Maximilian Cronqvist (Extended and improved)
I know I've done this twice, but I think this will be the last. (BTW I used Linkrules's awesome format for making this character, since it seemed to work so well.)
Name: Maximilian Cronqvist
Age: 200
Race: Vampire
Gender: Male
Weight: 120 lbs.
Height: 5’ 10”
Eyes: His irises are the dark red color of dried blood.
Blood: Darker red than most humanoid beings.
Mental: Youthful at heart, and noble in some respects, Max was wicked, but is now more of a neutral type of being. Because he is a vampire, he lusts for blood, but not as frequently as he did when he hunted prey for fun. He loves his wife, and knows that due to things out of his control, he may never see her again. His mind is also hardened by the fact that he has seen his children both die twice in a course of months. His mental state has gone into a more mellow tone, as he casually travels worlds on his dragon, with fear of nothing.
Instinct: Maximilian’s senses are greater than that of a human’s, being a vampire. His vision, hearing, touch, etc. are excellent, and he uses all of them to the fullest advantage in battle. Recently, he seems to have premonitions when really terrible things are about to happen, like visions that last about two seconds.
Magic: One day, in the forests of Nexus, Max came upon a dark shrine, that seemed to be abandoned. He explored it, and found four rings: One glowed white with the power of winter; one glowed with the flaming red of summer; one glowed with the faint, dying red of autumn; one shimmered with the light green of spring. Max kept these rings for a long while, and eventually he decided to give three of them away, to his closest allies. He gave the ring of winter to his good friend the samurai demon, Murasame. He gave the ring of summer to his beloved vampiric wife, Cassandra. He gave the third ring to Murasame’s wife, who is also a vampire, Matsuko.
An ancient god, the same who created the rod of seasons and gave it to the land of Holodrum, created these mystic rings. After the Hero of Time vanquished Onox, General of Darkness, the spirits within the rod receded back to the power of the god, and it placed the spirits into the rings, leaving them in a small shrine, behind a hollow wall.
Max’s ring has the magical power of autumn, and gives him all the power of that season. For example, he can manipulate leaves, which upon his touch become sharp as blades. He can then blow them at his enemy like a shuriken, only these leaves can move as fast as half the speed of sound.
Max also knows a small bit about manipulating shadows, as he was one for the short period that he worked for a vile alchemist, as a paid assassin.
Weapon: Max’s only physical weapon besides leaves is his phantom blade, Jenorath. It takes the form of ectoplasm stored within his arm when not in use. It is a strange-looking, long, and razor sharp sword with a gleaming metallic hilt and a dark purple blade so reflective looking into it is like gazing into a mirror. When in battle, the blade emanates a strange, hazy, purple smoke that can confuse and blind the enemy. Etched into the side of the blade, in ancient script, are the words “Beyond and To All Time I Stand…”
Armour: Max wears no armor anymore, as it hinders movement, but he can use leaves as a shield, which he can summon from trees mentally, or store them in his sleeve. This sounds impossible to someone who would assume the leaves would fall out of his shirt, but Max’s power over them is absolute. He can make them stick perfectly to his flesh until he needs them, which is very useful. He can also generate a photokinetic shield.
Energy: Maximilian can go very long periods of time before tiring out, and that way he is able to survive even very long battles.
Skills: Max has the ability to become much stronger, which results in a visual transformation as well: he grows his sharp, black, fingernails even longer, His hair grows down to his knees, he also becomes much taller, and he grows a pair of large bat-like wings. The vampire inherited this power from his Grandfather, Count Dracula.
Photokinesis is Max’s ability to control the power of light with his mind; He can shoot beams of light energy at his opponent, as well as blind them with a less powerful blast, in addition to using light as a shield. He can use this power in conjunction with his reflective armor and blade to bend light and create illusions. Also, his Photokinetic Shield can slowly regenerate his life energy.
Another skill is Max’s power of the blight of autumn, which causes a temporary necrosis in the area he touches. When he is using this skill, which he activates with his will in conjunction with the magic ring, he causes the grass around his feet to die.
He also has all of the same skills of most vampires, with the exception of being hurt by sunlight. He was born with an immunity to being hurt by the sun, being a relative of Dracula himself a.k.a. Mathias Cronqvist, who Max posed as for a while upon arriving in Nexus, pretending to search for the crimson stone.
Strength: Max’s physical strength is typical of a physically fit vampire, and increases drastically upon transformation.
Weakness: Although he is immune to sunlight, holy things such as crucifixes, blessed water, etc. still harm him more than anything else.
Regeneration: Max can regenerate lost limbs, but it takes excessively long periods of time to do so, and if Max loses a limb, he can reattach the body part, whole or not, to accelerate the process.
Appearance: Maximilian's clothing is an odd mixture of the rich businessman he once was, and the monk-in training he is now. He now wears a black version of a monk's robe, with a wide, open neck that reveals a small portion of his chest, and the lower, skirt-like portion of the robe is torn down the middle, revealing his lower half. One of the sleeves on the robe has been torn off, showing his muscular arm. Max also wears a black spiked collar on the base of his neck. Beneath the robe, he wears a pair of expensive black jeans, and he wears a pair of stylish shoes. He can sometimes be seen with a guitar slung over his back. He also carries a pair of very cool shades, which he wears most of the time. As for his face, many women have considered it handsome, and Max himself is not one to disagree.
Sildars: Because Max grew to hate the freckled, red-haired god who lied about the fate of Max’s children for the sick pleasure of watching Max devour them, he invited people whom he gave the rings to join his secret society, which has the sole purpose of planning the destruction of this wretched being. This society, called the sildars, is represented by this poem, written by Max himself:
The Sildar Syndicate…The Four Seasons of Death…
Who can outrun the wind,
Yet stand still as an oak,
Be as gentle as a breeze
Yet rip out your throat?
We reap what you sow....
Who appear like nightmare,
Yet vanish like smoke?
We reap what you sow....
Who lie in shadows, and hunt like the hawk, bring Death in their wake, yet leave no mark where they walk?
We reap what you sow....
Whose hearts blaze black and as one?
Whose souls are frozen like ice,
Yet their eyes burn bright with autumn’s fire?
Spring…Summer…Autumn…Winter…
The false god must be cast down...
The Four Seasons of Death, the Sildars.
Personality:he was once enamored with avarice, constantly hunting for money and ways to make him more powerful. Now his mind is basically cleansed of all needs besides the essentials. He can be quite unusual at times, and quite cruel as well. Outside of battle he is a pretty decent guy, unless you insult him.
History: Maximilian Cronqvist was born on August 7, 1804. Max’s father’s name is rumored to be Alucard Cronqvist. Early in his life, Max spent many years of his early life reading literature, being lecherous, and practicing his swordsmanship at his grandfather's castle, until Mathias allowed him to leave. Afterwards, Alucard offered Max many chances to battle his cruel grandfather alongside Alucard’s allies, the Belmonts, but he declined. Max spent his young adulthood living alone in the forest. he started a mysterious small business many years later, naming it Immortal Eye, Ltd. It steadily grew over the years, and it became very successful, and moved to Japan. While leading his company, Max learned how to wield various types of firearms and other weaponry from a Yakuza named Akira Torashima. Upon reaching his 200th birthday, He bought himself a small, stone statue of a strange, lizard-like creature, which he found in a curios shop. He had taken it home to his castle, and set it up on a shelf. In a strange turn of fate, the statue fell off the shelf, and exploded into a thousand tiny fragments, and became a portal to Nexus, which he spent a few years living in.
Max has been through many things while living in other worlds, which include getting married to a woman named Cassandra, having kids, being cloned, being temporarily mutated, and working for an evil alchemist. He has a passion for rock music, and his favorite instrument is the guitar.
He was told by the red haired man that his children were destined to become something called the Sildarqethi, a duo of power so immense they were destined to destroy the entire world he was living in at the time, Nexus. Max thought he was forced to relinquish this evil by devouring his children as they left the womb, to purify the souls they possessed to free them of the devils within them. Max trusted the man with red hair to resurrect them back from the dead, and he wickedly brought the souls of constructs into them. Max discovered this upon the fact that two people entered Nexus, Julius Blue and Anna, which looked exactly like Max and his wife. Max destroyed the false children, and tried to make a decent family. Julius was in shock from what his father did to purify him, as his mind was filled with images of darkness, and pain. He ran away, and a huge green beast tore apart him apart, leaving only a heartless corpse. Max, Cassandra, and Anna wept his loss, and the next day, a wicked phantom named Orion slew the beautiful Anna, and dropped her head upon Max’s lap. Max went insane with rage, and swore to exact revenge. Max didn’t know it, but this creature Orion was a shadow of himself, who was born through Max’s past job as an assassin, working for an Alchemist. Because of this, the only way to defeat the evil spirit was by Cassandra slaying it. She defeated it, and left the Hanya Mask it wore in the family lockbox, never to be used again. Max then meant to leave for a few days, but the evil deity named Nefirian Phoenix sealed him off from Nexus forever, using a potent barrier.
Max then went on a journey to find himself at a monastery on Earth, and discovered that Greed was ruining his life. The Kagrua-Ji monastery that he is currently trained in is sacred, and it is surprisingly odd that an unholy creature like Max was allowed to be instructed there. After being there for several days, Max’s Wolfen friend arrived at the monastery, due to a terra-shift, and they went on a quest to find the creature’s lost family members, which got them involved with an elite country’s army, and a quest to find several missing foreign-affairs officers, in exchange for a vehicle to make the quest easier. Upon returning, he discovered that a barrier was blocking his entrance to the world where his beloved wife awaited.
He has a dragon by the current name of Astralis, which he uses to traverse worlds, using it’s newly acquired magic. He has several allies back in Nexus, by the names of Enever, a Wolfen; Murasame, a samurai; Matsuko, a vampiress; Shinkei, an elf, and Konjiro, a small demon.
