Anime with best music

In your opinion what anime has the best music not just the best opening.

I think that Hell Girl has the best music of all the anime I have seen. Coming in at a close second is Ghost in the Shell followed by Cowboy Bebop.

Cowboy Bebop. Real Folk Blues, Tank!, and See You Space Cowboy. That's all you need.

Umm....that's it.

Have a mother ****er do "God Knows" in the style of Big Band Jazz and then we talk.

Re: Anime with best music

One Piece. It has a lot of pretty, orchestral background music.

It does wonders for the anime. The vast majority of Shounen anime have some annoying background music, One Piece doesn't really have any of that.

Here's one of the prettier ones (although it starts kind of weird. lol)

Whoever is composing One Piece's soundtrack deserves a lot more credit than they get, that is some great music.

But my favorite opening and ending goes to Monster:

(instead of being all pop and flashy the opening and ending creates a great atmosphere. That's how it should always be if you ask me.)

Holy ****, I love that One Piece theme. And though that opening part is quite jarring, it seemingly makes the later majestic tones much more significant. It's like, after suffering through a harsh storm, you open your eyes and see the sun slowly break out from the clouds, steadily repainting the world with deep strokes of color . . .

To be honest, when I first saw the thread title, Bebop was not the first thing that popped into my head: it was Code Geass. The roaring horns and James Bond level of over-the-top themes not just suited the series, but drove it forward and made even the most insignificant scenes enjoyable to watch.

I'd say Dragon Ball Z. The American soundtrack, mind you. The Japanese one sucks.

Gohan fights Frieza, Android 16's theme, Super Saiyan Vegeta, Super Namek, SSJ3 Theme, Gohan Powers Up, and Solid State Scouter are among the best. Check out Bruce Faulconer's music.

The only good thing about the Japanese soundtrack that they use orchestra music. Live orchestra music mind you.

The Suzumiya Haruhi soundtrack wasn't **** either. I thought it'll be nothing but J-Pop bull**** but it did had it share of jazz, rock, and orchestra music.

S-Cry-Ed also had a good soundtrack.

G-Gundam only because of the orchestra.

Re: Anime with best music

Cowboy Bebop is the obvious answer here. Yoko Kanno and The Seatbelts knocked that one out of the park.

Also worth a mention are Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex (Another Yoko Kanno soundtrack), Mushi-shi, and FLCL.

Re: Anime with best music

I didn't know that only the absolute #1 was allowed. Looks like this thread was named wrong. Can I get a mod to change the title to 'Cowboy Bebop has the best music of any anime and you shouldn't talk about any other anime or anime music in this thread'?

No, the name of the thread is "Anime with Best Music". We already know that is Cowboy Bebop. We can talk about animus with good, but lesser music, if you want to, though. FLCL is pretty high on that list.

Cowboy Bebop doesn't have annoying and **** J-Pop or J-Rock music. Therefore it deverses to be mention.

Neither does Monster.

But as I said earlier, I don't usually judge anime's music by its openings and endings. The background music is also very important, and that's why I think that One Piece should be up there among the best because the background music is very good.

Which is also why I said Haruhi Suzumiya and S-Cry-Ed's soundtrack was *****in' as well seeing they use orchestra music.

Re: Anime with best music

Cowboy Bebop has pretty awesome music, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Baccano! has almost equally good music. The opening theme alone is ALMOST Tank! level in terms of awesomeness.

I'd also have to say that FMA has some pretty nice music, as well:

Among others. I'm late for work x3

Mistress 9's Theme (Which I would use if I ever took over the world.)

****, I mean basically every theme that was use for the Death Busters/Witches Five were amazing just because it like pure evil.

The Outer Senshi theme is pretty boss as well:

Re: Anime with best music

does Waltz with bashir count as Anime?

Probably not, but it's got awesome music and is cell shaded beautifully and is universally culturally relevant to us as human beings and everyone should watch it because it will make them a slightly better person and in the event that it doesn't it might make them a tad bit smarter and if that doesn't happen either it will at the very least make you more cultured.

/run-on-sentence

a little culture never hurt anybody.

aside from that,

code Geass has a really great cello theme in it that goes

C4 - D3 - C#4 - A

quarter note, quarter note, roughly a whole note tied to a half note, double whole note

(depending upon what time signature you're in, but proportionally accurate. roughly quarter note gets 120 bpm )

tasteful vibrato, good tone.

...and stuff
