Karash

NO LONGER IN USE!

Cryptagonist

Name: Karaṡ (Karash)

Age: 20

Apparent Age: about 26 or so to a human.

Gender: Male

Race: Ṡi'atalmi (Shihaitans)
Spoiler:
-Race Description: Shihaitans are the inhabitants of desert that almost stretches across the whole planet, the central region they live in is called Ġa'is. Shihaitans almost always have a tan or darker skin color, their eye color ranges from yellow to orange to dark red (all usually faded a bit), and the pupils are always gray. Their Hair colors seem to be limited to shades of red and a silver color for older folks. They also have pointy ears of varying lengths, but all with a little, almost invisible tuft at the tips to act as an anemometer. Every Shihaitan is given the ability to manipulate matter, but the old ways of using it for war were banished when they made the land the most peaceful its ever been. Instead they learned only to use their abilities for Agricultural needs. There is also an important development Shihaitans have that allows them to easily manipulate matter - they see matter itself, they look at the materials an object is made of and see the shape of said materials' formation. outsiders would later find out about their abilities and begin to take them as slaves.

Karash is specifically an Ancient Shihaitan, as such he has a slightly different outlook on the world than a modern day Shihaitan, Ancient Shihaitans were constantly at war with one another over what form of political stance they should have and how their abilities should actually be used. During the war though everyone broke their own rules...

more info on the Shihaitans here.

__________________________________________________ ___________________________________

General Description:

Height: Karash is about 6 feet and 2 inches tall, and he stands up very proudly so this number is rarely effected by any form of slouching or hunch-back.

Weight: 155-170lbs

Clothing: Karash wears a pure white cloth attire just like the modern-day Shihaitans, the difference on the cloth itself being the form of design. The detail of the clothing consist of lines interrupted with half circles which are filled in with a gorgeous red dye, this design is found at the bottom of his 'vest' and on the cloth 'belts'. Another similarity to the modern style is the ruby red petal shaped flares found at the cuffs of the sleeves and pants, as well as at the bottom of the vest.

The vest is relatively short, not covering the entire torso, it cuts off horizontally at about the rib line, and also has no sleeves connected to it, leaving a tank-top kind of look, though the shoulder area is at a point. The vest also has a large collar, one that doesn't hold close to the neck, but instead rises up above the mouth and leaves room for the head to fit in, this is a traditional design of Shihaitan clothing to prevent sand from the desert entering the mouth or nose as easily.

On-top of the vest is a large, golden, necklace/chest piece. This form of adornment is also common in the Shihaitan culture (even to the modern day), though they are no longer as large as the one Karash wears. It is shaped to match the head of an animal on their planet called a Paluṡ (Palush), it has horn like shapes at the top with a notch in-between, and then 3 protrusions at the bottom which are the top of the mouth, it also has 2 red spheres to represent the eyes.

This necklace/chest piece is fixated to his torso via leather straps on the torso half, and leather straps connected to golden 'weights' of sorts on the back side which loops over the head and around the neck.

Away from the vest are the sleeves, held on by leather straps around the upper arm. The sleeves themselves are lengthy enough to cover up the rest of the arm below the straps and even a little past the hands.

Between his vest and pants there is a noticeable lack of clothing, which reveals is abdomen, but a part of it is covered slightly by one of the 3 belts he has. The three belts don't necessarily hold the pants up as they are pretty fitting, but instead they can be customized to fit a variety of weapons, usually a few knifes are connected to one or more of them.

The pants are pretty plain in comparison to the rest of the wardrobe, they are simple white cloth as well, with little design to them other than the flares at the end, they are loose fitting and even a little baggy.

For foot-wear, Karash relies on a pair of very simple sandals with a strange flexible wood, it is almost like rubber found in human-shoes' soles.

Hair: Karash's hair is just like many other Shihaitans, it is a very bold red color, though a little darkened and often messy due to his neglect towards it.

The hair is shaped in a very traditional male Shihaitan fashion, with the addition of large bangs. He has the usual spiky (or messy) pony-tail, but the spikes curve towards the front of his head. His bangs are also noticeably spiky/messy.

Skin: Karash has a typical tan skin color, it could even be considered a slightly darker olive tone. You don't really see much skin though seeing as how the only spots include shoulders, abs, sometimes the face and his feet.

Eye Color: His eye color is a bright yellow and orange color, it is the most yellow towards the greyed pupil, and it becomes more and more orange as it reaches the end of the iris.
Spoiler:
-Eye Function: Shihaitans are blind in the sense that they do not see by light reflecting off surfaces, they see matter itself and its compositions. This form of vision can be beneficial and a drawback. Beneficially Karash is capable of seeing the matter that he must manipulate, he can spot faults in the formation of objects such as armor, and in some cases (depending on the density of objects) he can see through materials by focusing behind it while close up to the object itself, also because of his lack of dependence on light he can see in the dark. The Drawbacks are that he must also see gasses and other materials that are invisible to Human eyes, things like Oxygen can shroud his vision at times and in order to see passed them he must focus (just like with normal eyes but it sometimes takes a significantly longer time to complete). Another drawback is that alot of forms of energy which can only really be seen with the light aspect of them are invisible to Karash, things like lightning, lasers, in some cases fire (where it is magical and is not using a source to burn from, like wood) etc are completely unnoticed.

Other Sensory Descriptions:

Evocation: Karash can be very intimidating at times, he can almost always be seen with a scowl on his face. He also has a pretty bad temper so some people may feel not only uncomfortable around him but may completely avoid him all together, you can simply sense that he is not a very talkative person.

Smell: Karash comes from the desert that is drenched in warfare, he will likely smell like the crisp sands of a burning arid region, but with a hint of blood or ash. He doesn't necessarily have a very strong odor, but if you do get a whiff of him you can say it is 'distinctive'.

Sound: The 'hmphs' and grunts that Karash makes in place of even mono-syllabic phrases only add to his aura of non-caring, perhaps hatred, or generally being annoyed for no particular reason.

Weapons and Posessions:

Weapon: Karash will wield a varying amount of small blades on his belt(s) and also makes use of any other tools in his environment he finds useful, he is decently trained in sword-play but he prefers throwing weapons. He is not so skilled at shooting with a bow and arrow or similar ranged weapons but will use them if he must, his aim is usually dead-on, its just trying to work the darn thing that he hates.

He holds no actual personal weapons, if he finds a nice knife he wishes to keep he simply clips it onto his belt(s) and moves on, he usually won't continue holding large weapons for an extended period of time though. Anything like a sword, a war-hammer, axes or similar are all things he would have dropped long ago, especially things as heavy as war-hammers, he doesn't really find them efficient.

Possession: Though it is not necessarily a weapon itself, Karash will most often be seen holding a red spherical stone, similar to those found on his chest-plate. He likely took it as a token from his enemies, as many warriors of the time did.

Abilities and Techniques:

General Description: Ancient Shihaitans were known for perfecting certain aspects of the inborn abilities of their kind, they are almost considered god-like by the modern Shihaitans who have for the most part lost the knowledge of these ways.

The Shihaitans of ancient time not only could manipulate matter, but used it in such a way that morphed space itself, they had a frightening knowledge on the laws of the universe, and used it to their advantage in warfare against one another.

Abilities:

Unlike the modern Shihaitans, Ancient Shihaitans didn't actually use the ability to change state of matter, they were more experts on reactions and density. As such they lack a few skills of their modern counterparts, while gaining a few more battle useful ones in place:

Density: can manipulate the density of matter to both be less compressed or more.
Spoiler:
-Example: if you start off with sand and compress it (make it more dense) it will become more like a rock at some point, but it would look smaller than the larger amount of sand you had before

-Note: Ancient Shihaitans often used this to its most extremes, either attempting to break a material apart completely or condensing to allow an ability for which they gained their god-like status.

Re-Shaping: can manipulate the shape of an object or body of elements.
Spoiler:
-Note: This ability is used but not quite as extensively as the agricultural modern Shihaitans. Instead this ability is used to fix weapons or create them out of the ground or other materials. It is also sometimes used to create a shield from the ground.

Composition: can break apart, put together, or nit pick elements from one another.
Spoiler:
-Note: This ability is another that was mastered to the extent of each Shihaitan becoming a weapon on his own. Ancient Shihaitans used this ability with elements they carried on them or found to create devastating reactions between elements, they have been known to make the air itself go ablaze when wielding the proper elements.

Techniques:

It has been explained that Karash is decent in the ways of the warrior, he is athletic and slender, as well as flexible. Some techniques he used in fighting include mostly 'hit and dodge' tactics, like a scorpion he strikes, and then instantly becomes elusive until he can attack again. He rarely finds himself having to actually run far from melee in order to regain his composure.

Known techniques using his abilities include:

Explosions: this is clearly offensive in nature, he will try and use this ability whenever possible (though that isn't very often given the elements that are needed). He will try to combust either oxygen in the air with the help of a few elements or create a flammable gas of his own, and ready it to blow.

Morphing Space: This is one of the abilities lost to time and unknown to modern Shihaitans. The Ancient Shihaitans used their knowledge of the universe to help manipulate gravity/space on their own. They would gather matter (dependent on the severity of the distortion they want) and they would condense it until it began to push through space and almost form a black hole. They could actually do this without an object, and just just condense space itself, however they always used a point of origin (an object) to help navigate exactly where they want the distortion to occur.

The end result is a near-pierce in space that isn't quite infinite like a black-hole but is dense enough to cause gravity to pull into it and any unfortunate being or object who is just a little too close.

This ability is well controlled and is almost never pushed too far (though when it is, it can be devastating to the user along with the surrounding area and inhabitants.) Karash can release the density of the object (usually the red sphere he carries) and the distortion will disappear, for larger distortions a larger amount of mass is required.

Shield: this is a rather simple technique, Karash just re-shapes an object near him to block an incoming attack, the move is usually very quick and defends him from many intensive moves that his slender body wouldn't be able to handle.

Weapons: this is also simple and works in a similar way as the shield, it is the reshaping of an object (though typically a little bit further away) to create a spike, lance, spear or similar shaped objects out of the ground/other object in attempt to impale the enemy.

Limits:

Contact: His powers must be activated by direct contact usually.
Spoiler:
-Large/Long Objects: the exception to the contact rule is that he can use it in a ranged manner if the object he is using covers a large area. For example: if he touches the ground he can reshape various areas of it (to a limit of about 30 feet).

Ability Complex: The amount of energy using his abilities takes is based on what he is doing.
Spoiler:
-Example: re-shaping objects becomes increasingly difficult according to the density of it. If it is a rock or earth, it is pretty simple; if it is a block of metal, that will be a bit harder and cause more fatigue.

Environment: He is limited to what he can do based on the presence of materials or not.

Fatigue: When fatigued after much use of his abilities his reaction speed becomes much slower taking several seconds longer than usual to cause transformations, morphs, or any other changes. Manipulating itself (movement of the element) is affected but not nearly as dramatically.
Spoiler:
This fatigue comes about after using any one of his inborn abilities to manipulate matter too rapidly and/or successively. usually this limit varies on the situation and which moves he uses, he can't morph space quite as often as something simple like transforming the ground into a shield or a weapon. Explosions and other reactions actually don't take much since they are reacting on their own and the only effort put into them are moving elements into place.

To be more specific with a few common examples:

morphing the ground or surrounding objects is usually done easily at first but quickly becomes tiring, Karash can do this particular technique about 2-3 times in 5 minutes, slightly varying on the density and sometimes complexity of the material, but after about an hour it begins to diminish to about 1 within 5 minutes (and as even more time passes (several hours) the abilities' effectiveness begins to diminish until he can no longer do it for the rest of the day).

morphing space is far more complicated and fatiguing, Karash doesn't dare cause such a distortion more than twice a day. The first distortion may not cause much damage to him, the second will make him feel heavy and tired, but a third may very well cause him to collapse if note die. This may be another reason the ability was lost to time.

Surprisingly one of his slightly stronger abilities doesn't fatigue him all that much, but he requires the somewhat rare occasion of reacting elements. Since all he does in this case is move about the elements properly within a small area to cause a chain of reactions this move can typically be done rapidly: probably about once a minute, but the occasion is far from that easy to be found. The right elements must be present and set in the proper conditions for this to work. The ability also requires precision so it will often take 5-10 seconds to actually activate, and in the middle of battle that's not always convenient (for that reason this is more of a situational technique)

Souls: Karash is incapable of morphing or manipulating the matter of another person or being because the soul shields from said abilities. This was a law created by the guide-stars who gave the people and creatures of Mi'atal these powers.

Battle Strengths:

Athletic: Karash is very mobile and is capable of dodging for extended periods of time, he's never had a battle last long enough for him to actually become fatigued from physical movement alone, and he's been in a war.

Flexible: He is also very elusive due to his flexibility (in combination with speed), he can dodge in uncommon ways such as bending completely backwards, and even such things as practically slithering around an opponent: under legs over their head, escaping grapple moves, etc.

Eyes: Because of the way his eyes work he can potentially see flaws in the making of some objects or easily detect something in the dark because he looks at the matter itself rather than the image of something made by light reflecting off an object.

Battle Weaknesses:

Toughness: He is not very tough due to his slender form, he can take a few hits and usually cuts, but blunt blows from fists and heavy weaponry will do him in quickly if he is hit.

Miss-fire: When using his ability to cause chemical reactions and the like, they are often unpredictable and can do more damage to himself than be helpful. Sometimes creating the 'semi-black-holes' can also cause a problem for him if he's too close, it can tear his own flesh right off, or crush him all-together!

Fatigue: Karash may not be burdened very much by physical activities, but his abilities can be pretty intense on his body. If regulated he will be fine, but if he uses morphs an object to fast (especially if consecutively) he may find himself collapsing.

Eyes: Because of the way his eyes work (seeing matter itself) he also sees things such as oxygen and other clear glasses that would usually not bother other people, these sometimes get in the way - but just like normal eyes he "focuses" in and out of things which make them become invisible in a manner if he focuses properly. It is usually quick movements coming towards him or away that can throw him off, if he locks onto them his focusing 'traces' them more efficiently, but if he can't keep on an object it will become difficult.

__________________________________________________ ___________________________________

Personality:

Karash isn't necessarily a bad person, he is simply a bitter person, he can preform kind deeds for simple sake of doing it, but he is most often found complaining about his situation and being pessimistic about everything. Being from a seemingly never ending war has made him think that everything is a battle situation, he takes simple jokes about fights as threats and he is quick-tempered.

He doesn't enjoy fights exactly, but his pride just won't allow him to back out of one. He is not one to be arrogant though, if he has lost he will admit it, no point in denying the obvious. He is pretty intelligent in the ways of the universe (as many Ancient Shihaitans are) but seems to be completely ignorant to social affairs.

He doesn't try to create problems but when one arises he finishes it quickly... even if it wasn't his problem. He wants all the stupid fights to end as quickly as possible (including the war on his home-world).

History:

In the days already long passed on planet Mi'atal there was a war, a war between political stances and moral stances, each side of-course thinking differently. Three separate sides in all, each with a mass of men ready to defend but only two of them were actively attacking. One of the offensive parties believed that there should be people in control, and the people at the top would deem which abilities where to be allowed.

The statement on either side as to how their abilities were to be used was a strong one, some believed they were manipulating nature far to much, and they wanted to preserve it, the others felt that their abilities where their own and they should be able to do with it how they please.

The party which was more liberal about their abilities also felt that they should be more free politically, where everyone was equal but not restrained to the same thing, this was possible to the Shihaitans but not always reached for... some people simply wanted more than others.

What of the third party though? The third group was far more passive, they never wanted to attack, only to defend themselves, and each warrior was prepared to die in the name of preserving their people. This group felt the same towards equality for everyone, yet believed that someone should be a guide of sorts, they suggested an oligarchy of sorts in combination with democratic ideals, a far fetched one indeed, or atleast to the people of this time...

While two masses of Shihaitans collided with each other in battle, the supposedly neutral group found peace in keeping to themselves, most of them had a problem with the war, but their mastered self-control kept them in check. There was one a small group in this colony, however, that just didn't want to sit back, they wanted their ideals to be known, instead of hiding in the shadows, waiting for the inevitable 'winner' of the current battle to come and face them as well.

That is where Karash comes in, Karash was a rookie to war, but was bold and felt that his people were being far too quiet about the situation. He joined the rebel group in hopes of either stopping the war all-together, or atleast defeating everyone else and making their ways dominant.

Several years of blood-shed pass before his eyes before he begins to realize that war was obviously not what he once believed it to be, he began to see just how stupid it was, and he wished go back home, but now was too late.

The rebels had grown exponentially in number and where headed to the center of a battle which could easily be deemed hell on earth. The very air would singe a warriors lungs, malformations in space tore people to shreds, blood splattered as blades flew, and death came quickly to gain his reward.

Something beyond strange would occur that day though... something that to this day Karash doesn't completely understand, it is a concept that not even Shihaitans pondered about at the time. Karash was in the midst of battle, the rebels on the verge of defeat, when something in his mind told him to stop the madness... he seemed to be controlled by a force unknown, yet so very familiar, the voice in his head... but not his own.

He, and he alone, guided by the thoughts of another, charged to the center of the blood-covered terrain to try and halt all three sides. No one could recognize him, no one could identify his placement among any of their ranks, it was as if he was a completely different person at the time.

Each side, including his own collided onto his position where he took several lethal blows, he should have already died... but then a strange feeling came about him, and the voice continued to speak.

"you have realized what so many in this war should have long ago..." it said, it almost seemed to be reassuring that all those outside of the war already claimed this realization.

"you are the only other I will allow..." it spoke slowly with a voice from another world, the voice trailed from his mind and the battlefield collapsed into itself as a hole bore through space... and time. Only they could do this Karash thought as he fell through time, safely in the center of the paradox as others around him were torn and distorted by the swirling space.

The last of the Daṫu, the guiding stars, had saved him. Netchur

He would be glad to know that his people where the surviving members, the neutral party won the war without raising a finger, they are the modern Shihaitans.

Fun Facts:

Language: Karash doesn't speak english or any other language that might be common in RP here. He speaks only the Shihaitan language (yet to be determined unfortunately). The only way he can really communicate to others is through gestures and body language, or someone else being a mind reader or something of the sort.

Transportation: Karash will appear into most stories via time paradox, he appears in random places at random points in the time-line. This is also how he will usually exit, however in some cases he may take longer to disappear into the paradox again, and thus may appear several times in an RP based on the same planet or location etc. Karash believes that the strange tossing between times is the divine will of the guide-star who began it all.

Sleep/Restoration: The Ancient Shihaitans hadn't yet developed the neuro-anisthetic that allows modern Shihaitans to sleep easily, for this reason he usually stays awake until he passes out or gladly welcomes being knocked out by a trusted companion (almost no one...). It is because of this sleep deprivation that he may be grumpier than he should be, perhaps he'd be like that regardless, but you can be sure that he is not a morning person.

The Red Sphere: The red sphere that Karash carries is the same type of stone that appears on his own chest plate, the difference is the densities. Karash gained the stone at first by slaying one of his enemies, he took it as a prize of sorts, and his first battle won. He soon became obsessed with this little ritual of his and continued to take one of these red-stones from every person he slayed, the reason the one he holds is so dense is because he has compacted every red-stone he has gathered into one, relatively heavy, ball.

He had stopped this gathering of possessions after he began to realize the chaos of war and how much he no longer cared for it. He continues to hold the gem, though, a reminder of his past (both of glory and regrets at the same time). This is a weapon as well, this is what he uses almost every time he requires a point of origin to focus on to create a 'semi-black-hole'. The density of the object already being compressed into a very small area makes it a bit easier to create the phenomenon.

Age: Shihaitans grow slightly faster than humans do, and they also generally don't live as long. As such, a Shihaitan would look like an adult at about 15 or so.

Re: Karash

Two things.

First: I want to make it clear that his abilities cannot be approved if they in any form are able to rearange the matter of another character, That would push him to god-like levels that cannot be approved.

Second: please set an upper limit to how much he can manipulate matter in the course of a short fight.

oh yeah I forgot to add the bit about how Shihaitan abilities don't actually work on people themselves due to the soul, I post that.

also: upper limit? you mean as in a more limiting-limite (if that makes sense) I assume? I'll try editing what I think counts but I suppose we'll find out if I understood or not >.>

---------- Post added at 05:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:06 AM ----------

okay, I've edited it now. I've set what I think the 'upper limit' is on the ability underneath fatigue (technically not further limiting it but definite how limited he already was, it probably seemed a bit unclear and may have sounded like he could do things at a crazy speed with no consequence).

And I've added the new limit referring to the fact how he can't manipulate the matter of another person (it's called Soul)

Re: Karash

Sorry I meant define more then create an upper limit, but you got the idea

Okay that looks good. My only worry was condensing an enemy into a subatomic particle, which would be a bit powerful
