Got Guns?

Why, yes. I did just spend two days thinking of crap for this. No, the things I reference in the bio do not exist in any publication. No, I don't expect you do understand what the crap it going on in the world around this guy. That's for me to write some other time. For now, behold! A character without swords! Or Magic! Or Hyrule!

Name: Robert Cornett

Age: 20

Race: Human

Sex: Male

Hair: Dark brown, short enough that a comb doesn't do anything, but no shorter.

Eyes: Green

Weight: 180lbs/81.6kg

Height: 6ft/1.82m

Weapons: M-252C Compact Assault Rifle: A fairly standard AR, for the time period. It has 52 round AP clips, it fires at a rate of 400 shots per minute, has very little recoil, and is accurate to 75 meters. He generally carries 4 extra clips.

M-19 PMD: (Portable Mass Driver) Essentially a sniper rifle, it has a high-powered scope capable of infa-red, and zoom up to 40x normal vision. Its effective range is 2km. Its clips contain 3 shots each, and he generally carries 3 extra clips, although he and the rest of his troops have been known to ram an empty clip into the ground and use dirt as ammo... which cuts the effective range down considerably, but can still be quite deadly at distances less than 150 meters.

'Maker' .45 Semi-automatic pistol: 10 round clips. Very little has changed of pistols in 500 years, although this has far less recoil than most. Accurate to 60 meters.

Combat knife: Approximately 7" long. Sharp.

Armor: Heavy Infiltrator Armor: A specially designed enviornment suit that can take multiple bullet impacts before being compromised. If it is penetrated, a specially designed gel seals any holes until it can be properly repaired. The "Infilitrator" of the name comes from an energy field developed for the project which, when activated, effectively bends light and most other EM radiation around it, effectively rendering the armor, and all it contains (as well as the weapons held by it) invisible, or very nearly so. The energy field does not stop solid objects, and can be disrupted by sudden impacts, as well as submersion in water.

Strengths: Due to several genetic enhancements, his reaction time and general speed are far greater than any standard human. He is also marginally stronger, although a body-builder could still top him... assuming they were simply trying to see who could pick up the bigger compact car.

Weakness: close in, he has his knife. Magic is but an absurd joke to him.

Skills: Combat Martial Arts, specifically planned for the most efficient way to end hand-to-hand fighting without harm to the "artist," and without regard for the opponent.

Starship Command & Control: he can do it.

Fast analysis: He is incredibly good at assessing situations, as well as quickly learning or deciphering most anything he's presented with.

Marksmanship: Effective range of his weapon is 2km. He can shoot that far effectively, if needed. Also very good at pulling out the pistol and quickly firing at multiple close-in targets, without missing.

Appearance: Somewhat lithe in stature, he is by no means a "large" soldier, although he is far from short.

The armor does not make him look in-human, when its EM field is not active. It has an under-armor layer of black material, and semi-flexible dark grey plates across most of his body. The helmet is the same color as the plates, and his faceplate is slightly reflective, though he has the ability to adjust the reflectivity, and even make himself visible through it.

Personality: Purposeful, although not without a sense of humor. His form of humor is generally rather dark. Lying is not something he does, although he is not above omitting details to imply something other than the truth. Ambiguity and understatement are two of his favorite things to use when speaking.

Biography: Lieutenant Robert Cornett was born in 2541 to two prominent officers of the Terran Hegemony Stellar Fleet, who always called him "Robbie." As such, he was very often in space, and aboard ships of various sorts throughout his early life. He was rarely allowed to stay aboard the ships during any action of importance or risk, so he also spent a decent amount of time away from his parents.

At a very young age, Robbie was identified as a stunningly brilliant child, showing impressive abilities to learn and understand many subjects quickly. At the age of 7, he successfully bypassed Fleet computer encryption, and figured out where his parents were going, after they told him it was "a secret." The THSF network security systems were entirely re-done in response, though his parents stopped bothering with the "it's a secret" line.

On May 23, 2552, at approximately 0727 CIST (Corrected Interstellar Standard Time), in what quickly became one of the most major occurances of the century, the THSF Battleship Helios, whose commanding officer and chief medical officer were the parents of Robbie, disappeared with all hands near the border of the Colonial Alliance's space. This disappearance was blamed on the CA, who denied involvement.

For several years prior to this, THSF had been making plans to create an "enhanced" elite fighting force capable of most anything. Secret studies conducted had concluded that in order for any enhancement of humans to work, it had to be enacted in childhood. Recruiting of prospectives had just begun in mid 2551, and without his parents, Robbie became a principal candidate.

So, Robbie was indoctrinated in the ways of war beyond starship & fleet command. Being unarguably the most capable of the then-children of the program, code-named "Erebus," he was made the CO of the group, and the only one given officer status. He was commissioned as an Engisn at the age of 15, though no one outside the program was aware of this.

The Great Interstellar War broke out between the Terran Hegemony and the Colonial Alliance in 2556, and so Project Erebus was, not at all unexpectedly, promptly sent into combat operations, almost continuously.

Hey, look. This character's good. *stamps with the pristine stamp of Scott's Approval*
