Slayers are humans imbued with magical powers, different from something like a witch or sorcerer. Their magic revolves around the holy/light element. Not only can they use this for spells, the magic also enhances a Slayer’s physical prowess, making them stronger and faster than an average human. Because of these qualities, these humans usually dedicate themselves to hunting down Daemons (i.e. demons, werewolves, witches, etc.), hence their name. The ice demon part is fairly self-explanatory.

Weapons: Sora uses a special crystal known as Omni. It has the ability to create swords from the eight elements.
Armor: None
Strengths: Because of her dual bloodline, Sora’s strength and speed are high, her speed more so than her strength. And since she doesn’t look particularly powerful, her strength can be surprising to some people who only judge by appearances. Her swordsmanship is excellent as well. While she hasn’t completely mastered all the forms of Omni, what forms she is skilled with can be devastating to someone unused to physical and/or sword combat. Since she uses different stances with each sword, the half-breed can switch effortlessly and trip an opponent up if they’re focused on one stance. Also, the swords have the ability to somewhat protect her against the element that particular sword is created from. She isn’t shy of hand-to-hand combat, either, though she’s not quite as good in that area. Sora’s also stubborn as dirt and can keep going if she’s determined enough.
Weaknesses: While her heritage gives her excellent physical capabilities, the two bloodlines cancel out each other’s magic. Therefore, she can’t use any magic that would be innate to either Slayers or demons. Since she only uses swords or hand-to-hand combat, Sora’s helpless if a battle turns long-range. If she uses a sword that she hasn’t fully mastered yet, her swordsmanship can turn a little sloppy. She can’t take too much more punishment than a normal human; while injuries such as slash wounds can be mostly ignored, a broken bone could almost put her out of commission. Finally, she has an extremely short temper. Even little taunts can piss her off. While she has managed to learn to think while still being mad, it can cause her to overlook little things.
Skills
Sight - The only innate ability that Sora wields. Her left, red-colored eye can see hidden things. She usually uses this to see Daemons that are in disguise but she can also see some things hidden by magic. This ability can’t be “turned” off or on so she will always see whatever is hidden. Because of that, she can sometimes be distracted by something that sticks out in her sight.
Forms of Omni
First Level
Seraphim - This katana is created from the holy element. It’s blade is three and a half feet long and gray in color, appearing to simply be made from steel. The guard is a flat circle and white in color. The handle is wrapped in a white cloth. Sora is highly skilled with this form. She can use broad swipes, fast cuts, and even stab at the opponent with this form.
Nova - This form is a pair of swords from the fire element. The blades are three feet long, pale red in color, and both sides are sharp. The guard is a simple bar while the handle has a an orb sitting on the top that appears to have a fire inside of it. The guard and handle appears to be made of a bright red crystal and is partially see-through. With this form, Sora has a good balance of offense and defense because she can use her left hand to block attacks and her right hand to counter-attack. Her skill with this form is fairly good.
Zephyr - A rapier made out of the wind element. The blade on this sword is a thin, cone-shape that comes to a small point. The blade is also light green in color. The guard is a basket guard which means that it curves upwards in a basket-shape to protect most of Sora’s hand. The guard is made of thin wires and weave around each other so someone could get through the guard to her hand if they somehow came close enough to do so. The handle and guard are also gold in color. As with most rapiers, this form is only good for thrusting and stabbing. Because of this restriction of movement, Sora’s skill with this form is moderate.
Zero - This sword is a falchion created from ice elements. The blade is wide, about one and half feet, and has a single curve near the tip. It is also colored light blue. The guard is also a single bar while the handle is wrapped in a silver cloth. The guard and the tip of the handle are also silver. While the wide blade is slightly unwieldily, Sora has a pretty good grasp of this sword. This form uses broad strokes and cuts.
Pure - The water element is used to create this scimitar. This blade is also curved but is gently curved in its entirety and is also much more thin than a falchion. The blade is deep blue in color. The guard again is a simple cross-guard, a bar between the handle and blade, while the handle has small grooves in it for a stronger grip. The handle and guard are both clear, giving the impression that it could be easy to break them. Also like Zero, this blade uses broad slashes to attack but can also thrust if there is a good opening. Sora’s skill with this blade is also fairly good.
Ion - A more radical sword created from the lightning element. The handle on this blade is covered in a royal purple cloth that is rough to the touch. This allows Sora to keep a firm grip on the weapon. The guards, one at each end of the handle, are a pair of cross-guards, the two bars are perpendicular to each other, that curve downwards and end in a sharp point; a protection against anyone trying to grab the sword or take it out of the wielder’s hand. These are also royal purple in color. The two blades, one on each end, are also wide but are also curved throughout their length. The sharp edge is also serrated with the teeth pointing backwards. The blades are also purple but have bright green veins running through their length. With this form, Sora uses circular, spinning motions with the sword to continually keep both blades in action. Because of the size and dual blades, she can block an attack and quickly counter. If she manages to catch an opponent with the serrated teeth, she can use it to literally rip open a wound in foe. However, because of its size and strange composition, Sora doesn’t quite have the skill with sword as she does with the others.
Gaea - A claymore created from the earth element. The blade on this sword is also double-edge and quite long, about four feet. It is also gray in color and appears to be made of steel. The cross-guard is brown in color. The handle is made for two hands and wrapped in a brown cloth. This sword is meant to cleave an opponent and whatever defense they have. While its size does slow Sora down a little, she is actually fairly good with it now. She looks clumsy while using it but had good reaction time to guard against attacks. Because of its power, Sora likes to use this sword when she’s feeling particularly blunt in doing something.
Oni - This is also a katana but created from the dark element. The blade is also three and a half feet long and gray in color, appearing to be made of gray. However, the circular guard is black and the handle is wrapped in black cloth. Also like Seraphim, this sword uses broad strokes, quick cuts, and stabbing. Sora is also very adept with this form, though not quite as good as with Seraphim.
Dual Forms
Baal - This form is a katana formed by the light and dark elements. The blade is almost identical to the swords that form it except that the blade is white in color while the guard is black and the handle is wrapped in black cloth. It’s style also consists of broad swipes, fast cuts, and thrusts. Sora is highly proficient with this form as well, the same level as with Oni. This sword can also nullify light and dark elements used against it.
Current - This sword is formed by the water and lightning elements. The handle is wrapped in royal purple cloth while the guard is the same four sharp points. The dual curved blades are also serrated. However, the blades are a light blue color with darker blue veins running through them. Sora also uses circular and spinning motions to keep both blades in play and can rip a wound in the opponent with the serrated teeth. However, her skill with this form is still a little lacking and is a tad harder to control because of it being created from two elements. Current can nullify attacks made against it by the water and lightning elements.
Degree - A pair of swords created from the fire and ice elements. The blades of the swords are curved throughout their entirety and pale red in color. The cross-guard and handle are also clear in color, also creating the impression they are easily breakable. Sora can also use these for offense and defense, blocking with her left and attacking with her right. The attacks usually consist of sweeping cuts but can be used for thrusting if there is a good opening. Sora has a good amount of skill with these swords. This form has the ability to nullify fire and ice type against it.
Tornado - A combination of the wind and earth elements. This swords has a brown cross-guard with a two-handed handle wrapped in brown cloth. The blade is a bit smaller than Gaea’s but still fairly large. While the blade is double-edged, the tip is a bit longer and comes to a small point. It is green in color. This sword is still mostly used to powerful and cleaving swings but the point can also be used to thrust, which can take people by surprise. Sora’s skill is fairly good but could use a little more work. As with other forms, this sword can nullify attacks of the wind and earth elements.
Third Forms
Creation - A pair of blades created from the light, dark, fire, and ice elements. The swords are katanas with three and a half feet long blades while the guards are still circular. The katana she wields in her left hand has a black blade while the guard is red and the handle is wrapped in a red cloth. The right-handed katana has a white blade while the guard is clear and the handle is wrapped in a light blue cloth. Same as before, Sora uses the left sword to block while she uses the right to counter with strokes, cuts, and thrusts. She can also attack with both swords in conjunction but hasn’t quite master that stance. Her proficiency with this form is pretty good, the main challenge being the fact that the swords are created from four elements. This form can also repel attacks of the light, dark, fire, and ice elements.
Disaster - This sword is a combination of the lightning, water, earth, and wind elements. The handle of this sword still retains its royal purple cloth. However, the pair of four pointed guards are brown in color and, while still ending in a sharp point, have small branches that stick out and also end in sharp points. The blades have the same proportions and are also serrated but one blade is light green in color with green veins while the other blade is light blue with dark blue veins. As before, Sora also uses spinning and circular motions to keep both blades in play. However, this blade are also useful for cleaving the opponent if enough force can be put behind the blow. Due to the strange composition and make-up of four elements, Sora still needs to become used to this form. She’s not bad with it but there is room for improvement. This sword can also repel attacks made by the lightning, water, earth, and wind elements.
Appearance: Sora wears a pair of khaki pants that aren’t baggy but aren’t tight, a black sleeveless shirt that molds to her figure, and a green, cloth poncho that reaches to her waist. She also wears a pair of black leather boots that zip up the side and reach about a third up her calf. Sora has a pair of leather gauntlets that she inherited from her father. The gauntlets are fingerless and have padding on the back of the hand and arm where they cover half of her lower arm. The right gauntlet has a prismatic gem in the middle of the back of the hand; that is Omni. The hunter also has a small golden cross on a golden chain that has a garnet in the middle. She usually keeps it hidden under her poncho so she won’t lose it. Her black hair reaches down to the middle of her back and is allowed to flow freely. Even though it is free, her hair hardly ever gets in her way. Her skin his a healthy tan color. Finally, she has a diagonal scar on her back.
Personality: Sora is, first and foremost, short-tempered. It’s easy to get on her bad side. While she doesn’t start screaming at people or anything like that, she does like to glare and give out insults. She also has a tendency to be a little more short-tempered with friends than with enemies, though it’s hard to tell a difference. And because she shows her temper to friends, about the only way people know she trusts them is if she’s tries to help them. However, there are a few friends that force her to drop her attitude. When that’s down, she’s a fairly cheerful person, if still retaining her sarcasm. She does enjoy a good fight but can be a sore loser. Finally, Sora can be sensitive about her heritage. If someone starts insulting her about it, it can really set her off.
Biography: Sora was born in the city of Nyx to Kain Atichae. Kain was a freelance Slayer, usually taking jobs that involved going after some kind of Daemon who was causing trouble. She never knew her mother and, when asked, her father would barely give any details other than that her mother was a wonderful person. However, despite the scant details on her mother, Kain taught Sora all about the world she had been born into; of Daemons, Slayers, and the politics revolving around actions taken by both sides. He started training her to fight around the age of ten. She was nature at combat which made her father happy, knowing she would be able to take care of herself. However, when it came to jobs, he never took her one, even if she asked.
Finally, when she was 15, her father decided to give her Omni to hold onto. Sora was confused by this since Kain never let the crystal out of his sight. She did honor her father’s request and kept the weapon while her father went on another mission. Sora wanted to go with her father because she knew something was bothering him but, as always, he made her stay behind. She started to worry even more when her father didn’t come home after a few hours. It usually never took him too long to finish a job. If it did, he would tell her so. Then, when her uncle, Jacob Atichae, came to pick her up, she knew something was terribly wrong. Jacob took her to his apartment where he told her the devastating news, her father had been killed against the demon he had gone to hunt. Sora didn’t believe him at first and purposefully gave her uncle trouble. However, when she was taken to a small church for his funeral, Sora finally had to accept that her father was gone.
For awhile, Sora continued to give her uncle troubles. He was able to start training her, finally. Mainly, he started teaching her how to use Omni. Jacob also allowed her to come on jobs which gave Sora more experience that she had ever had. However, her uncle didn’t really get any dangerous jobs due to his rather small business.
At the age of eighteen, Sora decided it was time to start her own business. With a little financial help from her uncle, she rented her own apartment. He also helped spread the word about her new services. Her first employer was definitely skeptical of her but when she ridded him of the insect demon, he also helped spread the word. Sora received only little jobs but, to her, it was better than nothing.
It wasn’t too long after opening that she was contracted to kill an ice demon that had been terrorizing a region of the city. Confidant in her abilities, she went to confront the ice demon by herself. Unfortunately, he was much stronger than she thought. He managed to injure her before she managed to injure him. The demon wasn’t interested in finishing her off just yet, though. First, he introduced himself as Drayden and Sora’s brother. Sora actually laughed at him when he said this, concluding that he was crazier than he was strong. Drayden only smiled at the female and went on to talk about how their mother was an ice demon like himself. Their parents had truly loved each other, much to the son’s disgust, but the mother finally left when other Slayers began to show their own disgust of the relationship. Not long after their mother left, Drayden broke into Kain’s house and tried to kill his sister, only managing to wound her back before being driven away. That little fact shook Sora as no one else but her family, Jacob, knew about the scar on her back. Finally, the ice demon decided he would tell her exactly what happened to her father. Drayden was the demon Kain had left to go after but, perhaps unfortunately, he hadn’t left to kill the demon but to try to reason with him. Scoffing at his father’s attempted, Drayden killed Kain that night. That set Sora off more than anything else the ice demon said. She rushed at Drayden, determined to kill him. He managed to overpower her but, in his arrogance, he turned his back to her in an attempt to humiliate her even more. Sora rushed up behind him and thrust both of Nova’s swords through the demon’s body. She then stayed to make sure that Drayden died.
After that, Sora lost consciousness. She awoke in an alley by her apartment building with a vampire staring at her. When she tried to summon a sword and defend herself, the vampire only chuckled. He introduced himself as Johannes and told Sora that he was the one who brought her back. When she asked why, he only stated that she looked like someone who would be of great use. After all, killing an ice demon like Drayden wasn’t exactly a small feat. Johannes then bid her goodbye and left her in the alley. However, Sora didn’t go back to her apartment but instead made her way back to her uncle’s. She confronted Jacob about what the ice demon had said. Obviously uncomfortable, he nonetheless admitted that what Drayden said had been true. Sora simply said thanks and left. Upon getting back to her apartment, she held herself in it for several days, not knowing what to do with herself. She had always prided herself on being a Slayer but now she knew that was only half true. Her other half was basically what she had committed herself to hunting.
Thankfully, after a few days, she decided to hell with what her bloodline may be. Unfortunately, her troubles didn’t stop with that decision. Not too long after she started working again, she found herself under attack by and organization called Immortal Light. She only knew from her father that they were a group of Slayers with a more radical idea of peace-keeping; mainly exterminating all Daemons. And, of course, they didn’t like the idea of a half-breed running around, especially with Omni, what they considered a powerful weapon. They attacked her several times but she was able to fend them off. After the fourth attack, they promptly told her that they had worse Daemons to worry about than her and stopped trying to attack her. Sora just figured that they had to make up some reason since they couldn’t handle her beating them all the time. Finally, after a couple of weeks, Johannes contacted her with the first of several jobs.
Nyx: The city where Sora was born and raised. A sprawling city that grew too big for its own good. The industrial section of the city is the largest part, a little over one-third of the area. Factories continually run and belch fumes into the air. While not the only cause, these fumes make up most of the smog that covers the Nyx. So thick is it that not the sun, moon, or stars can be seen through it, hence the city’s name. The residency areas are little better, mostly made up of houses and apartment complexes that have long since fallen into disrepair. Most businesses make money through dishonest means such as drugs, prostitution, and the selling of stolen goods. Those that do make it honestly, while not it good financial status, have the strange respect of those who are unable to be honest. Finally, in the northeastern part of the city live the upper-class of Nyx. Millionaires who care nothing for the people outside of their skyscrapers and sterile rooms. The only time they contact those on the outside is if money-making is involved and their methods are some of the most depraved.
Of course, the most interesting thing about Nyx is the population. The number is around 12,000,000 people. However, that’s just the human population in the city which only counts for a third. The rest of the beings are supernatural Daemons and Slayers. Daemons do business pretty much the same as their human counterparts except that the business tends to turn violent far more often. Slayers go after Daemons that injure and kill the humans living in the city. Some Daemons even make a business out of giving Slayers other Daemons to go after. However, the largest group of Slayers, Immortal Light, is interested in wiping out all Daemons. Their deals tend to be even worst than most Daemons since they would do anything to see their idea come to fruition. They are smart enough to leave some of the more powerful and influential Daemons alone, though, despite their deep hatred. The human population is obviously to most of what happens between their preternatural counterparts. Those that do notice it tend to simply ignore it in order to not get involved.
