Devin's Birthday Bash.

(Note: I am well aware how much this chapter sucks, and how cliche it is >_> Also I promise the next one will be better, well at least by my standereds, mainly because their is fighting, and less clicheness, not much less but still, also enjoy, or at least pretend to))

Chapter 1: I learned it through Osmosis!

Destiny is described as: the predetermined, usually inevitable or irresistible, course of events. Something that decides who, and what you are. It decides what you will eat, when you go to sleep, and even when you die. Destiny is all around us, everything we see is Destiny, and those who seek to oppose it are simply cast away. But something about Destiny is wrong, what of free will, what of the God given ability to live as we chose, doesn't that contradict destiny, but to think even further, what is Destiny already knew what we are going to do, in that case isin't destiny just what we make it? Of course no one knows the truth about Destiny, and perhaps no one will. All we do know that if Destiny does exist, it sure does have a sense of humor.

><><><><><>August 23 7:03 <><><><><

5 hours. Somewhere in a small town a small girl scurried through the endless street, and maze of people. 5 hours. She managed to scrounge up quite a bit of money with odd jobs, but was it enough? 5 Hours. Bursting into a small shop she saw something that just might work. 5 Hours. Of course, that on the wall, he's obsessed with them, it has to work. 5 Hours. But its so expensive, it will take her entier funds. 5 hours. No time to think, she's already bought it.

Skipping home happily she held her present in hand, completely forgetting that the person the present is for might be home. Opening the door, and closing it loudly. "He Cari, where have you been?"

"No Wheres" panic, rushing upstairs she saw the foot of devin come around the first corner, quickly she spun around and saw an open closet. yes!. Shoving her present inside, she slammed the doors, and turned around to see Devin stareing through her, "Yes?"

"Whats in the closet...?"

"Nothing!" She replied quickly, maybe a little too quickly, "why would there be anything in the closet?"

"well usually normal people keep stuff in their closests..."

"Since when have we been normal."

"I suppose your right...Lets eat"

"Good idea" The rest of the day was fairly standered, other then the fact that Devin constantly tried to look into the closet, and Cari constantly diverted his attention. Once she even had to fake spraining her ankle, but in the end he stayed away from the closet. A hard task but if anyone could do it, Cari could.

<><><><> August 24th 7:07 AM <><><><>

A shimmering sun light spread into the small room, as the clouds parted over head. Inside two bodies slept blissfully, in anticipation for the special day ahead of them, of course it would be special for a different reason then either of them could imagine. In a small corner of the plain room, a pair of eyes fluttered open, as the mouth yawned. Slowly the being got up, and looked around scanning the surrounding.

Slowly the cat named Dominic walked over to his “owners” bed, standing on his chest as he breathed lightly. Leaning over the cat licked his cheek lightly, causing him to squirm a little bit mumbling something incomprehensible. Tilting his small head he leaned down, and licked his face some more causing Devin to squirm some more, and finally open his eyes, seeing a small fuzzy face staring down at him.

“Hey Dominic, what are you doing” Sitting up Devin rubbed his eyes, as his pet cat jumped on his shoulder meowing into his ear, “Oh yeah, I bet you can tell can't you,” Devin wasn't sure why he talked to Dominic, or even if he could understand him, but something in his gut told him the small feline knew what he was talking about. “Yep I'm one year older!” Smiling brightly he looked to his right for someone he knew he could share his excitement with...but she wasn't there.

Then as if by some written cue a small sweet voice called from the kitchen “Oh your finally up, I thought you'd sleep till noon,”

The young boy only laughed, and walked to the only window to get a good look at the sun, “What are you going on about,” he said staring at the sun's position in the sky, “Its only like Eight,”

“And how do you know that?” The girl replied, walking back into the main room. Her shoulder length reddish blond hair was down, and fairly messy, and she was still wearing her night gown. In her hands where two plates chalked full with bacon, eggs, and other such breakfast goodies.

“By looking at the sun of course, how do you tell the time?” The bow took the plate of food, and nodded politely, sitting down crosslegged on the floor, “and where did we get the money to pay for this, its looks like you spent a fortune,”

Smiling politely the Girl sat down her legs to her side, “By looking at a sundial usually, or I just guess,” taking a bite out of a piece of egg she continued, “And don't worry about the funds, this is your special day after all,”

“You didn't go and have a big day planned did you,” The boy said looking at her questionly, while taking a rather large bite out of a piece of slightly burnt toast.

“Would I do something like that?”

“Yes,”

“Oh come you could at least play along, it is your birthday. Your as old as me know,”

“For two weeks,” The youth said rolling his eyes, and taking another bite out of his eggs. A few minutes of idle **** chat later and the birthday breakfast was all but over, as the boy youth whipped his mouth clean of egg yoke, and placed the napkin on his plate, smiling in delight, “That was good!”

“Thanks,” The young girl said taking both plates, and standing up, turning towards the kitchen. Devin only stared as she walked away, he wasn't really sure why, or at what, but he was.

“So are you going to feed, Dominic before he starts whining?”

“Huh,” Snapping out of his semi-trance, he looked to his side catching eye of the small blue, and white cat rubbing against his side, purring delightfully, “Your always hungry,”

“Mew?”

<><><><>August 24 3:04 PM <><><><>

“Ok this is the last thing I promise,”

“It better be, I don't think I approve of you spending so much money...” Devin said as he was being led by the hand, by an overly excited girl.

“Oh Shush, I earned all this money myself, and I'll spend it how I like!”

“Fine, fine, where are we going this time,” I guess its hard to understand Devin's logic here, well let me explain. First Cari brought him him to a fishing hole, and after that was done, she dragged him to an archery range, then to lunch by the ocean, after all that Devin was a little annoyed, when you live like street urchins, money is scarce to come by, and she sure spent a lot of it on him, but the most was yet to come.

“Home!”

“Home?” It was too later, they where already there. Currently they lived in a small apartment type house above a local store. The only reason they where allowed to stay there is because they stopped a couple thieves a while, back and the store master thought it was the least he could do.

“Sit here,” Cari said lightly nudging Devin's shoulder causing him to fall dramatically into the dirty chair he was standing in front of.

“I feel scared...should I feel scared,”

“Weirdo...” The girl said walking towards the only closet in the house, and pulling an object out.

“I KNEW IT,”

“What?” Cari called out over her shoulder.

“I knew you hid something in there,”

“Well obviously. An idiot could have figured that out.”

“Meanie,”

“Wimp,”

“*****,”

“That was uncalled for...”

“You know its true,” The boy replied sticking his tongue out at her.

“Fine then, I wont give you this present...”

“Sorry Cari...What'd you get me?!?” Suddenly it seemed that all logic, and reason about conserving money was taken away by the childish impulse of presents.

“I hope you like it,' Cari said turning around, holding a strange object in her hands. Devin looked at it a little confused for a second, before he recognized the stringed instrument. It what was called a guitar...but why did she get him one. Of course the answer was revealed a second later, as the girl flicked an invisible switch, and out of the top of the guitar, came a long skinny, thin sword.

Immediately his eyes went wide as he saw it. It was two and a half feet long, three if you include the hilt. The entire blade was incredibly skinny, it had to be in order to hit into the neck of the guitar. There was no hilt of course, and thus no separation between hilt, and blade, other then that fact the hilt is blue, and the blade is silver.

“well...do you like it?” Cari asked sheathing the sword, and handing it too Devin.

“I love it! But why is it hidden like that,”

“Well it just look suspicious walking around with a sword on your waist...so I thought it would make sense,”

“Thank you,” Devin said gleefully wrapping his arms around her in a tight hug, before breaking off to inspect his new toy. Without even thinking he starts strumming aimlessly on the stringed instrument, turns out he's a natural, scratch that he's beyond that, it was like he had been doing it all his life. He hummed along with his instrument for a little, as Cari watched on a big smile on her face, before he started to sing softly.

“I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared
But no one would listen
Cause no one else cared

After my dreaming
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving
When I am done here

So if you are asking
I want you to know

When my time comes
Forget the wrong that I have done
Help me leave behind some
Reasons to be missed

And don't resent me
And when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest”

((Lyrics copyrighted by Linkin park I used them without permission so keep quiet about it ))

Devin finished with a sigh, and gently put the instrument down, 'That was fun,”

“When did you learn that,” Cari asked astonished, as far as she new he couldn't play any instrument, nevertheless sing.

“Huh, I just sort of played, to be honest I've never seen one of these before,”

“Your lying, no one is that good their first time,”

“Well maybe,' Devin said rubbing his chin to think, “I learned it through osmosis!”

Blink blink...”Your an odd apple...” Cari said exasperated, then she noticed something odd Dominic was whining, he rarely even whined, and they just fed him “Dominic, what's up,” Cari said walking over to the window he was scratching at, and immediately her hand went to her mouth, and her eyes into a state of shock, “Oh my god,” She said in a near whisper.

“What's the matter,” The boy questioned walking over to Cari, and immediately his eyes also went wide. Outside the window was the shop keeper, who so kindly let them stay, surrounded by what looked like soldiers, and a spear through his gut, with a pool of blood at his feet, at that point he was already dead, and the only thing keeping him up was the fact that the spear though him was still being held onto by an solder.

Smoothly the solder yanked the weapon out of his gut causing even more blood to fly out, as both Devin, and Cari gasped. Looking up on of the men pointed towards the wind, in a state of panic Devin knew what was coming next and grabbed Cari sending her to the ground as a hail of arrow smashed through the window, and stuck into the ceiling, 'We have to get out of here,” Devin's voice was horsed, and panicked, as he looked around, the only way out was up.

Moving quickly he got to his feet, and grabbed his old rapier, and with an amazing throw slammed it into the wooden piece that locked the door, Motioning for Cari the two rushed towards the stairs but not before Devin grabbed his weapon, As they climbed the stairs with an amazing speed it seemed that every time their feet slammed into the ground their heart would throb in their chests, with each step it would go faster, and faster as they climbed to the top of the seven story building, as the saw the hatch to get outside it was as if a weight had lifted itself of their shoulders, they could still hear the men trying to break into their room five stories down, with a mighty kick Devin busted opened the hatch, and a bright light shined down on them.

You see this building was the tallest in town, however right next to it was a row of six story buildings, and with proper timing they should be able to make it to a far building with a balcony to climb down, however, “Well well well, I guess this trap will work after all,' The voice was dark, and seemed to be coming from all direction, of course Devin knew where the keeper of the voice was, Turning he saw a dark hooded man whose cloak seemed to saw harshly behind him, even though their was no wind. “Welcome Devin, and Cari, I have been waiting for you,”

(Note: The next chapter will be up...whenver I damn well please )

Edit: Oh yeah if your wondering whats up with Dominic the cat, I actually introduced him in A RP with Niku-chan that isin't finished yet, so no I didn't just make him up on the spot >_>

Oh and I forgot the preview.

A shadowy figure appears with evil intentions. What is he planning? How did he get their? And can he get anymore Cliche? Well the answer to the last question is yes, but for the other two! You'll have to wait and see as the battle explodes, lifes are put on the line, and secrets are revealed, next time in Devin's Birthday Bash- Chapter two-Deus Ex Machina Anyone?

Re: Devin's Birthday Bash.

Chapter 2: Deus Ex Machina, Anyone?

Okay allow me to give all you faithful readers a setting. The room itself is impossible dark, to the point you cannot see your hand if you where to put it in front of your face. Further more the only light came from candles set up around the six sided star table that was placed in the exact center of the room. Around the table where the dim outlines of 12 chairs, of which only ten where occupied. A strange setting to say the least, but you know, what can you expect from the council of shadow figures.

“And I say we cannot trust him!” One voice called out, it was small, almost child like to an extent, yet it held an air of respect, and power around it, as if to say, “Don't mess with me”.

“Under what pretense? You have no reason to say such things!” Another voice called back, it was charming, and undoubtable beautiful.

'I can see the rebellion in his eyes! Do not tell me you fail to notice the way he addresses, such disrespect. He seeks to destroy us all, and above all else we cannot trust him with a mission of this importance.” the young scary voice called out again.

“he may seem to be foolish, but so far he has done everything we asked, there is no reason not to trust him! Your just envious that he is able to achieve such power so young, without help!”

“Why you little!,” The voice scowled with an immense hatred, “Avada Ka...” (A/N: Yes that is a Harry Potter Reference, I do not read it, only mock it.)

“LUX LUCIS!” A bright flash of light suddenly formed, and died directly in front of the girl with the child like voice briefly showing her face, which much like her voice was childish, and very cute, with a strange black tattoo around her left eye, “Once again I come back just in time to save you. I should get paid for this.”

Twenty Minutes later. (A/N: Did you honestly think I'd let you know what they discussed)

“Do you understand," A voice said from the top of the table.

“Just one question,” The youthful voice said, “You said I have the right to protect them from anyone I feel as a threat right?”

“That is correct,”

“Good, well I should be going, don't die when I'm gone,” With a stifled laugh he calmly left the room, slamming the door as he left.

><><><><><>August 24th 3:32 PM<><><><><><

“Who the hell are you,” Devin questioned taking a step back, as if ready for the man to strike.

“Oh, my manners must have left thine mind,” The darkly clothed figure mocking, going for a bow, “I am called Molach, one of Hades, and thy devils, who thou art fighting. It thy honor to meet you A...”

“Don't try that know-it-all bull**** on me! What do you want with us?” Cari butted in.

“I seek no crimson skies, merely my thoughts rest on truth.”

“Truth?”

“Aye! The truth,” The man claiming to be a demon said with a sickly smile underneath his flowing hood, “For when thy race began, all who stood upon the soil sought thy truth. And thus thou art seeking it as well, as blind as you be.”

“Why should we believe someone like you?” Devin asked accusingly at the stranger.

“Don't be harsh you of childish intent” The stranger slowly put his hands on the rims of his hood, and threw it off his head, “Truth, was created by thine god for thy purpose of all, don't thou agree?”

Devin gritted his teeth as he watched the movements of this man carefully, surely he was not ordinary, but the reason to justify the belief where not in sight, only a gut feeling at the pit of his stomach, but sometimes that is enough, “How can we trust anything lyou say! You kill people, and you tricked us into this meeting,”

“Trust is not important, for if thy do not comply or at best listen to thin truth I doth send, then thou shalt see the vastness of Hades with thine own eyes, children.” Of course when you are left with two options, one of them being death, the natural human reaction is not to chose death, but instead vie for the other, and like wise they did, letting the strange man know with a slight nod.

“Truth, is to be shared, and thus truth is thus” The man said with seemingly no emotion in his voice.“She who stands by your side hold a secret about thine mother. She seeks your destruction, and she is far more evil then hell itself for what she is bestowing upon you.” There are two types of statements anyone can make, the first is the most common, and consists of helpful information, the other is decidedly different, it is said to spark a reaction for a pre-ordained purpose, and in turn a conflict, why people feel the need to start said conflicts are beyond me, but they do.

From Cari's perspective she didn't even see Devin move, on second he was standing there, relatively calm, and the next his sword was already drawn, and in turn already being blocked by a thin black sword, that the man named Molach carried. Devin's eyes seemed to glow an unearthly color, and his hands where starting to turn white from holding his sword with all the strength he could muster. The man simply pushed back with his blade, and Devin was thrown backwards, landing, and skidding on the large rooftop, it looked as though he wanted to scream, to tell him not to tell such lie, but he couldn't. Now words could form his mouth so he did the only thing he could, do his best to stop the lies spewing from that mans vile mouth.

Devin was at it again, he swung hard, time after time, but the man showed no need for offensive, he simply blocked, and took careful step backs, as Devin continued his furry of attacks. With each step the darkly cloaked man took backwards, Devin swung harder. With a mighty battle cry Devin took a half step back to gather his strength to swing even harder forward only to miss, and inch away from the man, but then as quickly as he attacker, he counter attacked with an upwards slash, Devin cried again twirling for another strike. Each slash became more ferocious, like he was building up for something, as if he was steadily reaching unprecedented levels of strength. Then with all the strength he could muster he leapt forward slashing down.

There it was, the attack he was waiting for. With Devin's highly precise he heard the tip of his blade slash through the mans clothes, as he fell backwards over the edge, seven stories down. Sheathing his blade, the look of blood lust still in his eyes, as he turned around, “Good riddance, he was just trying to cause friction”

“Well well then,” That voice! But...” That was pathetic!” Turning he saw what should have been impossible. Although he clearly saw where his new blade slashed his clothing, but looking deeper, he saw no mark of blood, not even a scratch seemed to be on his body. It was as if the blade didn't touch him at all...But that was impossible, he could feel the blade hitting flesh, he knew there was no way, it must have hit him, “From the stories I heard, from my own personal experience, I was expecting much, much better.”

“How...how...how are you still able to breath, that cut should have finished you?” Devin's could not belive what he saw, that man...he should be dead, even more he was floating in mid air before him. Yet there he was. Odd as it was, Cari had another thought on her mind.

Personal Experience? Has he met Devin before? Quietly she wished to stop what was going on, secrets where not meant to be revealed. Taking her bow, and arrow quickly she sought to end the battle quickly, and with a tug of the string she brought the finely carved arrow back, maybe, just maybe he was too distracted with Devin to notice, just maybe.

The arrow was perfectly timed, perfectly aimed, yet it did not hit. The man did not even move out of the way, but the arrow just disappeared, it was only until she noticed a shinning object in the mans hand that she realized, that somehow he managed to pluck her arrow out of the air...impossible. The man simple looked at her, then something strange happened.

It was as though that just by him looking at her with his ice-blue eyes stopped her. She wanted to move, to breath, but it was like her life was sucked out, and she was simply a puppet, standing dumbfounded in place. “Girl...don't interfere,” He said harshly, in a style much different then before, “Infernal Binding Shadows,”

Panic.

She knew that as soon as those words where said she was done for. She could feel the presence of the ten tentacles of darkness creeping up from behind her, and she knew that even if she wanted to escape she could. She could only managed a scarred scream before they wrapped around her, and held her in place, squeezing, and nearly choking her. She tried to struggle, she tried to escape, but she, Cari, Already knew she was done for.

Devin could only watch by helplessly as the shadow ropes entangled her, tearing away at her life. As he regained senses, he went to run to save her, that's what the hero does after all. But it was to no avail, the man somehow was already in front of him, a strange smile across his blood red lips, “If thy truth lies in saving the orphan girl, thou shall fight me,” Choices.

Choices are the hardest thing to make, to make a choice requires five steps. The fith is realization that a choice must be made, and to understand that. Second: One must think of all the possible choices, and that leads directly to the third step: The person must weight the pros, and cons of the choice, and chose the one best fitted, then of course step four is to actually preform the choice, and then there is the final Step. Consequences. This is the hardest step because you have no say, whatever you do you must be prepared to accept the consequences of your actions, whether they be good or bad. The worst part is always the one you have no say in.

In either case Devin had two options, he could either ignore the man known as Molach, and go to save his companion, or fight this man. Both had pros, and cons, and in the end Devin chose to fight, as he could not risk both of them dying, by a sneak attack.

Devin with his thin slender blade struck fast, and furious, only to have it blocked, once again by the strange man, it seemed he was able to read everything Devin did. This time however the man fought back stabbing hard towards Devin heart, but to Devin's credit he quickly, and precisely drew his shield from his back, and blocked the stab, and though he was pushed back a couple feet from the strong feet, the shield was unharmed. The tip of the blade seemed to hit in the direct center of the shield, in the middle of the circle made by the oroborus.

“Heh, thy shield of legends, perchance thy rumors have merit” Without even a second thought the man struck again, harder this time, and for Devin's head, and while the boy was able to block the weapons relentless strike with his shield, he was thrown far backwards, skidding, and sliding on the ground until he reached the end of the roof, stopping just shy of death.

The shocked boy, whose body was laying on the ground facing up towards the bright sun. The something blocked his vision of the clear crystal-blue sky, at figure with a thin black hand leaping into the air. '****” Rolling he was able to dodge to downwards stab, but now Devin was facing downwards towards the seven story drop that awaited him if he failed, and some where behind him he heard the agonized moans of his friend as her life was being sucked away, somehow that sound, the muffled moans of someone far behind him, was enough to give him strength, enough to fight back.

Hearing footsteps beside him, he knew who was waiting, and with only intuition guiding his movements he swiftly spun around kicking the legs out from under the monstrous man with super natural abilities. Jumping to his feet, he saw that the man had only fallen to one knee, and that was enough. Knowing from experience that his blade would not, could not cut, that man called Molach, he swiftly, and with all the strength he could muster bashed his shield into the face of his opponent sending the man backwards to the ground if only for a moment. Then as fast as he could Devin charged toward the bounded Cari, seeking her saving.

Everything went slow, each step Devin took seemed like a life time, something was dreadfully wrong, as he ran he didn't seemed to be getting there. Then his eyes went blurry, as if shrouded by tears, was he crying? No...he convinced himself he wasn't but what was wrong, then his brain received the signals that told him, and his left shoulder cried out in pain. With his blurry pain ridden vision he saw that the man was standing there, in front of him, his blade was stabbing into something, what was it? Why did it hurt so much? Of course...the blade was in him. Slowly the man turned the blade, as Devin cried out in pain, and fell to his knees, trying to regain his sense. Just barely being able to bring back sight, he looked up with scared eyes to see the man had rose his arm blade in hand. Devin could only remember thinking one thing as the blade came crashing down, Happy biiirthdaaay toooo me

Then Nothing.

No blade came, no more pain was felt, only the gentle clank, of metal against metal. The boy who had closed his eyes as he prepared for death slowly opened them, and the first thing he noticed, was what Cari's bindings, where cut, and she was on the ground on hands, and knees panting heavily, then looking up he saw the friendly face of his savior. His long blond hair seemed to dance in the wind, and his long flowing cape seemed to follow suite in a heroic fashion. In the mans left hand he held an extremely long slender blade, with strange wittings on it that held Molach's blade back. One thing Devin carefully noted though...was that before there was no wind. (A/N Guess who)

“Deus ex machina, anyone?” The savior asked with a bright smile.

OoC: Ok here is a little notice for anyone who gives a damn about my main storyline. From now on any Battle/Rp/Fiction involving the following characters Tsuukai, Maria, Devin, Cari, And kaze where I mention a NPC's actual name, I would try my best to remember that character, because they will return at the very least two more times, and they will have an important role. I don't bother giving pointless characters names, its just to much work

Preveiw Time: OMGZ it's Kaze, but where was he hiding? How did he get there? And how come he saved them just in the nick of time like a silly Cliche? These and more shal be answered, as bonds are broken, truths are revealed, and ships leave dock, on Chapter three of Devin's Birthday Bash

Re: Devin's Birthday Bash.

Chapter 3:

With a gentle, almost reluctant push, the strange savior motioned the attacker back. Devin, on hands, and knees scurried away from the scene in front of him, fearful of what would become. As the Stranger with the white sword stood staring with cold gray eyes at the supposed demon, Devin finally got a good look at him.

He wasn't a tall man by any means, if anything he was dwarfed by the attacking man, and the long sword in his hand look awkwardly disproportionate to his body. His flowing golden hair danced from side to side as the two stood waiting for the other to speak, and his cape seemed expensive, and was undeniably fancy, yet in a way heroic, and seemed to stand in contrast to fairly plain attire, of a blue tunic, and simple slacks, with black boots, before Devin could study this strange many any longer a voice shot out, “Thou art in my way, remove your self fastly stranger,”

“No,” The man said plainly in such a way that it left no room for contestation.

This answer didn't seem to sit well with the one known as Molach, “And who art thou to protest my judgement,”

“I was hoping you would ask,” The stranger said with with a serious look, as a unusually strong gust of wind hit his cape sending it dancing behind him, “I am the bringer of the storms, and the rains. I am the master of the winds, and creator of hurricanes, all of this planets weather bows under my control, my Name is Kazaisu, The Grand Archmage of Wind!...” His serious look faded into a small smile, “But you can call me Kaze,” Devin slowly got to his feet as the man talked, slightly bemused by the strange wind that seemed to change in intensity at the blink of an eye.

Again the two men where at a Stalemate, Kaze's gray, and almost neutral eyes transfixed onto the dark benevolent eyes of the one called Molach, both with a sort of calm air around them. Despite what looked to be a tense situation neither of the two forces felt anything of the sort, as each was deciding their next move, and perpetual fear....

“You there” The Grad Archmage of Wind shoot the strange attack a disapproving glare, “I must apologize for ruining your fun Molach,”

“Oh so you do know thin name,” Molach said taking a small threatening step forward, “Never the less, you are in my way, now cease, or face cold steel,”

“On the contrary,” Kaze said sheathing his sword, and pulling out what looked to by a scroll, from somewhere hidden by his cape, “Under the newly stated Royal Decree of The grand Chamber Of Mages, any action towards these to children will be seen as an act of war, and those under the code must hunt, and kill the perpetrator...”

“Kill me,” Molach said with a stifled chuckle, “have thou no wits, nor senses? Are thou truly blind to who I am.”

“Vos es a everto of altissimus ordo” Now to this day it is unknown why Kaze started this conversation in Latin, whether it was because he did not want his small friends to catch wind, or if he only knew certain words in Latin, so he spoke it all like that, in either case though Kaze's word may seem a mystery, they seemed to hit the strange man hard, as he look surprised by it.

“Vos teneo mihi? Quantus operor vos teneo?” While Kaze's reasons are left in the dark, it was quite obvious Molach was trying to keep his own identity secret.

“Satis” So Devin completely confused, sort of walked slowly back to stand beside Cari, hopelessly trying to figure out what exactly was going on.

“Tunc EGO volo vos teneo quis est in ut puer contego” For some reason Kaze quickly shot a glance at the boy Devin, who for some reason still was holding his shield in hand...

“Ouroborous?”

“immortalis” Devin just sort of looked at Cari as the two carried on their conversation a little bit to causally.

“What are they talking about?”

“I have no idea,”

“, but they sure are strange, they act like they've known each other for ages, but Molach still asked that Kaze guy's for his name, so that can't be true at all...”

“Sic si ut est verus , quis est puer?” There it goes again, the conversation that seems to be shrouded in secret. I guess its probably a good thing it is, cause it would probably give way to much of the story away...but I digress.

“Suus a specialis ut sulum,”

“Well,” As Kaze spoke these words Devin, and Cari both sighed with relief as finally they where able to understand what was going, “If your going to be like that, then I see no reason to stay here, as you offer no help at at,' The two younglings shot each other a glance that clearly said 'what is he talking about', “So I must bid you adu Molach, and I expect to see you in the future,”

“Make no move, you do, and your death shall be slow,”

Kaze could offer no intelligible reply to such a threat, and merely laughed, before taking a quick deep breath, “Please Molach, its bad enough I have to play “Dues Ex Machina” but could you at least stop trying to act like a cliche Villain, or I'm seriously going to have to kill you,”

“What kind of speech is that, a threat for thy is no more harmful then one from the kids” He who clamed himself Demon said with an air of arrogance on his voice.

“Listen bub, I don't have time for you, or your dreadfully tasteless monologues,” He who called himself Kaze remarked, as he swiftly drew his pure white blade, and pointed it at the villain, “I have things to do, and places to go, so once again,” Kaze spun the sword downwards, and plunged it deep into the roof they where standing on, “ 'ut quod attero per sanus levitas', Get us out of here” Kaze spoke with a deep smile, “Chaos,”

With the impact and sudden ferocity of a bomb, the entire structure began to crumble and fall apart on itself, sending the four spiraling downwards seven stories below. Instinctively Devin, and Cari grabbed onto each other for one last comfort before what they perceived as their ultimate demise, their heads flashing back to happier times, as they felt themselves falling, and though the fall took mere seconds, it could have easily been mistaken for hours by those who fell it. Devin looked as the end came closer, and slammed his eyes shut, as if he was hoping to awake from some nightmare.

There was no resounding crash, or sudden piercing pain, there was no white light, or golden gates. Devin Groggily opened his eyes, to find himself oddly slung over one shoulder of their savior, with Cari over the other. Looking towards her, he gave her a confused look, to which she could only shrug...or what one would assume was a shrug given their situation. Looking back Devin could see the smoke billowing from the rubble of their old home slowly shrinking in the distance as their Savior ran at full speed across town.

“What...what just happened?” Devin questioned the man who was carrying him to safety.

“I just saved you ass for a second time,”

“But wasn't it you who put us into the predicament in the first place?” Cari replied.

“I could bring you back to him, if you want,”

Back at the cursed place, beneath the ruble a single heart thudded against its owners chest. Standing up with little effort, the man calmly threw the bodies of the men who where chasing our heroes before. And with a small stretch, the man prepared himself for the hunt, well he was going to until another interjected.

“Molach,” A young voice said, from behind the demon.

“You,” The large man said spinning on his heel to see he who addressed him. He caught sight of the small stature boy, who looked no older then eight. His golden, almost white hair spread down his body, and his bright blue eyes seemed to pierce the darkness, “What brings thou here?”

“I was about to ask the same question,” The boy said sternly, “You have nought the permission to be in the mortal realm, so then why do I find you attempting to alter its destiny?”

“Your words sting deep my lord. I had no such intentions.”

“Then what where your intentions?”

“I was following an order,”

“Given by whom?”

“Guess...”

“Hm,”

“Well...?”

“Out of my sight,”

“As you wish my lord,”

“I will have to speak with him, myself,” The boy mused turning, and walking slowly away.

<><><><><><><><><><><><>

“Thank you so much,” Devin said with a huge smile when Kaze finally let him down when the reached the town port, grasping Kaze's side in a embrace to extenuate his point.

“Idiot!” Kaze nearly screamed throwing Devin off him with a single arm movement, sending the bewildered to the boy to the ground hard, “You really are a foolish child, you could have gotten yourself killed there, do you never think?”

“B...but...I”

“But nothing, you keep your attitude and you'll wind up dead. You can't just up and fight every person you meet, your lucky I was there to save you, and even then had it not been for a little bit of luck we'd all be dead.”

“Hey that is not't fair! He was just fighting to save me,” Cari shouted at their “Savoir” not sure what to make of his disposition.

“And I suppose you fancy he's a Hero for it? Child if you'd had run in the first place you may have escaped and never put yourself in that position, saving a foolhardy girl is no excuse for this.”

“I...” Cari stuttered over her words for a second, before remaining quiet.

“I'm taking you two into my custody, I have orders to bring you to my home if you get yourself in trouble,”

“Uhh...” Cari stuttered, as the buy got to hi feet, “What about Dominic...our Cat? Is he dead?”

“...Child...” Kaze said shaking his head, “Your cat never existed,”

“What...do you mean?”

“I took that form in order to keep an eye on you,” Kaze sighed, and turned away, “To bother yourself with it, would be foolish, just come along quietly until I find us a ship,”

Like all things worth doing, it took time. It seemed no ship wanted to lend their sails to such a motley Crew, as one would say. Who could really blame the brave seamen, as the three had an overall strange appearance. A man with an overly flashy appearance, and a cape, leading two heavily armed kids, all of which looking like they just came out of an explosion, (Which is untrue, it was more of an implosion than explosion). Of course after about...an hour...or five, they finally found a pirate generous enough to let them sail with them, for a small price.

“200,000?!?!” Devin Shouted in a mixture of shock and disbelief, “We don't have that kind of money.

“Well then you don't have my services,” The Female Pirate said gruffly.

“Shutup Kid,” Kaze said before turning to the Captain, “300,000, 100,000 right now, 200,000 when we get there...Deal?”

“Hmmm,” The Lady said, putting her hand to her chin, and sticking her other hand into the pocket of her white puffy pants, “You maties have found yourself ship, welcome aboard” The Pirate said stepping aside, and motioning them towards the wooden Ramp leading up to the magnificent ship, with large black sails. The two children eagerly ran aboard, and found themselves examining the deck in ecstasy, as the slightly irritated Kaze stopped short, and waited to walk with the Captain.

“What ails you? Join you friends,” The Female said waving him aboard.

“Friends, hardly. More like irritations,”

“What you don't like them?”

“I hardly know them, its a long story really, but I have orders to bring them with me,”

“That's slightly odd you know,” The Pirate commented with a wave of her hand, “I'm amazed they agreed.”

“They are...how do you say...immature, they assume my intentions are good because I saved their lives.”

“Are they?”

“Mine are...those who order me...I cannot rightly say,”

“Then why go?”

“I have my reasons,” Kaze said with a slightly smile, “As I am sure you have yours”

“What are you saying?”

“No person, Pirate or otherwise would willing take a bunch of armed Vagabonds onto their ship without some other motive. Even for this kind of money,”

“Your perceptive...aren;t you,”

“I try,”

“Tell you what,” The pirate said with a smile, “I keep my motives as secret as yours, aye?”

“Aye” Kaze said extending his hand, as the girl complied his offer, giving a firm handshake with her leather gloved hand, “But May I ask, what is your name.”

“Captain Elizabeth Tailor, Just Call me Captain Liz if you would.”

“Can do,”

“And how are you, I should need to know my clients name,”

“I am the Archmage of Wind Kazaisu, you can just call me Kaze however,”

“Archmage of wind?” Liz questioned with a scrutinizing look. Kaze merely nodded and started walking up the ramp, offering no explanation for his title, only speaking again when he stepped aboard.

“How long till we depart?”

“One hour...What's it to you?” Captain Liz replied stepping aboard herself.

“That's no reason of yours,” Kaze remarked coldly, taking a look at the ship for himself. It Was a fairly conservative style, nothing like the usual Pirate ship, “An Army Vessel,” Kaze commented to himself, as he walked towards the children, who where amusing them self with a couple sticks, playing a sword fight, “You two come here,”

Preveiw: Next time, in this heavily delayed fiction. Their on a Pirate ship, so only one thing can happen, and I know you all like Pirates of the Carribean. Devin learns something knew about himself, and Cari follows in Kaze`s footsteps. And a surprise Guest appears, someone Kaze knows very well. Not isin`t that just peachy.
