Kric Ureon

Kric

Name: Kric Ureon “The Diamond Alchemist”
Age: 19
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Hair: Dirty Blonde
Eyes: Hawk Yellow
Weight: 200 lbs
Height: 5.9 ft

Weapons: Wraith- A steel broadsword plated with diamond, which Kric uses for transforming the weapon. Along its centre, several runes adorn it, their meaning known only to Kric.

Automail- After two separate incidents, Kric lost both his left and right arm. However, his teacher Heon replaced them with automail limbs. Automail is made from metal, incredibly durable, and linked directly to the nerves of the body. Well-made automail allows a range of movement and strength as good as or better than the original limb it replaces. Kric, after obtaining these limbs, made some slight additions to them, adding five extendable diamond razors to his right automail fingers and two knives that could jut from his wrist and palm to his left automail. His left automail arm is plated with a metal that used to make up his lovers spears, which is lightweight and practically indestructible. The knives on his left automail are also from the spears, as they were once the spearheads. Here’s a picture of what his automail would look like.

Armor: His leather overcoat has a second layer of diamond within it, protecting Kric from being attacked while wearing his overcoat. This means that his coat cannot be destroyed, but crushing weapons are still quite effective against him.

Strengths: Since he was a warrior first and an alchemist second, his skill in close combat is quite extraordinary. Another attribute that Kric has is his auto-mail arms, both crafted for use in fighting, and give him significantly higher than normal strength. Through an incident where he chose to perform the unspeakable sin of human alchemy, the alchemist glanced upon The Gate of Alchemy. Any alchemist who sees into the Gate can then perform alchemy without the use of a written or tattooed circle because of the knowledge gained during the experience, which makes it much easier to perform alchemy.

Weaknesses: Although his coat is of great use in protecting him, it can sometimes be a hindrance, especially if facing another alchemist. Kric is no mechanic, and so if his automail arm is damaged, he will need to find someone to fix it.

Skills/Magic: As his title says, Kric is an adept user of alchemy. This means that he can perform such feats as creating stone spires, making cages rise to trap an enemy, and many other things. After an incident that cost him his remaining real arm, Kric now has the ability to perform alchemy without having to actually draw a circle, which is something that very few alchemists can do.

Appearance: Kric wears a dark brown overcoat, with a long collar that he usually pulls up to hide most of his face which portrays him as a serious and sullen person. He wears light brown leather gloves with golden alchemic circles drawn on both of them, which he really no longer needs, on his automail hands, a gold shirt with several stripes of darker brown on, dark brown trousers with a few rips near the bottom. Kric wears nearly black brown boots, and has a diamond encased sheath on his back for Wraith, which has several intricate designs on. Strapped around his waist is a belt, which contains things like coins, pieces of diamond, and other things he needs.

Personality: Now no longer the laid back type, Kric is a very humorless person. He is quiet most of the time, talking only when addressed by name, and even then he speaks little. He is a fierce opponent in battle, not letting up and rarely giving mercy to anyone who has wronged him. When alone, the alchemist’s thoughts turn to his beloved, Eiro.

Bio: Kric was born to mildly rich parents, with two sisters and one brother, in a town near where a great reserve of diamond was found, so he was pampered from birth, but he didn’t really take to people doing things for him. At the age of 10, he began exploring the land around him, often going down a few of the mines that held diamond, with miners showing him their jobs. The precious stone fascinated the boy, and soon he was helping mine them and in return he was paid in small amounts of the diamonds every so often. The mining eventually made Kric much stronger, until he could mine with ease. He carried on this task until he was 14, which was when the war began.

The State had learned of the diamond mine and how much diamond it produced, and wanted to use the diamond for helping their alchemists with training, but since the diamond was a big part of their natural economy and how they thrived on the money they got from selling it, Kric’s village refused to sell it. The State tried to bargain again and again over the mine, but every time it was turned down, until finally the State turned to a military action, sending in State alchemists to destroy the town. The town was warned forehand of the attack a few months before it was scheduled to happen, and they began training every available man in the village, including Kric. He was given a rusty sword, Wraith, to train with, and after the first swing it broke in half. Deciding to fashion himself a new weapon with the hilt instead of trying to fix it, he used what diamond he had earned from his years in the mine and made another, using steel as well to make it easier to shape. Kric used most of the diamond to make the sheath for his weapon, so that it couldn’t be attacked while it was resting on his back. But making the sword again had cost Kric valuable time, and he trained had and fast to try and catch up what he had missed while he was forging his weapon. He excelled in his class, and eventually the time came to face the alchemists.

The battlefield was set outside of the village, 200 villagers facing only 10 State Alchemists. Thinking that they were sure to win, the villagers were foolhardy and joking about, making a dire mistake. The alchemists decimated the entire army, and Kric only escaped as a body fell over him, hiding him from the alchemists. The alchemists didn’t stop there, they killed every single person in the village, women and children, including Kric’s own family. Hours later after the alchemists had left, Kric returned to his village. Heartbroken at what had happened to his family, the boy mourned the loss of his family for days, not leaving his empty house. After a while, Kric’s sorrow turned to hate, hate for those who had done it. His eyes still red from crying, Kric took Wraith and left, following the path that the State Alchemists left behind them.

After many days he came upon their campsite, where the alchemists were staying for a while. Sneaking up while they were asleep, he murdered three alchemists with Wraith before he was spotted in the camp. A battle ensued, and in it Kric lost his right arm. Defeated by the loss of his limb, Kric gave in, knowing that his fate was now to die like the rest of his village. But instead of killing him, the head of the group was slightly amazed at his abilities, since when they had faced the 200 villagers they had lost no one, but against a boy they had lost three men. Deciding that Kric’s talents could be put to good use, the head of the group, who revealed his name to be Heon, a water alchemist, took him under his wing. He equipped him with his auto mail arm, and made him an alchemist. Kric was slightly disgusted that he was to become one of the men who killed his people, the boy decided that going with them might give him the power to kill them. He trained under Heon’s knowledge for 2 years, focusing on using diamond more than any other material to transform, since it was a much harder job and would make him slightly more powerful than the rest of the group. Heon watched in interest as Kric developed, and already knew what his secret agenda was, but it didn’t matter to him.

One day when the group was traveling to stop a rebellion in a town, they were ambushed, but Kric managed to fight off the attack while the rest escaped. Later, Heon questioned why Kric had let a perfectly good opportunity to fulfill his wish of killing the group that had killed his family pass bye, and Kric found that he couldn’t answer the question. He realized that he had become attached to the group, and he could no longer follow his childish dream of revenge. This was what Heon had hoped for, and what marked that Kric was now ready for a life of his own. Giving him his best wishes, Kric departed from the group, making his own way in life, earning money doing odd jobs as a freelance alchemist.

Battle History: Taking an ad from a notice-board, Kric found there was a job requiring an alchemist to transmute something for a fee of anything they wanted. He naturally accepted, and this started off a rapid chain of events. He met the warrior woman Eiro, and after failing to transmute her regenerating armor, the two were attacked and left on an island. Eventually, Kric learned that Eiro’s armor had been put on her by Rize, God of Bones, in order to preserve his life.

Also, on the island, Eiro fell in love with Kric because of the freedom he had let her experience. Only after leaving the island did Kric return the feelings. Once they arrived at Rize’s castle, the duo fought the God, Eiro getting killed in the process. The rage he felt gave the alchemist a boost of power, which in addition to the disease that had robbed Rize of his immortality and power, aided him to kill the Death God. Turning to Eiro, Kric made the decision to perform human alchemy to bring her back. In doing this, he lost his left arm, and gained the ability to perform alchemy without having to draw a circle. But instead of restoring Eiro, he had turned her into a mass of flesh and bone. Before he could do anything else, the alchemist passed out.

Waking several hours later in a near death state because of the loss of blood from his arm, Kric found the castle to be empty, the flesh pile gone. Binding the wound with alchemy, Kric then discovered that he didn’t even need to draw to perform it. Scooping up Eiro’s dropped spears; the alchemist left the vacant castle.

Eventually making his way to the residence of his old mentor and automail mechanic, Heon, Kric had him make another automail arm with the spears, to serve as a constant reminder of what he had done to Eiro. Leaving his teachers home after it was fixed on, Kric began traveling around again, never gaining any peace and doomed to walk the earth with his great sin of human alchemy.

Re: Kric Ureon, the diamond alchemist

This character seems fairly reasonable as is, but he's a little too strong. I suggest you tone the Strengths down a bit, and also make him a little older.

Other than that, no problems.

EDIT: That should do.

*approves*
