Appearance: Airen wears a dark red jacket with black letters in an unknown language on the back, over a short sleeve red shirt, along with a pair of durable black pants, and slightly worn black boots.

Family: Airen's only living relative is his older brother Etran, who's location is currently unknown. His Mother died from illness when he was young, and his father died from a similar disease a few years later. Etran who was eighteen at the time of their fathers death, voluntarily took custody of his younger brother, getting a job as a guard in order to support them both. Etran disappeared on Airen's sixteenth birthday, and hasn't been seen since. (For explanation see Biography)

Weapons: Airen knows how to use a multitude of weapons, including his body.

Body: The first thing Etran taught Airen about battle was how to fight without a weapon, and Airen's movements have become more acrobatic and graceful because of this training. Whenever he fights like this he never wastes a movement, each attack leading into another.

Daggers/Knives: Airen keeps a knife on his person for self defense reasons at all times. Knives combined with his ability to effectively use his body to fight makes him a lethal fighter at close range, as the size of knives make it easier to slip the blade in between gaps in the armor and hit something vital.

Tentogiri: Tentogiri is the name of Airen's Two Handed Sword. The sword is made of an unknown silver metal, but after decades of use by the Carunias family it has been determined that the sword is impossible to break. Airen tends to use the sword only against more aggressive opponents, as he finds it's easier to defend against attacks with a sword than it would be to defend with a knife.

Weaknesses: The only armor Airen wears is a light set of chain-mail underneath his clothes, so he can't take too many hits. Instead he's dependent on his speed to help avoid attacks. If he actually gets hit with a physical attack, he'll take a lot more damage than someone wearing a more protective form of armor.

Strengths: Airen's advantage in battle lies in his speed and versatility, he finds it easy to counter the attacks of slower, close range fighters, (Example: Axe wielders) and he can keep up with the faster strikes of swordsmen. He has high stamina, due to the many times he's been forced to evade guards; and he has a quick mind, allowing him to figure out solutions to problems relatively quickly.

Shadow Dweller: Due to his experience with having to evade guards, Airen is able to hide himself in the shadows and avoid making any unnecessary noise.

Personality: Airen is a normally calm, friendly person, who tends to listen to the opinions of others before stating his own. He's the kind of person who believes that your social status doesn't make you better than anyone else, and because of this he's not afraid of letting people know exactly what he thinks of them, regardless of who they are. He dislikes people who judge others based solely upon their race, and will often jump into an argument to defend someone who is getting treated unfairly by those around them.

Biography: Airen Carunias was born the son of an Orithian soldier. His father was one of a set group of guards who accompanied the king on diplomatic missions, and since Airen's mother was dead, Airen and his older brother Etran were allowed to live in the castle with their father. There weren't many other children in the castle that weren't royalty, so Airen spent most of his free time down in the castle town playing games with the children that lived down there. On his eleventh birthday however his father died from the same illness that had taken his mother's life so long ago. Luckily Etran had just turned eighteen and kept his brother from going to an orphanage by becoming Airen's guardian.

As Airen grew older, he began to become more interested in weapons and fighting in general, and began to pester Etran(who had taken their fathers job as a royal guard) to teach him how to fight. Etran refused to teach him at first, but eventually came to realize that it couldn't hurt to teach Airen how to defend himself. These lessons in combat continued until Airen's sixteenth birthday, when Etran gave Airen the family blade Tentogiri before going to the castle as was the normal daily routine.

Etran never came back.

When Airen journeyed to the castle a few days later to ask about his brother, he was told that Etran had fled the city after attempting to assassinate the current king of Orthia. Now Airen was almost positive that the guards were lying, he knew how well his brother fought and was positive that if Etran had wanted to kill the king than it wouldn't have been an assassination “attempt” it would have happened.

Feeling irritated Airen left the castle and started the long walk back to his house, already planning on packing his things as soon as he got home and leaving the city to find his brother. He was so lost in his thought that he didn't notice that a single guard had been following closely behind him ever since he had left the castle.

As soon as he turned to go through an alleyway that led to his house however, he heard the clanking of armor and turned in time to see the guards charging at him, swords clutched in their hands. With a shout of fury the guard swung his blade at Airen, causing the young swordsman to duck underneath it out of reflex.

The guard seemed surprised by his quick reaction however and slashed at him again, this time swinging his steel blade down in a vertical motion towards Airen's head. Airen who was still slightly confused about what was going on, sidestepped the strike and responded by round house kicking the guard in the face.

After questioning the now barely conscious guard, Airen learned that the king had given the royal guards orders to capture Airen in hopes of luring Etran back to the city. Airen probably would have been able to find out out more if he hadn't been spotted by a group of guards who were patrolling the city. Seeing one of their own lying hurt on the ground, and Airen standing over him with his hand on the hilt of a knife, the guards decided to forget about asking questions and instead chased Airen down and out of the alleyway.

He managed to lose the guards eventually and stealthily made his way back to his house where he grabbed Tentogiri, packed some food into a backpack, and exited the house through the upstairs window, disappearing silently into the night. He left the city far behind, and three years later is still running from the ones who pursue him, constantly searching for his brother, the person who seems to have all the answers.

Appearance: Airen is average in height and weight for a person his age, but his body has a slight amount of muscle tone that shows that he's used to physical labor.(In his case, mainly training with his brother, and evading guards during his early teen years.) When he's not being chased by bounty hunters or mercenaries he's usually smiling, and is often seen reading a book of some kind.

When traveling and during battles he wears a long-sleeved black jacket over a solid white shirt, and a pair of long black pants. He also wears a dark brown belt with sheaths to hold exactly two knives and a dagger, and a pair of brown hiking boots. His sword stays sheathed at his side so that it's easier to draw in case of a sudden attack. He keeps the majority of his other possessions in a brown backpack that he's carried around with him ever since he fled Orthia.

He is an intelligent youth and is quite capable of solving most types of problems quickly. He's a loyal friend, and is quite willing to go out of his way to help anyone who seems to need assistance, as long as it doesn't endanger any of his friends or family for him to do so.

It was during this period of time that he befriended a half elven, orphan girl named Lyna and her twin brother Ithric. The friends were often seen together wandering the marketplace or sparring with makeshift wooden swords out in the field, close to the main gate that led to the city so they would be able to make it back into the city before the sun went down.

This happy, peaceful existence was destined to end however. Because on Airen's eleventh birthday his father died from the same illness that had taken his mother's life so long ago. Luckily Etran had just turned eighteen and kept his brother from going to an orphanage by becoming Airen's guardian.

As Airen grew older, he began to become more interested in weapons and fighting in general, and began to pester Etran(who had taken their fathers job as a royal guard) to teach him how to fight. Etran started his younger brothers training by teaching him how to fight unarmed, after that they moving on to lessons in swordsplay and knife combat..

In time Etran also became partly responsible for the training of Ithric and Lyna as well. He taught Ithric the basics of how to fire a bow before convincing an archer friend of his to further Ithric's training. Lyna was more difficult to teach as she wished to learn to be a mage, but Etran pulled some strings at the castle and managed to get her admitted into the Mage Guard as a trainee.

These lessons in combat continued until Airen's sixteenth birthday, when Etran gave Airen the family blade Tentogiri before going to the castle as was his normal daily routine.

No one in Orthia heard anything from Airen after that(although the bounty hunters that the king occasionally sent to hunt down Airen, had given him the title of “Whisper” due to the fact that he snuck up on them and knocked them out every time they tried to capture him) until Etran was found and arrested two years later in the neighboring country of. Taelius. Airen hurriedly returned to Orthia as soon as he was positive his brother had been captured, and no longer fearing his own capture arrived to find that Etran had been placed in the castle dungeons on a life sentence.

The king allowed Airen to speak with Etran, and the first thing Airen did was ask whether or not he had actually tried to kill the king. Etran responded that he had in fact tried to kill the king, but refused to answer anymore of Airen's questions after that.

Unsurprisingly shocked by his brothers answer, Airen walked slowly out of the dungeon trying to figure out why his brother had attempted such a rebellious thing. His spirits were lifted however when he ran into Lyna on his way out of the castle. She had managed to become an actual member of the Mage Guard in the three years that he had been gone, and according to her Ithric had supposedly become the leader of a squad of archers.

It was soon after this that Airen himself became one on the royal guards so that he could help make up for his brothers rebellious act. Unfortunately about two months after he became a member of the royal guard, Etran managed to escape, and the king ordered Airen to recapture him. He willingly set out from Orthia and has been searching for Etran ever since.

Need a better weakness and it'll be approved. Weakness to getting hit is not sufficient if he's super fast and versatile. Everything else is good, if a bit cliche.
