Hated
I had been living the life of ease. Or, at least, what at that time seemed like the life of ease. It was the only life I knew. I wanted hardships. Little did I know then, but I had all the hardships I could ever want. Over time I would come to wish I had not left my hardships/life of ease to travel and see the world, but there was no turning back.
I was 15, and I was restless. We were out of food, and it was the day before a full moon. Yes, a full moon. You have probably guessed the significance of that by now. If you are already hating me now, you can stop reading. Anyways, my family was heading outside the prepare for a transformation when the sun set and the moon rose. The full moon crept over the horizon. Suddenly, all five of us, my parents, my two brothers, and I, jerked and transformed. We all howled at the moon, and we ran off in different directions. I ran towards the nearest forest, for that was where I felt the most at ease when I was a wolf.
I came to the woods, and I stopped to breathe in the blessed scents. My buddies, some wolves that live in the area, smelled me and rushed to come welcome me. We played for the longest time. Eventually, the moon sunk low on the horizon, and I knew I w0uld have to get something to bring back to the house for us to eat over the next month. I crouched down and began sniffing out a rabbit. I dug into its burrow and I killed it while it was sleeping. I killed another rabbit that was in there, and I ate one and brought the other back.
We all gathered back at the house, minutes before sunup. Every one else had gathered a lot of food, but they were all used to me bringing only a little food. We transformed back and began to preserve the meat for when we were going to eat again.
Months passed, and I grew restless of living where I did. I wanted to see the world! I turned 16, and I told my family I planned to set out and see things beyond our home. They wept and argued with me, but my mind was set. They gave me a few coins they had that they had never used, gave me a knife and I transformed into and wolf and set off.
