in. While the opponent is being sucked in, the attacker completes a 360 degree spin that started from the initial attack. This second attack adds the force of the spin to the blow. If this strike is somehow parried or blocked, the third stage begins.

3rd strike: If the 2nd strike is somehow avoided, another 360 degree turn is made. The 360 degree turn in the second strike creates a vacuum around Rain instead of in front of him, drawing almost everything in (dust, rocks, leaves. It can even drag a car towards it). At this point, the sword vibrates furiously, and its hum turns into a deafening screech. This last attack is even faster and more powerful than the first two and is almost impossible to block

Even if you manage to avoid the fangs of the flying dragon, the wind of it's passage will render you immobile and it's claws will tear your apart.

This move is Rain's trump card, but it is not used often.
Nine-Headed Dragon/Kuzu-ryusen: Variation of the Roku-ryusen, the "Nine-Headed Dragon" is a formidable technique which utilizes Rain's god-speed to the fullest extent; dealing nine strikes to the most fundamental targets of swordsmanship (Head, shoulders, chest, arms, legs, below the belt), all at the same time. These points are the focus of the technique as they make up the basis of one’s guarding stance, regardless of style or weapon. So with this technique, attacking all nine all at once, guarding and dodging becomes virtually pointless.

Other Techniques:

Spinning Sword/Kaiten Kenbu: It involves Rain rapidly spinning around three times, while holding the kodachi backhand, to slash the opponent thrice in an instant.

Spinning Sword Six Series/Kaiten Kenbu Rokuren: The attack involves attacker gripping both kodachi (Gale and holding Night’s blade instead of the handle to make it shorter) backhand, then slashing the opponent six times in rapid succession, from both sides (it relies on confusing the opponent on the direction from which each subsequent strike is going to come). It's basically 'Spinning Sword' but done with two kodachi.

White Feather Catch/Shiraha Dori: A defensive technique where the enemy's sword is stopped by using the bare hands, no matter how hard it is swung.

Reversing Cut/Modoshi Giri: The most skilled swordsmen using the best of blades are supposedly able to slice an object in two and rejoin the halves together, as if it were never cut at all.

Appearance before the Ascension

Current Appearance.

Personality: Usually, Rain has a very 'happy-go-lucky' character. Mostly always with a small smile. He seems to be very oblivious and clumsy sometimes. If someone jokingly throws a punch or something else at him, he usually takes it, pretending to be surprised. But truth be told, even when he's like that, he's always observing and alert. When facing danger, you see a completely different person than you see normally. It seems like his whole personality changes, because he goes from being a sort of bumbling guy to an expert fighter, even though he usually has a small smile on his face to stop opponents from trying to read his emotions or thoughts. He's also usually quite the gentleman too, and has to literally force himself to hit a lady.

Biography:

Darkness reigned. Demons and angels walked the earth. The sun was almost never seen; it only seeped through the small crevices in the grey clouds. Chaos was prevalent, as the gates of hell were waiting to be opened. The angels could do nothing but stand by and watch destiny be fulfilled.

***

In the midst of this dark age, lived a boy, Rain, seventeen years, and his sister, Raisha, of twenty three years. They protected each other, because they had no one to do it for them. Orphaned by past wars, the two had to find their own way to make ends meet. While Raisha spent her time ‘entertaining’ the men of the town, Rain helped around the households with works of construction. They put together whatever little they made to buy clothes and food. Their ‘home’ was an old, abandoned house, old and broken, from age and weather.

One night, Raisha didn’t come back.

Rain, fearing the worst, searched frantically around town for her. At the edge of the town, at the grey well, he saw a figure, clothed in a grayish white gown. The sleeves of the gown, along with her long, dark hair, rippled in the winds. She turned slightly, and saw Rain out of the corner of her eye, she started humming, and turned back, walking away slowly. Rain’s eyes widened.

”Raisha…?” He whispered

He carefully walked up to her, and put his hand on her shoulder. She stopped humming, turned around, and stared straight into his eyes. Rain reached to touch her face under the pale moonlight. Her skin was still soft, and slightly cold. Rain’s thumb went under her bottom lip slightly. He jerked his hand away upon feeling a wet substance on her chin.
He raised his thumb to the moonlight, the crimson liquid glowed.

Blood.

She had a blank, merciless stare. It remained unchanged, even after blood ran down her neck, staining her blouse. Rain’s eyes were trembling.

”Raisha… what… what happened?”

A devilish grin spread across her face, baring her blood soaked fangs. Rain stumbled backwards as Raisha grabbed his shoulder and his hair, and pulled them apart, stretching his neck. Rain gritted his teeth and struggled, looking up at his sister.

Her newfound strength was too much for him.

She cleaned her fangs with her tongue, and bent her head over his neck.

”This is how you die.”

***

The whispers came from all around, echoing and overlapping….

”Rain…”
”Wake up…”
”Open your eyes- Rain…”
“Wake up, open your eyes”
”WAKE UP, RAIN”

Rain’s eyes snapped open; a length of his dark hair fell before his face.

It wasn’t that long before…

More importantly, where am I…?

Blood stained the walls of the room he was in, even more blood seeped through cracks in the rock walls, slowly moving towards the ground. The room reeked of rotting flesh and blood.

The smell of death.

There was a tablet on the wall, with ancient characters. It was old and worn, he moved slowly towards it. His jacket moved with him, he stopped and looked upon himself.

Where… did these clothes come from? … I wasn’t wearing this when Raisha…

Raisha!

He looked around and called out her name. Screaming her name at the top of his lungs.
The whispers surrounded him once again.

”Stop…”
”Do you see…”
”… The tablet? Do you see?”
”Go over… walk over to it”
”Go over to it…”

Rain heeded the words of the whispers, and moved over to the stone tablet. The whispers doubled in volume…

”Destiny… your”
”Your destiny… accept destiny”
”It’s yours… accept your destiny…”

Rain couldn’t understand a thing, on the tablet. An ancient language, too ancient, beyond Rain’s current knowledge. He stepped back, and looked up at the ceiling, which was stained crimson.

”What is my destiny… I.. I don’t understand this. Where am I?!”

A dark and heavy voice crept through the whispers. A shadow, floating in mid-air, crept around the boy, encircling him…

”It’s your destiny, Rain… it tells that you will be the one to kill the key keeper to hell.”

”Why would I want to kill him… or it…?”

The shadow laughed.

”Did you not see what he did to your sister? Ah… the delicate and sweet Raisha, turned by the one Lord of the Vampires.”

Rain grew angry, but still scared at his surroundings.

”Where is my sister?!”

”At his side,” the shadow responded, “where he wanted her.”

Rain looked down for a second, and then looked at the shadow.

”… How do I kill him?”

It laughed again.

It explained that Rain wouldn’t have been able to kill him before, that’s why he’s here now.

”And where is here?”

”You’re in Hell.”

Rain’s eyes widened, he looked around at the walls. This time they were changing, the walls were different, there were faces engraved on them, faces that showed expressions of pain and suffering, all stained crimson.
The shadow cackled.

”Go back to your foolish Earth, kill the keeper with your new…. abilities, and bring me the key, otherwise, you spend your eternity here, in this room.”

”… Wait… why do you want the key to hell anyway? You live here!”

”DO NOT QUESTION MY MOTIVE, BOY! JUST DO IT!”

***

Rain blinked. He was in front of huge castle doors, wooden and dark. He looked upward, the soft snow fell on his face, but he didn’t shiver. The doors creaked open on their own, cracking and moaning, as if they hadn’t been open for ages.

The sight that greeted him, filled him with perplex confusion.

A woman, grey gown, long black hair, almost pale complexion, running towards him.

She called out his name.

”Rain!”

She extended her arms and jumped into his.

It can’t be…. he thought, Raisha…?

She held him tight.

”How are you still alive? What happened to you?”

Rain was utterly speechless. He felt her warm breath on his neck.

”Rain..? Where are the bite marks I gave you…?”

His mouth opened, eyes widened. What had happened the night he died, it was real.
Rain grabbed her neck, and slammed her up against one of the doors. He looked up at her, as she bared her fangs, and looked down on him, grinning. She snarled and writhed.
Rain bared his fangs as she did hers, he was a vampire now, strong enough to bring down this ‘key keeper’.

She grinned even more when she saw his fangs.

”So… you joined your sister in the vampire world!”

Rain looked up at her, tears about to flow from his gold eyes.

”I’m stronger than any vampire…,” He gritted his teeth, “and you’re not my sister anymore.”

He twisted his hand sideways, and broke her neck. Rain broke a piece of wood from the door and sent it through her heart. He lifted her up, and walked to the entrance of the main room with her. With his new strength, he flung her body through the doors, smashing them open. The Vampire Lord behind the doors leapt up, startled. Rain pounced on him, and drove a stake from the remains of the doors into the Vampire Lord’s heart.

That was too easy…

He looked down on his victim. Who was shaking as words escaped his mouth, he was… smiling.

”You fool,” He started, “I’ve been waiting for this day… when I would no longer be the key to hell… That’s right… you see the key, quivering before you… the person who destroys the key, becomes the key… the key allows the devil himself to walk the earth, he didn’t know I was actually the key!”

He raised his eyebrows, smiling a little.
Rain looked at him, and narrowed his eyes.

”Hahahaa…Demon from Heaven, Angel from Hell, now the king of Hell is after you… start running, boy…”

***The Child***

He wasn’t always this cheerful. He was once a silent, serious person who always gave off the air of dark mystery and death. That was until he encountered a duo of vampires once in his travels. These two had ‘recruited’ Rain into attacking and breaking part of an organization called D.A.M. (Demons Are Monsters). Just before the attack began, a vampire-mother was murdered in front of her young daughters by one of the members of DAM, making them orphans. During the fighting the Rain and Vanyel had kept the two young vampire-girls safe from harm. After the chaos, the two vampires decided to take care of the young ones, even though that would mean that they would be splitting the sisters up.

Rain took the older one, Jessica Black, with him.

He wanted her to trust him, and as a result, he practiced being a little more social, and more fun to be around. It took a while, but the personality he had adopted made her warm up to him, making her see him as more of a brother than a father-figure. Rain himself thought of her more as a sister, but told people that she was his daughter. She stuck with him for years, making that personality stick, as well.

…It was foul play. They were separated for a few brief moments in a dangerous old city in the dead of night. Even though he was fast, he wasn’t fast enough. Rain arrived too late to save her neck from being ripped away and all her precious blood drained by a rogue vampire.

She was eighteen at that time.

But he loved her so much…

*** The Ascension ***

He doesn't know why... It was a stupid thing to do. A deal with with the Devil himself. A deal that would endanger the world as a result of just one possibly selfish act.

One life for another. That was the bargain.

It was only after the key had opened the locks, and the locks had opened the gates, he realized what he had done. Six angels had broken the laws of Heaven to save his soul from being tossed into flames all because they had perfect reason.

Alexiel. Rosiel. Sylver. Arinel. Orinth. Denya.

All Archangels. All realized the mistake Rain had made and that he would want to make up for it. They had watched him all his life. Cried when he had cried, smiled when he had laughed. They knew him. And they knew that he had something to love, someone to protect. Rain was going to atone for his mistake even if it means thwarting death itself and at the same time, it would grant him time to be with the ones he loves, his sister included.

The six broke the Covenant that was held up for centuries. They fused Rain's soul with that of a Grim Angel, transforming his body. In doing so, they took something precious from him as a price for his folly and for his rebirth; his relationship with the one he wanted to bring back. He was only allowed to see and interact with Jessica once every century (or lifetime, basically).

Rain awoke in the place that he had died. His four black wings on his back, the swords in his hand. The majority of Lucifer's minions had escaped into the world. Since the key was used, the gates couldn't feed on it anymore, so they began to close. The key was useless now, even if he were to be used again.

With one last look with purple eyes and a menacing grin behind him, he walked out through the gates just as they closed.

The six angels that had helped him had been cast down to Earth, to live the rest of their eternity suffering along with the suffering. Rain is now an anomaly. He was supposed to be dead, but since death did not befall him at the appointed time, the Angel of Death now hunts him. Azrael, the only black winged angel put into service. Although reluctant because he knows that Rain closed the gates, he has no other choice. Every time he catches up to Rain, he comes close to overpowering him, but then, he begins to hold back, allowing Rain to defeat him.

Rain sought out the six angels, hoping that they would know of ways to stop the demons that had escaped from hell. They knew of none, but they prompted him to find his reformed sister, at which point they'll realize what they need to do.

Together they would make a formidable, if not unbeatable team. He also searches for his now grown-up daughter, the one who he had rescued and not seen in century.

“A lifetime searching is worth it even if I only see her once.”

Re: Insaney's Sane Characters

Raisha Seraph
The new breed of Reaper

Pre-Rain's Ascension

After Rain's Ascension:
Full Name: Raisha Seraph

Also Known As: Hell’s Bride, Bloodwing angel, Ai, Rai, Aisha. (Goes by Aisha or Ai most of the time)

Age: Sometime after her first century, she stopped counting. Although her appearance gives off the illusion that she looks twenty-three-ish, for the most. She is a few years older than Rain.

Race: Vizard
The awakening of her Shinigami (Soul Reaper/Death God, who have the power to guide spirits to the afterlife) and Hollow (Masked demon that eats souls to sustain itself and grow stronger) sides almost simultaneously during the events of Master of the Forge forced this transformation. There are several theories on how the transformation came about, including theories by the Gods (Kurenkento, Elune) and Raisha’s Inner Hollow itself (which resembles a silver-clawed black panther with three long tails).

A Vizard is a Shinigami that has gained Hollow powers and mask (which can be donned willfully by a process called ‘horo-ki’ or ‘Hollowification). Vizards are the anti-thesis of Arrancars (born when a Hollow removes its mask and gains Shinigami powers) and are not to be confused with them.

Sex: Female.

Hair: Gold as her eyes and loose. Its length reaches just past her shoulders.

Eyes: Gold, as her hair, attributed with a soulless gaze.

Weight: Due to the nature of her soul, she can alter her weight at will. She usually keeps it at one normal level (between 110lbs and 125lbs). She can also become as light as a feather. Crossing chasms was never this easy, folks!

Height: 5 feet 9 inches.

Weapons:
During her life as a Reaper, Raisha had unknowingly wielded a zanpakuto (Soul Slayer, a weapon of a Shinigami). She learnt its name during the events of Master of the Forge, which eventually made her master the weapon’s Shikai (Initial Release) and finally, its Bankai (Final Release).

Isis is the zanpakuto’s name (Egyptian Mythology: Isis was the Goddess Queen of the Underworld). The spirit of Isis resembles a young, black-haired woman in light, silk clothing. Appearance of Isis’s spirit.

In its sealed state, Isis resembles a ‘tanto’, a short Japanese knife about 1 foot long. It is kept strapped horizontally to Raisha’s back at her waist with the black handle always at her right side, so she draws it inversely.

Shikai/Initial Release: Release command: “To the ends of the Earth, Isis.” Isis transforms into something that can only be called a ‘gunblade’. It can be used as a long sword or it can transform swiftly into a gun at will. The gun fires bullets made of spiritual power.

Appearance 1: Blade
Appearance 2: Transforming
Appearance 3: Gun

Bankai/Final Release: ‘White Reaper of the Black Twin Rose’

Isis’s personality (generous and caring) allowed Raisha to achieve her Bankai soon after achieving her Shikai.

When Bankai is unleashed, Raisha dons clothes similar to that of the Grim Reaper, although the colours are inverted, so the whole suit is white with black lining. The tail of her coat is elongated and jagged at the end; it extends to almost twice her length and flows out behind her, dragging on the ground. There is also a hood that obscures the top half of her face (so usually only her lips and some of her hair that frames her face are seen). The Bankai has few ‘stages’.

Stage 1: Isis is split in two at this point; one half becomes a long, black sword with a blue edge and a handguard designed like a rose. This is wielded in her right hand. In her left palm, the design of another black rose appears with petals around her wrist as well. This acts as an ultimate shield, able to block powerful attacks with ease, and sometimes even absorb the spiritual power of an attack to convert it to energy to keep the Bankai going. Her usual speed is increased greatly, to that of ‘beyond Godspeed’. She is able to imitate Rain’s Kuzu-ryusen/Nine-headed Dragon flawlessly while attacking with it from four different directions at once. Her strength also gains a massive increase, to a point where slamming her fist against the ground creates a massive crater.

Stage 2: ‘Tenken/Heavenly Sword/Heaven’s Punishment’. Massive swords fall from the sky (resembling falling stars or comets) to where she wants them to fall (usually on the opponent) the fallen swords can act as a tall cage or as protection (when she commands them to fall to encircle the target). The swords can also act in a ‘connect the dots’ fashion to form certain types of ‘seals’. However, Isis allowed Raisha to only learn one and left the others for her to figure out herself.

~ Heaven Seal – When the swords fall in that formation and the spiritual energy flows through them, it can seal away the angelic, light or holy power of anyone within the seal (aside from the user). Beings will not be able to use any of the above mentioned powers and all beings that are able to fly are grounded (even birds) until the seal is lifted.

Raisha can still attack normally while using this stage. Only one seal can be used at a time.

Stage 3: “And The Gods Will Kneel”

Raisha begins absorbing the spiritual particles she used during the second stage of her bankai (so the more swords she called, the more particles she pulls in, the stronger this last stage will be) and combines it with her own, compressing them both into a massive, black scythe. The scythe extends from the handle of the sword with the sword’s blade still intact and the scythe’s blade at the opposite end. She can wield the scythe expertly, but needs both hands to do so. The rose petals on her left palm that acted as her shield move to her back. The rose petals then act as a ‘counter’, they begin disappearing one by one when the scythe is out for a certain amount of time. When the last one disappears, Raisha is forced to unleash the massive buildup of spiritual power. Raisha can unleash this at any time during the third stage, but only once, then Isis reverts to its sealed form. The release of immensely pressured, white spiritual power is immeasurably destructive, capable of leveling a massive mountain or more.

The number of petals on her back depends on the amount of spiritual particles she absorbed. The more spiritual particles, the less petals. When she has the Vizard mask on, the blast is mostly white, but filled with black lightning bolts or sparks and its destructive power is increased tenfold.

Armour: None.

Strengths: She can cross chasms (by ‘walking on air’ because of her altered weight) and traps that are set off by weight become void. Aisha is also bloodless, (hence her pale outward appearance) She can be cut, bruised, or beaten to near death, but she won’t suffer from blood loss. Her looks and near emotionless-ness grant her the power of deception. When wounded with normal weapons, she can heal almost instantly. Her speed, due to her altering weight, can also rival that of Rain’s. She doesn’t need to eat or sleep, but finds comfort in doing so. She has realized that her altering weight can acrobatically enhance her movements, thus making her harder to hit and making her perform even more impossible feats such as running across or up walls. She has heightened observational skills and her memory is eidetic.
Being a Vizard greatly enhances both her strength and speed, especially when she puts on the mask.

Weaknesses: Holy weapons and magic form her main weaknesses; just a touch alone will cause a burn with such intensity, that she might have to retreat from the battle in order to heal. Wounds from these weapons and magic take much more energy and time to heal. Healing normal wounds also take a little time, and no energy. If she is beaten relentlessly, she won’t have time to heal. Also, if she is caught off-guard by the wind while casually moving around while she’s feather-weight, she can -literally- be blown away.

Magic/Skills:
Reiatsu/Spiritual Power/Spiritual Pressure: Almost every being has Reiatsu, although those beings that are not ‘attuned’ to the spiritual will have only a little and will be unable to use it. Reiatsu can be sensed and pinpointed to a particular person or thing; it can also be controlled, used like an energy source, or used in different attacks or defenses, or even to heal. When using a large amount of Reiatsu, it can be seen. Her Reiatsu is mainly white/light blue. However, when she dons the mask, her Reiatsu changes to a mix of her own and a Hollow’s; in this case the colour mix turns to black/red. Also, when the mask is on, it increases her Reiatsu power and output almost tenfold.

Raisha can now harness and control the massive amount of spiritual power that she has absorbed over the years; she appears to have exert almost complete control over it, able to use it in various ways (similar to that of Zorlo’s Aura, however, the two are completely different) such as being able to create a miniature hurricane that spun in the opposite direction to Zorlo’s move of the same name. Her spiritual pressure is so powerful that if she chooses to go full power and release all of it, inanimate objects (with no spiritual pressure or resistance) around her can pushed back or lifted up, her power also has the ability to create massive tremors in the earth. She can implement the power in various ways:
  • *Sky Stride Upgrade – Raisha can use her spiritual power to harden spiritual particles under her feet when in the air. So she can literally walk on air with almost no effort. She can also propel herself with this power, but is not able to achieve swift flight (she can only push herself a little way forward, like one hundred metres or so).

*Paralyze – If she emits a lot of Reiatsu at one time and forces it to spread out over the surrounding area, she can forcibly paralyze anyone who has a lower Reiatsu than the level she’s emitting. Even Rain was unable to move during this, but it should be noted that Raisha had on her Vizard mask at the time.

*Heal – Since she can regenerate rapidly on her own, she can use Reiatsu to heal others’ wounds. The more severe the wound, the more Reiatsu she has to use.

*Shield – She can gather up power in front of her to create a shield than literally halt almost any magical attack. It was powerful enough to stop the Moon Goddess Elune’s Runeblast in its tracks. However, it should be noted that Elune fired the Runeblast at half its full power and Raisha was wearing her Vizard mask at the time.

*Hierro/Steel Skin/Iron – Refers to her hardened skin, which is a result of her compressed spiritual power. While Raisha’s skin is strong enough to block even released zanpakutō bare-handed, it is by no means impenetrable. People with higher Reiatsu or powerful magical attacks can easily get through. Raisha can only use this while her zanpkuto is sealed.

She can also use Reiatsu to imitate certain moves that requires a shot of power, or something similar. For example, she can imitate Zorlo’s ‘Aura Getsuga’ by using her own spiritual power in place of Aura.

Horo-ki/Hollowification: By moving her hand across her face, she can don her Vizard mask. It vastly augments her strength, stamina, speed and Reiatsu, increasing them greatly, to a point where she is able to surpass Rain’s Godspeed (this is without her Bankai). When she dons the mask, she also gains the powers of a Hollow, but can only have the mask on for a minute or so at a time before the mask shatters and she’s drained:
  • *Balla/Hollow Bullet -- The technique hardens the user's spiritual pressure and fires like a bullet. Though weaker than a cero blast, it moves twenty times faster and can be fired at a much higher rate.

*Cero/Hollow Flash/Zero -- High-powered, massive energy blasts that can be fired from various body parts, such as the hand or fingers. Raisha can mainly fire it from her hands or fists. Her Cero is extremely accurate, powerful and destructive. It was able to swallow up Elune’s half-powered Runeblast and still have enough energy to destroy part of Elune’s own shield and disintegrate the peak of Reorx’s mountain. The blast is coloured in black/red, similar to the colour of her Reiatsu while the mask is on. She can also perform a Cero Sincrético/United Hollow Flash/Synchronized Zero by powering two Cero using both hands.

*Garganta/Black Cavity: Tears open dimensional fabric separating worlds (this is how the Hollows themselves move to their world, Hueco Mundo). Raisha can use this to teleport; however, this is both physically and mentally draining, even for her. Hueco Mundo is not to be confused with Hell. Hollows as well as Arrancar reside in Hueco Mundo, which is a ‘space’ of sorts that exists between Earth and Heaven.

The Harvest: (Magic: Mysticism | Absorption) This one is fairly basic, and most used. When she kills someone, just before they die, their soul is extracted and absorbed. She just needs to put her palm facing the victim, and will the soul to come forth. The victim dies instantly afterwards. She still uses this to this day, but very rarely and mostly on criminals who get on her bad side.

Hemorrhage: (Magic: Illusion) This is a weak spell, which only lasts a little less than a minute. The person she uses it on will see himself or herself in Aisha’s place. So it’ll be much like the victim is looking into a mirror. The only difference is that the ‘reflection’ is battered, bruised, and bleeding all over. Remember, it’s all an illusion.

Bloodwing: (Magic: Destruction) A more powerful spell than the previous two. Her hands must be totally free, meaning she can’t be holding anything.. She puts both of her palms outwards, facing the victim, and emits a blast of heat that blows the opponent and everything surrounding him backwards. The way Aisha positions her hands (wrist against wrist, with palms facing the victim, fingers not touching each other) and the crimson colour of the blast as soon as it is released from her hands gives the spell its name.

Soul Seeker: (Magic: Alteration) A magic spell of a Soul Reaper. This changes Aisha’s vision and makes her almost completely blind. The only things she’ll see are the silhouette of creatures and humans who have souls. If the creature is at full health, the silhouette is faint. If the creature is near death, the silhouette glimmers brightly (signifying that the soul is ready to be let out after the body perishes). Her vision is not affected by obstacles such as walls or doors, she only sees the silhouettes of the people behind them, so she can tell how much people are behind a wall or other obstacle.

Bricks and Feather: (Magic: Alteration) This spell can be used any time, any where. She alters her weight with this. Her weight can go from being as heavy as a ton of bricks, or as light as a feather.

Sky Stride: (Skill) One of her most visually impressive techniques. She jumps and when she reaches her maximum height from the ground, she uses the fact that her jump has exactly canceled gravity, giving her a split second to make a second jump. Thus, this makes her appear as if she is walking in the air. This, coupled with her ability to manipulate her weight, can make her go up to an impressive height. This technique can be coupled with her imitation of Rain's 'Ryutsuisen' can make her attack devastating, although it will take longer to execute (because of the height that she'll free-fall from)

Shifting Mirror: (Skill) Aisha can copy her opponent’s every move, once she’s seen them before. For example, if she sees someone handling a sword exceptionally well, she can mimic their every move, and use it on anyone. The different moves and techniques that she observes remains in her memory, and can be used on others. Aisha cannot copy magical abilities. This ability has evolved slightly: Rai can now *imitate* the physical movement of someone that she sees. For example, she can imitate Rain's Shinsoku/Godspeed because she has seen it. However, because it's only an *imitation* it can't measure up to the real thing, therefore, she will still be slower than her brother.

Acquired Abilities:

~Rain's Shinsoku - Rain has the ability to move any part of his body as fast as light itself. Raisha, however, can only do this with her legs (which can make her run fast, but she can't move her arms to react fast like Rain can).

~Most of Rain's techniques - Moves like the Ryushosen, Ryutsuisen (which is more potent than Rain's because of her ability to change her weight) and the Ryukansen. She finds it near impossible to imitate the Roku-ryusen and Ryumeisen.

~She can also imitate the 'Shiraha Dori' (White Feather catch), making her able to stop a sword in mid-swing with her bare hands.

~Zorlo’s ‘Aura Getsuga’, replacing the Aura with Reiatsu: A giant crescent wave of pure Spiritual power that cannot cut, but crushes its way through anything.
She also possesses a mediocre two-way telepathic link with her brother.

Fighting Styles:

Her fighting style is a mixture of capoiera and break dancing. Her movements are swift and erratic, making her hard to hit and her attacks hard to block or parry since her movements are simply unpredictable. This style of fighting does not work in small areas.

She is also skilled in gun-kata, where her observational skills and perfect memory comes into play.

Appearance before Rain's 'death'. (Hellfire sword included)

Present Appearance
Vizard Mask
Raisha’s Hollow Form

Personality:
Ai now shows near full human emotion, contradicting her old ways. She once thought it impossible. Now, she can cry or smile with no strings attached. Since Celestia feeds off her emotions, one cannot say that she has fully human emotions simply because she cannot display excessive anger, lust, sadness or fear. But she can display joy and love. Aisha is basically calm and sort of 'laid back'. She regrets her old life and refuses to recall it, but she still does. She remembers everything. If not for the dagger in her possession, she would have broken down a long time ago. Aisha can also be said to have a condition called Hyperthymesia, although she does not display the first of the two distinct characteristics of it. She is now a lot calmer than before, using her time to meditate or read, just to keep her new fountain of enormous, seemingly never-ending power intact and in control.

Biography:
She remembered it all.

Rain’s hand against her neck. The strength he held in his fingers as her neck twisted out of place before it snapped. But even then she was still alive, she felt everything. Pain and suffering caused by her fatal injury as well as the suffering of her infuriated heartbeat. How she wished that it would just stop, that it would all stop. Then she felt it. Something sharp against her chest, and suddenly, it ripped through her skin, rupturing veins and grating its way to her heart.

And then… it all stopped.

Even as her eyelids struggled to remain open, she saw the darkness cloud her eyesight. Tension in her muscles ceased, her hand fell lifeless to the floor, touching the cold sanguine liquid that flowed from her heart.

She remembered everything.

Aisha closed her eyes as she remembered the sickening crackle of the bones in her neck as they snapped back into place. She ran her now ghostly pale hand up her once flowing white dress, up to the gaping tear in it. Her fingers touched her skin there, feeling no mark of a wooden stake being there at all. The only evidence that remained were her ruddy dress, and the stake soaked in blood, her blood, lying on the red-stained ground.

Her bare feet shuffled through the rubble, barely lifting off the ground. For now, all that she could think about was the moment when her brother drove the stake through her heart. Her mind felt shattered, it descended into total turmoil. Aisha denied the memory all she could, but it kept coming back to her. She felt blinded somehow, and her feelings overshadowed her eyes. Her eyes saw nothing but black now, she unconsciously quickened her pace.

Her walk broke into a run. She stumbled over stones and twigs in her path, she could not see them. Her feet and toes blistered and bruised, Aisha fell over out of exhaustion, bruising her knees when she did. Her confusion was increased further when her wounds tingled as they healed. Her breathing increased, but the associated increase of the speed of her heartbeat was not felt. Aisha’s hand found its way over her chest, but there was no vibrating of her chest. It only rose and fell as breaths were inhaled and exhaled.

She turned abruptly. A faint glimmer had caught her eyes. Aisha held her breath as the glimmering silhouette seemed to turn towards her. The crackling of twigs and grating of stones met her ears as the silhouette moved slowly towards her. The creature in the darkness leaned over her, inspecting her with its hidden eyes. Aisha propelled herself back slightly with her arms and feet. It followed her movements, and suddenly, she felt something warm touch her waist gently

Get away from me.

She gritted her teeth as her hands pushed outward, attempting to knock back her assailant. She succeeded, but much more than she had expected. Her hands emitted a simmering burst of air, throwing the silhouette backwards. In the midst of this, she saw the darkness fading away. Like a squid’s ink in water, the black clouds rolled off her eyes, almost blinding her with daylight. Aisha’s eyes adjusted to the light as they searched around her. Sight fell upon what -or rather, who- the silhouette was. Standing up, Aisha put out her hand, and moved slowly towards the body of a boy. He seemed to be no older than sixteen, dressed in rags, a short steel sword gripped tightly by his fingers.

She stopped.

Something warm pressed against the palm of her outstretched hand. A warm breeze filled her body and surrounded her. Her eyes closed as she inhaled it, and it felt as if the warmness fused with her own fragmented soul. Unconsciously, her tongue stretched outwards and caressed her lips, making them slightly moist. Her first taste of a soul. Ai bent over, and uncurled the boy’s fingers from around the hilt of his sword. She had no idea what it was she did, or why she did it.

But she craved more.

Blinded by this new and odd craving, Aisha sifted through the brush until she found a path through the trees that might take her somewhere. As she prodded along the path, she did so without aim, without any sort of motivation. Life left her eyes, the gold in them became dull.

Aisha had unknowingly embraced her new life. A new, meaningless, soulless life.

A sudden clanking of steel in the distance attracted her attention. Lifting her dress slightly so her movements would not be hindered, she went swiftly and silently towards the source of the clashing. Ai stumbled upon a small encampment. There was a fire, and three teenagers sitting around it, one was a girl who held a folded, dark cloth to her chest tightly. There were two boys behind them; both held swords in their hands, practicing their swordplay. One boy’s sword caught her eye, it wasn’t dull and small like the other one, but large and ruddy, with a tint of gold wherever the light reflected off of it. He swung it around with ease as the other one parried, twirling his sword and attacking when the opening of opportunity presented itself. All were dressed in familiar rags, save for the girl’s boots, which were dark, like the folded cloth, but shiny. Aisha hid nearby and observed their movements intently, but her attention was taken from them when a boy that sat near the fire began to speak.

"Hehe, Kati," He chuckled, talking to the girl, "Do you like the dress and boots we stole for you?"

Kati nodded with a small smile, "Mmhm!"

"Happy birthday, Kati."

"Thank you... very much." She responded softly, nodding and smiling ever so slightly.

Their celebration was interrupted by the slow movement of footsteps near them. The sitting boys shot up and drew their swords hastily, the girl being left to sit back and watch. The two boys who were practicing went behind the intruder, while the two who were at the fire stood at the front. Aisha was not moved by their enclosure, instead, she kept staring straight ahead. They seemed to be intimidated by her. Intimidated by the sword in her hand, by her bloody dress, her silence, her dead stare. Finally, one of them took the initiative and stuttered to her.

"L..Look lady, if you don’t leave now, we-… we’ll have to kill you!"

Ai remembered what she felt when she was on the ground, clasping her chest. She gritted her teeth slightly, tilting her lips a little. Her eyes still holding a vacant gaze, she twirled the sword in her hand, just like how the boy twirled his when he was practicing.

"I’m already dead."

Gravel grated rhythmically underfoot as one of the boys rushed in from the left. He held his steel sword upright, yelling something short of a war cry. Aisha turned to him, and blocked each of his attacks, imitating the technique that she had observed before. Uttering a cry of surprise at her knowledge of his attacks, he left himself open for a few full seconds. Another cry escaped his lips, but it ended abruptly as Ai’s sword went deeper into his skull. Letting go of the hilt, Aisha put her palm towards the falling boy and touched her lips with her tongue, expecting to feel what she had felt before. The boy’s feet lifted off the ground as his soul was pulled from the body. The soul extracted, Ai wrapped her fingers around the handle of the sword which she had just sent through the boy’s skull. A sickening grating sound of bone and steel echoed slightly as the sword was ripped from his head. Kati shrieked at the gory sight as she backed away slowly from the group. This time, Ai swung to her right, clashing blades with the decorated sword.

"Think you can withstand Hellfire?" The boy grunted through gritted teeth.

Her sword began to crack as he pressed down on her makeshift shield. In a last effort, she swung horizontally, breaking both the boy’s pressing attack and her steel blade in one swift, strong movement. Ai put her hand to the side, as she stared straight ahead, seemingly over the boy who stumbled backwards. Her fingers relaxed, allowing the broken sword to fall noisily near her feet. The fresh stench of blood seemed to thicken the air. It filled nostrils and throats, choking those who breathed it in slightly. Ai didn’t move a muscle, subtly waiting to be attacked.

"Come into my parlor." Said the spider to the fly.

The remaining three boys remained a good distance away. It never did dawn on them that running would be a grand idea right now. Kati, huddled near the fire, shifted uneasily, crushing some dried leaves while she did. The silence broke, and the boys’ attention shifted to the slight noise. Aisha quickly put her wrists together, and faced her palms toward the boy who had just attacked her. He flew backwards, releasing his sword in the process. Ai bent her knees as her hand picked up her new sword with the greatest of ease. The tip of it scraped against the ground, and made a distinct continuing ping as it left the dirt. The boy who had first held that blade was unconscious.

She would deal with him later.

Ai started towards Kati, with a quicker, more normal pace than she had used before. The remaining two boys attempted to block her path and protect the girl. They huddled together in front of her, both their swords upright, facing her, both shaking severely from fear. Ai swung the sword upward fiercely and abruptly, severing one boy’s wrists. Both screamed as her attack continued horizontally, causing both screams to end swiftly. Aisha turned her attention towards the young girl, Kati, whose eyes were bulging from fright. She sweated uncontrollably, the fire she was near to didn’t seem to help her in any way.

As Aisha began to advance slowly, Kati began to plead.

"Please, miss! I’m an orphan, it’s my birthday, please don’t kill me, I don’t want to die..."

At this point, tears began to flow. Kati’s hands trembled as she struggled to wipe them away.

Her scream began to rise in volume, but it was forcefully cut short.

***

Days became weeks.

Weeks became months.

Distance treaded turned into miles.

Various techniques and her own abilities mastered, Ai found herself walking from town to town. Her craving became a dying flame, she harvested what she needed more smartly now, and not in a blind hunger-driven rampage as before. She still killed, sometimes it was anyone she came across. Men, women and children. None of them were spared. She cut down the authorities when they dared to confront her about her misdeeds. Guilt and regret were never felt. Ai became near emotionless.

She felt no heart in her.

She would have never guessed what would happen on a fated day.

The sun began to set as Ai stood at the centre of a dusty town. Her sword sheathed across her back, and her eyes still dull and lifeless. No one dared to look straight into her eyes, to be honest, the townspeople were intimidated by her. Ai set her eyes for her vision to descend into darkness. The silhouette’s of the townspeople flitted by, most of them faint, some of them ready to gleam. But there was one, just one, which was exceptionally faint. The glimmer of the silhouette was even less than a perfectly healthy newborn. Ai tilted her head slightly at this one. She blinked, forcing her sight back to normality.

Ai suddenly rushed forward, her lips slightly apart, and her eyes moist with tears. She wrapped her arms around the person from behind, and buried her face in his back, crying.

"Rain…" She cried.

Rain’s eyes widened, her voice in his ear. He turned his face to look at the girl who held him.

"Raisha…? Is it you…?"

She released him from her grasp, and looked up into his eyes, wiping her face and nodding to answer the question.

"I missed you…" She sighed through parted lips.

"Oh, Rai…"

"I’ll kill you!" Ai screamed, hastily drawing her sword and swinging it viciously at him. Her eyes closed, her eyelids pushed out tears which fell like stars unto the dust. This was it. Her mind descended into total chaos, one half of her cried uncontrollably while the other viciously tried to unleash it’s rage. Rain was caught in her sudden flurry of attacks, he felt the sword slice cleanly into his shoulder. If he hadn’t jumped back when he did, his arm would’ve been severed completely. He held his wound tightly as he landed, too surprised to speak. Aisha looked at him, crying afresh, she gritted her teeth. Her wrists together, and her fingers apart, she spoke softly.

"I’m sorry…"

She closed her eyes as the heat exploded from her hands, sending Rain backwards harshly.

Her tears were left behind when she turned and ran.

She kept running till she collapsed. Ai remained on the ground for a little while, her eyes closed as she concentrated on dismissing each and every thought of her brother. She sat up, on the verge of succeeding in her mental battle, she wiped her eyes gently.

"Miss!"

Her thoughts interrupted by a strange voice. She turned to face a middle-aged woman, finely dressed in expensive clothes.

"Miss. Where did you get that dress? I was robbed of a dress similar to this one while buying it. I paid good money for it."

Aisha stood up, looking away from the person slightly. Her eyes were no longer shining, their dull state had returned.

"Miss, are you listening to me?! That dress is mine."

"Oh, I’m sorry. You won’t be needing it." Ai’s hand clasped her sword’s hilt. The smooth sound of Hellfire scraping against its sheath filled her ear as it was slowly drawn.

*** The Ascension ***

She felt it. Like a stab to her throat. It seared her heart. She felt her brother's heart stop beating. The gates of Hell had opened at the cost of her brother's life. And there was war. Not physically, with sword and shield, but a mental battle within her. Aisha almost completely lost her sanity, the two opposing sides within her were now fighting for absolute power. The one that wanted revenge fought the side that wanted her to make peace. The immense pressure on her mind caused her to lash out at anyone and anything violently. Her sword at that time, had the power to sense and react to her current feelings, it screeched and vibrated at each of her swings until the blade eventually shattered before her eyes. Her focus unknowingly shifted to her broken sword. Ai knelt and began picking up the pieces that were big enough to hold, placing them on the red cape of the last life she had claimed.

The last innocent she will ever kill.

Aisha carried the shards of the sword wherever she wandered. She wandered mindlessly, her cheeks almost always wet with tears. Aisha had folded the cape over the shards and had never stopped to open it after she first placed the pieces. After weeks of wandering, she eventually realized that her mind became calm a while after her sword broke. For the first time in centuries, she honestly smiled, dropping the red bundle in her arms. When it hit the ground, Aisha's ears only received one 'clank', and not a 'jingle' which it should have been. She carefully opened the red cape and beheld a glowing dagger, which sparkled like the stars until it was in her fingers. Aisha immediately felt bound to it. She picked up the cape, the dust of her old sword glittering as it endlessly fell from the material. Even to this day, the red, glittering dust falls from the cape that she wears on her left shoulder. Her mind settled, she ventures off into a new world, seeing through different eyes.

Re: Insaney's Sane Characters

Lady Destiny
The future of us all

Name: Lady Destiny

Age: As old as time itself.

Race: Impossible to say. She only looks human, but she’s something totally different.

Gender: Female

Height: 5 feet, 11 inches

Weight: 138lbs

Weapons: Her cards. They aren’t weapons by themselves, but they form weapons. Two main types, a short spear and a sword. When in use, they are thin, light, very sturdy and very sharp. The cards do not lose their colour or patterns when the weapons are formed and only take a second to make. The cards used to make them are random, and do not have any effects on the weapons themselves (in other words, the only things that aren’t normal about these weapons are the way they look).

Spear ~ It’s about three feet long, excluding the sharp tip. The cards are rolled up with their patterns outside and attached to the ends of each other to form the handle. The tip is made up of a few folded cards.

Sword ~ The blade is about two and a half feet long. The handle is made up of three cards, rolled up with patterns outside, attached end to end. The blade is made up of flat cards, once again, attached end to end, with the last card at the tip folded in a such a way to give the sword a ‘point’. The hand guard is four flat cards facing upward.

Armour: None

Strengths: She is very quick, strong (way above average human strength) and confident. She can unlock doors, chests, and similar items just by touching them and thinking about it. She can also use her cards as shields if need be. She is a very good liar, and can disguise herself easily by putting on another’s clothes no matter how big or small (even if the clothes is designed for a male person, her magic will make it fit as if it were made to fit her specifically). She is very curious about how things work, which could be a strength if she recalls what she learned in the time that it’s needed. She doesn’t give up that easily, even if she’s really out classed. Also, the Tarot cards she possesses have no limit. Destiny knows the name of everyone and everything, but she doesn’t know what they can do.

Weaknesses: Her confidence, coupled with her curiosity can get her into trouble. She’s very dependant on her cards so she’s almost entirely useless if you get her into unarmed combat. She doesn’t know very much about fighting styles or techniques. She just knows that she’s ‘good’ with her sword and spear. A person trained in fighting arts may easily over power her.

Magic/Skills:
~Sword and Lance. (Described in ‘Weapons’ section)

~Shield – She can spread her cards from either hand to form an instant shield to block an attack. The shield of cards is spread very much like the way that a dealer or a magician would rest the deck face down on the table, and spread all the cards in one swift movement. The only difference is that the cards won’t be facing downwards (like in a magician’s trick), they will be facing the attacker. The shields stop attacks in their tracks (magical or physical) and disintegrate afterwards. However, Destiny can use this little trick to her heart’s content.

~For a little fun, she can spread her cards about however she wanted, anywhere she wanted. There is no limit. For example, if she’s in a maze, she can leave cards floating behind her so that she could find her way back if she needed to. The cards in this state, however, are not as sturdy as when she uses them as a weapon or shield. They can be knocked aside with good enough force, or even be plucked out of the air by a curious someone.

~For a little more fun: any clothes that Destiny wears are instantly tailored by her magic to specifically suit her. The magic cleans the clothes as well and also sews up any tears.

~Flipping the Hourglass - This is the magic/skill that she has the least control over and it only happens when it is needed (ie, when she's killed or receives a fatal injury). Time stops when she has 'died' and rewinds to either a few minutes or a few hours or days before it happened (depending on which choice led her where). She will still have all the knowledge she had gained right up until the time of 'death' so she'll be able to make different choices now, hopefully avoiding her death.

~Double Layer Limit (Skill) – This is Destiny’s ace in the hole if she’s caught off-guard in unarmed combat. She can only do this with her right hand, as she thinks her left hand won’t be able to execute it fast enough. Everything has a resistance. When attacked normally, an object’s resistance reacts so that it counters the attack, so most of the energy used to attack is wasted. However, if a second attack came instantly after the first, that resistance would be broken and the object would receive the full force of the attack. What this skill is, is a punch divided into two parts. The first strike is made with the tips of the fingers bent inward, so that the tips of each finger touch the base of each finger. The second strike is delivered by the knuckle within 1/10 of a second after the initial strike, thus piercing the object’s resistance. It is strong enough to disintegrate rocks, or leave an average person unconscious.

Appearance

Personality: She’s quiet, very quiet. It’s very hard to get something out of her. Usually, she’ll only open up if she asks a question about something she doesn’t understand. She is curious, often venturing off on her own to places that people don’t normally go (she wants to know why people don’t normally go there ). Destiny is very confident. Sometimes she’ll get into a fight even though she knows she may not win. But she’ll never get into a fight that she knows she cannot win. She has faith in her abilities, but almost always does not trust in the ability of others. She is afraid to trust others, actually, mostly because she doesn’t know what they can do or if they’re intending to hurt her. Friends are a rarity for her. Destiny is bisexual. She *is* destiny, which means she's not going to bother if it's a guy or a girl she falls in love with.

Biography:
(Written in first person)

***

”I was never conceived. Never born. Never had a being to call a mother nor something to call a father. My siblings and I have no idea of how we came to be. All we know, is that, when we began, everything began.

My brother is Time. The Universe, my sister. And I, I am Destiny, the path that lays before every single thing that the Universe contains. Time pushes these beings along the set paths until they can no longer walk them. As Destiny, it is part of my occupation to see that these beings do not stray from their paths as Time moves on.

Time did its job; the Universe created the heavenly bodies that you see when you look up at the night sky. Everything and everything upon them were our children. We watched over them. It was all working perfectly, despite the complexities. Until one day, all of our attention was drawn to a small, but thriving planet called Earth.

Before us, there lay a baby boy and a baby girl. Their paths were not set and could not be set. I tried, over and over again, while my brother became furious, panicking because of this event. This had never happened before. Time demanded an explanation that Destiny could not have given. This went on for years. My sister kept watch over everything, while my brother became enveloped in blaming me for something this extraordinary.

The boy and the girl grew. Until one night, the girl did not come back home, the boy went looking for her. When he finally found her, she embraced him and then he disappeared off the face of the Earth. We located him hours later, in cold snow, miles away from where he had disappeared. After a moment, the girl appeared, he attacked her. My brother faltered, the flow of time stopped around them both. Soon after, the boy left. The girl awoke from the dead and wandered away, seemingly lost in the world.

You already know their stories.

This is my own.”

My brother had tried to restart their clocks, but time around them refused to move. They became like some of the other mortals, their clocks stopped, but they continued to walk the Earth. But those were expected, the paths for them were already written and they moved along them without question. This was the second abnormality and my brother’s last nerve. Again, he blamed me for this. Things got worse when my sister, who normally stayed away from arguing, sided with him. They wanted me to be punished for not being able to perform my job. I felt they wanted to replace me.

I could not speak against them, because it all happened too fast. My powers began diminishing. My punishment? Walk among the beings of this Earth and find the boy and the girl. As their clocks had both stopped and they were still alive, they would not die so easily. My new job was to find them both, follow them and if they get into a situation where they should have died, finish them off. Initially, I was given a century to do this, but each time I let an opportunity slip by, a thousand years would be added to my ‘sentence’.

My brother and sister disguised me as a falling star and sent me spiraling downwards. I don’t know how long I remained like that, months, possibly years. I was in a sleeping state all through the trip, but I heard all of the wishes directed towards me. The last one that I heard before I hit the ground stayed with me all these years.

”Hey…A falling star…”

A young girl’s voice.

”Hm?”

”Don’t just stand there gawking, Rain! Make a wish before it goes away.”

I wish…that…my sister was here…and all three of us would be like this. Together…like a real family.

The girl’s voice was soft. It wasn’t the boy’s sister at all.

I didn’t know when I had landed. I awoke, but couldn’t move for a while. Fingers and toes and skin and eyes. The ability to touch and feel the dew covered grass and cold dirt. These were all new to me. It took me a while before I could have stood up, even then I could not walk properly. For a few moments, I was content with crawling around on all fours. I felt a cold wind sweep over me. Every inch of my body tingled. That was when I realized I was naked. This was the first time I ever felt embarrassed, although, there was no one there and the night was pitch black.

During my embarrassment ‘phase’, I unknowingly took a few steps forward. I smiled to myself. Getting the hang of my limbs was tough, but I was getting there. Soon after, I could have run in circles without falling flat on my face. Realizing that I could move about how I want now, I began walking toward almost any sound I heard, hoping this would lead me somewhere…anywhere.

By morning, I found myself just on the outskirts of a small town. Still naked, I ran towards the back of a large building and pressed my back against the boards, breathing heavily, a little nervous about interacting with beings that I’ve only watched before.

There was a door to my right, it was opened slightly. There were scratches all over it. Long, deep, menacing scratches. The door creaked when I pressed my hand against it. I looked inside. It was a tavern, but it looked as if the owners didn’t open the place yet. There were still chairs overturned on the tables, some of these were knocked over, some were broken and packed in a corner. There was a staircase to the left of the bar, supposedly leading towards rooms that patrons paid to stay in overnight, or for however long they wanted to stay.

I took this opportunity to enter and creep up the stairs. There was no one in the hallway at the top. The only odd thing was a door that was slightly cracked open. This door had similar scratches as the one from down stairs, only, they went straight through the door: the room inside was visible through them. I entered this room, immediately facing the large broken window which was opposite the entrance. The moment the door clicked behind me, I heard footsteps from outside it.

Leaning on the frame, I looked through one of the cuts in the door. There was nothing to be seen, only voices to be heard. There were two of them, a man and a woman.

”When are you going to fix those two doors and the window? It’s been months!”

She sounded angry enough, but the man just chuckled. The woman scowled and entered the room next door. I heard her moving around inside, then I heard her door click. She walked right past the room with the scratched door, the man following behind her. I watched their shadows move down the stairs from the room. As soon as they were gone, I moved towards the door to the lady’s room. I put my hand on the doorknob, only to realize that she had locked the door. At that instant, the feeling in my hand began to vanish rapidly. It was numb for less than a second, the lock on the door clicked and the door slowly creaked opened. I was taken aback at first, until I realized that the room was empty.

In no time at all, I was upon the wardrobe, fishing out suits of clothes. I came upon this one, the one that I wear now. When I put it on, it was bigger than me. I decided it was better than anything. For a split second my whole body went numb, then I noticed the clothes that were to big for me, fit me perfectly. No, my body hadn’t grown to fit, the clothes had shrunk to fit me!

For a while, I sat on the bed and tugged curiously at my clothes. I took off my gloves, but they did not revert to their normal sizes. After I put them back on, I stared at my hands. What had made the door unlock before? What made the clothes shrink to fit me? I was bewildered. I turned over both my hands and stared at my palms. My right palm started to itch, a small card slowly rose up, out of my right palm. My left hand experienced the same thing less than a second afterwards. One card from each palm. Both were Tarot cards. Their patterned sides were facing upwards, so I didn’t know what was on them, until they flipped over. On my right hand, was the card of the World. On my left, the card of La Mort, or Death. I blinked, and they disintegrated.

I blinked again, but this time, when I opened my eyes, a flurry of cards floated out of my palms. I stood up, alarmed. This was the first time I ever panicked. The cards weren’t stopping and I didn’t know how to stop them. At the time, I didn’t even know if I wanted to stop them. It only took me a few seconds to realize that they were forming a sphere around me. There were no set patterns in the way the cards were arranged, only their movements formed a pattern. The top row was moving clockwise, the row of cards below that one moved counterclockwise, while the row underneath that one moved in the same direction as the top.

In the middle of the sphere, there were a few cards lined up vertically. Below, the Devil and La Mort cards were side by side. In the exact middle of the sphere, the World card was in the middle of two Knight cards. All three were in the middle of two Star cards. Above them, near the top, the last card floated. The card that represented the Judgement.

I knew what those two Knight and Star cards meant. From that moment, I refused to hunt the two I was sent for. I felt it in my heart that my brother had started piling on the years. He took over my job, but he knows he can never fully replace me.

These cards were the future, the representation of things to come. Originally, I believed that all things that exist will be forced into extinction. The end of life is death. But that belief waned when I watched the two children with no paths set before them. I did not know what it meant, neither did my brother, which was probably what hurt him the most.

The future is not set in stone.

Re: Insaney's Sane Characters

Seth
The Flying Flame

Name: Seth Phyre

Also Known As: The Flaming Lance

Age: 19

Race: Human

Eyes: Brown

Hair: Dark red.

Height: 6 feet 3 inches

Weight: 160lbs (normally) 230lbs(When wearing his armor)

Weapons: A bright red lance with a tip made of silver. (Hence his nickname)

Armour: He wears a light, black and white mythril armour, suitable for a sky knight. It is very strong and cannot be torn easily, but it can be pierced by sharp objects.

Strengths: An expert at wielding lances, on foot or on his horse, his skill at wielding a lance is almost unparalleled. He is a quick thinker and an expert tactician.
He can play mind games with his opponents by talking smart to throw them off guard. He uses this to make his opponents angry or unfocused.

Weaknesses: He was never trained in wielding any other weapon beside the lance and javelin. He is extremely weak at wielding a sword or axe. Also, he feels that he cannot fight without his red lance, he says that it has the right ‘feel’ for him. Because of this, his lance becomes a sell-out if he is trying to hide from someone or something. He has little knowledge of magic and their effect.

Magic/Skills:

The Dragonbind: The Dragonbind is a mystical, circular tattoo on the side of Ebony's (the wyvern's) neck. It protects the rider and wyvern from arrows at all times, even when on the ground and separated from one another.

After his encounter with Shinu, in the battle: The Flaming Lance and Death's Terror, he had obtained the power to call forth three types of flames at his own will. This was so because, Shinu's demon energy had fused with Rusty's demon flames, while Seth was atop the horse. His hands were closest to the fusion, so only his hands were infused with the powers. Whatever he touches with the flames can burn only if he wants it to. The power and elements of the flames depend on the state of his heart
Flames (Element: Fire):
Seth's heart must be calm. These are just normal flames, which can't causes much damage to fire, or water based beings. Makes for a good, quick barbeque too.

Shadowflame (Element: Darkness/Shadow):
His heart must be filled with anger, vengeance, or hatred. Does terrible damage to beings of the light element, causing unnatural wounds and burns, withering the flesh. The flames are coloured black.

Angelflame (Element: Light):
The knight's heart must be filled with righteousness, passion, and nobility. Protecting the innocent instead of harming the guilty. The bright white flames does mass damage to dark/shadow element beings, also causing extremely unnatural burns and withering of the flesh.
Appearance:
Face

Upper Body

Ebony, his wyvern.

Personality: Seth is a firm believer in breaking the rules to do what he feels is right. He is a carefree soul like his friend, Raven. Although, sometimes he takes the breaking of the rules too far. He relies on lady luck one too many times, and each time his luck comes through. He can be sometimes hot headed and ignorant, but he regrets being that way, and so, he is quick to apologize. He has a strong belief in protecting his friends and family. He is a knight, killing people is in his job, but he feels an incredible amount of guilt if he kills an innocent person. Brave and true, he will stand on the frontlines of any war to save or uphold the good of any kingdom.

Character Biography: Seth was born into a family of knights, even his mother was a famed knight. He had two brothers, also knights. He was the youngest of the three. His father was skilled at fighting with a lance and sword. From the time Seth was ten, his father started to train him at wielding both sword and lance, but, Seth was never interested in holding something as short as a knight’s sword. He concentrated on honing his skills at lance wielding.

The first time he met Raven was when he was sixteen years old, Raven was fifteen. They both met up at a small village near the castle town. It was night, the villagers were in a rage; some of them had found a small horse that they thought had belonged to the devil. The horse was a dark brown and it had demonic red eyes. Raven was practicing his sword wielding in tranquility when he had heard the raucous in the village. Seth was spending some time with his friends at a nearby inn. They both saw the horse being detained. The villagers were stoning it and shouting remarks such as;

“Burn the devil!”

“It will destroy us all!”

Seth readied his iron lance and ran into the midst of everything attempting to free the bound horse. He was late, the only thing he saw when he got there was a green tinted blade flash in the moonlight as it rose up and sliced the ropes that bound the horse. The figure with the blade grabbed Seth, who was about to be stoned for the interruption and both mounted the horse and with a quick slap to the horses rear, it took off. The horse rode on for a while before they found a grove of trees to rest in. The two looked at each other.

“You’re Raven! I’ve heard about you.” Seth remarked.

Raven chuckled, “Is that good or bad?”

Seth laughed a bit before introducing himself. He then asked about what they were going to do with the horse. If they allow it to go free, the villagers would surely find it again. Raven thought that Seth should keep it.

“What?!”

“Well, Seth, you should keep the horse, it looks perfectly normal, and I already have a horse.”

“Well, I suppose…”

With those words, Seth led the horse to his stables. The normal horses were frightened and they neighed and kicked with fury. Neither Seth nor Raven knew that the horse was a demon. Seth told his parents about the horse and that he decided to keep it, since he needed a horse of his own. The name that was given to the horse, Rusty, was because of the horse’s brown colour while all other valiant steeds were white or black. With his new companion, Seth began training harder, honing his skills with the lance on the horse. One day, kept at the training, but something happened, the horse burst into flames while he was aboard. Seth was amazed, he watched the fire flow around him, he watched his clothes that were on fire, but it did neither him nor his apparel any harm. Rusty slowed down and the fire died. The horse kneeled forcing the young knight to get off. Seth could see the horse was tired, so he let it rest. To add to his amazement, his father presented him with his red lance, and asked him for a name. A name that would be revered. For example, Seth’s mother’s name was ‘The Silver Shield’, his father’s was ‘The Shadowed Knight’. Seth thought for a moment, he spied the red lance, and he remembered Rusty.

“The Flaming Lance.”

“A fitting name,” his father replied, “for the one who will be wielding that lance.”

Two years later, he had heard of his friend’s departure from Taraine. Hurt by this, Seth decided to go after him, as, in those two years that passed, they have been through much together. They were more than friends, they were brothers. Seth dropped his armor, armed with only his lance and his mind; he set out to find his friend. Seth had left Rusty behind, and made a promise that he will come back someday.

***
He had settled down for a while. Not seeking out battles, not responding when Taraine called for him. Rusty was too old now, it aged faster than humans and within the span of a few months he was too brittle to participate in battle. Seth cared for Rusty until he received a letter from the empire that he could not ignore.

He set out for home and infiltrated Taraine’s castle to find out the truth. The letter had said that his home had been taken over by a tyrant, Raven’s father. Seth decided that he would get the help of the neighbouring kingdom which was preparing for war. He also decided to not find and involve Raven in this, as it may be too painful for him to come back to this.

During his time with the other kingdom of Riviran, he was introduced to a fairly new set of knights who rode tame wyverns into battle. This was where he met and was bound with Ebony, his wyvern. He also found that he had a knack for riding in the sky, causing Ebony to warm up to him faster.

***

While preparing for the war just outside Taraine, he encountered Raven and Arina, who wanted to join forces with Riviran’s army. Seth’s superior agreed to let them in. In the battle, Arina, Seth and Raven fought the king of Taraine in the skies. In a risky move, Raven found himself upon his father’s wyvern, but instead of killing his father directly, he killed the beast instead.

He was rescued by Arina and Seth. They watched the king’s wyvern crash into the earth with the king still on it.

After the battle, Raven was proclaimed to be the new king, but his love for adventuring made him turn over the title to Seth instead. Seth would be known as king until Princess Laurania was wed. He also established the Court Ranks, and the people gave the warriors their titles.

Re: Insaney's Sane Characters

Eden Ataraxia Winters
Torment the mind.

Name: Eden Ataraxia Marseilles Winters

( Ataraxia: ‘peace of mind’, ‘tranquility’.)

Aliases: Winter, Axia, and Mint/Minty if you really want to get on her bad side.

Age: Over 23 years.

Race: Human, but a curse was etched into her early on in her life. The curse gives her longevity and other abilities which shall be explained later on.

Sex: Female

Hair: Straight and long. White. She was once a redhead, but the curse turned her hair to the colour it is now.

Eyes: Mint green.

Height: 5 feet 7 inches.

Weight: 132lbs.

Weapons:
Shattered Angel: An abnormally large revolver made up of a material called Innocence, a holy ore. Her father shaped the ore into the gun and her mother helped activate the power of the Innocence. The revolver is an extremely powerful weapon, the bullets never need to be reloaded (even though shells fall out of the gun after it is fired) but needs a second or two to ‘recover’ or ‘recharge’ after all the shots have been fired. Any ‘unholy’ being standing up to this weapon will be dealt great damage, having been hit by raw holy power. Shattered Angel cannot be destroyed in any way. The gun is also able to have different ‘levels’ of functions called ‘Purging Levels’:

Purging Level 0: Straight Shot – Like a normal revolver. Normal firing rate and handling.

Purging Level 1: Rapid Fire – It enables the weapon to fire all six bullets in rapid succession. It makes it seem (and sound) as if only one bullet has been fired, when actually, all six bullets have been shot.

Purging Level 2: Twisted Split – The gun clones itself temporarily. Although the power of the guns is now half of the original, the speed of fire is the same. None of the other Purging Levels (aside from Rapid Fire) can be activated at this time.

Purging Level 3: Revolving Wind – The bullets are fired a lot slower than usual. They also move through the air slower. To make up for the speed cut, the air around the bullets begins to ‘ripple’ visibly. If the bullet hits the target, a larger, rounder wound is made instead of a smaller bullet hole.

Purging Level 4: Arrow of Angelic Sin – A powerful, single-shot mode. A large demonic-looking structure forms over the gun with a single hole for the shot. Eden pulls back a ‘string’ made of Innocence and uses the whole structure like a bow. The single, powerful arrow of light shot out hits only what Eden wants it to hit. The Arrow can disintegrate lesser (ie. very weak) demons in one shot, while powerful demons and other beings are only burned badly. Only one arrow can be shot at a time. And it takes longer to fire an arrow than use bullets.

Broken Butterfly: An EDM Arms Windrunner XM 107 Tactical. A bolt-action, magazine-fed sniper rifle chambered for the Browning Machine Gun cartridge (.50 Cal. BMG.). The rifle can be differentiated from all others in the fact that it can be taken-down into 5 pieces or assembled, without any tools, in less than 1 minute. The complete take-down overall length is less than 32 inches. It’s carried (along with ammo) in a neat, black briefcase that has the shape of half of a butterfly (hence the name) engraved on the top right-hand corner on both sides. The other briefcase with the other half of the butterfly was destroyed long ago. The gun itself is normal, meaning that it isn’t modified magically or physically.

Excalibur – Chained in Fate: The legendary sword itself. The blade always shines brightly with a golden light. However, due to Eden not being a ‘chosen’ wielder, its full power cannot be implemented. As a result, when the sword is drawn, numerous chains appear and wrap themselves around the blade. The chains’ lengths are seemingly infinite, as they create more links if one tries to remove them from around the sword. The chains will sometimes bind themselves to Eden’s arm or connect to the walls and floor of an area, forming a formidable ‘web’ with the sword suspended upright in the middle.

Avalon – Extinguished Flame: Excalibur’s scabbard, which supposedly has the power to heal any wound and make its holder immortal. However, that power now seems non-existent. Instead, Avalon’s only use is healing other people (and not Eden) of any wound they can sustain, even if it’s fatal. Avalon also plays a part in helping Eden’s body reject the curse; when the curse’s ‘presence’ reaches its potential and takes over Eden’s body for a while, Avalon ‘resets’ the presence, making Eden’s body normal again. It cannot destroy the curse totally.

Inventory:
She always keeps a few things with her (aside from weapons), these include:

-Bullets for the Broken Butterfly, which she keeps in the same briefcase. Since the gun is not modified, the bullets can be bought if she runs out of ammo.

-The other half of the mask. It’s just a mirrored version of the one she has now, with a narrow hole cut out for her to see through. She sometimes puts this on when entering a fight.

-A carton of cigarettes. Always.

-A box of matches. They’re rather loud when she strikes them.

-A cigarette lighter. It’s small, sleek and silver. Used when the matches finish or if they get wet. Refillable.

Strengths:
Because of the curse’s effect on her eye (the world’s movements are sort of ‘slower’ to her sight), she can aim flawlessly with her guns or move to dodge a fast attack just in time. She takes mental ‘snapshots’ twice as fast as a normal human would. Another effect of the curse; her body can take immense amounts of damage and she’ll still be able to move, attack and dodge without much trouble (at some point in her biography, she brought down half of a stone mansion on herself when she created her companion, and was able to get up and walk away). Eden is naturally graceful, agile and swift, trained to handle different ammunition by her father (who wanted a son rather than a daughter), and trained in the basics of Piguaquan by her mother.

Weaknesses:
First of all, although she wields a holy weapon, she actually takes a lot of damage from holy/light magic because of the curse. Holy/light magic bypasses the curse’s ‘endurance’ and slowly eats away at her body even after being hit. The wound will stop eating away and will heal over time. The curse’s presence (described by her as ‘The Darkness’) will increase every time she takes a blow, especially a supposedly fatal one. The Darkness will be seen by herself only when she looks into a mirror or reflective surface. Because of the mask covering the right side of her face, she is unable to see anything on that side of her body. She is also totally blind in the dark, even when some light is present, bright light (a single torch won’t help) is needed. She is also extremely dependent on Avalon to keep her curse in check, which forms a weak point.

The Darkness/Skills/Magic:
The Darkness – Harmonious Nightmare: When the curse’s presence reaches it’s full, Eden is engulfed mentally and physically by a dark form called a ‘Nightmare’. Physically, she is covered in shadow by a hooded cloak, so much so that none of her features are distinguishable, even if you shine a light to her face, the light would be seemingly absorbed by an ‘abyss’. Nothing can touch her at this point; a sword would slash nothing and a bullet would go straight through her. Also, at that moment, Eden will exist no more on that ‘plane’, replaced by that silent form of darkness. This Nightmare can attack and move of its own accord, slashing with claws that cut deeply and burn at the same time.

Eden herself will be transported to a different ‘plane of reality’ that is exactly the same, but filled with other forms of Nightmares. The Nightmares attack her relentlessly, inflicting great physical pain each time they land a blow, until she succumbs and is pulled back to the original reality, in her normal form, where she experiences suffering and pain like no other. She’ll be unable to move, or even blink without feeling severe pain. At this point, without Avalon, she’ll be unable to recover; if she falls asleep, the Nightmares would attack again, starting another cycle of pain. Avalon stops the cycle after she’s brought back, so she only experiences pain for a while afterward. Since the curse gives her longevity, it was meant to give her an eternal life of pain and suffering.

The Darkness – Dormant Dream: When the curse is dormant, Eden is normal, save for the fact that the ‘abyss’ still exists on the right side of her face (hence the half-mask) and her body’s endurance and longevity. Any attack directed at the right side of her face will have the same effect as when the Nightmare takes over; it’ll go straight through. If she takes off the mask and tries to view the abyss in the mirror, she will see the right side of her face as normal, while the rest of her body as an abyss (basically an ‘inverted image’). Occasionally, the image in the reflection will speak in a language that Eden cannot understand, and is not recorded in any library or website, anywhere.

Magic – Ragnarok -- Fate of the Gods:

“The sun has been devoured, the moon is no more. The stars have burnt out; the world shivers in the darkness. The fate of all Gods is decided, Ragnarok has been unleashed.”

—Translation of the characters on Excalibur’s blade.

When chanted once while Excalibur is out, the sword’s sturdy Chains of Fate stretch out and attach themselves to their surroundings so that the sword is suspended upright in the middle of the web of chains. Excalibur begins to pulse repeatedly, sending out numerous golden embers as far as the eye can see. Each golden ember becomes a replica of a weapon from legend or myth. The weapons remain suspended in the air, all pointing towards the center, towards Excalibur. The weapons remain suspended in mid-air and can be used to stand on (if you’ve got the balance) or they can be plucked out of the air and wielded. Anyone within Ragnarok’s range can use the weapons it brings out. Legendary weapons such as Mjolnir (Thor’s hammer), Gungner (Odin’s Spear), Gae Bolg (the lightning spear from Irish mythology) and the Claiomh Solais (The Sword of Light, also from Irish mythology) are among thousands of other weapons replicated by Ragnarok’s golden embers.

Skills: Eden is versed in the basics of her mother’s fighting style, Piguaquan, which focus on fluent and graceful attacks that rely on combinations rather than attacks with raw power. She is also no pushover when it comes to fixing certain devices and machinery.

Appearance (with Avalon and her half-mask):

Personality:
If you were to put her into a category of ‘alignment’, the most fitting classification would be ‘Chaotic Neutral’; Eden is an individualist who follows her own goals. Or just that one: to rid herself of the curse and be ‘normal’ again. She typically acts out of self-interest, but doesn’t necessarily enjoy seeing others suffer, so despite her willingness to kill, she does not necessarily do it for enjoyment. Eden usually dismisses any form of authority and she has no qualms about breaking any law. She can be crafty and devious, but can also demonstrate a capacity for moral thinking. Sometimes, her actions will border on the odd to the extremely insane, believing that she cannot die so easily. Eden is also a heavy smoker, but not much of a drinker.

Because of the trials she’s been through her personality has hardened instead of making her insecure. It is in such a way that nothing seems to really excite or scare her anymore. Eden rarely speaks or smiles, but can force a good pretend smile if she has to; as seemingly nothing can really make her smile. She is also bisexual, but attracted to women more so than men. Eden also shows great care for Ticker, her companion, and treats it as more of a pet than a tool.

Themesongs:
Soundgarden – “Blow Up The Outside World”.

Biography:

Excalibur’s History:

Just before his death, King Arthur ordered his loyal servant to return Excalibur to the one who gave the legendary sword to him: Vivian, the Lady of the Lake. Instead of destroying the sword, Vivian kept it, so that it could be bestowed upon another worthy king. However, many years came and went, and she found none as worthy as the former king. Decades more would come and go; Excalibur’s history would become legend, the ‘Legend of King Arthur’, the ‘Legend of the Sword in the Stone’. People soon stopped believing in things like the legendary sword and the Lady of the Lake.

Vivian decided that she would go dormant, so she entrusted the sword to a woman (known only as “The Keeper”) whose duty was to keep Excalibur until the sword stopped glowing, which would mean that a worthy ruler has ascended to the throne. The Lady warned the Keeper that if the sword was drawn out and blood touches its blade before that time, a curse of nightmares would plague Vivian and the Keeper’s descendants. Years continued to pass by, the Keeper handing down the responsibility of the sword to her descendants, who, in turn, gave it to their descendants. It was only a matter of time before one would forget to pass on the knowledge of the curse and blood would fall unto the blade.

Vivian’s descendants began to suffer from hellish nightmares. The Keeper’s family was wiped out in a war. It was revealed that a child in every seventh generation would have it the worst, being inflicted with both physical and mental pain. Excalibur’s ownership changed numerous times, finding its way back to Vivian’s final descendant.

Avalon’s History:

A little simpler than Excalibur’s; the scabbard was stolen from King Arthur before his final battle. Eden’s mother is a descendant of one of the thieves.

Eden’s History:

Eden and her twin sister, Eve, were born into an odd family. Their mother was a woman who knew an ancient Chinese fighting style and dabbled in sorcery. Their father was part of the military; a military scientist, to be exact, but he knew how to handle his guns. The father was disappointed, having two daughters and no son, but the mother was happy. As they grew, their mother taught them some of her skills, including some of her black arts, while their father taught them sciences and ammunition.

Their father had his own laboratory in their old stone mansion where he kept his experiments and secrets (including Excalibur, which his wife did not know about). It was there that he created the Shattered Angel, from powerful, holy, angelic ore called Innocence, which he had experimented on earlier. The two girls broke into his lab (using their mother’s sorcery. It was good practice) numerous times, coming across the hidden Excalibur and the gun made from Innocence. It was after Eve touched Excalibur for the first time when she began to experience nightmares, night after night. She began to lose sleep and strength, until eventually, she couldn’t take it anymore.

Eve’s suicide weighed greatly on the family, and the curse was transferred to Eden, who, even at her sister’s funeral, was more angry than sad. She did not cry. The curse now began to take its toll on Eden. Not knowing what to do, Eden’s mother bestowed Avalon upon her, which seemed to quell the curse. The father locked himself up in the laboratory, not wanting to face the problems in his family, only coming out at night to crawl into bed. During those nights, Eden used to creep down to the lab and break in, confident that he was researching and working on some sort of cure. This was when she found out the translation of the markings on Excalibur’s blade, and other documents that proved that her father was ignoring the family almost completely.

She found letters and notes in his date book that implied that he was having an affair, even before Eve’s death. Aside from the affair, when he was not meeting the woman, he was working, developing miniature ‘Golems’ that would act as spies for the military. Unfortunately, he couldn’t animate them. Out of curiosity, Eden decided to make an attempt to animate one of them using her mother’s magic. The result was an explosion so powerful that it destroyed the lab and almost everything in it (the other butterfly briefcase included), bringing almost half of the stone mansion down on her. The explosion also blew off half of her face, revealing the abyss beneath.

When she finally climbed out of the rubble, she didn’t come out alone. Eden was followed by a small, silver ball with wings and a long tail, Ticker, which would become a faithful companion from then on. Despite the massive damage she received, she was still strong enough to push away large stones and then get up and walk as if nothing had happened.

Thinking that she had lost another daughter, Eden’s mother started making preparations to do away with her own life. Before she could finish, however, Eden came in at the same time. Her mother was happy for a small while, before looking into the abyss for too long. She lost her mind right there, the depth of the abyss driving her mad, provoking her to hang herself right in front of her daughter. Not wanting this to happen to her father, she locked herself away in her room with some materials and tools from the destroyed lab, along with Excalibur, Avalon and Ticker. There she made two halves of a mask, one for the right side of her face and one for the left, which had a hole cut out for her to see through.

When she went to find her father afterwards, she found that he had shot himself. The note he left behind explained that he couldn’t handle the guilt of destroying his own family. It was then that she decided to leave the place in an attempt to leave most of these memories behind. After taking all of the items that were valuable to her, she set fire to the mansion and walked away without shedding a tear.

She was fourteen when her sister died, eighteen when her mother hanged herself and just turned nineteen when she left her home.

******

Name: Ticker/Tick-Tick

Age: Four years

Race: Miniature flying golem. Made from silver and animated by magic.

Gender: None.

Weight: Extremely light, less than 1 lb.

Height: About two inches tall.

Wingspan: A little more than one foot from the tip of one wing to the other.

Tail length: Two feet.

Strengths:
This little bugger is airborne, swift and stealthy. It can be used to spy or deliver messages. Even though it is light and can be destroyed in one direct hit, it can rebuild itself just as easily. And even so, Ticker is extremely hard to hit, just like a fly, which makes it an expert at annoying anyone.

Weaknesses: Ticker is small and delicate, and although it can understand humans perfectly, it sometimes isn’t very bright when it comes to some circumstances. Humans can’t really understand it, even Eden has some trouble. It sometimes wanders off on its own, and can get lost, even if it’s not far from Eden herself.

Appearance:

Not seen: A large mouth with very sharp teeth.

Skills/Magic:
Shapeshift: Its ‘face’ (above its mouth) can morph into various small images or icons to help communicate. For example, when it changes into an exclamation mark, it means surprise or danger.

Rebirth: If it is destroyed, it crumbles into small rocks. After a small while the rocks pull themselves together, reforming the golem. Ticker can also crumble at will and rebuild itself whenever it likes.

Black Hole: This little golem has a massive appetite, eating things as large as tables and chairs in one go, without stopping. The hardest thing it can eat and digest is iron.

Other than changing the shape of its face to communicate, it ‘speaks’ in clicks and whistles. Even though it can’t speak human languages, it can speak to other animals perfectly. It can also fly at very high speeds, but only in a straight line, it has to slow down a lot before it can turn.

Personality:
Ticker is fiercely loyal to its master, but also enjoys the freedom that Eden gives it. Usually when Eden meets other people, it will hang around those it likes, sometimes sitting on their shoulder and becoming their temporary companion until Eden is ready to move on again. When it is with its master, it will either be sitting on her shoulder or hiding inside her clothes. It can sometimes be crafty in complicated situations, but when it comes to simple situations, it’s not very intelligent. For example, it would fly repeatedly into a glass window before realizing that it has to find another way. Ticker can also cackle or giggle audibly when it’s happy, but only shiver when it’s sad or angry.

Re: Insaney's Sane Characters

Alexi Tyran
Black Ops Assassin

Name: Alexi (Alex-see) Raylin Tyran

Age: 24

Race: Quasi-immortal (Cannot die—or cannot be kept dead unless certain conditions are met. Quasi-immortals DO age, however, and eventually die of old age.)

Occupation: Part of a group called “SanctorVista”, government-sanctioned assassins who carry out special “Black-Ops” missions. Each assassin in the group has a different trait or set of traits that make them perfect for special jobs. Since Alexi is a quasi-immortal, he is charged with daylight/extremely dangerous jobs.

Gender: Male

Hair: Dark brown

Eyes: Brown

Height: 5 Feet, 9 inches

Weight: 148lbs

Weapons:
Dysme (black) and Aurora (silver) (Dusk, in Greek and Dawn in Latin, respectively). Both powerful, heavily modified, semi-automatic. They are strong enough to keep a person floating in the air if the bullets fired in timed succession. Alexi wields them with great efficiency and extreme accuracy and prefers to use them than to use sniper rifles, since a single headshot from Dysme or Aurora can put someone out of their misery. Each gun has the SanctorVista symbol on their handles.

CRKT M-16 pocket knife just for backup. He can be extremely deadly with this, even more so than he would be with a katana, and as a result can usually overcome an opponent with one using just this knife.

His fists and legs can also be classified as lethal weapons. He IS an expert in unarmed combat and is able to disable a strong opponent within a second or two. Although, his movements show that he focuses on grace, fluid, chained manoeuvres and speed rather than strength.

Strengths:
Alexi is an amazing, extremely agile and efficient fighter, whether wielding knives or guns, he moves swift and his attacks are accurate. There is little room for failure. He fights with grace and his attacks are fluid. He takes being “like water” to heart, and as a result, can easily backstab someone because of his always friendly disposition, even to his enemies. Because of his quasi-immortality, he cannot die, even if he’s blown apart from the inside out. However, the more damage done is the more time it will take to heal, and the blood he lost during that damage would need to come back to him. For example, if he was blown apart from the inside out, all of his pieces and blood would have to gather (they crawl back by themselves), and...that could take quite some time. His eyes are also dubbed "eagle eyes" since they can see much farther than the normal eyes could, this is how he's able to 'snipe' with his pistols.

Weaknesses:
Alexi, after all, is still susceptible to pain and damage. Even though he can regenerate, it takes some time depending on the damage, and even if he’s still ‘alive’ after the damage is done, he can still feel pain and might not be able to move depending on where you damage him. If for some reason he’s wounded or ‘killed’ he cannot regenerate if his blood is somehow taken away and kept sealed. He is almost over-confident because of his abilities, and even though his attacks are graceful and deadly, he places some emphasis on flair and style when fighting. He also has extremely bad luck when it comes to bets and games of chance.

Skills:
Gunslinger: Alexi wields his guns, or any gun for that matter, efficiently. His eyes are sharp and able to view quite far--and doesn't really need a sniper to take down a far-off target. He is extremely skilled with Gun Kata, a firearm-based martial art. The concept is described as so:
"Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, the gunslinger has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically-predictable element. The Gun Kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents, while keeping the defender clear of the statistically-traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 120%. The difference of a 63% increased lethal proficiency makes the master of the Gun Kata an adversary not to be taken lightly."
Flair: He emphasises on style when fighting, especially close-ranged combat, even with guns. He is agile and swift to match, and can imitate to an extent, the moves that parkour practitioners do. He can imitate it, but is not extremely skilled at them, and sometimes will fall flat on his face and wait for his broken nose to regenerate.

Appearance:

Along with the SanctorVista symbol he has tattooed on his back. He also carries cellphones that break continuously, mostly by accident; since he’s always getting shot at/falling/diving into water, he’s always had to replace his cellphone, which is one thing he receives orders from. The other things are payphones, but cellphones are more convenient.

He also drives a red, heavily modified and tweaked Audi Locust Concept.

Personality:
Alexi is incredibly unflappable, never seeming to be outwardly fazed by anything. He always seemingly has a friendly and cheery disposition, even in the face of his enemies, where his attitude and his sometimes sarcastic or optimistic lines become insults. Generally, he is witty, sometimes mouthing off to the most powerful enemies, even with that smile on his face.

“Like water; it can move and flow gracefully—nothing is softer than water, yet it can overcome the rock. It can be calm at one moment and then come down in torrents the next.”

Although he places extreme emphasis on style and grace when fighting/gunslinging, he is not very vain, but cares about how he looks; usually buying new clothes right after a job. He’ll walk right into the store even if there’s blood on his clothes. Friends can become his targets quite easily, once he’s asked to target them. It is then where he gets the job done without toying or hesitating. Alexi enjoys his job—he enjoys killing...to an extent. He can also be classified as a vigilante other than an assassin and will readily help other people by fighting off their attackers, or even stopping robberies. He won’t kill when being a vigilante, unless the person asking for it was about to do something really bad (like rape or murder), instead, he’d just disable them with a few unarmed moves. However, if the person is a target, he will readily kill them: man or woman. Children are entirely off his list. He is also polite enough to grant some last requests from his targets, but they’d have to be small requests, or requests that make an impact (like researching to find out something pertaining to the job). Alexi also has no qualms about breaking any law, and will gladly do so to do his job. Getting in trouble with the police is just a minor bump in the road. He also has the tendency of using different foreign languages when talking, or even in the midst of an English sentence; but small words like oui, si, da, non and others.

Bio:
Sometimes I ask myself... “Why am I standing here, smirking... in the middle of the road, in the dead of night?” The answer is always simple, but I like to ask the question, anyway. It gives me something to think about. Hm? No, I’m not a homeless person, it’s not like that. The streetlights are pretty dim, but if you look at my clothes, they’re not at all dirty or torn. My car’s over there, parked behind that old advertising billboard.

The vehicles blowing past feel really good, and there’s hardly any noise except when there’s some guy quarrelling or honking for me to get off the white line. I don’t respond, but smile as they go past... they’re not really worth paying attention to right now.

Hmm... I wish my radio was here to sing along to.

What’s that...? More about me?

I’m sorry, that’s... classified.

...

Alright, alright. I see you’re really persistent. I suppose I could tell you a story, I think I have the time.

My name is Alexi Raylin Tyran and I was born in the year... Wait, no, those things are classified, too. I could tell you to forget my name, but it doesn’t really matter; you won’t find a trace of me anywhere. Just think of me as a...part of the government. Let’s see...

I grew up on the streets. Parents...? I don’t know, they abandoned me somewhere... I didn’t have a name, but I learned to fight on the streets; knife fights, mostly. It helped to protect yourself from the bigger fish in the pond. Anyway, you’re living on the streets, you see some crazy ****. Crooked cops were the worst, though. They kept it up until they earned the sharp end of my rusty old knife when I was ten, at least.

Well that didn’t go unheard of, and they took me in. It turns out, a set of the fancy, higher up... ‘government agents’ were in the station that day. When I broke free, they tried to stop me and I took them out with the least moves. It took a good few men to hold this little kid down and a few more to knock me out. When I came to, the agent had taken me into this white room.

Yes, sounds cliché, I know.

But they had a rematch with me. All at once. I beat them all again without them laying a hand on me.

Others were observing me, they insisted that I had ‘potential’, but they’d have to straighten me up first, and give me a name. So... I was adopted into a family, and they gave me my current name. It wasn’t very hard to teach me manners and educate me a little, I was a good learner.

At sixteen they took me to train me... but...they didn’t have to train me much. I already grasped unarmed combat and knives, and agility pretty well. They just expanded on those while teaching me to be efficient with computers and a variety of guns.

But...that’s not the reason I got this ‘job’. When I was younger, before the knife fighting, I had taken refuge in an old, burnt out building that was in an alleyway. In the ruins there were bottles of some liquor... apparently saved when some beams criss-crossed over the crate and saved it from falling debris.

The bottles looked old... at least a few decades old. I, in my naivety, thought I could kill myself by drinking till I burst open. It turned out that this wasn’t really liquor... but it did keep me out of commission for a good few days.

As for what the liquor did to me, that’s classified.

But the effect of the liquor, along with my acquired skills bumped my position up along the ranks until I was finally this person.

My first job was Al-Raab Naraulim. Dealing with the Russians for... stuff, you don’t need to know. He was quite easy, too. Hm? You thought this should be top secret info? Al-Raab—search for him anywhere, you won’t find a trace. It’s perfectly fine to talk about people who don’t exist anymore.

My first bullet didn’t kill him... this allowed him to tell me something. I took what he said and researched it myself: the Russians were dealing with other people... the people who had adopted me. As a result, my parents were the next target.

I paid them a friendly visit.

Fast forward a few jobs and years: now, I’m here.

That’s good enough for you?

No? Well I—oh, hang on. It’s time to finish this.

Aurora does well for night jobs. I can see it in the dim lights, at least. And... The truck’s coming... One shot, the target flops over onto the steering wheel and his weight turns it right or left.

Takes a second to stretch out my arm and aim... and at this moment, I am God. I hold the fate of another in my hand. It’s too bad... because if I delve deeper into that thought, I am not God at all... I’m just following orders.

And with that...

BANG!

Ah... the shouts and screeching of the truck tires. The massive creaking of the huge trailer overturning and crashing as the other drivers honk horns and shout, slamming their brakes. Well...that’s over with. I should get going... I have to intercept my next target in a few hours.

What’s that? You’re going to expose me? Tell the world what I did—what I’m doing?

Go ahead; it’s okay to talk about people who don’t exist, right?

Re: Insaney's Sane Characters

Near Matthew Cronqvist
The Crown Clown

Real Name: None. (You’ll see why)

Assumed Identity: Near Matthew Cronqvist

A.K.A.: King Clown, King Pierrot, Angel’s/Angelic Clown, Crown Pierrot, Crown Clown.

Age: Unknown, even to him. (Appears to be around eighteen or nineteen)

Race: Appears to be human, but he’s actually a manifestation of raw holy/light power, made up of something called Innocence. Innocence is a holy material, which brims with power. Sometimes people are born with it already in their bodies (like in the biography, Mathias’ left arm) or they can be made into weapons or items which only certain people can wield. In other words, Innocence usually has a mind of its own, able to ‘choose’ its wielder or act on its own.

Sex: Appearance is male

Hair: White-ish. Chin length, but the back is sort of spiked outward. It’s soft and silky.

Eyes: Silvery-blue

Weight: 122lbs

Height: 5 feet 6 inches.

Weapon(s):

Crown Jewel: Near’s slender left arm is made up of a black material (a concentration of something called Innocence. It is the substance that Near is made up of). It encases his whole arm and extends his fingers’ ‘reaches’ by creating silvery, razor sharp ‘talons’ (see his appearance). This arm cannot be broken or shattered, neither by physical pressure nor by any sort of magic. The hand itself can be expanded to Near’s will, creating an impenetrable shield or a large weapon. Even though it is made like this, it is extremely light and easy to wield. Each talon can cut through the toughest metals and his grip can crush steel and bones alike.

When his Demented side is in play, the arm can be detached and changed into a massive zweihander sword that only Near can lift and wield with his right arm (it will seem to be too heavy for anyone else.) Demented is the only one that can willingly detach and reattach the arm, because of his high pain tolerance. This sword will be explained more in the Skills/Magic section.

When the hand is not in use, or the sword is in use, his cowl automatically drapes over his left side, covering his ‘weird looking’, or missing left arm.

Strengths: The Clown is extremely agile and swift--able to complete near impossible flips and antics without harming himself. He can also run almost as fast as the speed of sound (but cannot break the sound barrier--and he can only run that fast, not move that fast). The three different personalities that he has also act differently in combat situations. The Manic is the one that concentrates mostly on defense and evasion, having the lowest tolerance of pain, while the Demented focuses on all out attack, and has the highest tolerance of pain out of the three. The Normal is the balanced one. Calm and collected, he thinks before he acts, balancing both offense and defense perfectly. Holy or light energy used against him will make him heal at an accelerated rate, and due to his connection with a being called Chaos (the same connection that brought about the Demented), dark/shadow magic has little effect on him.

Weaknesses: The Manic is in control most of the time. This side has the lowest tolerance of pain; therefore, he’ll almost always retreat from a fight if he takes a hard blow or serious injury. Manic is also very easily distracted if the current situation is not interesting enough to hold his attention; dangerous against a seemingly dull but strong opponent. Since there is more than one personality, the Manic and the Normal sides keep fighting for control (the Demented only shows when Near takes a lot of hits, or if someone or something hurts his friends). Sometimes, when a switch between personalities takes place, it can take Near’s focus off of a situation, which can have disastrous consequences (especially if Normal is in control before Manic kicks in) When Demented is in control, Near goes into a full offense, often detaching his left arm to turn it into the sword. In this state, Near will often let the opponent land a blow just to land one of his own; this could be used against him.

Skills/Magic:

Telepathy: Near can read minds, and hear other peoples' thoughts, but can't communicate telepathically.

Punctual Fool: Using a single talon, he can rip the space time continuum, and teleport himself through time. However, he cannot go back (or go forward) a few hours, or days. He can only use it to go back or go forward decades or centuries at a time. He can also take other people with him. (This is just so that he’ll be ‘able’ to participate in almost any time/place setting in an RP)

Cross Grave: Near crucifies and annihilates his targets by etching a cross onto them with his left hand, capable of destroying lesser demons with only a single talon. The crucifix he etches explodes, engulfing the victim in pure holy light energy. The move deals little damage to holy beings or powerful demons. And the explosion itself has basically one quarter the power of a modern day grenade.

This move can also be used to heal other people (Near cannot use it to heal himself) by drawing the cross in the air, close to the person’s chest. It can heal paper cuts or make a limb regenerate.

Marionette Strings: Released from the sleeve and glove on Near's right arm, it is an ectoplasm-like flurry of ‘strings’ used to grasp objects, immobilize opponents, or form hardened spikes to impale enemies. Each strand is as thin as a fishing line, but much, much stronger.

Marionettenspieler: Using the strings, Near can have utmost control over a very weak-willed being. He doesn’t have to be very close by or above his puppet to do so. The hold is broken only when Near is very, very far away, or if the person suddenly gains the amount of strength and willpower to break free.

Crown Edge: The giant zweihander broadsword Near's left arm transmutes into. The sword can be wielded like any other, though, if the he wills it, the blade can exorcise evil from almost any vessel it strikes without any harm coming to the vessel itself. If used on a weak-ish demon, it (the demon) will explode. The sword is so large, that if it is stuck into the ground, Near can stand perfectly on the hand guard.

Clown Edge: A swipe of raw destructive power dealt with Near's full claw. If less than four talons make contact with the opponent or object, then this spell won’t activate.

Eyes of the Fool: When Near steps into an illusion (or if an illusion spell is directed at him), a masquerade-style mask appears over his eyes. It allows him to see through the illusion, making him able to discern what is real and what is not. The mask is a shimmering purple colour.

Shadowblend: When Near is in need of rest, or wants to sneak around without being noticed, he can just hop into any shadow. When this ability is used, the three personalities split up into three different entities (The Manic, Demented, and Normal) all resembling each other while in the shadow. When like this, the three can discuss a variety of subjects or plan something together or they can move through the shadows to another area. If a being is melded with the shadows, the three can interact with it. Other than that, they cannot attack or interact with anything outside of the shadows.

Near can also enter mirrors to rest and regain energy faster, but he doesn’t split up as he would in a shadow, and anyone viewing the mirror would see a slight difference between their reflection and the real thing (different coloured eyes, a grey hair, etc)

Nightsplit: If it’s night, and the area that Near is in a pitch black area, he can choose to split himself up into the three entities. It only works in pitch black areas, it won’t work where there’s a noticeable light shining.

When split up, their Tri-Cross Grave and Tri-Clown Edge moves are extremely devastating.

Shadowrun: When occupying a shadow, the three can literally *steal* it. Although, they can’t do anything much while in the shadow, it raises an alarm when someone finds their shadow missing and someone else seeing the same shadow running down the street.

Crown Cowl: The white cowl/cape around his neck can expand and contract to Near's will. It can expand to the size of a football field or contract to the size of a scarf (as seen in the picture). It also seems to have a will of its own, as it always covers his left side when his arm is down or missing, even if Near isn't thinking about it.

Crown Iris: The eye, itself, seems normal, but the scar that’s on his cheek and on his forehead is not. When there is any kind of evil that is intent on doing harm, the pentacle above his eye activates and a set of clockwork-like gears and hands appear before that left eye. The gears never touch each other, but they turn nonetheless, and the whole set seem to hold up in mid air without any kind of support, keeping in line with Near’s left eye. The thin ‘second’ hand is the fastest moving, pointing in the direction that the threat is located. The thicker and shorter ‘hour’ hand is the slowest, pointing out the level of power that the threat commands, while the longer ‘minute’ hand shows the number of threats.

The eye also makes things that are invisible to others, visible to him, such as ghosts.

Notes:
If the second hand keeps on spinning without stopping, then Near is surrounded.
If the minute hand keeps on spinning without stopping, then the number of threats is in the hundreds and/or increasing.
If the hour hand keeps on spinning without stopping, then the threat’s power is rapidly increasing, or limitless.

Appearance.
Not shown: At the base of the left side of his neck, rests the shimmering purple masquerade style mask. It is stuck there, and cannot be pulled off. It is only moved when ‘Eyes of the Fool’ is activated.

Personalities: (As you’ve read…multiple personalities)

The Normal: This side mimics the personality of his old master: Near is a genius, able to figure things out quickly. He isn’t usually curious, but he likes to learn new things. He is basically your happy-go-lucky character. Smiling and fun loving most of the time, Near is a friendly person. He’ll take friendly hits without attempting to dodge them, although he may be well aware that the attack is coming. This is the side that is the most balanced, and the smartest of the three. He fights by analytically breaking down his opponent before knowing if to go into offensive or not at all. This side and the Manic repeatedly fight for control.

The Manic: This one is hyper. He is almost always happy and grinning. Manic is almost always active; skipping, flipping or walking on his hands to any where he goes. He also has a severe case of A.D.D. and is very, very easily distracted. In battle, he goes on the defense; evading and blocking to the best of his ability. But even when he fights, he is still cheerful, as if nothing bad is happening at all. He can be distracted even in battle, which may make the opponent annoyed, which makes Manic even happier. He may seem extremely silly at first, with his odd way of responding or talking, but once in a while, a tiny intelligent side shines through. He finds joy in making new friends and acquaintances, and can be hurt badly if someone betrays him. Manic and Normal keep fighting for full control, but Manic almost always wins.

However, when the Crown Iris activates, Manic lets Normal take over, because Demented only comes out at certain times and Normal is the most capable of handling enemies.

The Demented: Only comes out when Near’s friends are threatened or hurt, or if Near takes a lot of hits. Demented will strike down almost anything or anyone (besides his friends and things close to him) in his path to get to his opponent. He doesn’t care what happens to him as long as he makes his enemies suffer and will often leave himself wide open to entice the opponent into attack, just so that he could hit them with an attack of his own. Demented is bloodthirsty when it comes to taking down someone--so much so that he seemingly becomes cannibalistic, threatening to eat eyes or brains and even going so far as to biting and ripping off pieces of flesh. You’ll know when he comes out when he reaches up suddenly on on his opponent, pinning them to a wall or piercing them with his talons. There’ll be a noticeable glint in the eyes that wasn’t there before. He’ll look up and say his greeting in a low, menacing tone:

“Well, hello…”

before going on full offensive. After his opponent is dead or fleeing, Demented will willingly give control up to the Normal side or the Manic, as he knows that he is dangerous, and has a fear of hurting the people who he cares about.

Notes:
All three can be said to have a ‘piece’ of each other.
For example, Manic can still attack or be intelligent like Normal. Normal, when the time calls for it, will take on the pain to bring about the broadsword. Demented has a piece of them both; a tiny piece, that cares and fears for those close to Near.

Biography:

((To fully understand this one’s story, we must have a look at his former master’s story.))

Near Mathias Cronqvist was born in a family of special exorcists in the early years of the first millennium. They were ‘special’ because they had control over a unique holy power called ‘Innocence’. The Innocence came in many forms, from a pair of shoes to actual body parts. Near was born with his left hand made up of concentrated Innocence, which made it seem not human at all. His arm was slender, with claw-like talons instead of fingers.

When he was growing up, Near used to try everything to hide his ‘deformed’ left arm from other people, afraid that no one would like him if they knew. Aside from that, Near was a genius in school. He was very observant and quick-thinking, sometimes making up solutions on the spot to solve problems.

When his twelfth year came, he had his first encounter with an actual possessed person. Without invocation, his left arm move for itself, impaling the possessed being and etching a cross onto its chest. Before the cross activated, however, the possessed person was able scar Near’s face, cursing him by etching a pentacle into his forehead.

Because of this curse, Near’s left eye was able to detect the movement and power of any evil being nearby.

This was it. This was destiny. He could not turn away from being an exorcist now, like the rest of his family. He had never thought about it until that moment, he had never thought about his future. But now that he did, he only saw one path.

By the time he was twenty-one, he was already a famous exorcist. He was able to control his arm and even turn it into a sword which had the power to destroy demons without destroying the vessel. And he was even able to invoke the Innocence’s power fully, changing his whole appearance. Because of how he looked when this was done, people began calling him the ‘Angelic Crowned Clown’.

It was in his twenty-third year that the Near Cronqvist that people knew would disappear forever. It was on his last exorcism. A girl, seemingly not much younger than Near himself, was said to be possessed. She wreaked havoc and attacked people without warning. When the Crown Clown finally cornered her, he swung his sword--the Crown Edge--and attempted to destroy the demon within.

However, what was inside her wasn’t a demon, nor an angel of any kind. It was something that Near had never seen before. Near was swallowed by what seemed to be a humungous purple eye and brought into complete darkness. The being inside the girl was now inside Near.

It called itself Chaos. Neither devil nor angel, but stronger than any two combined, it stole Near’s body and used it as a vessel, adding another to his collection. Near’s soul was stripped from his body and trapped in Chaos’ sword, Legion, so all that remained were the Innocence and the shell of Near Mathias Cronqvist.

Chaos found a favourite in Near’s Crown Clown power, using it to wreak havoc wherever he went. Now, the Innocence was a holy power, and using it to do such deeds took its toll; the Demented side was nurtured by this.

The Crown Clown power, along with the Demented, was stripped from Chaos when he encountered and fought against a black-winged angel who wielded two swords. Chaos tried to take the angel’s body for another vessel, but during the process, the angel triggered an explosion, interrupting the transfer, but the Innocence’s power had already switched, entering the body of the angel.

However, the angel was not entirely compatible with the Innocence, and each time he used it, he got weaker and weaker.

The final split took place when the angel encountered Chaos, in Near’s body, once more. He attempted to get the Crown Clown power back. But the Innocence refused to go, splitting from the angel who was badly weakened by that time.

The pure shock of seeing Near’s body used in such a way from a different perspective and the shock of splitting so fast created the Manic side.

The Innocence then tried to invoke the Crown Clown form by itself, which forced it to take a humanoid form, this was when it decided to take on the appearance of its former master: Near Mathias Cronqvist.

Chaos retreated when he was faced with the raw Innocence and the recovering angel.

Since then, the ‘new’ Near took on the identity of his former master and started searching for Chaos, intending to break the hold on its current favourite vessel.

After so long of being in humanoid form, the Innocence began to feel human. Emotions started to grow inside something called a ‘heart’. Remembering how his former master used to act, he adopted the personality. He felt like an actual person after all his interactions with different people, he wanted to help and protect those who showed him care. As a result, he changed the ‘Mathias’ to ‘Matthew’, but leaving the other two in memory of his former master.
Later, he found that he was affected with something called ‘Multiple Personality Disorder’, but he also found that he could see and communicate with the other personalities, especially in the shadows, or in a pitch black area. Knowing that he had such a ‘human problem’, he decided that he would not seek help to absolve it; which turned out for the better, as the different personalities helped in different situations.

Even though he thinks and has emotion; he is not human, nor does he want to be. Finally realizing that the quest to get his master back is a lost cause, all he wants to do now is keep on living.

Re: Insaney's Sane Characters

Jessica Seraphim Black
Lady of Eyes

Name: Jessica Seraphim Black.

Answers to: Jessi, Jess or Sera.

Stage name: Lady Eyes.

Occupation: Traveling magician

Age: Unknown. Birthday is March 16th, however.

Race: Class S Vampire. (Regarded as the most powerful of vampire ranks, and having at least one very unique ability and/or weakness). Lower class vampires, if they get a whiff of a Class S vampire’s scent, usually stay away. However, Jessi doesn’t mind if they try to communicate with her or not.

Sex: Female.

Hair: Short, a little longer than chin length. Shiny black with a large, dark red streak in the middle of her forehead. The ends of her hair or more silver than black.

Eyes: Silvery

Weight: 123lbs

Height: Little over 5 feet.

Weapon: A knife that’s as long as her forearm. There is no handguard, so the handle flows directly to the blade. The handle is wrapped with a thin but strong, black, long rubber-like cord with the end attached to the tip. With this, she can use it like a mid-ranged weapon or whip, able to pierce or wrap around objects from far away. The blade is made of pure silver and is narrower than a katana, and has a special sheath that is kept behind her, under her jacket and held to her body with the belt around her waist.

She can also extend each of her nails using the proteins and iron in her blood. Each talon is about a foot long and razor sharp. Using these, she can inject a liquid that had entered into her bloodstream just before into an object or person. (For example, if she drinks poison, she can inject it into someone or something before it starts to take effect, curing her instantly). Because of this, the silver (that acts somewhat like a poison) can be removed from her system without it causing any harm. If they are broken, they can be instantly re-grown at will.

Strengths: Stronger and faster than your average vampire. Her every movement appears as a quick blur. So far, the only people who are faster than her, would be Rain and his sister, Raisha. Because of the ability to extend her nails and inject substances from her own body into other beings or objects, silver does not affect her, or any other poison for that matter. She can also walk out in the sunlight as much as she pleases, he genetics having been altered by drinking Rain’s blood long ago. Also, she is a master illusionist, able to manipulate most peoples’ senses to her advantage, or for her amusement. She doesn’t drink blood anymore, because of Rain’s blood. Because she’s a vampire, she is also nocturnal.

Weakness: Crucifixes and holy water can cause severe burns. Even though she learnt how to fight from Rain, she prefers not to take a forward approach, and uses illusion to make sneak attacks, which won’t work against other magicians or illusionists, or people with clear minds and future-sight. Since she doesn’t usually change how she looks when on and off the stage, she can be easily recognized and targeted.

Skills/Magic:
Other than normal vampyric abilities (defying gravity by walking on walls/ceilings, acute sense of smell and sight, nocturnal), these are the others she possesses.

Mist Form: Perfected. She can now easily squeeze through the tiniest of cracks by turning into a thick black mist.

Iron Blood: She can extend each of her fingernails, turning them into foot-long talons using the iron and proteins in her system. Explained in the Weapons section.

Master of Illusion: This is a special ability. It enables her to manipulate peoples’ senses (mostly their eyes) so that she can make them see what she wants them to see. But she cannot make it seem like they’re someplace else. For example, she can make it seem as if she turned a playing card into two live doves, but she cannot make an illusion in which the audience is ‘placed’ somewhere else, like a beach or outer space. In other words, she can’t make the whole environment change using her tricks, only a few things or people at a time. Another example: She can make it look like a tiger is attacking her, but cannot make the room look like a jungle. She does, however, have a unique illusion which she can draw her opponents into.
  • 1000 Doors: The target is ‘transported’ to a never ending hallway with walls lined with doors (one thousand in all). The walls and floors of the hallway themselves are pitch black, with doors being a faded brown colour. The only way to escape the illusion is to open any one of the doors. Behind the door that is opened, the target will view something horrible happening to them or to ones close to them. What happens behind the door is random; the target could see himself or herself being killed in some unorthodox manner, or they could see themselves falling forever (if so, the illusion is sped up, giving the sense that time is passing and the target is getting older…or rustier…or whatever). After that is witnessed, the target is swiftly jerked back to reality.

Appearance

There is a black ribbon tied around her neck; the ends of it reach down to her thighs, and trail behind her when she moves.

Personality: Jess, having remembered what happened to her family has a soft spot for young children, and would perform minor tricks for them to make them happy. If one begins acting rudely, she’d act like a good mother and quickly set the youth straight, even if she doesn’t know his/her name. She is an extremely kind, soft spoken person. Although she can fight extremely well, she prefers to use her tricks to confuse the opponent before escaping. It takes a lot to make her fight. If one threatens a child with death, she will not hesitate to rip that person limb from limb--out of the sight of the child, of course.

On stage, Jess is almost a different person, she is much bolder, often asking for volunteers or going into the crowd to talk to people while using her illusions. If someone calls her by her real name instead of her stage name, she ignores them until her performance is over. She is as graceful on stage as she is off, smiling and bowing--she’s always a hit with the audience. If not, she’ll feel badly, and try her best to make up for it.

Themesongs:
Rod Stewart - Faith of the Heart

Biography: Jessi was born a vampire, into a family of vampires. She had a single mother and a younger sister (Elizabeth). Although they were vampires, they were not evil, drinking the blood of cows in order to survive.

At the age of nine, her mother was brutally killed right in front of her seven year old sister by a man named Ulrich, who was an agent in an organization that was against all undead and demon-kind called D.A.M. The sisters would have been murdered as well, if it weren’t for the intervention of two vampires, Rain and Vanyel.

Rain had saved Jess from Ulrich’s grasp while Vanyel had looked after her sister.

In the end, Ulrich escaped with his life alone, leaving behind the four vampires. Because they had no parents to see about the girls--their father’s whereabouts were unknown--Vanyel and Rain decided to take the girls with them, regretfully splitting the sisters up, but promising to meet up every now and then.

Rain and Jessi journeyed together for a while, both overcoming difficulties and having some peaceful times. It took a small while before she warmed up to him, as he was treating her not like a daughter, but like a sister which is why she began looking up to him as a brotherly figure, more than a fatherly one.

By the time she was eighteen, she had already mastered most of her abilities, and was just discovering her ability of illusion. She and Rain had traveled to a myriad of places, gaining great knowledge of both the world’s greatness in both dangers and pleasantness. They were brother and sister now, for all they cared.

Even so, she was heartbroken when Rain left. She had waited for him, but he did not return. In her heart, she felt it, she knew that he was dead. After a while, she decided to move out on her own, adopting a variation of Rain’s surname and using it as her middle name--so that she would never forget him.

Jessica became a traveling performer, doing various magic tricks while perfecting her illusion skill. Eventually, she started to perform her myriad of tricks in small bars or restaurants under the stage name ‘Lady Eyes’, thinking that Rain wouldn’t want her to go on just wandering. But she traveled because she was hoping to encounter Vanyel and her sister in order to give them the news.

For years she did this, never giving up hope.

She heard all the rumors, of a duo that resembled Rain and Raisha, but it was hard to believe--Rain was supposedly dead, and from what he told her, Raisha was evil--nothing like his true sister.

But subconsciously, she felt something had changed. She began traveling to where the sightings were the hottest, but it was too hard to keep track.

Often, she would say: “Please…Leave me a sign. Anything.”

Eventually, she would reunite with him and fight by his side in the oncoming battle against Chaos.

Re: Insaney's Sane Characters

Arina
Sky's the limit.

Name: Arina

Age: 18

Race: Aeoleansauria, Sauria for short. (A hidden race of magical people who has the power to turn into birds, each person can turn into only one bird that is unique to them. For example; Arina can only transform into a white falcon)

Gender: Female

Eyes: Light purple

Hair: Very long and light purple

Height: 5 feet, 3 inches
.
Weight: 109 lbs

Weapons: None

Armor: None

Strengths: (Human form) She is light, so she can jump very high and far, and run very fast, also, for some reason, she was born with a unique white glow, which can help light her way a little when traveling under the cover of night. After the accident which made her left eye permanently blind, she's practiced fighting. Basing her moves around powerful kicks instead of punches because of the lack of reliable depth perception. She has become quick on her feet and can use her wings to effectively help airborne attacks.

(Falcon form) She can fly, and her falcon form also emits the white glow. Also her eyesight is extremely sharp.

Weaknesses: In both her falcon and human forms, her bones are lightweight. Which means they can break easily, and she is easier to throw around. The white glow makes people think she is some sort of demon, she can also be easier spotted because of this. Her punches are useless since they usually fall short, her only method of fighting is her footwork. Since her left eye is blind, her reaction time on the left is slower, but she uses intuition to tell if something's coming.

Magic/Skills: Arina can use her wings (even in human form, she can stop the transformation midway.) to cause a blast of wind that pushes her attackers a little way back. She can also heal when she changes from human to bird. If she's injured as a human, she can heal herself by changing into her second form and vice versa.

Telepathy: She has developed her telepathy in such a way that she can communicate while in falcon form as well as human form with anyone. She can read minds quite well, too.

Telekinesis: Her telepathy has evolved in a way so that her mind is strong enough to manipulate nearby objects, able to lift a group (fifteen or so) of people at once and throw them across the length of a football field. Although the ability is mediocre in strength, she has been known to rarely execute short bursts of extremely powerful telekinetic blasts on the molecular level which can practically alter or destroy the molecular structure of an object.

Fighting Style:
She can't rely on punches, no matter how much she tries. Her one eye judges distances wrongly. Because of the lack of reliable depth perception, her style is based on quick movements and powerful kicks. When she kicks, she doesn't sacrifice speed for power or vice versa. Her attacks are precise, swift and powerful. She uses her right eye to see whats on her right, therefore she reacts faster on the right side. Intuition is used when dodging an attack from the left, since she can't see and her reaction time is slower. She's honed her skills to a point where if someone offends her badly, she would instinctively fire a vertical kick instead of slapping them.

Appearance

(She claims the glasses relaxes her right eye because relying too much on it causes it to hurt)

Personality: Arina is a quiet person. She never talks to anyone she doesn’t know. If she does, it’s very few words. She is humble but not easily hurt emotionally. After various encounters with the odds she had to overcome, her personality has 'bloomed'. Although she isn't very strong physically, she's not afraid anymore to try to pack a whallop when fighting an opponent. Although slightly insecure when fighting someone on the ground, she has almost become a master of the skies, allowing her to become a little overconfident when she is up there. Her personality, however, still retains that 'cute' aspect of it. She smiles a tiny bit more, but still giggles softly.

Themesongs:
U2 - "Elevation"
Bush - "Comedown"
Foo Fighters - "Learn To Fly"

Character Biography:

Even from the time she was born, her parents knew that Arina was unique. Her glow was present even when she was first put to sleep by her parents. Her father was nervous about it, wondering what would happen if anyone else would find out about his daughter’s eerie glow. Her mother thought the glow to mean something special, her father thought the glow to be weird. Arina was an only child. She used to watch, on evenings after her lessons, her mother turn into a falcon and fly off to somewhere unknown to the girl. Her father could have turned into an eagle, but he was too lazy to do anything other than sit around the house all day.

The aeoleansaurian race lived in the valleys of a small island, not far from the land of Taraine.
It was tradition, that when a teenage aeoleansaurian reached the age of seventeen, they would turn into their bird for the first time during a small village festival. It was also tradition, that if the teenager did not turn into their bird form on the same night of the festival, the teen would be exiled from the village, never to return.

By and by, time passed. Arina had bloomed into a beautiful young teenager. Her father never let her go out at night, for fear of someone finding out about her glow. But, he knew, in the back of his mind, that his efforts were futile. Arina was coming of age, and the night of her seventeenth birthday would be her unveiling. His brow creased from worry, his hair grayed. His wife constantly asked him what was the matter, but he never responded. Arina herself was never bothered about her glow, it was something that she had all her life, it just became a figure in the corner of her eye, and given some more time, it faded completely from her mind.

It all came too soon. The night of her seventeenth birthday was upon her. Arina’s father started to panic. He covered his daughter in as much dark clothing as possible, but, this night was different, she glowed brighter than ever before. It shone through her clothes.
The time had come, the festival was ending, a proud mother and a worried father watched as the door opened on the house and Arina strode outside. There was a silent sigh of relief from her father as the torches cancelled out the glow. The mayor of the village was met with all smiles. Arina was shaking in her boots. Her clothes muffled the sound of her knees knocking together.

Can I really pull this off? , she thought, Can I really turn into a bird?

The music of the festival tore through the air. And it echoed along with the mayor’s shout.

“Stop!”

The music ended, Arina stood in the middle of the festial, nervous and shaking.

“Arina, of the Aeoleansauria, now is your time to spread your wings, and feel the wind beneath them…”

Arina closed her eyes, and concentrated. Her eyes were shut tight, she shut the sound of the mumbling crowd out. She stood there, concentrating for a while. The mumbles of the crowd grew stronger.

“I… I can’t,” She sighed, finally, “I can’t change…”

“Then the sentence is passed, you are hereby exiled from your homeland.”

Her mother shot up, the crowd gasped. Arina’s tears met the ground. She cried, the crowd started to disperse, those who seemed to be sad shook there heads and moved on. Those who were jealous of her beauty and personality cackled like the witches they were.

Her parents watched her silently, sadly. Her cries grew in pitch. The wail grew louder and sharper, cutting through the dispersing crowd and directing their attention back to her.
Bright white feathers fluttered through the air. Her wings spread straight out, touching the houses on both sides, her wingspan was larger than her mother’s. And not only that, her wings glowed furiously, unleashing the brightness upon the people who had rejected her when she couldn’t change earlier. Her wings beat against the ground, raising clouds of dust and pushing herself upwards, into the air.

She had changed into her falcon form, a brilliant, glowing white. She kept wailing, she knew the mayor’s judgment was final. Her wings beat furiously, propelling her away from the village, her parents, and her home. She flew all night, over the oceans. Her purple falcon’s eyes were filled to the brim with tears. She finally flew over land, she descended. When she landed she turned back into her human form, and continued her crying. It was dawn when she had landed, and, she did not see where, or who she was landing in front of.

“Crying ill suits a girl of such beauty,” She heard someone say, it was a calm voice.

“Wha..?” She sniffed, wiping her eyes, she looked up at the figure. He was handsome, wearing a suit of black, with a red cape pulled to the side, his sword was sheathed, he was smiling encouragingly.

“Miss…?” the young man asked, “You know, you shouldn’t be out here alone, there are thieves and murderers about.”

Her eyes widened, she immediately thought this man was a threat. She kept silent, still sitting there.

“Well,” the young man started, “since you don’t want to move, I’ll stay here, in case anything happens.”

He put his bow and sword down, and sat down with his back against a tree.

“My name, mistress, is Raven.” He said, “and what might be yours? But, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”

Arina pulled her legs up, and put her knees to her chest, and rested her chin between them.

“A…Arina” She said softly.

“A beautiful name,” Raven responded, “you also have an amazing power too….”

She was taken by surprise.

“What?... You… you saw… me….”

“Yes, I did. I’ll tell you what, I’m not surprised, I’ve seen worse.”

Arina lowered her eyes. She felt something different about this stranger, she felt that he would understand. She relayed her story.

“So you were exiled?” Raven asked, she nodded.

“Mm-hmm…”

“And you’ll be by yourself…”

“Yeah…”

“Then come with me.”

“What? But… but…”

“Listen, you can’t travel by yourself, and you have no where to go, so come with me, I’ll protect you, and you’ll lend me your company.” He smiled.

Arina, was surprised, she knew she couldn’t travel by herself, and she really did have no where to go. She accepted Raven’s offer. She also knew that she may be able to escape him, if he tries anything.

But her last thought was in vain. She had grown fond of her new friend. Both Raven and Arina shared adventures and run-ins with troubles together. Her adventurous spirit was awakened.

***

Arina was kidnapped by a group of ruffians. Since she could not concentrate to use her telekinesis, she was not able to fight back. When they attempted to violate her, she reacted, causing one of the men to stab her in her left eye. Raven had reached when she was bleeding to death, the men had left because they didn't want something like this to happen, they just wanted some 'fun'. Raven, seeing her in this state, was willing to give up anything for her to live. He used Alchemy on her to save her, bringing back her eye and healing the wound, but not making her able to see through that eye again. In the process, he gave up the sight in his right eye to heal hers.

Re: Insaney's Sane Characters

Thracia Dayna
Fiery Jumper

Name: Thracia Dayna

Age: 21

Race: Jumper. A human that is able to teleport to places seen before. For example, Thracia can ‘jump’ to a place if she’s seen it in a photograph, but she can’t teleport to places that she’s never seen.

Sex: Female

Hair: Red, almost orange-ish/fiery.

Eyes: light brown.

Weight: 5 feet, 6 inches.

Height: 136 lbs.

Weapon: Two Springfield XD-9 Tactical 9mm pistols, also known as Blacktails. These guns aren’t very powerful, but they have increased accuracy, and can be wielded effectively due to the addition of the lasers attached.

Strengths: Thracia is very strong willed, determined and almost headstrong. She is observant and remembers most things that other people would not. She is an excellent driver (said to be the best in the CIA ) and wields her guns with great efficiency. Her teleportation is perfect for combat, as it allows her to dodge attacks and return her own attacks without much trouble.

Weakness: She is still human, and a single wound or bullet can put her out of commission. Due to her abilities, she is brash and headstrong, sometimes teleporting right into the midst of danger without realizing it; and will sometimes depend too much on her abilities to the point where, if she can’t use it in a certain situation, she might deem the situation ‘hopeless’.

Skills/Magic: ‘ Jumping’ forms the core of her skills. She is able to teleport to places she’s seen before, and there is no limit to distance or the amount of times she can do it. When she teleports, she leaves behind a visible ripple in the air, a wormhole (called a Jump Scar). She can teleport people or things, but can’t teleport anything too large or too heavy and not able to move; however, she can easily teleport anything (even if it weighs tons) if it’s moving at a good enough speed.

Dynamic Entry: When teleporting into an area, she can, if she chooses, send out a shockwave as soon as she enters and damage the surroundings. It is most powerful at the point of entry: underneath her craters or cracks, depending on the type of ground.

Dynamic Departure: The same shockwave can be sent out when teleporting away from a place.

Trickster: She can use her teleportation skills to fight as well. During a scuffle, she can teleport to dodge attacks, sometimes just seemingly disappearing for a moment and then reappearing in the same place right after the attack. Continuous teleporting and attacking work well in bringing an enemy to his knees. She can continuously evade and return attacks, disorienting her opponent(s) with her abilities.

She also has the uncanny ability to stuff large things into small containers or spaces (no innuendo attached). For example, she packed one suitcase for a trip, but found it was too heavy. When she opened it, she had to toss out numerous guns along with a rocket launcher and its ammo.

Appearance:

Personality: Thracia is very serious about her job (and her position), although she may not seem like it. She is easily excited, and goes to the ends of the earth to prepare if she’s given a case. Although, once she gets bit by the shopping bug, she has a hard time quitting. Obsesses over silk clothing, especially undergarments. She’s usually extremely upbeat and mouths off to her opponents when she feels like it. Thracia is spontaneous, even impulsive, and will flirt back when flirted with; Thracia doesn't usually go beyond kissing, but if she gets turned on enough...well.... She’s extremely attracted to fiery personalities, but hangs out around mellow/cool people to balance things out...most of the time. Even though she’s excited and upbeat most of the time, she has a number of berserk buttons that’ll send her temper to the sun, and then some. The buttons are easily pushed to make her go off, and comically, all her surroundings seem to darken when she’s pissed, spelling impending doom.

Biography:

Thracia Dayna was born in a small town in an English speaking country. She was born into a very poor home, but not poor enough to care for a child. Her mother had no skills to speak of (and an amount of berserk buttons that made her father slightly afraid of his wife), and her father was only good enough to be a lower-than-low ranked officer at a police station. He was put into this job after someone from the precinct allowed him to join, returning a favour.

Because her mother was easily angered, a young Thracia spent some of the time at the precinct, helping her father, and the another part of the time out on the streets where she picked up her attitude and found out her attraction to fiery, fun, wild people. The rest of her time was spent doing fairly well in school. Although she was excellent in physical education, her grades in the other subjects were above average at best.

Her time on the street was also when she discovered her ability to jump. Being attracted to fiery people doesn’t mean the same thing as being attracted to good people. It was in this way, she was pushed onto the road and by the time she looked at the oncoming vehicle and raised her hands to brace herself, she found herself in her room, with the whole thing in disarray and large cracks on the floor, caused by her teleportation in.

Growing up in the precinct, coupled with her grades and physical prowess (and cheating: her ability to teleport), allowed her to become familiar with the officers, and as she turned into a young woman, it allowed her to join the precinct as a higher-ranked police officer with a little ease. During this time, she had to learn how to drive and when she did go for lessons, she found that she had a natural knack for driving, doing each things expertly (even hastily) and coming out with top scores; and while she may seem reckless on the road, she was careful and always on the lookout.
Thracia then learnt something from her father. She had an older brother that her parents had left to someone else (this was the favour; her father had to ‘pay’ by working for that man in the precinct, giving part of the salary to him). The man who had ‘supposedly’ took her elder brother in was dead, along with the rest of his family, but her brother’s body was not found. Both father and daughter were convinced that her brother was still alive.

As such, she was a great police officer, and rose through the ranks in no time, soon becoming a detective, intending to use resources to find her brother. However, she would not stay in that position for very long. She happened, by chance or destiny, onto the supercar project. She happened onto RAIVE, who was being hacked into at the time and was being used as a getaway vehicle.

This meeting was the beginning of Thracia losing her current job and getting introduced to the world of SIS (Secret Intelligence Service), or MI6. Because of her involvement with that incident, and her current skills, the higher-ups found that she was more of an asset than a liability, and decided to give her a job of partnering with the supercar, RAIVE. They were partnered for a while, before things went haywire, and RAIVE was sent out on his own without her as the driver.

Because of this ‘loss’ the higher-ups decided to put Thracia out in the field on her own, as a ‘semi-freelance agent’, basically ‘unemployed until you’re called in’, which is ever so often. MI6 keeps tabs on her, and allows her to move and use resources freely, but sometimes if they have need of her in the area she’s in, they call on her and she responds.

Re: Insaney's Sane Characters

Vanille de Nouveau
The New Vanilla

Name: Vanille de Nouveau (French. “New Vanilla” )

Age: 17

Race: Linked Human/Summoner -- A human that has a soul that is ‘linked’ to other worlds, and can summon beings from various worlds. To make sure that the soul is not severed even if the links to other worlds are cut off, a ‘Djinni’ is automatically summoned at birth. The human’s soul is fully linked to that retainer and that Djinni is linked to the various worlds. Sort of like a router between the computer and the internet; if the internet connection is severed, the computer can still connect to the router. There are four types of Djinn representing the four elements (Earth/Venus, Wind/Jupiter, Water/Mercury, Fire/Mars) and one is summoned at birth depending on the month of the year. The Djinn are no smaller than squirrels and each has their own name and personality.

Gender: Femme

Hair: Shimmering brown, usually in two pigtails. (One that’s a little to the side if using her medieval appearance and her hair is in a ponytail when in her modern-day appearance)

Eyes: Green

Height: 5ft 5 inches

Weight: 130lbs

Weapons: A summoner doesn’t have any main weapons beside the beings or items he or she can summon. Although she can summon the weapons that the beings she’s used to summoning use, or even independent weapons she is unable to wield them effectively simply because she was not taught how to handle any. She has only acquired the abilities to summon weapons on their own because the more experienced a summoner is, the more powerful beings she can summon without the help of any technology. She does have the means to defend herself, though.

Items:
  • -- Laban: This is her main item. It looks like a simple, black cloth wristband that’s just slightly longer than a conventional one. This seemingly simple garment can contain petabytes of data. When interfacing with this piece of technology, a hologram appears over it (so she has to hold up her arm just like she’s looking at a wristwatch). It contains a list to all the beings/items she has summoned already, their data and abilities, along with all the Remnants she has destroyed and the ones she is currently tracking. It also contains any information she manages to pick up with her own senses. This device can also function as a futuristic cellphone which can adapt to a wide range of networks; it can also access the internet, showing pages in the holographic display. This device also enhances her summoning power by a bit, enabling her to summon the beings she’s used to summoning. The Laban also changes her appearance (mainly her clothes and hairstyle, but not its colour) by using a hologram. If the Laban is damaged or cut in any way, its nanotechnology repairs it over a matter of time. The Laban caters to one of her hobbies (other than summoning), it can create a completely interactive (including sound!) hologram of any kind of guitar for her to play.

  • --Laban Xtension: Nanotech Nails: even on her fingernails, futuristic technology exists. The nanotechnology embedded in her fingernails allows her to summon a miniature, roundish, holographic-looking shield to block a single attack, Vanille can do this as many times as she likes with each hand. The shields are slightly bigger than her hand with her fingers stretched out, round and decorated with lots of arrows, circles, lines and runes. The nanotech also monitors her sense of touch and transmits the data to the Laban. They can also be used as a remote for different things (like changing the channel on a television, etc. She activates her Laban by thinking about it; the nanotech on her nails then activates the Laban.) The nanotech also allows her to hack into and use computers with ease and remotely. There is no range. If she loses the Laban, she can still summon something (because of her nails transmitting the data to the Laban), although the being will appear near the device and not her.

  • --Air Gear: Normal looking black sneakers that has advanced technology integrated into the soles. The technology summons two hologram-like circles (similar to her Xtension shields from her fingers) that allows Vanille to hover and glide swiftly at least one foot over water. The direction and speed are changed by the way she bends her ankles or leans. The black sneakers has two white wing designs on their sides.

  • --Military Grade XGS HUD v3.0: XGS = ‘(e)Xtended Geographical Sight’. The technology of this device isn’t exactly new. The way the lenses are made allows one to view more of their surroundings while standing still. When worn, however, the glasses provide a heads-up display (with blue night vision and lighter blue text!) that provides information (height/weight and stuff like that). These glasses are usually used for the stealth section of the military, for sniping and assassinations, but once a new one comes out, the old one gets released on the public markets.

Strengths: Very nimble and agile. She is swift on her feet and thinks fast. She can dodge/block most attacks with the help of the Nanotech. Although she can only summon one being at a time, she can summon any number of weapons for her or them to use. Each summon, including the weapons, is a force to be reckoned with. She is confident and doesn’t shy away, but is smart enough to know when the trouble is too much for her to handle. Vanille also uses small tactics when battling, like angering an opponent to cloud their judgement by taunting (mainly by rocking out with the guitar). Also, because of her association with Fire (she has a Mars Djinni), if the being she is summoning is associated with fire as well, that being will gain a boost to its powers.

Weaknesses: Her physical strength is nothing much, although she can dodge or block, attacking is out of the question. She was never trained to attack, only defend herself and summon. If one of her summons falls in battle, she’ll have to wait a while before summoning the same one again. If all her summons fall, then she’s left on her own for a while and can only block or dodge. If she faces an opponent of strength that none of her summons can defeat, she’s better off running unless she’s in her own time, where there are pods located around each city that plugs into her, enabling her to summon something extremely powerful. Sometimes she may be pushing it too much with her taunts, and taunting like that doesn’t always work.

Skills/Magic:

--Summoner: The ones with the asterisk ( * ) are the items/beings she’s able to summon to her without using the enhancements of the Laban, so even if she loses the device they’ll appear near her instead of near it.
  • Summoned Beings:

  • *Vampire Scarecrow: - Earth - Her weakest summon to date. The Vampire Scarecrow is slow, weak and it can only bite, nothing more. It can’t talk, it can’t walk, only hop. The only thing good about it is that the bite can stun for up to ten seconds, but by the time it’s up close, its pumpkinhead is already smashed in. This being is simply a scarecrow animated by evil magic, and doesn’t drink blood—it just bites.

  • *Akane-Hime: - Earth - (Crimson Princess). Akane-Hime is the most balanced of all her summons. She has good speed and attack and defence power. Akane obeys without second thoughts. Akane-Hime is a princess that wields a possessed blade; the being inside the blade has taken over part of her, as well, as a result, she is brutal when killing an opponent and always covered in blood when finished.

  • Shou: - Fire - (“Fly” or “Soar”) Her fastest summon. It is the only fire-associated summon she knows and as a result, it gains a boost in its speed and power. Shou’s sword is a flame blade, that turns blue when hot, and he can wield it so fast while charging swiftly, that he looks like a blue comet. Shou is so fast he can run on water. His attacks cut and burn at the same time, but doesn’t do as much damage as Akane’s brutal wielding. Both Shou and Akane originate from the same land.

  • Aishwarya Astaroth: - Wind – (full name means: “Power of the Stars” ) Aishwarya is by far the most powerful being she can summon in terms of raw power. She is a legendary queen, wielder of a magical spear called “Aegis”. She is as brutal as Akane and a lot stronger. When she throws her spear, it can pierce steel. The spear can be called to her hand by a whistle and it pierces anything in its path when it’s flying back to her. The spear can also fire bolts of lightning from its tip (implying that Aishwarya herself is Wind-associated). She can hover above the ground and move as if she’s flying. She can’t fly very high, but she can fly fast. She can also teleport Vanille to different points in time. This is not unusual, since many summoners go back in time and acquire new summons.

  • Summoned Items:

  • *Akane-Hime’s Demon Blade: This possessed sword, when summoned and wielded, stays in the person’s hand until the enemy is brutally dealt with or fleeing.

  • *Shou’s Flame Sword: This blade burns blue when hot, and can pierce through thin steel using the heat to melt the metal. When at full power, blue flames trail the blade when it is swung. The sword cuts and burns at the same time, cutting and searing the insides before sealing the cut on the outside.

  • Aishwarya’s Aegis: This intimidating piece of metal can pierce anything and be recalled to your hand. It fires lightning bolts that fry the enemy inside-out. But this is the hardest weapon to control. If you’re not experienced, it’s heavy in your hand. Throwing it is a chore in itself and recalling it is dangerous, as it could pierce the wielder if you don’t know how to catch it properly. The lightning bolts that burst out makes the spear recoil greatly, so it needs someone strong to hold it.

  • Redline: A red, elaborately decorated long sword. The blade can cut anything within three inches of it, so even if the blade itself barely misses, its target will still get slashed if it’s within three inches of the blade. Redline is from a world where technology has advanced greatly, but guns are not used.

  • *Everglade: (pictured with her medieval appearance) This sword is a green, intricately designed blade made by the Elves. It is extremely light and very easy to wield, but very weak when it comes to attacking. It is the only sword Vanille can wield without much trouble, but even so, she’s not very good with it. She only has it/draws it to ‘fit in’ a little more during the medieval time.

  • Angelique-Assisted Summons:
(Can’t summon these without an Angelique pod, which are only found in old ruins/underground during medieval /present day eras and frequently in places in her time. The pods in her time are enhanced alien technology that plugs into her (hence the plugsuit, the ‘summoner’s uniform’), her djinn and her Laban. The non-futuristic pods take a lot longer to activate because of the lack of this interface, but the interactive holograms of the Laban can make it work. It’ll just take a while longer).

  • Eclipse: A massive dragon that always stays in front of the moon/sun, hence its name. It blocks out the sun/moon and fires a powerful beam down at its target before disappearing. The power of the beam depends on the cloud cover, and the effect of the beam depends on if it’s day or night. If it’s day, the beam will scorch the target, turning it into a crisp. At night, the beam will freeze its target. The frozen target will then turn into crystallized dust.

Appearance:
Face 1
Face 2
Futuristic Top/Plugsuit, she wears a normal black jeans and black sneakers with this, nothing special.
Modern/Present-Day Outfit, with ponytail instead of pigtails.
Medieval Outfit with the Everglade sword.

Personality: Vanille is lively and light-hearted, but follows the rules (her rules/morals) to the ‘t’. She is not a bad person at all and only wants to become a more experienced summoner. She is well versed in histories of different worlds/dimensions (as a summoner should be) and as such, she isn’t very overwhelmed by anything she summons/sees while in different times. Vanille likes old music (ie. present-day music. To them, our music are like...classics ), but mostly electric guitar (her idol is a semi-unknown Brazilian guitarist named “Mayan Fernand”, she plays her guitar solos almost any time using her Laban guitar, but mostly when she taunts). Her taunting is something of a habit, having been actually trained to taunt and taught that taunting is a good thing when in a fight Les Restes (“The Remnants”. Aliens, should be explained in the bio). Vanille doesn’t seem to take anything seriously, she just seems to be entirely carefree. Truthfully, she takes her friends and job seriously; she’s determined to become an experienced summoner. Even though she can speak both English and French, she tends to mix French in the English language a lot. She uses words/phrases from French such as:
  • “Et pourtant” – “And though”
  • “Bien que” – “Although”
  • “Apres tu/vous” – “After you (singular/plural)”
  • “S’il vous plait” – “Please”
  • “Merci (beaucoup)” – “Thank you (very much)”
  • “C’est folie!” – “This is insane!/crazy!”
  • “Fooooliee!” – “Craaaazzy!”
  • “Avance!” – “C’mon!”

Guitar Solos:
Break A Leg
Nova Fase
Agit
Cutting Edge
Credit to the epic guitarist Fernando Miyata for playing such awesomeness.

Bio: Vanille de Nouveau was born into a perfectly normal family on a perfectly normal Earth... for that time. She was born to a British father and French mother in Marseilles, France. However, as soon as she was born, her Fire Djinn was automatically summoned, indicating that her life was already decided for her, she would be a summoner.

When she was old enough to understand that her Djinn was more than just a squirrel-sized pet (at about ten), her parents dropped the real world on her. They travelled with her to the Interzone (capital), Paris, in order for her to receive her training (all linked humans/summoners are required by law to undergo training) in preparation for joining the military and/or peacekeeping core. This was where she received her current equipment and learned the true reason of why she had a djinn and why others had the same type, but different names.

She spent most of her time in training, but that never dulled her spirits. Her superiors, although strict during classes were friends outside. She discovered her knack for playing the guitar after one of her musically inclined teachers introduced her to it. It took a little practice at first and she began learning by seeing/hearing recordings of her teacher’s favourite guitarist. She saw her taunting classes as a way to play/learn guitar. In these classes, their task was to taunt a hologram of a Remnant into attacking.

It was taught that getting a Remnant angry and provoking it to attack blinded its senses and/or judgement and would make it more vulnerable to attack since it won’t make efforts to defend itself well. This is why taunting in the midst of heated battles has become a habit for her, even when facing non-aliens.

To put things simply, the Remnants are aliens that are older than the Earth itself and are said to have a hand in creating it. There are the massive Remnants that wreak havoc and the smaller ones that come down to be seeds of chaos. They are numerous and live in the moon’s orbit. The Remnants are incapable of using their full power without the assistance of gravity and humans don’t have the space technology (even though their technology on the ground seems almost extra-terrestrial) to combat such things in space. Even on the ground, humankind’s weapons are said to be almost ineffective against the large Remnants (small ones are okay).

Vanille had become part of the military now; her first summon to combat a small Remnant was the Vampire Scarecrow. Her second summon was Akane-Hime. Somewhere in between that and her most powerful (assisted) summon, Vanille called out Aishwarya, who was able to take her to different times as well as be her most fearsome combatant on the ground... for now. Visiting other times was not something new for summoners; so although this was a little unnerving at first, she soon accepted it as a norm, as countless of others had. Her most powerful summon was made after she was forced to plug into an Angelique to summon something powerful enough to take care of a powerful Remnant that had descended on a part of Paris. That summon was Eclipse and it was recorded in her Laban.

The Remnants had come back to Earth many years ago; hundreds of years after the apocalypse was ‘supposed’ to happen, but was stopped by a group of ‘supernatural’ beings. Their technology has been on Earth long before the first human; millions of years ago: the humans just copied and modified it, using the technology to create futuristic cities and items. They also modified the summoning pods (Angeliques. “Angelics” in English) and began using them again. The first people to use the prototypes were affected by them and they became the parents of the first summoners.

The dimension-opening energy released from these summoned the Remnants back to Earth which they now want to destroy, fearing that the technology has become more potent than theirs. Very few of the Remnants are not bound by time and are capable of travelling into the past. Fending them off and preserving the future are the jobs of the summoners; Vanille’s job.

***

Name: Shula (Arabic for “Fire”).

Type: Mars/Fire Djinni

Gender: Femme

Age: Same as Vanille. 17.

Height: between 3-4 inches

Weight: Extremely light. It can zip around like a fly or float like a feather.

Colour: Red/Yellow

Eyes: Shimmering blue orbs.

Appearance

Skills/Magic:
  • Parallel Bond: The bond with Vanille. If it dies, she may not survive. This bond also enables her to open gateways to summon her beings. She also has the power to bond with Vanille, by pressing against any part of open skin; the djinni will disappear into its master.
  • Flame Boost: The boost she automatically gives to fire-based summons.
  • Fire Dart: Shula surrounds herself with fire and darts straight at an opponent.

Personality: Shula communicates with chirps and only her master and other djinn could understand her. She is mostly shy, only flitting around Vanille and hiding in her clothes or sitting on her shoulder quietly when approached by other djinn. Occasionally, it’ll even bond with Vanille to hide. The thing rarely attacks, even when Vanille tries to get it to.
