No Rest For The Wicked
Prolouge
The nearby brook, ran its full length of water over smooth rocks. Dante sat in a small tree overhanging the long dead leaves, of its predecessor. He felt good, and alive. The king of Hyrule named him his "top" mercenary. Dante mulled over the fact silently. "Do I really deserve the top spot," he thought.
Suddenly, Dantes peaceful thoughts crumbled like the ruins of an ancient cities wall. There was screaming; it was erratic, and hard to make out. He realized why: the men were shrieking in different languages.
Dante hopped off the tree, and landed softly on the ground like a cat. He sprinted quickly, just another shadow in the dim woods of the Kokiri.
The men were only a small ways from the soft gurgle of the brook. An unnaturally pale man lay on the ground with an arrow protruding from his stomach. Just then both, of what appeared to be, leaders turned to Dante.
One spoke in Hylian, the other in Terminish. The Hylian spoke first. “We need help! These are intruders!” he spoke like the chattering monkeys at Deku Palace. Then the soldier from Termina spoke up. “They shot one of our own! That’s right, I know who you are! Your that Ikanian,” he spoke with exaggeration. “You think you can just Waltz out of your dead kingdom like that! Ha!” Dante responded with a punch.
The soldier spun and fell. “No one talks about Ikana that way…Unless your asking for a deathwish,” Dante thought. Now the two factions of men stared with even more ferocity at each other. Dante turned calmly towards the Hylians.
“These are soldiers of Termina a land unknown to your people. My kingdom lies on the east-side of Termina,” He spoke loudly, and clearly. “Your kingdom is dead!” the Terminian soldier on the ground commented. Dante booted him in the side. The soldier coughed harshly and fell again.
“We shall get this man medical treatment immediately,” Dante spoke to the Hylians. They agreed silently, and walked away carrying the wounded man; the Terminian soldier struggling to lift his shambled body from the long dead leaves of an overhanging trees predecessor.
This is my first character fiction so don't be too harsh. Go ahead and comment whenever.
