What anime did you find?

If you don't like what you are watching, just look up Cowboy Bebop, one of the best animes in existence.

My thoughts exactly.

Why not watch a sitcom or something maybe even a reality show.

You know what? I've had enough of this.

I listen to most of the anime I own in Japanese. I, nine times out of ten, vastly prefer it to the English dub.

Why? Because Japanese voice actors, on the whole, are better than English ones. Further, the animation was made to synch to Japanese, not English, making the dub translations more difficult than just subtitling something.

Further, even if the Japanese voice actors did a terrible job, I can't tell, so it doesn't annoy me.

There is nothing "obsessive fan"-ish about listening to something in its original language.

Why, exactly, are either of those superior to an anime show?

The way he's writing it, is just making us think the way we are. Sorry.

I'm not saying they'd be superior, but in a reality show, I think they're more likely to be using words and phrases that are commonly used now, instead of in anime, where, depending on the time period, could be using outdated language. Then again, I'm not expert on this, and was guessing it'd be better, but whatever. I suppose their is no difference. Just comparing it with an English cartoon vs. a English reality show, in the reality show they use common, currently in-use language, and are in situations most people are likely to encounter. Whereas in the cartoon, they aren't going to be really using words that you'll need to know.

I think you would probably get a more natural flow of conversation in a reality TV show, which would help his cause a little more.

Re: Anime

I'd have to agree with John. I find the Japanese Voices seem to be usually done better. It might be partly due to the fact the animators animate based on rough recordings of the audio (or so I think). Also, an annoying Japanese voice is just funny, an annoying American voice is just annoying. For example: Naruto.

Anyways, my favourite anime is Code Geass. The reason? Well, it's the only anime I've watched a significant amount of other than Full Metal Alchemist, Poke'mon, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and Sailor Moon and it's the only decent one out of them. The only reason I started watching it was because my anime obsessed friend considers it his "number 1 anime" and because he only watches complete crap I was very sceptical therefore surpassing my expectations greatly.

Re: Anime

DO IT ******, DO IT.

(don't expect me to be there for it though, money issues)

I can actually see the OP's point about having the anime be in the original language. The voice acting and actions seem more authentic in their native language than if they are dubbed. Hell, I know I prefer a good subbing to a dubbing. However, unlike the unwashed weaboo masses, I'm arguing that subbing is often better as it preserves the original acting as is. This goes for anything foreign, not just Japanese.
