Wayro

NO LONGER IN USE

Cryptagonist

Name: Oġero (Wayro) (pronounced: whay-rO)

Age: 13

Apparent Age: about 20

Gender: Male

Race: Kueshan
Spoiler:
-Race Description: Kueshans are the descendants of Shihaitans, a race taken as slaves 100 years before the age of a hero of theirs: Aida Shihai as he was called, the last of the free Shihaitans and a Daṫuko at that. The Kueshans are a breed created by Shihaitans and the few other slaves of the planet their ancestors arrived on. This new race was quickly created, and by purpose of their slave owners to create a new people, the perfect labor.

Common features of the new Kueshan race are cold colored eyes ranging through different types of greens and blues etc. They are also, on average, more built than their predecessors due to their so called profession. The other common feature is their pale skin, contrasting the Shihaitans, this has become practically genetic and stays that way because they never come out from underground where they mine.

The Kueshans still retain an ability to manipulate matter, which is why they were taken long ago to begin with, however they've forgot how to manipulate anything other than solids long ago, and this is exploited while they mine.

__________________________________________________ ___________________________________

General Description:

Height: Wayro is about 6 feet tall when standing straight but he always slouches, mostly in the neck bringing him down to about 5'8"-5'10"

Weight: 160-180lbs

Clothing: Wayro wears the same clothing as all the other Kueshans, it is a standard clothing given to them. Wayro is one of the few who stray from regulation though, and decides to 'customize' his somewhat. He wears a long-sleeve shirt of simple cloth that is cut diagonally across the chest to reveal the right arm. The shirt is held onto his shoulders by a wrapping through the left shoulder and a collar.

A pear of pant-shorts are also worn, they are a type of pants that are made for this colony's slaves to wear year-round, they are jean like shorts with an embedded belt like top which holds a pair of cloth loops that can be put on in the winter to turn the shorts to technical pants, Wayro of course has made these more fitting by tying the bottoms the pants to be tighter, and then slightly lifted them for more foot room as they would otherwise be a bit baggy.

He wears no shoes as he feels it prevents him from understanding his environment properly, though it should be known that it's dangerous...and rocky, but he doesn't care. He also wears a metal wrist band/device that used to monitor him until he ripped out the working end of it, leaving the clamped on wristlet carcass.

Hair: Wayro's hair is charcoal black and in-between spiky and just plain messy, it is a bit longer in the front creating an upward curve of spiked hair and a messy backside, he would have small hanging bangs visible as well if he didn't wear a bandanna all the time.

Skin: Just like the other Kueshans, Wayro maintains a pale complexion though slightly darker since he escaped slavery.

Eye Color: Wayro is a bit out of the average group of Kueshans because of his purple eyes, an uncommon trait (though not unseen) among them which has an old myth about it. Kueshans believe that those of their kind who have purple eyes, rather than the usual blues and greens, are closer to the mother race than the rest as their blue eye color is supposedly mixed with the common red eye color of their ancestors.
Spoiler:
-Eye Function: As all Kueshans, Wayro sees matter itself rather than relying on the reflection of light off of objects to visualize the world, a gift of the Shihaitan race passed down to them. It has diminished with the breeding though, they can no longer see gasses as the Shihaitans could, and instead only see liquid and solids, where even liquids are hard to visualize from far away if not focused. Kueshans see solids very clear though, even more so than the Shihaitans perhaps, and they can focus passed solid matter when needed (this technique is used to find ore within rocks while mining for the Kueshan slaves).

A main perk to this sight though is being able to see in the dark because the sight doesn't rely on light. Just like their ancestors though, this sight has the same flaws of taking a while to focus, things that are energy are unseen (such as fires and lightning etc.), and a ritual must be preformed in order to sleep.

Other Sensory Descriptions:

Evocation: If you were to just look at Wayro the first thing you might think would be "this guy must be a lazy bum" he slouches, he doesn't look like he cares at all most of the time and he still dresses like he's from the gutter. When in action however you can't help but regret your previous thoughts as he shows off his battle prowess and athletic abilities.

Smell: Wayro will smell like his old profession all the time as he still manipulates the same thing to this day, though for different needs. He will reek of different dirts and possibly even smell of a pungent moist cave.

Battle Tools and Techniques:

Weapon: Wayros weapon of choice is a strangely shaped sword that he's named Mi'atal after the planet his ancestors came from. The blade is somewhat zigzagged after the bottom end, it's straight through the center but has protrusions on the side which change from one side to the other as it reaches the top.
Spoiler:
-Makeup of Mi'atal: Mi'atal is made of whatever elements Wayro absorbs to it, so the stronger the material the stronger the blade is, however there is a constant within the blade. There is a thin core of diamond within the blade that acts somewhat like a point of origin for the materials to stem off of and form the weapon.

Racial Ability: Wayro can manipulate solid matter, but most often does so to earth and rocks or stone, and rarely any other metals than his own weapon. To use this ability he must directly touch the object, body, or material.

Combination Technique: Wayro uses the combination of his weapon and ability to shape shift the blade into other weapons ranging from hammers, maces, to even guns if given the materials to form it properly and create its projectiles. He will most often do simple transformations on the blade though, which work much quicker, this includes extending it or widening it and every now and then splitting it.

Athletic Ability: Wayro is extremely athletic and even acrobatic. He is capable of running a good 30mph, can jump about 10 feet high and about 40 feet long at his best, he punches strong enough to split a jaw in half... and that's all he ever thought was important, but often uses his sword anyway. He is also acrobatic in the sense that he used to easily free run through some caves he mined in, slipping through stalagmites, and climbing and hanging from their cousins, the stalactites, he also had fun back-flipping off the walls as a show-off gig.

Swordsmanship: Wayro is quite uncontrolled when it comes to actual sword-play, he can expertly move around the field but his swings in combat are far from masterful. Despite this, simply because of his tendency to drift off into 'the zone' in the heat of battle he is actually pretty good at blocking and countering, but an actual swordsman would be capable of seeing through the novice moves easily, so long as they can get passed the speed, power, and randomness of this hyper-active beginner.

Limits

Weapon: the weapon becomes brittle easily after so much transformations and must be repaired with more elements Wayro finds, as well as sharpened like any sword, though made more often when Wayro transforms it into something blunt and back again. Besides the endurance of transformations the strength of the blade itself is based off of what elements are absorbed - which is often simple iron which is the easiest 'tough' metal Wayro will use for it.

Racial Ability: Wayro has no problem at all manipulating rocks or stone and definitely not dirt, however Metals are more of an obstacle.
Spoiler:
- With Metals: morphing bodies of metals in general (excluding the sword) can usually only be done around 10-20 times for anything more complex than protrusions coming out of the metal (like spikes or a pillar) and even the simple shapes can only be on a small section that is, for the most part, within direct contact.

There is also A time-frame associated with this number that can determine whether he easily pulls the transformation off or increasingly becomes exhausted, if he morphs metal in a quick succession of 4 times in 10 seconds it weighs on both his mind and body, he can start having migraines to the severity of passing out or his muscles can completely seize up or he'll simply fall unconscious. The side-effect seems to be associated with what transformation is done and how far beyond the number he goes, he may be capable of going a little over the limit but it will tire him.

-With Mi'atal: in particular forming his blade to different shapes is limited to about once or twice a day if the new form is dramatically different from a sword (becoming a different weapon all together such as a hammer, gun etc.) this does not include the shape changing back to default as the dramatic change tends to wear off in a few hours. If the shape is only extended/widened though transformations can occur more around 38 sometimes a little more given the extent to which he extends/widens the blade.

Another different time-frame is set on Mi'atal itself, applying for each transformation of to a new form and back to the default. When transforming into a new weapon all-together he can only change it once in about 4 hours without succumbing to the same effects of morphing metals too much. When only extending or widening the blade he can change it about 6-8 times in 10 seconds, varying slightly based on how long or wide he makes it.

-All together: If Wayro stresses himself too much in one area of transformation and begins to fatigue and fail at transformations there, he will then become hindered in morphing to all other aspects included, not just metals but even rock and dirt as well. He can sometimes go on with swords fighting alone for a while (although tired) if he has not pushed himself too far beyond the time-frame or numbers.

Athletic Ability: Wayro is full of energy but just like anyone else succumbs to fatigue once he's reached his limit. Wayro often pushes himself alot and will use too much of his seemingly endless energy while fighting, over the course of battle he will likely try not show it, but sooner or later he will simply collapse. It will usually take a few hours of constant fighting to wear him out, but for simple 'fun' things he does all the time like running and jumping he could do for a good majority of the day.

Swordsmanship: As stated before his moves are simple and random, depending on the opponent they can either be thrown off by the bombardment of unpredictable attacks, or see passed the simplicity and easily block and counter. Wayro can also usually be barbaric against opponents much larger than himself as well, when using this more brutal style he is much more predictable.

__________________________________________________ ___________________________________

Battle Strengths:

-Enduring: with stands as much damage as possible before he absolutely no longer fight.

-Physically strong: as mentioned in Athletic Abiliy

-Unpredictable: with his childish personality and strange combination of ability and weapon, it's hard to tell just what Wayro is going to do next.

Battle Weaknesses:

-Foolish: he's not much of a thinker, he just likes to jump in on the action.

-He's often late to react to something if at first he doesn't find it cool or interesting.

-Easily frustrated: if something doesn't go his way he will often throw temper tantrum... but a little more extreme in that it often includes death. this however makes him much easier to predict and easier to attack because he doesn't care to defend at this point.

__________________________________________________ ___________________________________

Personality:

Wayro is a carefree kind of person, he'll often be lounging around where he feels most comfortable, like under a tree or the entrance of a cave, even when not laying about he's almost boring to look at since he'll be slouching and walking very calmly, left hand in pocket almost at all times. All he cares about is what looks cool to him, it's what he thrives for, he thinks bandannas are cool so he got one as soon as he escaped his slave planet, he thought his old shirt was lame so he 'modified' it etc. Whenever something is interesting or cool though, Wayro will jump into action becoming a hyperactive teenager. Besides these very simple traits he can be pretty deep without realizing it, his actions clearly show his beliefs, though to some people it can be seen negatively. He believes that nothing is truly good or evil, he realizes all to well that those are opinionated words.

Vices:

Wayro can be foolishly stubborn alot of the time, when he's lounging he doesn't like to be bothered about anything, he simply wants to continue what he's doing. Whenever he's interested in something 'cool' he will be hard to persuade to come away from it, such as in what he considers a fun battle, detaching him from said battle may end with plenty of whining and people getting hurt. Along with those he is simply obnoxious at times, whether in his lazy, carefree state or his energetic, interested one. Because he doesn't see anything as good or bad he'll often try making friends with what is suppose to be his enemies, especially after a good fight, or he'll say the deaths of people must have been cool to see, something that most people don't take to kindly to.

History:

One-hundred years after the last chosen Daṫuko, the Shihaitans of old are to be found no more, after being taken from their home, Mi'atal, as slaves they had been bred with the few other slave peoples, quickly becoming a new race: the Kueshans. The new race of Kueshans maintained the abilities of what they called 'the mother race' from which most of their traits where derived, however many differences where evident, things such as pale skin, contrasting cold colored eyes and usually black or dark blue hair. These poor people where forced to use the abilities of their ancestors for the sake of the owners, who profited from the ore the Kueshans mine day after day.

Conditions were poor, houses were made out of the insides of caves and mining sites themselves and sunlight was a rare sight to be seen, only displaying itself from cracks in the 'ceiling'. There never was harsh weather but the heat that built up over the day, or the harsh colds that developed over night weren't exactly ideal. Clothing was made of cloth and only the shorts of jeans, and a simple pair of sandals which often fell apart and had to be repaired constantly, after all the slave drivers weren't going to fix them. No one was allowed to change their clothing given to them in order for the guards to be sure that everyone below ground was indeed Kueshan, anyone found trying to make their clothing unique was flogged.

Within this harsh environment where many children whom suffered just as much as the adults, no mercy was given, one child in particular was quite rebellious though. A young teenager named Wayro, from the time he was 6, when his parents died, he's always been a fighter. He was beat-up, flogged, and even shot or stabbed atleast two times a day, he had grown a sense of no longer caring about the punishments and had fun when he could, he usually didn't want to help everyone and just lazed around all day until the guards persuaded him to work by threatening the other Kueshans for his 'wrong doings'.

After a few other younger Kueshans grew just as rebellious, seeing how relatively more satisfied Wayro was compared to themselves before. At a point the posse had built itself to be a good 15 or so members within the same subsection, they called themselves the "B-4 Squad" the letter and numeral coming from their division of the cave of course. When they found no need to work for the day they would run across the rounded, half-pipe like walls of the cave, jump from platform to platform hovering over a vast abyss, climb and hang from stalactites and preform tricks on the grounded versions, stalagmites.

All was pretty good, atleast as good as it could get for a slave here, they hardly worked, they had fun when possible, they relaxed when they felt it was right, and almost no one complained, the guards had even grown tired of flogging the decently sized group of rebels. However something in the process changed over time, a new commander, different buyers for the slaves, the Kueshans weren't as valuable anymore... whatever the case was, it surely created proper reason for fear among these people.

The guards were told to execute a member of B-4 every month, "just to see how they react" as it was quoted to Wayro, he dismissed it at first as he usually would, he had no reason to believe or fear the people who hold him captive, but the very next day his first joining member, and best friend, was killed infront of him. Rage was created but withheld, the same activities that B-4 usually did where attempted once more, and yet another member was killed...

Wayro couldn't believe that this was all actually happening, and in time fell in line with the rest of the Kueshans along with all the other members of his carefree club. Wayro mined all day, something against his usual agenda, and still the military men from hell took more lives, three this time, and out of fear most of the other members left. His happiness was simply being broken, but that sure wasn't going to make him give up now, if anything this was his big moment to escape this pit, it motivated him even further.

"we need to escape!" he said to the only two members left of B-4, the toughest of the bunch, and the only other two in the section that had purple eyes as he did, a sign of the great Shihaitans within them, the irony was all too glorious. The beginning of their adventure was about to begin.

Plans were discussed and hidden from view, memorized and as secret as possible. Some aspects of the plot where practiced within the caves at night, and they all became anxious and restless for the day to come that they would make their grand escape to the world above them.

"today's they day" every remaining member claimed as they readied there-selves, each grabbing the weapons they created over the course of the past two weeks, one a hammer, the other a ball and chain, and for Wayro himself, a blade. Each of the weapons were named Mi'atal after the home-planet of the Shihaitans, the three boys felt it was a good luck charm. Off they went to their positions and waited for the transition of guards while tying bandannas they had made before-hand... it was cool.

"go!" the command was subtly thrown from one member to the other, and the purple glowing irises traveled through the dark to the entrance of the cave, the other two members stayed to the side of the door while Wayro hung above the entrance. "they're coming" one signaled to Wayro who replied with an "ok" formed by the hand. The guard was indeed coming, the shifts had finally been changed and the fillers where on their way, each of the reptilian faced beings walked through the door, the first two not noticing the boys in the dark, the final one however spotting them from the corner of his eyes... he was quickly disposed of by Wayro who jumped from his position quietly stabbing him through the neck while the other two guards continued walking into the shadowed cave.

The gang of three escaped the cave but that was far from the end of it all, next on the list where the watchmen, the gates, the space-port and its securities and finally escaping the planet... it was going to be a long night.

(Story is susceptible to change and/or update)

__________________________________________________ ___________________________________

Fun Facts:

Bandanna: after his adventure off of the slave planet Wayro always wears a bandanna because the "coolness" of it never went away for him like it did for the other members.

Members: Wayro and the other two members traveled through space on a stolen cruiser space-ship, meant for the slave planet's owner, after figuring out how it worked they each flew to different planets to start their lives over, Wayro was the last.

Transportation: for a large portion of Wayros story he has had and will have the cruiser ship he stole and kept, until he finds a more efficient and more accommodating one.

-UPDATE: the new ship he stole was a large complex escape pod he stole from a military recon ship, he will use this as an entry for silent and subtle entry into some RPs, he later crashes this ship on a different planet where he is stranded for a while (in a social group RP).

Age: Shihaitans grow slightly faster than humans do, and they also generally don't live as long. As such, a Shihaitan would look like an adult at about 15 or so.

Re: Wayro

Hey there. I'll be your approver person. You get my stampy of approval once your profile here is up to snuff. Just a few things I want to talk about here:
Quote:
Limits

Weapon: the weapon becomes brittle easily after so much transformations and must be repaired with more elements Wayro finds, as well as sharpened like any sword, though made more often when Wayro transforms it into something blunt and back again.

Racial Ability: Wayro has no problem at all manipulating rocks or stone and definitely not dirt, however Metals are a bit more of an obstacle, though not overbearing with one go, with how much Wayro transforms his blade and how dramatically it becomes tiresome.

Athletic Ability: Wayro is full of energy but just like anyone else succumbs to fatigue once he's reached his limit. Wayro often pushes himself alot and will often use too much of his seemingly endless energy while fighting, over the course of battle he will likely try not show it, but sooner or later he will simply collapse.
Here in the BA, we look for limits and weaknesses particularly because it's important to make sure no one abuses the powers of their character to godmode, which is to say, dominate in combat against other characters unfairly. Details are important. You have a lots of those, but not exactly the right ones.

Your limits here are good, but they're a little too vague. Like for the weapon, I think if you gave me a certain number of times Wayro can alter his weapon until he must repair it, I would say that's perfect.

And as for the racial ability, the underlined part is too vague. Again, I need to know more than just a vague idea that there's a limit. Keep this in mind when you are deciding on the number of times Wayro can alter his blade, as these two things are related.

It's the same deal with his athletic ability. All you really manage to tell me is that he can get tired and that he tries not to show it, but not exactly where his limit it. You need to paint a better picture of more exactly how much running around and flipping and jumping he can do before he's fatigued. Also consider how fatigue will affect his other abilities.

On a side note, you mention his athletic feats but nothing of his skill with his blade. It might be something you should think about. Because you are likely to come upon characters who are more focused on weapon skill and fighting skill than the powers and abilities.

Re: Wayro

hello and thanks for the advice, I believe I have updated them sufficiently (the bit on how much times the weapon can change is in a subsection below racial abilities) And I have also added a part on his ability with the sword thanks to your suggestion ^_^

I'm not quite sure if the Athletic ability is up to snuff though since I'm not quite sure how to put a number factor on fatigue, but I ended up going with time-frames.

That's good ^^ I only have one more thing that I thought of.
Quote:

What exactly is Wayro's range with this ability? Does he have to be touching the material that he's changing? Or just generally near it? Include this info here.

Re: Wayro

oh well what I meant by direct range was that he had to touch it by I can definitely reword it ^^

EDIT: ok I've changed it to be a little more understandable, and also added it in the first mention of Racial Ability above that.

Re: Wayro

That's better. Though I was thinking more on your limits.

20 and 50 are actually rather high numbers. I hardly doubt he would use it more than 4 or 8 in a practical battle. So it's kind of a limit that's not really a limit. Take these numbers down to at least 10 and 20.
Quote:
-Makeup of Gaila: Gaila is made of whatever elements Wayro absorbs to it, so the stronger the material the stronger the blade is, however there is a constant within the blade. There is a then core of diamond within the blade that acts somewhat like a point of origin for the materials to stem off of and form the weapon.
So does this mean that the steel of his blade is stronger than average steel? If so, how much stronger?

Re: Wayro

well the numbers are that high because he actually does use those abilties quite often, he'll extend or widen his sword alot because he almost immediately turns it back to its original state to maintain the structure, that being the case he'll use it very often (especially since he uses extending the sword to do pole-vault maneuvers and other tricks, same with the widened version)

And I didn't find 20 that high of a number either to be honest seeing as how with his background all he did as a slave was mine iron ore, its literally what he's bred to do, just more tiring than manipulating the actual rock.

I'm just kinda of reluctant to change either of the numbers so low as to 10 or 20... perhaps with morphing metals I can settle for 10 but the 20, eh kinda sketchy on that one since he'll do extensions of the swords quite often before snapping it back and likely doing it again, he's very liberal with that function.

As for the Diamon Core bit, that was just to let people know that even if the materials absorbed by the sword are broken or become unusable the core of the blade is still maintained usually because it is made of such a strong substance, he wouldn't likely use the core as a weapon of itself though.

This is really the only part I agree with. I still don't think he'll use it as many times as you say, but it does make sense with his backstory.

The only problem is that if I let you keep it this way, it's a limit that's not really a limit. So if you want to keep it, you'll have to come up with a better limit for me. Like how about he can it that many times a day, but if it is done in quick succession, he tries more quickly? You'd also then to have to come up with what quick succession is.

Like maybe changing something like the spikes and pillars 5 times in 10 seconds would make it count as 10 times. So each times he uses it at least 5 times within the same 10 seconds, it'll count as double. So if he uses it 15 times in 10 seconds, it'll count as 30 and he'll be exhausted out probably to the point of fainting because his normal limit was 20.

And for things like changing his blade, say if he changes it at least 10 times in the same 10 seconds, it'll count, again as double, 20 times.

Also, if he exhausts himself in one area, he should remain too exhausted to perform in another. So if he exhausts himself with things like spikes and pillars, he won't be able to change his blade the way he wants or run around and jump like he used to. Exhaustion should affect him on all levels.

How does that sound? It's just a suggestion. If you come up with something you like better, feel free to let me know.

Re: Wayro

I actually like that suggestion, it makes sense and its pretty reasonable, but I think I'll be a bit more generous on how limited is because even though he'll use the moves often I don't think he'll ever do it so fast to be 10 in 10 secs .

I think I'll make it more along the lines 5 times in 10 secs for that particular one, as well as lower for the others because even though he uses them alot he won't usually need to do them in constant order. That all depends on how you count the number though, one for the transformation alone or if that includes the transformation back, because then I would think you numbers are perfect lol.

I'll ponder through some numbers and time frames for a while that are close to the ones you've given (likely to be a little lower) but I like the idea.

Re: Wayro

I'd say it's count for any transformation at all. Changing it, equals ones, and then changing it back also counts as one.

But yeah, let me know when you decide on your numbers and stuff.

Re: Wayro

Good, good ^^ I'm satisfied, so ...

Oh, wait, there's one more thing that I almost forgot. And it's mostly just a question.
Quote:

So can he see colors? Color is something that is kind of entirely based off of light. You say it doesn't rely on light, but does that mean they can still see it even though they can't see things like gases?

Re: Wayro

well he does see "color" but not the colors that are created by reflected light, he sees "colors" more as a visual way to determine one element from another (and that version of seeing through his eyes is really just a way for people to more easily understand the vision, technically he sees no colors at all, his brain can simply determine the structure of materials almost instinctively)

At the end of it all there is no reliance on light at all, and thus he doesn't actually see colors as they actually are (if at all depending on if I'm using the representative style for description)

I hope that answered your question but I feel like I'm not fulling understanding it

oh yeah and if you were wondering about the not being able to see gasses part that's simply because the original vision of his ancestors, the Shihaitans, has degraded with mixed breeding and generations. The Shihaitan could see gasses and actually had to focus passed them in order to see anything else, (I always explain how they see passed oxygen by saying to imagine it like a complex 3d MRI screen or something similar, when they focus it goes passed layers of oxygen until other shapes come into view, except it's more complex than that because they view several of those kinds of layers at the same time)

I like to put in fun facts as you can see lol
