Weapon: Mangeur D'âme or Soul Eater. It is a katana with a four and a half foot long blade and foot long hilt. The hilt and pommel are black with ornate, wavy lines. The blade itself is crimson red with runes carved on both sides, starting about one-third of the way down and ending two-third of the way down. The crimson color seems to swirl inside the blade, giving the sense that the sword is alive. The blade had the ability to consume the soul and blood of whatever it kills. The exact number it has consumed is unknown.
Armor: She has two iron bracers on each arm and an iron breastplate. These are normal pieces of armament that can block simple physical attacks and are somewhat difficult to break.
Strengths: Tanith has great swordsmanship and can come up with intricate styles to confuse an opponent. She also has near-perfect balance and can use the Soul Eater’s magic quite well. She is graceful and can dodge attacks easily.
Weaknesses: She tends to hold back while fighting, and stays in defense unless she knows her strike will connect. Other than the breastplate and bracers, the rest of her body is open to attack. Tanith is lacking a bit in the strength department and is vulnerable to physical attacks. She can also be distracted by the souls trapped in Soul Eater because they can enter her mind with memories.
Skills/Magic:
Soul Release-This move releases about five souls from Soul Eater, which seek out a target and hit with almost 100% accuracy, then fly back to the blade. This attack his hard to dodge but since the souls are forced against their will, it doesn’t do too much damage.
Blood Steal-This attack involves stabbing an opponent and leaving Soul Eater in the wound. The sword then proceeds to consume all the blood of this opponent, killing them. However, Tanith hardly uses this cruel attack and sticking the enemy is difficult to do. An opponent can easily put out the sword before it starts to consume their blood.
Death’s Shield-Using the souls in the blade, Tanith can create a magical barrier that blocks weak to medium strength magic attacks. It breaks under strong magic and cannot block physical attacks at all.
Possession-This isn’t a move that Tanith can activate on her own. The Soul Eater is a malevolent sword and can sometime possess it’s wielder. When this happens, her eyes become blood-red and she tries to kill her opponent at any cost. Her strength and speed increase but her judgement and tactical abilities are sorely reduced. This only occurs if Tanith’s life is on the edge or when Soul Eater hasn’t killed in a while, it looks for the nearest being to consume. Since Chamuel gave her a shard of his holy soul, the sword's ability to do this has been greatly reduced.
Souls
Forest Spirit- While battling forest spirits in the driad's domian, Tanith killed one and Soul Eater absorbed it's soul. This allows the knight to summon petals or leaves to whirl around the sword. They have razor edges and can either be flung at an opponent or used to increase the strength of Soul Eater's attackes. Of course, in order to use this soul, there must be plants around her. The petals and leaves can also be easily burned by fire.
Chamuel's Shard- After successfully getting through a temple atop a mountain, Tanith came face-to-face with the angel of obdience and ice, Chamuel. As a sign of his gratitude, he gave her a shard of his soul. Using this piece, the knight can summon up a holy sword to wield in conjunction with Soul Eater. The sword is about four feet long, three feet for the blade and one foot for the handle. The hilt is wrapped with a silky cloth and a small tassle hangs off the end. The guard is shaped as four angelic wings, two on each side. The blade itself is narrow where it attaches to the hilt but widens about an inch down. It then narrows again until it reaches a needle point. The blade is sharp on both sides. The entire sword is a uniform white that gives off a soft, pale blue light. In addition to simple swordfighting, the sword can also freeze whatever it touches with a command from Tanith. She can also wield it mentally, allowing the sword to float around her and guard her from all angles. However, doing this requires quite a bit of concentration that can be broken easily even if the knight isn't struck.
Appearance: Tanith wears a red coat with two long coat tails that reach her ankles. Underneath this is a iron breastplate which has a black shirt underneath that. She has black leggings and black boots that reach just below her knees. She also has two iron gauntlets on her hands. In her ears are two ruby-studded earrings and she has a silver cross around her neck. Her hair reaches is a little pass her shoulders but is usually kept in a braid. Soul Eater is kept in a black sheath with the same runes as on the blade which is in turn held around her waist by a black belt. Her skin is olive colored and her eyes give off a since of peacefullness.
Personality: Tanith is a kind yet quiet person. She is an introvert and prefers to be alone, though she won’t deny a friend. She also is intelligent and likes to daydream. Sometimes she can get so caught up in thoughts that she doesn’t notice other people so a person might have to prod her before getting a response. She only speaks when necessary and usually in only one word sentences unless the answer requires more. Tanith doesn’t like to fight others so in battles she will usually stay on the defensive. She only attacks when she is sure of it. Though, she can become a furious battler if someone is threatening her friends or innocents. Tanith is also prejudice against vampires and other beings such as that, due to her upbringing. She is strong in her Christian faith.

Biography: Tanith was born in 1134 A.D. in Europe. Her father was an accomplished knight who served in the First Crusade and her mother was a simple woman who worked at home. Her father was gone to the Middle East when she was born so she never met him until she was six. That was because, one day, while her mother was traveling back from a larger town, she was attack and killed by a vampire. Usually, the Church would handle such things as this but with fighting over in the Holy Land, they did nothing. Infuriated, her father returned home to raise the now motherless child. He also became a vampire hunter to avenge the death of his love. He became quite successful and was able to provide a decent life for Tanith, but that wasn’t enough.
Her father was never able to find the vampire that killed his wife. So when Tanith was old enough, twelve, he started teaching her to fight. He taught her everything he knew about the sword and how to hunt children of the night. Even his hatred was taught to her. He of course did this in secret, woman were not suppose to know how to fight. When he felt that she knew enough, when she was seventeen, he gave her the breastplate, the gauntlets, and a broadsword to come on hunts with him. She managed to prove herself to be quite the knight, able to fight alongside her father. About six month later, her father took sick and, because of the inadequate medicine, died. She vowed to continue hunting in his name and her mother’s.
At the age of twenty, she came upon a vampire that was different from all she had met. He didn’t seem intent on killing humans like most. In fact, he almost seemed kind. However, when she mentioned that she was a knight of the church, unofficially, he became furious and attacked. His power was so great that he easily defeated Tanith and even broke her broadsword in two. Though, when she was on the ground, helpless, he didn’t strike the final blow. Instead, he spoke to her. “A knight of God? Hmph. God is an imbecile who cares about no one. You will see that soon enough.” With that declaration, the vampire turned into a bat and flew away. Tanith, confused by all this, stood up to see that he had left a sword behind. Its all-black sheath was mysterious with its runes but when she pulled out the actually sword, she saw nothing strange about it. The slightly curved blade was made of iron and the ornate hilt was just black metal. Seeing as how her broadsword was broken, she decided to take this one as her new weapon. Despite its different shape, the female learned to use it just as well as her other sword in only two weeks.
Then, her hunt with the new sword came. She easily cut down the vampire that was the target and was pleased with how her weapon handled. But when she landed the killing blow, the sword began to consume the vampire’s blood, turning the blade a crimson color. Finally, it absorbed the being’s soul. Tanith was terrified of what the sword did and tried to drop it then and there, but couldn’t. Something dark, evil wrapped itself around her very spirit. Suddenly, she was overcome with an urge to kill. She made her way to the nearest village, which was a small one, and slaughtered everyone there, allowing the sword to consume their blood and souls. After the massacre, the sword seemed satisfied and released its control over her.
Tanith dropped to her knees in horror over what had happened. Although it was against her will, she had murdered an entire village. At that point, she almost attempted suicide. But the vampire’s words suddenly rang in her head, "A knight of God? Hmph. God is an imbecile who cares about no one," and a feeling of hatred filled her heart. The vampire was right. She had fought foul beings in His name and what was her reward? An evil sword that forced her to kill people. Fortunately, the last part echoed even louder, “You will see that soon enough.” Her eyes opened to truth, he knew! That vampire knew she would pick up the cursed sword and use it. It wasn’t God’s fault, it was his...and her’s. She looked at the red-bladed sword, Mangeur D'âme she now knew it was called. The blade had the souls of every being it had killed inside, and they told her what she need to know. That the blade was forged out of blood itself and the soul of powerful vampire. And that with its first kill under her, its evil power bonded to her soul. She was cursed to be the wielder of this malevolent sword.
Four years later...
It seems like an eternity since I came in contact with Soul Eater. I’ve been doing what I can, trying to learn to control it better. I’ve had to go on hunts at least every two months to satisfy this evil sword, otherwise it will possess me again. I am still tortured over that event... I have made a small name for myself, people are skeptical over hiring a woman, and I will always do what I promised, to hunt evil beings in the name of God, for my mother and father. Perhaps I will find that one vampire again, though I do not know what I would do in that situation. All I can do now is fight with Mangeur D'âme, this lamentable sword.
