Name: Evelyne Aranea {Evh - Lhen Air-ah-knee-ah}

Nicknames: Eve, Spid-pire; by her guild-mates, especially the elder members (never spoken out in public, for obvious reasons).

Occupation: Venom Seller/Assassin - specializes in spider venom. She rarely takes on contracts though, more valued as a merchant to the guild.

Race: Feran Vampire - Energy feeder
Explanation Feran vampire's are similar to the modern day vampire, but they all of the traditional weaknesses - except they negate the death parts, but they will still technically go through a "death" period of inactivity. Most Feran's have only one major weakness, from the common list; like instead of staking, some are outright allergic to wood, some faint at the merest sign of the sun, others are "too curious" about fire. Feran's are also hard to make out from humans, except for their strange tattoo-markings on their body. The tattoos are not applied, but grow onto the vampire, the beginning ones usually tell other Ferans what type of vampire the one is. The longest recording age for a Feran vampire is 1,000, but there may be some past that age, due to the lack of many vampire-slayers in the world.

Energy variants are generally harder to find than the traditional blood feeders, as they don't leave much of a trace; at most, a person is unconscious.

Eye Color: Evelyne's eyes are a blue heterochromia, with her left being a watery blue, and the right being near navy

Hair Color/Style: Black, shoulder length hair, spidery/ loose/wispy/ wind-blown look.

General Appearance: Ms. Aranea seems short, but she has power in her frame, from the many years to training to be an assassin. The vampire can easily get around with her parkour knowledge, thanks to her longer arms and legs, only about three inches longer than normal. Her short black hair, appears windblown, or a gentle wild style to it, framing her round face well. Being an energy vampire, Evelyne is pale, but not grossly so, having a faint tint of pink to her skin.

Lithe and agile are the norm for her, and her clothing hides this fact; from her long hooded jacket and her navy jeans. Underneath is a spiraled graphic, purple tee. Evelyne does not wear a bra, but has woven a cloth to hold herself close, even though without, her chest does not get in the way, with a natural size B. She wears a slightly worn bare of basic black sneakers, the sole being thinner than normal, so she can feel the walls.

Also, there is a pair of her spider form's legs attached to her spine, which hug her lower ribcage, they are shortened than her natural spider form, but she rarely shows, let alone uses them. As for her tattoos; she only has two wedge shapes along her right side in a dark purple color, but the top-most seems jagged.

Weapon(s): A couple of pocket knives, both have a kukri blade style, and are nine inches long all together. The handles of both have a small silver spider etched near the blade, the front legs point to the blade's base. The blade is four inches long, and the hilt is five inches long, with three holes at the end, to easily attach the weapon to clasps and lighten it. The vampire only uses these for self defense, or if a contract insists on an up-close kill.

*Eve has had other knives over the years, but these are her blades of choice for now.

Vernix - One of Evelyne's three pet spiders, and her main weapon - especially for assassinations. Vernix holds any venom it drinks up, then uses that as its own.

Armor: From first look, she has no armor except for the clothes on her, but they are back-coated in her webbing. Evelyne's clothing is almost as strong as steel, and highly flexible like normal cloth and denim are. Her shoes are the only thing not coated, so they are normal.

Carried Possessions:

Bag; A simple leather bag, it's straps are a braid of leathers, dark and light alternating. The color is a dull gray-brown, cracked from age in spots, especially around the straps and the pockets.

The bag itself has a box-like shape, but has been used so much that it's become soft, with nearly cloth-like sagging on the bottom. It has three pockets in total; two small on the sides, and one large one in front, with only a clasp hold them shut. Evelyne has sewn the pockets shut with twine over the years, so thieves have a hard time getting to her items.

Sharpening Steel/Old Grouch - The four-inch, steel rod is wrapped in thick leather on one side. It is somewhat flat on one side, and she's had to re-roughen it, with a guild-mate's help, over the years. Eve has a hilt specially made it hold it, but she has repeatedly lost it, or remarks that it kills her skill while using the rod. It's home is in the main pocket, usually resting in the bottom. It got it's name from the kick it gives her as she sharpens her knives, even though she's gotten her technique down for not breaking her knives.

Vials Eight metal-guarded, glass vials attached to her belt, via a combination of small climbing clips and thick thread. The metal has a web designed cage around the bottles, letting the venom's natural colors to show through. The vials themselves are a made from a thick glass - as the venom is sometimes hard to gather, and rectangular in shape, including the neck. The stopper on them is cork and a custom cut, and a metal disc serves as means to open a vial, engraved with a spider on it's web.

The rest of her components are slung into the leather bag on her back. Evelyne tends to carry a satchel of bandages, and ointments, and about six extra vials in leather pouches, some holding snake venom.

Powers/Magic/Skills:
Limits and Side effects are listed below the spells, as {L} or {S/E}

Hunger: Evelyne is an energy vampire, so naturally she needs to feed. Normally, she can feed from a crowd without any appearance changes. But, crowds only give her a very weak amount, as she's leeching from a lot of humans. Using this causes no drain to herself, but it's activated by her eyes flashing black for a moment, in a blink mostly.

{S/E} As she gets more hungry, her movements get sluggish as well as overall weakness [human form only]. The biggest change is her eyes will begin to pale, stopping and going pure black when her spider form comes over Evelyne. Her eyes will slowly or quickly pale depending on activity levels, but as she's learned to manage herself, being very active doesn't have a huge drop to Eve's hunger.

Due to Evelyne having two hunter instincts within; her vampire and her spider side, this makes Aranea's hunger sometime unbearable. Only brought on when she is starving. Eve's body slowly shifts over to her spider form, either stopping at her hybrid, or her pure spider form - depending on how the spider feels.

Transformation - Natural variant = Spider: [Skill] Evelyne's body grows and shrinks as her spider form takes hold. Most places are obscured, and the change is mostly painless for her. Her legs break into two pairs, as her arms break in to form the fourth pair, while the third is already there, it just lengthens more. The vampire's shifted body turns a deep purple, and navy blue hairs sprout all over, fading into a dark violet from the second digit to her claws. Her previous arms have become the pedipalps of the spider. Her spider form is a massive tarantula, but oddly light enough to crawl on the webbing she makes. It spans about ten feet when all legs are stretched out, normally seven feet long, and height tends to waiver around four feet laying on the ground, to eight feet standing on claws alone. The eyes take on a traditional layout, but keep her heterochromia appearance in all eight.

{L} - As of her training from guild-mates, Evelyne can still only manage this at most five times a day. Causes a medium drop to her energy, putting her near hybrid stage, if forced into it the maximum amount of times. It also is limited by danger, if anything threatening is nearby, she can speed up the process (Applies to both forms).

Transformation - Hunger variant = Hybrid: [Skill] This skill also uses the same method as the natural version, except it's cut in half. Evelyne's lower half is shifted into the spider, while her upper half stays somewhat untouched. Sometimes, the spider in her wants more, so it may take all or a portion of either arm, and twist it into a pedipalp-blade of sorts.

The main difference is how the legs are formed, her legs break out into three pairs, before the final pair shifts downwards, from thier natural place. This variation is more aggressive, since Evelyne's hunger drives her to hunt more, but she can show patience as well. Also, her personality shift a bit towards confidence and playful boasting, especially when she has caught prey.

{L} - Only used when her hunger is getting to her. {S/E} Same as Hunger's side effect (second paragraph), above.

Webbing: [Skill - Both Transformations ONLY]


[Hybrid] - She can create her web from her hands, instead of traditionally. The vampire's more apt to make web nets, and pounce in this state. The nets themselves are like flexible steel, and only get stornger the more wraps she manages to make on prey.

[Natural] - Given her size, webs come naturally to her, like any other spider. But, she is able to throw her webbing wires around, as they somehow contain hooks in them, tearing and grabbing skin or clothing.

{L}: No real limit on the webbing amount, but it does leech energy from her over time. {S/E}: After transforming back, the webbing dissolves into air, and reappears as a pearl in either Evelyne's hand, or jacket pocket. She can swallow the web pearl to regain a small portion to the energy she spent making the webbings.

[Venom]: Evelyne's poison by itself isn't caustic or anything, let alone is it easily defined as spider venom, or snake venom. Her's has some neurotoxin, but it also burns the bloodstream, and in a big enough dose; (Three bites from human, two from hybrid, and near-constant injection from spider), can start to clot the blood and cause anything from dead limbs to potential death - damage gauge based on humans only, however.

* In her normal form, and hybrid - her fangs are attached to her vampiric fangs, but instead of being in her jaw, they flip down from the top of her mouth, and are thinner than normal. Also, Evelyne's own venom sac is located differently in two of her forms -
  • Human: It is a bit small, and behind her jaw.
  • Hybrid: Same location, but just a bit bigger, in the same place.
  • Spider: massive and in the normal place for a spider, but larger.
{L}
  • Human: Only has the weak variation; only numbness, and mild burn around the bite spot. Venom doses: She only holds three.
  • Hybrid: Her venom is concentrated, but only due to how starved she is. Holds enough for two bites, due to the concentration, and not being a full spider.
  • Spider: Normal venom concentration, and normal effects. The spider can bite as much as it needs to.

{S/E}: Spider ONLY - The venom she uses takes at least two minutes to regen, unless it was for a small bite.

Web-wake: [Skill] Evelyne is able to understand spiders very well, from turning into one, and over the years learning from her pets. She know where to find them, and seems to be able to calm even the most aggressive species.

As for her pets, Eve is able to somewhat hear her pet's "voices", or more exactly, read thier body language more better. She even speaks to them like they were people most of the time, which is her most common interaction with them, besides her feeding, or playings.

* This only applies to wild spiders, or her pets.

Battle Strengths: The husk listed in weaknesses is what starts this strength. Evelyne cannot truly die, especially to fire. That burnt shell will eventually break back open, and she'll crawl out of it, as a tiny spider - similar to her spider form. The time it takes, is dependent on how much fire was used to burn her completely, up to two years maximum. It then takes the spider about a week of feeding off normal bugs, or even birds, to have her return to normal.

Evelyne is also resistant to most poisons, but anything drug-related is something she hasn't been around. She is also agile, and acrobatic, from years of practice. Very quick with her blades, and will take advantage of openings an opponent may have.

Battle Weaknesses: Fire: Evelyne is a pyromaniac, in a sense. She prefers to watch fire, rather than set it... a tad too much. This vampire can quickly forget about the known danger it poses and mostly tries to hold it. If surrounded by it, she is stunned by it, until the fire consumes her. Evelyne's spider and hunger forms are somewhat worse, as she will actively charge into burning areas, or not move when hit with fire attacks. If she ends up consumed in fire, the vampire will become a burnt husk of her human form, even if she was a spider or in her hunger phase.

Pets


Marble: A black and white speckled spider, that mainly sits on Evelyne's head. It's her additional lookout, and also helps determine if she can trust someone when she's being a merchant, or just everyday meetings, by tapping on her head. Marble resembles a wolf spider, but is two inches larger. Marble's eyes are a shineless black, common to the species, and has three eyes facing front. According to Evelyne, Marble's venom tastes like peaches.

  • Marble is a Birlench spider, one of the few social spiders from Evelyne's world. It's poison is a mild neurotoxin, that tends to go from a numbing effect, to paralysis of a limb - but the latter requires a large dose, up to a cup. The Birlench spider is kept in some hospitals as an assistant, but only limited to one or two per building. It's socialness extends to any spider species, communicating via tapping with its legs on leaves and the like.

Vernix: This pet is a pale forest green, with dark gray and wavy stripes. She sits on Eve's right wrist, and has a rather flat body. Vernix is more like a jumping spider than anything else, and likes when it is let out to hunt. This spider's eyes are a milky white, and almost almond shaped. Evelyne has tamed Vernix over four years, but she still needs to feed it by providing it with a venom she has an abundance of, or if she prefers a certain effect.

  • Vernix is a Clouded Vapria spider, noted for it's hostility, and speedy attacks. This species has no way to produce its own venom, so the spider tends to hunt other poisonous animals, including other spiders.

Tomb: The final pet is Evelyne's most recent pet that she has tamed, and the most deadly so far. Tomb appears to be blood red, with bone white legs. Her eyes are a stark yellow, six in total; One massive one in the front, two medium behind the head, and the other three seem lost on the left side, not used. She holds Eve's left wrist, its fangs always tapping against the skin. Tomb's venom tastes tart, and almost basil-like, to Evelyne.

  • Tomb is a Grave's End spider, rarely seen, and rumored to emerge from the recently deceased. It's venom spreads slowly, but weaves a rash of rotting flesh for some inches from the bite. This spider is chaotic, randomly biting more than once, so the victim can quickly become a new corpse. The state above however is hard to trigger though, and Tomb will mostly give a "love bite". Some have theorized that if a Grave's End spider comes into contact with blood, it enters its frenzy, but nothing has been proven.

Personality: Evelyne is naturally quiet, until she's approached, then her body language and personality shifts depending on the interactions.
If she finds out it's for business, as she is a poison seller, she can become quite blunt, and may lean towards sassiness if need be.

If it is business and the other identifies themself with the guild, she may seem cautious unless she actually remembers them in the guild, then she becomes kind and a bit of a chatterbox.

If she's not being asked about business or approached, she stays in crowds, or is up on a random roof/tree. Around others she can be either talkative, or stays back to observe, as she'd rather stay safe then put herself at risk. Concerning her guild, she'd gladly die to protect any member, no matter the rank.

During a contract, Eve turns serious and is quite tactical, not preferring to rush blindly at a target, but may keep her distance, especially when sending out Vernix to play with her mark.

Likes: [General]; Spiders, fire, poison – from colors, to even the taste of some, and webs or anything that matches a web. [Foods]; Sour fruits, various salads – most lean towards a Caesar or vinaigrette covered. Tends to stay towards water, as anything sugary speeds up her hunger.

Dislikes: [General] Frogs, thunder and sirens. [Foods]; Spicy and sweets, meats. Sweet drinks, and alcohol. Being cheated out of payment.

Fears: Fire the most, from pain and memory. Vampire slayers, wasps slightly.

Virtues: Honorable and loyal, especially to her guild-mates, and somewhat to her customers. Protective as well, will gladly enter her death state in order to save her small group of friends.

Vices: Stubborn, non-trusting to most, except guild-mates. Overly curious (fire only).

History:
Deceti 15, 935 - Day of Ms. Aranea's joining and History Account. Unfortunately, Ms. Evelyne cannot recall exacts for our other records. *Given permission by the other council to use her first name, out of formality.

Evelyne was born into a family of Feran vampires, most of them being the traditional, their names forgotten over the years. She faintly recalls being taught various things, mostly how to fight with small weapons, and studied much, as well as have a normal education - except for being taught by her massive family of Two uncles and aunts, and nine brothers and five sisters, some being turned humans. The girl especially loved to read about spiders, and read about poisons, slowly becoming a expert on spiders over the centuries. Being an energy vampire, she was allowed to leave the home, but chose to venture out to provide more supplies, or send some lost people to there, helping her family more.

Eventually, over the years a town began to prosper, but it's name has been forgotten to Eve. It was from there, on her 30th birthday, that a red and white robed man came upon her family's house. He was not lead there by the girl, but found his way from a small map. Intent on saving the town the man went about purifying the place in fire, which quickly engulfed the place, thanks to being drenched in holy water. When Evelyne returned, she knows she ran towards the burning wreckage, and was pushed into it by the man, as she turned around to see him as she fell. The fire consumed her quickly, reducing her body to a burnt husk as the man left.

The husk eventually broke open two years later, among the ashes and newly grown trees, as a blue and purple tarantula crawled out and scampered off. The spider was captured by Evelyne's guild father, Marquen, thinking she was a new species. Surprise came when the spider was replaced by the girl some weeks later, most of her clothing still attached was heavily burned. Thus, her founder, Marquen was ordered by the council to take her in as his own child.

There she was taught more fine-tuned lessons on proper dagger usage, parkour techniques, and an advanced poison lesson from our three other venom makers. Evelyne quickly excelled in the venom gatherings and distillations, so she was marked as a poison merchant of the guild, and only after made into a secondary assassin in the Silverlett ranks.

Seen and discussed most of this with you over IM x3 and just read it through now. I think you could use a bit more in personality, however, everything else looks great.
