BiC: Name: Kandred
Title: Agrazdiel, the Unforgiven.
Age: 41.
Sex: Male.
Race: Unknown.
Theme Song: Better Than – The John Butler Trio..
Handedness: Right.
Hair: Thick and brown, Kandred’s hair is cut to a length where his fringe reaches his brows. See appearance. After using Dæmon Magic Kandred’s hair will gain a golden tinge.
Eyes: Kandred’s eyes appear to stare deep into one’s soul, and shine a magnificent malachite green.
Wings: Golden-bronze and extremly powerful.
Weight: 75 kilograms.
Height: Exactly seven feet.
Wingspan: Thirteen feet.
Weapon: Rezaveron, the Undying Blade – This broadsword is made of a bronze, elemental metal known as Gallatrite. Gallatrite is indestructible and very sharp, and can become translucent if the wielder wills it so. The Undying Blade is infused with Wind and Flame magic, having a fire rune engraved at the base of the blade on one side and a wind rune on the opposite side. Its hilt is the shape of two draconic wings that bend back towards the pommel, which is a dark blue crystal, which can hold a small amount of magic in it. The blade is five feet long and a handspan wide.
Armour: A thick leather trenchcoat, which he wears at all times. Capable of deflecting musket bullets and some blade attacks. See appearance.
Strengths: Kandred is highly skilled in the arts of magic and swordplay and is not one to be messed with. Having the ability of flight, Kandred can easily outmanoeuvre his opponents in seconds. He also is quite intelligent, being able to think up battle strategies and recognise an opponents strengths and weaknesses in an instant. Another of his strengths is his increased vision, hearing, speed, strength and above all stamina. And there’s also his Dæmon… whom I shall be mentioning later.
Weaknesses: Being inhabited by a Dæmon’s corrupt soul, Agrazdiel’s mind is extremely instable and he is at times slightly mad. The emotion of anger is extremely amplified by his Dæmon, Drakduroth, and often clouds his judgement. Physically, Kandred is weak against Plasma attacks because of Drakduroth’s natural weakness against it. Kandred finds it hard to fight women, as he doesn’t want to hurt them. He also often underestimates his enemies and overestimates his own abilities.
Skills/Magic: Affinity – Kandred has control over fire and wind magic, but only through the Undying Blade.
Dæmon Magic – Whenever Drakduroth stirs within him, Kandred is able to use extremely powerful Dæmon Lightning. This Dæmon Lightning is golden and can be summoned from Kandred’s fingertips. After using Dæmon Magic Kandred’s appearance becomes a mixture of his and Drakduroth’s. His hair becomes slightly golden, his eyes become golden and his fingernails grow into sharp talons tinged with bronze. To restore his energy and human-like appearance he must drink blood.
Appearance:
Image drawn by Hito-chan *Huggles*. Also, to let people know, he only ever has his wings extended when using Drakduroth's power, and using them will cause him to need blood.
Personality: Kandred is very cheerful, but doesn't mind being alone. He's the type of guy who'll let you in if there's a storm. Every now and then he will use different combinations of his powers. He likes light and dark, good and evil, but likes to stay on the good side of things. He can occasionally be cruel, but that is very rare for him to do. He is loving and compassionate, and makes friends as often as he can, and those friends can last for an eternity. Even though Kandred seems to be all knowing and almost omnipotent, he is quite arrogant at times. He can be quite immature at times, and is a bit of a lost soul inside. Before and during using his Dæmon Magic he becomes extremely angry and cruel, killing mercilessly.
Biography:
Kandred looked out across the sea from the battlements of his castle. The waves, steel grey, smashed up against the bluestone walls of his home, creating a monotonous and repeating tune of splashing, crashing…Every day Kandred would watch the sea for hours, letting its song lull him into a trance of tranquillity and solitude.
Kandred had found the castle years ago when he had been swept up onto the rocks near the castle after being shipwrecked. He had dived back into the grey sea and swam to the steel ladder that he had noticed attached to the wall. The foundations of the castle had been dug out of the rocks the protruded from the sea.
“Kandred…” Kandred snapped out of his trance when he heard a voice, ragged and dry as smoke, whisper his name.
“Who’s there?” Kandred drew Rezaveron, his whole body tensing.
“Kandred…Agrazdiel…” There it was again: that ancient, smoky voice that whispered along the wind. The voice was followed by a crackling, hissing noise from the sky. Kandred looked up and saw black thunderclouds where a moment ago there had been a clear blue sky.
“I am weak, Kandred… I need you…”
“Who are you, and where are you?”
“I am Drakduroth…The first of the Reapers…”
“Show yourself!” Kandred’s voice trembled against the howl of the winds that had swept down upon the castle and sea.
“Very well.” A cackling laugh followed, almost as if to mock him. Smoke, black as pitch, descended down to Kandred, who stepped back. Beneath the smoke Kandred could just make out the form of huge, hooked wings, powerful claws and the slanted, cruel face of a dragon. Kandred leapt from the battlements down the ground, trying to run from the monster that had landed on his sanctuary.
He ran to the huge, double door that led into the rest of the castle, but it wouldn’t budge. He was trapped. The Dæmon leapt down to the floor, the ground shaking as it crashed down upon the marble, cracking it. The Dæmon shone a magnificent gold and had lightning blue eyes that glowed like sapphires and stared straight into the core of his being.
“Keep back!” Kandred’s sword burst into flames.
“You think you can fight me? Then you are wrong. Very wrong.” Drakduroth’s body became part smoke, part scales and swept down on Kandred. The black embrace of the smoke seeped into his skin, and slid down his throat, choking him.
“Now you and I shall be one, Agrazdiel.”
Kandred tried to scream, but his voice was smothered by Drakduroth’s essence of smoke and fog. He tried to fly away, but invisible bonds of steel bound his wings. He tried to escape, but Drakduroth over-willed him. And then Kandred was lost in the cold embrace of smoke…
Kandred awoke, his body covered in sweat. So it was just a dream…
Then the voice of choking smoke hissed through his mind, “It was real, Agrazdiel. Now you shall never be rid of me…”
“No!” Kandred fell to his knees, clutching his hands to his head. “
No!”
“Yes, Agrazdiel, yes. Anger is power.”
“Get out. Get out now.
Get out of my mind!”
“I cannot leave you now, Agrazdiel. We are one. Now we both are complete.”
Tears streamed from Kandred’s eyes, dripping onto the floor. “Now I’m a monster…Tainted.”
“You are not tainted, just…No longer alone.”
“And I’ll never be alone again…” Kandred stood, and then noticed the state the castle was in. The walls were all blown away, and the floor charred black. “What has happened?”
“When we became one, Agrazdiel, there were some…Side effects.”
“Side effects as in mass destruction?”
“Yes…”
“Now I’ll have to fly to land and make myself a new home.”
“Or rebuild this place.”
“That’s ridiculous!” Kandred’s anger exploded from within him and golden lightning crackled around his body. He struck out at a remaining part of the wall, which shattered against his fist.
“You will do well, Agrazdiel, at harnessing your anger in the years to come.”
The lightning dwindled and then disappeared with a last, hissing crackle. “What was that?”
“Dæmon Magic: my power in its physical state. It is what makes you Agrazdiel.”
“Agrazdiel?” Kandred questioned the Dæmon in the surest tone he could muster.
“Your true name. Your Dæmon name.”
Kandred tried to respond, but all that came was dry, smoky gasp. A Dæmon gasp.
“Ugh… I need…To feed…”
“Feed?”
“Yes…I need energy.”
“Why?”
“I expended a lot of energy allowing you to use the Dæmon Magic. Now I need food,” Drakduroth, for once, sounded desperate, vulnerable.
“Give me… Your body…”
“What?”
Kandred didn’t hear Drakduroth answer, he only felt a black, choking smoke entwine itself around his heart and body.
“I’m…Free…”
