Quest of Curses: The Followers

OoC: Ok, this time around, I will not post the next chapter until someone comments. And if you want to understand this story, you have to read my other one because this is the sequal.

BiC: Chapter 1

Jabel wanted to stay in the town, but he couldn’t. He had to fulfill his duties as the chosen one. He made some friends in the this small community so he wanted to say goodbye to them. Jabel went to a local pub where most of his companions hung out. Though when he had arrived, no one was there. Jabel thought that this was strange, it was Saturday, and Saturday was when everyone hung out at this bar. The sign on the door said ‘open’ so Jabel went inside. He checked upstairs. But unfortunately, nobody was around. Jabel checked the basement, no one. Jabel went next door to a market. He went up to the front to ask where everyone went, but the outcome was the same as at the bar, nobody was there. Jabel went across the street to a barbershop. Jabel found nobody there either.

Jabel checked high and low across the whole town. He soon figured out that he was the only living creature in the town. Jabel thought that something was up. Jabel had to leave town without saying goodbye to anyone. So he set off on his adventure. He went the opposed direction of the desert, to avoid near death experiences again. The opposite way was mountains, so that was where he went. At the top of one mountain, he saw a fire burning so he headed that direction. On the way up the mountain, he met a mountain lion. The lion charged at Jabel, but Jabel just dodged the beast with a back flip. The ferocious feline turned around to face the warrior with no irises then stampeded itself toward Jabel’s direction. Jabels stuck his sword out in front of him just in time for the lion to run face first into it.

Jabels saw a river nearby. He went over there to get a drink then clean the blood off his sword. He kept going towards the fire. He finally made it to his destination. He found that someone made camp here. The man who was camping out came out of his tent. Jabels asked the man:

“Do you know anything that has happened to the town at the bottom of the mountain?”

“Yes” said the man, who appeared to be very sick

“I would like it if you would tell me.” Jabels told the man.

“They were here.” Said the sick man

“Excuse me?” asked Jabels “Who was here?”

“His followers” said the man, coughing and weezing

“Who’s followers? What are you talking about?” Jabels asked curiously

The man went back into his tent, coughing and now vomiting. Jabels sighed and stuck his head into the tent to ask him again, but the man was dying and Jabels couldn’t do anything to help. The man died very quickly. Jabels, as a decent person, dug a whole in the ground with his katana and buried the man. Jabels made his way down the other side of the mountain to make his way to the next town. But not even thirty yards later, he saw two men in combat.

It seemed to be man in white clothes, with black hair, and markings on his face, in combat with another man, who was wearing black and red, has blonde hair, and was pretty short. The man in black seemed to have been winning the battle. The man with black hair ran, while the blonde followed right behind the one in white. The with markings on his face jumped off a tree with a back flip while the unexpecting short man rammed his face into the bark. Then the man took his opponents sword and impaled him through his darkly clothed back, and stuck him to the trunk of the tree. Jabels went up to the man and was about to ask him a couple questions about the town. But the man stuck his sword to Jabel throat before he could say anything. Jabels didn’t blame him, he would have done the same thing. Jabels quickly said:

“I am not here to hurt you, but to ask questions. I do not wish to fight you.”

“Alright” said the man “What do you have in mind of asking?”

“Do you know anything about why the town at the other side of the mountain was deserted?” asked Jabels “ They were there yesterday, but no one was there today”

“I do not know of the events that have happened to your town, I am from another town.” Said the man in an exhausted tone

“My name is Jabels, what is your name?” Jabels asked the man

“You can call me Jing” said the man. Jabel noticed that the man was wearing a key around his neck. “What’s that key for?” asked Jabel. “It’s a personal secret.” said Jing.

“ Oh, well, could you take me to your town?” asked Jabel

“Sure, follow me” said Jing

Jabels followed the man for three kilometers, then he saw a town. Jabels thought that a town in the mountains seemed strange, but he was anxious to ask people about the people of the other town. The town he was now entering was called Durina. He asked everyone in town but no one knew even of the town he was speaking of. Jabels thought that he deserved a break, so he went to the local pub with Jing. Jabels and Jing were just sitting at a table with there drinks talking about some of their battles they have been in. Jabels had seen what Jing could do but Jing had never seen Jabels in action. Just then, a man who was wearing black and purple with his name on his name written on his forehead (John) walked into the bar and went to Jabel table. The man said to them:
“This is my table, get out” “No, we were here first and you can’t make me” said Jabels. Just then, the man pulled out a ninja’s sword. Jabels got out his katana while Jing got out of the way. John jumped onto the table, but Jabels who was still in his seat pulled his legs out from under him. Jabels jumped onto the table with him. John got up, then Jabels punched him in his face. John fell off the table strait on his back. Jabels tried to jump onto John but he rolled out of the way while Jabel shoulder hit the floor. John put his sword in a reverse grip for stabbing. John ran towards Jabels intending to stab Jabels right in the gut. But Jabel leg was longer than the sword, and kicked the sword out of John’s grip. Jabels ran half way up the stairs, just between John and his equalizer. Jabels pretended to turn his back, but he could still see John’s shadow hurrying up the stairs. Jabels threw his sword down, and he got John in his foot. The katana went through the wood in the stairs so the man would be stuck unless he wished to lose his foot. Jabels ran up to get the ninja’s sword that he kicked out of John’s hands. He stuck the sword to John’s throat.
“I could kill you now.” said Jabels. “Then do it” exclaimed John. “You won’t prove anything by it”
“I will take that risk” said Jabel. Jabel at that instant pushed the man’s own sword strait through his neck. John fell over, hanging down on the stairs. Jabel took his katana out of John’s foot, then John fell down the rest of the stairs.

Jabel was kicked out of the bar, and banned from ever coming back there again.

Jing joined him outside the pub. Jing decided to take Jabel to his place. As they made their way onto Jings front yard, Jabel saw a dark figure in the bushes, though he thought nothing of it. They both stepped into Jings large hut. The hut was made of mostly straw and logs, and had four separate rooms: Living room, kitchen, bedroom, and restroom. Jabel needed to pee so he helped himself to the restroom. But when he got out, he couldn’t find Jing. He went out back and yelled his name, but there was no answer. Suddenly, he saw an arm come around his head started to choke him. The shadowy man threw something in the bush and it bursted into flames. The man threw Jabel into the fire and the shadow figure jumped in there with him. The fire was a portal, a portal to some kind of prison cell underground.

The shadow figure walked out of the cell then locked it. Jabel was in a cell by himself. Jabel was wondering where exactly he was. He was also worried about Jing, he could be in the cell next to him for all he knew, the cells were separated by cedar blocks. About two hours later, two very tall and muscular men escorted Jabel out of his prison cell in hand cuffs. Jabel was surprised that the escorts didn’t see that Jabel had a katana. Jabel quickly and quietly took out his katana and sawed his hand cuffs off. He pretended that he still had them on just in case.

Jabel was taken to what looked like an arena. He was put onto a platform, then they strapped rope around his neck. Jabel soon realized that he was going to be hanged, in front of an arena filled with people anxious to watch. Then a man way up on a higher platform yelled out for everyone to hear: “This man you see before you has committed a horrible crime, he has assassinated our lord ”
Jabel thought back, John was their leader? That explains his attitude, but how could he be their lord? He isn’t even a good combatant What did he do to deserve to be a leader? Everyone started to count down from ten, until they let the floor go and hang Jabel. Jabel still was acting as though he still had hand cuffs on, and he had his katana in his clutch. Once they hit one, Jabel cut the rope and dropped to the ground because they let the floor go. Everyone was shocked. But they had a plan B. “Release the man-eating lions ” 3 huge lions came out, and then stampeded there way over to their dinner. Jabel put his cause and effect skill to work. He jumped onto one lion and started to ride it. Jabel held on for his life. The lion he was riding was incredibly stupid, it was looking around for Jabel and couldn’t find him, but the other lions could. They both pounced with their claws out and ready to bite. Jabel jumped off the lion and the lions ended up attacking the other lion. The lion suffered a bite to it’s neck. Then there were two. One lion got to Jabel faster than the other, Jabel kicked it in it’s nose. The lion back up for awhile to regain dome pride. The other lion though was completely annoyed with Jabel now. The lion ran after the warrior, but Jabel stuck his sword out and it went through the eye, out the other side of its head.

The last one was angry, and it ran as well towards Jabel. Jabel hit the deck, and the lion ran right over Jabel. Jabel uppercutted the lion and it roared in pain. Jabel smacked it in the face with his sword, just to stall while he got ready for his power move. Jabel then decided not to use it, he was going to save his energy because he had a feeling he might need it. Jabel just chose to finish the last lion off with a stab to the ribs. Jabel overcame the odds again, but when he looked up in the crowd, he heard people yelling at him: “Why did you kill him? You are a bastard You killed our great lord......” Jabel at that moment figured out that John wasn’t their leader.

Indeed, their leader was not John but the man Jabel battled out in the desert, Rubin. Jabel saw that Rubin had taken over many civilizations, and Jabel killed the ruler. Jabel was taken back to his prison cell later that day. After twenty or thirty minutes later, a man came a stood by his cell.
“You have to some nerve, kid” said the man
“What am I supposed to do when I am about to die?” Jabel answered.
“Well, thanks to you, we had an idea” said the old man “You will have to participate in one battle everyday until you are killed in combat.”
“Is that so?” Jabel said, with a half smile on his face “I will fight anyone, anywhere, any time.”
“Your next battle is tomorrow”

The next day, Jabel was escorted out into the arena. His first battle was against two swordsman. Jabel kicked one man in the face to stall while he battled the other man. The swordsman took a swing of faith at Jabel, but Jabel ducked to keep his head on his shoulders. Jabel uppercutted the man on his way back up. Then Jabel ran over to the other man that he kicked in his face. Jabel cut off the man leg with to slashed to both sides of his ankle. The other swordsman crept up behind Jabel and jumped on his shoulders. Jabel stuck his sword strait up in the air, and it went through the man head, then Jabel flipped the man with the blade through his skull onto the one footed man, then he stabbed strait through both of their stomachs. Jabel won yet another battle. Everyone in the crowds booed Jabel until he went back into his prison cell. Jabel was up all night pondering what sick thing they would do to him tomorrow.

The next morning, Jabel again was escorted to the arena. His next battle was against three horseman. Jabel knew the smartest thing to do was get them off their horses. Jabel, one by one, hit every horse in their legs, now they were useless, except for one horse that had armor. Jabel had a problem now. He got to the horseless swordsmen and impaled one in the chest. The other was a little bit more smarter than the other one. Jabel had a sword fight with that man, making blows and dodging them. The man made the worst mistake of falling over. Jabel put his sword to his neck. He was about to kill him, but the man on the horse came riding by and smacked Jabel in the back his head with the base of his sword, knocking him out for a couple seconds. Everyone cheered for the horseman, but Jabel soon regained his consciousness and played dead. The two large and muscular men who escorted Jabel into the arena carried him out. Jabel who was playing dead, waited until they got into the cell, where they were going to leave him there to die.

Once all three were in, Jabel jumped up and impaled one man through the shoulder. He hurried and stabbed the other man in the leg and ran out of the cell and locked the two men in it. Jabel ran down the hallway to find a hiding spot, but instead he found something else. He found Jing in another cell. Luckily, Jabel still had the keys in his hand. He freed Jing and they both ran out. Jabel saw the drawl bridge to the exit of the prison. Jabel and Jing fled for life across it, to hear the warning horns of escaped prisoners.

Prison guards came swarming after them, Jabel and Jing hoisted up the drawl bridge and squashed people who were trying to escape through the cracks. Six men made it to Jing and Jabel. Jing took on three while Jabel took on the other three. Slit one guys neck, cut off one mans leg and arm then threw him in the water to drown, and used a stone he found on the ground to knock the last one out then stabbed the man through the heart. After Jabel was finished with those guards, he looked over at Jing to see the last of his men to fall to the ground.
The two fled for their lives away from that dreaded prison, though they didn’t know where they were. Flaming arrow were falling from the sky, Jing spotted that they were coming from the prison guard on top of watch towers. Jing and Jabel dodged every one of the arrows with flips and slashes with the swords until they got far enough to get out of reach. Jabel and Jing celebrated with high fives and hugs. The two brave warrior made their way across the plains. It was night by now, but they could still see. They were headed towards a forest. But once they hit the beginning of the forest, Jing heard a sound. "What was that?" Jing asked "Don’t ask me!" Jabel answered. They both got out their prized treasures, their weapons.
It turns out that they were getting worked up by an owl. They decided to make camp about half way through the forest. Jing made a fire, while Jabel made a tent out of logs he cut down from trees around them, and used some of the logs for the fire. Jing fell asleep while Jabel stayed awake for awhile. Jabel was just thinking about what it would have been like if he wasn’t the chosen one, what if he stayed with his tribe. He didn’t want to get his hope up though, he had to get some sleep, he was a wanted man.
The next morning, Jing woke up before Jabel. Jabel woke up to Jings smiling face in his face. Jabel jumped, knocking down some of the logs.
"I made bird cobobs." Jing said to Jabel as he was getting up. Jing showed Jabel his sword. His swordhad three gird at the tip, and they were burnt to a crisp.
"Good idea!" Jabel said happily to Jing. Jabel crawled up into trees and caught three bird of his own. "I made some for you." Jing said "You didn’t have to get your own." Jabel was too hungry to talk. He roasted his birds on his sword but the fire went out. Jabel said to Jing: "Could you pass a few logs over here?" "Sure." Jing said, as he took some of the logs from the tent and through them over to Jabel.
Jabels breakfast was soon interrupted by a sound that wasn’t of an animal. It was guards from the prison, five of them to be exact. They were looking at yet another fight to the death.
The first guard ran after Jing while another one ran after Jabel. Jabel tripped the guard into the still hot campfire. Jing just plain out stabbed his guard in the stomach. Three more were left. Jabel kicked one man in his groin, and made him drop to the ground. Jabel used him as a catapult, he ran and used the mans shoulders and jumped off to get the tallest guy in the head with his katana. Jing finished off the man with a hurting groin by impaling him in the face. The last man standing, they both argued on who got to kill him. They both ended up chasing after him though, but Jabel got to him first. Jabel stabbed him in the back.
Jabel and Jing made their way back to their campsite. Jabel started a fire with two logs. Jabel looked over and saw a guard with Jabels birds in his head. Jabel figured "Why should I waist a perfectly good fire?" He just ate one of Jings bird and tossed the last log into the flame. Something about that log caught his eye. He looked closer at that burning log. It had a carving in it, but he couldn’t make it out. Then it hit Jabel. Jabel looked over at the tree he got that log from. There was a spring in it. He looked over, and he found a dead body with an arrow through his heart.Jabel was in the same forest he was in two weeks ago before he won the battle with Rubin!

Jabel was trapped. If he went one way, he would hit the desert, if he went the other way, he would hit the prison. Jabel hopped up into the tallest tree around to scout his trail. Jabel decided to go east, which leads to nothing but more forest, not a prison, not a desert, but more forest. Jabel told him the story of his battle with Rubin while they were hiking the trail. He told him how they both were naked, and how they were battling in a ring of fire. He also told him that he broke a curse on the desert. Jing didn’t seem surprised. Along the way, they had to fight off a couple of bears. They escaped the beasts without one scratch on them.

Jabel and Jing finally had some peace without having to fight off everyone for awhile. But not long after that was when the shadow figure was back, actually there was two. They both were captured by their necks and then they threw something into a nearby bush, then they jumped in with Jing and Jabel in their clutches. They now found themselves somewhere underground. The walls were stone, the ground was dirt, and the only light came from a large fire in the middle of the room. Jing and Jabel found a passage way at the other side of the fire. They headed towards the hallway but they forgot about the shadow figures. They had to fight them off. It wasn’t hard because they had no weapons.
They made their ways down the hallway. What Jabel saw shocked him. In the next room was a very, very, very big room. The room was filled with the shadow figures, who wore black cloaks with their hoods over their heads. Not only that, but along all the walls were cages. The cages had the people of the town. At the end of the room was a big stage. One shadow figure started to speak:
“Two of our men have set off to find the man who killed our great leader, Rubin. And once he has been found, he will be a sacrifice to our great leader But first, so Rubin does not curse us, we shall give him a sacrifice now ”

Two shadow figures took one woman out of one of the cages. They put her on stage and stuck her head against a tree stump, and ready to behead her. Jabel snuck all the way across the room without being seen. As soon as they swung the axe, Jabel ran by and kicked the axe out of the mans grip. Everyone in the room gasped. Someone screamed out: “That’s him The one who killed our lord ” Everyone swarmed after Jabel, but they had no weapons. Jing fought the ones who were closer to him, and the same went for Jabel. The woman went and hid from the action, but this was just getting started.

Jabel started out by getting on the ground and spinning with his sword out. He made many stumble over each other. He jumped on one mas shoulders and walked over everybody one their heads. Some of them fell over. Jabel got on the ground and suck his sword on the ground, face up, it took good balance but he pulled it off. He threw two men onto it and then threw them off the sword with all his strength. The two men fell on top of other men which gave Jabel some time to take the lives of the other followers of Rubin. Jabel jumped and kicked a man in the face, and on the way down, he kicked another man in the face in a back flip. Jabel saw stairs, he went up them as the shadows followed him. They led to a balcony at the top of this room. Jabel threw a bunch of men off and they hit the benches below. But from behind, one man tripped him, Jabel was hanging from the balcony. He was hanging on for his life. Jabel thought that this would be the way he would die. The men started stomping on his fingers. Jabel was starting to let go. Just then, Jing came from behind the followers and snapped most of their neck and slitting their throats. Jing helped Jabel up. There was a big pile of men at the bottom of the room.
“May I?” asked Jabel
“Why not.” Jing replied. Jing bent over, Jabel backed up, then ran and used Jing as a diving board. Jabel plummeted to the bottom, but along the way, he did a front flip into his magic power move. As he got closer to the ground, his glowing red sword hit the pile of men. It was an explosive noise as the men were completely separated to in two, as in one half of their bodies on the opposite side of the room from the other. They were all dead. Jabel and Jing made their way down the stairs to the bottom of the room.
“We did it.” Jabel said
“Yeah, isn’t it nice.” Jing answered
Jing showed Jabel the back of his neck. Jabel was shocked. On the back of his neck was Rubin’s name. Jing took a swing at Jabel with his sword. Jing was also a follower.

Jabel took a good swing at Jing but Jing took a step back to keep his flesh on his bones. Jing grabbed Jabels arm and started to twist. Jabel side rolled to prevent a broken bone in his arm, then he tried to finish this fight quick and cut off his head, but Jing barely dodged the katana and it’s intentions but he lost a strand of his black hair. Jing used his sword to try and cut off Jabels arm, which was still in his grip. Jabel did the smart thing by head-butting Jing in his chest, knocking the wind out of him temporarily. Jabel ran and hid behind some of the benches. Jing came running after him. Jing looked all around but he couldn’t find him. Jing decided to sit down for a rest.

Jabel was behind the bench that Jing was sitting on. Jabel stood up slowly, then tried to end it all with his sword, yet Jing knew that Jabel was behind him, and he blocked it without looking. Jing punched Jabel in his face, but Jabel retaliated with a loud slap to the cheek. Jing tried to punch Jabel again, but Jabel blocked it with his katana. Jings hand was now cut open, but Jing didn’t seem to be affected by it. Jing tried to punch Jabel with his good, left hand. But Jabel ducked this time, but on his way back up, Jing connected with his bloody, right hand. Jabel had Jings blood on his face.

People from the town that were in the cages along the wall kept chanting for Jabel. Jing told them to shut up, but they kept chanting. Jing went up close to the cage and stuck his sword in it, trying to make a threat of it. Meanwhile, as Jing was busy with the towns people, Jabel ran up to the balcony. Jing realized that he took his eyes off of his opponent. He looked around and again couldn’t find Jabel anywhere. He finally looked up, to see Jabel jumping off the balcony with his sword pointed down. Jing thought fast, he rolled out of the way and then took a swing. He was lucky too, he cut Jabels leg. Jabel screamed in pain.

Jing then jumped on Jabels shoulders. Jabel ran and hit Jing against one of the steel cages, which were as big as a prison cell, and 10 people were in each one. Jing was unconscious because he hit his head on the cage. Jabel realized that he could end this now, but he didn’t want to. Jabel climbed on top of one of the cages, just long enough for Jing to wake up. Jing woke up to the absence of Jabel. Jing heard Jabel walking on top of the cage as he woke up though, but he forgot all about that. Jing went directly upstairs because that is where he though Jabel was. Jabel wasn’t up there, but Jing was higher up than the cages and found Jabel. Jing jumped as far as he could to get onto the cage, and he made it.

Jing went up to Jabel and attempted to kick Jabel in his ribs, but Jabel wittingly hit the deck and grabbed Jings feet and pulled, tripping him and hitting the back of his head on the steel roof. Jabel quickly got up, then he jumped and dropped his knee to Jings neck. Jing made those noises of struggled breathing for a few seconds, but he kept getting up. After Jing got up, tried to hit Jing in the stomach with his katana, but Jing kicked the sword out of Jabels hands. Jabel was worried now, but he jumped down to get his katana. Jing followed Jabel as Jabel ran around trying to find his katana and avoid Jing at the same time

Jing finally caught up to Jabel, and wasted no time by continuously hitting Jabel in his face. Jabel finally had enough, he dropped to his aching knees and punched Jing in his groin as a desperate move. Jabel used that precious time with Jing on his knees grabbing his groin to find his sword. He found it right beside one of the cages. But when Jabel turned around, he saw Jing charging his way over his general direction. Jabel then, in fear, did the impossible. He ran so fast that he ran straight up the wall, with Jing still on his tail. Jabel stuck his katana in the back of his rags pointing down. Then Jabel stopped running up the wall and started to fall, but Jing was still running up the wall.

Jabels sword made contact with Jings shoulder, but that was Jabels worst mistake. Jing now had his own sword, and Jabels katana. Jabel did the right thing and ran for his life. Once he made his way onto the stage, Jing decided to end it fast with two stabs to the chest. Jabel did a back bend to dodge one sword, but the other one cut his ear. Jabel kicked Jings legs out from under him, and Jing hit his face onto the tree stump. Jabel collapsed from exhaustion, and he thought that this would be his last battle. But Jabel saw something, but his now blurry vision couldn’t make it out. But what was really happening, was that the woman that was supposed to be sacrificed had the axe in her hand, and she used all the courage that she had and used that axe to behead Jing.

It was all over, but Jabel needed to set the people of the town free. He tried to pick the lock with his sword, but it didn’t work. He tried using his power move, but Jabel didn’t have enough energy or strength. But he though of something, Jabel walked over to Jings body. He looked at the part of the neck that was attacked to the shoulders, the key around his neck was still there. Jabel took the key and used it on the locks, and it worked. Jabel let them free, cage by cage. He led down the hallway, he found the two guys Jabel fought off. Jabel picked their pockets and found those things that they through into the bushes for a portal. Jabel used those and threw them into the fire place in the middle of the room, and everyone followed him.

The portal went to Durina, Jings village. Jabel led them all back to their town from Durina. Jabel stayed there for one more week to recover, then he had to go back to his duties as the chosen one.
