Cassidy Driscol

Whoohoo!

---

Name: Cassidy Vesta Driscol

Nickname: Cass

Race: Human

Age: 32

Birth date: Beltane

Sex: Female

Hair: Cass’ hair is a rich black color, and reaches down to a bit past her shoulders. On top of her hair, she almost always wears a red witch’s hat that has a black loop above the base, and is bent in a crooked way at the top.

Eyes: Deep Hazel

Weight: 134 pounds

Height: 5’7”

Weapon: A small gnarled staff which is about as long as her arm. It is carved in a spiral pattern, getting thinner as it goes down. The head of it is carved in the shape of a dragon, and is wrapped around a small green orb. The staff is made of a rare wood that has been carved out of the petrify tree. The tree is found in the Fortrylle Wood, surrounding the small village of Eventyr. The reason why it is so hard to obtain is because, the moment the tree becomes mature enough to use as a magical wood it almost immediately petrifies itself. Therefore, the wood must be cut from the tree within that minute time frame. This wood boosts Cass’ magic power and spell strength. The green orb is slightly see-through, and has no power except that of putting the un-petrified wood at ease.

Cass also has a fairly thick spell book that she will read sometimes. This allows her to learn new spells, and if she is not in a result, she will consult it.

Companions: Mushu the baby dragon is the basic shape of a one. I won’t spoil how she met Mushu—this will be described in a fiction. However, Mushu has a real talent for pick-locking and discovering supposedly ‘secret’ information. He is small enough to sit on Cass’s shoulder, with each wing about the size of her face. His head is slightly bigger than her flat hand (including fingers). He is about ten years old, but still a baby in dragon terms of his kind, for they live for a thousand years.

Mushu’s skin is usually a thick reddish-brown, but it changes with his mood. When he is ‘under the weather’ his scales will appear gray, happy will appear brighter red, calm or serene will appear blue, excited will appear an orangey-yellow, mad will appear blackish, irritated will appear dark purple, and some others may be described later. Mixtures indicate both moods.

Skills/Abilities:

Potion Making and Herbalism

Cass tends to be extremely skilled at this. She claims that her nose can ‘smell’ herbs, even from far away, and her mind just has a sense of knowing how much of what to put in. For this activity, she requires a few sticks, stones, a handmade clay bowl (handmade or nature-created always boosts magical power), mortar and pestle, herbal water (water with sprinkles of plant leaves), and any of the herbs and extras listed. Here are two of her most often made potions, though she has many more memorized.

Name: Healing Potion
Uses: This healing potion will heal skin and muscle wounds such as gashes. It cannot repair broken bones. Each vial has about three servings in it.
Items Needed: Sticks, stones, handmade clay bowl, three stacks of kingsblood, one vial, herbal water, mortar and pestle
Directions: Spread the sticks in a circle, stones on the outside. Place the clay bowl in the middle. Pour some herbal water up to the brim. Light the sticks on fire, and leave till boiling. Grind the kingsblood in a mortar and pestle, and sprinkle in until a sparkling green color. Let cool for two minutes, pour into vial, and let sit for half of an hour. Drink the vial.

Name: Sleeping Potion
Uses: This sleeping potion will let you work while catching up on rest. Your mind is getting the sleep it needs, yet you are awake and able to function. Each vial has about two servings in it.
Items Needed: Sticks, stones, handmade clay bowl, two stacks of passionflower, one vial, herbal water, mortar and pestle
Directions: Spread the sticks in a circle, stones on the outside. Place the clay bowl in the middle. Pour some herbal water up to the brim. Light the sticks on fire, and leave till boiling. Grind the passionflower in a mortar and pestle, and sprinkle in until a deep purple color. Let cool for four minutes, pour into vial, and let sit for forty-five minutes. Drink the vial.

She does not appear to have her bag filled with all the supplies she needs plus many herbs. However, with the use of a tiny bit of magic, she can instantly summon it or send it away.

Magics

Having studied at one of the top schools in the world, Cass knows relatively every type of magic. Her favorite to use is fire.

Manipulate Elements – Cass has learned how to control and manipulate many of the elements. This does not include creating them, however. She is able to manipulate fire, water, ice, earth, rock, metal, thunder, and air. The larger the quantity, the more power needed.

Deviate Fire – Fire being Cass’ strongest element, she has mastered being able to create fire out of thin air. The larger the quantity created the larger amount of power needed.

White Fire – This is easily Cass’ strongest ability. The fire encases her, and can blind you if you look at it directly for more than five seconds. It can burn you from four feet away, and gives Cass a boost of energy until she runs out of it. This takes up about half of her power when she is at full.

Other Abilities

Speech – This ability is born with very few people, allowing them to speak and understand any language spoken. This includes any language by things like dragons, gryphons, animals, and languages other than her core one.

Mythical Creatures – She has a knack for mythical creatures, and can communicate with them mind to mind, as it is her area of magical study. Many, if she asks, will do her bidding.

Strengths: Cass tends to do better at long ranged combat as well as humid and hot places. She has quite a bit of magic in her, and it can last for a long time. She is also extremely brave and almost never gives up on a challenge. On top of that, Mushu can be very helpful.

Weaknesses: Cass is terrible at close range combat, as well as physical combat. Her body is more used to sustaining magical attacks, not physical, so will take great damage under a physical attack. She tends to slow down her reaction time in cold places.

Appearance:
Cassidy and Mushu

Personality:
Cassidy
Cass is one of those sassy women who you’re not supposed to mess with. She has a problem of thinking mostly about herself. For her close friends, however, there are major exceptions. She thinks too much about them, worrying and fretting every second. She is also a very studious person, determined to pass with flying colors from the School. In battle, she can be extremely brave and never gives up, especially when it comes to fighting for loved ones. She also talks a lot, which happens to annoy a lot of people.

Mushu
Mushu is your average little baby dragon. He’s cute, he’s cuddly (almost), and he’s playful. He and Cass have an extreme bond, and are practically inseparable. He takes after Cass and can be quite arrogant sometimes, but never ceases to worry about Cass. If she asks him to do something, he always does—basically, he follows all her orders and is the prefect and most loveable companion Cass could ask for.

Biography:

Born in the market and port village of Oakenin, by the Fortrylle Wood, Cassidy was definitely the most energetic child in her family. She was conceived to Fiona Driscol, her mother, and Denali Driscol, her father. At the time she was born, she already had a brother, who was three, named Diarmuid. When she was just three months old, Diarmuid would play with her all day long, and the two quickly bonded. They were inseparable.

Two years later, Cassidy and Diarmuid’s mother was pregnant again. The two were bouncing off the walls, eager to see if it was a boy or a girl. Cassidy hoped for a girl, and Diarmuid hoped for a boy. Cass was in luck, because nine months later, little Jada was born. Diarmuid was five now, and was sent off to a school of magic, much to his dismay. He was reluctant to leave Cass. The years passed by quickly for them, as Cass once again began to bond with siblings—this time with Jada.

Her parents, still at a high point in their relationship, decided to have yet another little one. They were content with Diarmuid, Cassidy, and Jada, but they couldn’t help wanting to take care of another. This time, Diarmuid’s wish was granted, and Kieran, a little boy, was born. Cassidy, now five at the time of Kieran’s birth, was now sent off to magic school with Diarmuid, now eight.

At first Cass learned about all the different types of magic, mythical creatures, and geography. For the first two years of school, the First Year and Second Year students were to discover which area it was that interested them, and be separated into different groups depending on preference in Third Year. Diarmuid had taken a liking to Dark Defense, and was now studying all types of spells, herbs, and techniques to defend anyone and anything against the Dark. He took this very seriously, and became somewhat reserved, ignoring everyone.

Cassidy, however, began to take a liking to the study of magical creatures. She was placed into this course after second year, learning much about the different mythical creatures, other races, ways to feed the creatures (including extensive herbology) and a mastery of elemental magic for dealing with the creatures. She was just about the best student in her class.

At five, Jada was sent off next. Cass was seven, and Diarmuid was ten. Jada took a certain liking to alchemy and herbology, as the loved the outside. She had already begged her mother, Fiona, to plant a garden when she was the mere age of four. Her mother had already taught her some simple and harmless tricks, and Jada already showed much skill.

Next it was Kieran’s turn. Jada was eight, Cass was ten, and Diarmuid was thirteen. Kieran took a certain liking to the history of magic, as well as the many language that lay un-deciphered, and the many artifacts that remained hidden. He was taught deeply of the magical lore and language, and studied all different types as well as how to find traces of it.

Each of the Driscol children took their work very seriously, and studied hard for their graduation in Twelfth Year. Diarmuid was now seventeen, and very handsome. He had chocolaty brown hair, which was cut to a medium length. It lay choppy and was slightly curly, sometimes hanging in front of his face. His eyes were a jade and turquoise color, mixed. He placed second in his class. Afterwards, he left for the best university for Dark Defense the land could offer—Winderkin University.

When Cassidy graduated, she had long and sleek black hair, down slightly below her shoulders. Her hazel eyes were striking, and transfixed almost every man. She graduated top of her class, very serious about her studies. This achievement immediately placed her into the top Magical Creatures school in the lands—Arrowtor University.

Next to come was Jada. She looked a bit more like Diarmuid than Cassidy did, with chocolate brown hair, slightly wavy, and down to her mid back, complete with crystal blue eyes. She was scrawny and pale-skinned, despite her being outside all the time to tend to her plants. She had an immense love for her area of study, and came first in her class, also, going straight to the best herbology school—Ostachel University.

And finally came Kieran, seventeen and graduating, with Jada now twenty, Cassidy twenty-two, and Diarmuid twenty-five. He had pure black hair, much like Diarmuid’s, but not wavy. He had lovely emerald eyes, which caught almost every girl’s attention. And though he loved his subject like his other siblings, he was exceptionally lazy, causing him only to place ninth in the class. Nevertheless, he squeezed himself into the second best university of history study, Blacken University.

Cassidy advanced through Arrowtor with flying colors. After her third year there, she was sent off to a dragon reservation beyond the Fortrylle Wood, embedded in the mountain side, called Winded Peak. There were at least one-hundred dragons there of all types, all abilities, and all ages. Cass was first instructed to take care of the baby dragons, to which she had a close bondage. After four years of this, not only baby dragons, Arrowtor had her sent off to a gryphon reservation to help in the study of gryphons, to learn everything about them, as they were fairly unknown. She stayed at the gryphon reservation for another four years, when she was sent off to tour other places to learn more about the other minor species.

Before being called back to the University, she decided to get herself a decent magical staff. Having read about the Petrify tree, she left for Eventyr, a village around the Fortrylle Wood, and got her staff created. (See weapon description)

Soon after, she was called back for one more year of intensive studies before she would receive the highest degree of Magical Creature study, therefore free to go and do whatever she wish. She finished the year quickly, and passed the final exam with a perfect score, now twenty-nine years of age.

Meanwhile, Diarmuid was quickly rising to be a well known Master of Dark Defense, having accomplished many tasks. Jada’s potions were the best around, and Kieran still continued to study. Most in his class had already finished university—despite him being lazy, he made up for it and now spent all his time studying, determined to find an artifact that was lost in the sands of time so long ago.

The rest of Cassidy’s bio will be explained through fictions, as well as when she got Mushu.

that what we want doesn't always matter. But then again, sometimes it's all that does." - Mick St. John
