The First Anime You Watched

Since I don't think Pokemon counts as real anime, I'd have to say Dragon Ball Z. The Frieza Saga and the Cell Saga were running on Cartoon network at the time, and I would watch them whenever I could.

After Dragon Ball Z stopped airing on Cartoon Network and the Pokemon TV series no longer was cool, I didn't watch anime for years until Rorouni Kenshin came out. I watched about a dozen episodes of that (good show!), but that's all the anime I've ever seen.

The first anime I watched was poke'mon, and if Pokemon was my first snort of the crack for kids that is anime then Dragonball Z is what really got me hooked! From then until about 14 years of age I was an all the time user. I can no longer stand Poke'mon, It sucks balls; Also Dragonball Z was the first anime that I discovered was an anime! I was 6 when I first watched Poke'mon and 8-12 When I watched DBZ. I still snort crack;

I mean watch anime.

Well technically the first anime I ever saw was Sailor Moon, back when it first came out, but I was way to young, and hadn't even heard the name 'anime' before. Then there's Pokemon, but it didn't get me into it, and I only liked the original.

Anyway, the anime that got my into, well, anime... was The Melencholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It was a while before it actually got me to watch more, but I eventually did, and Aquarion came next. After that it was STRAIN, some of xxxHOLiC (can't find the rest), Code Geass, and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

I'm not sure which was my first. Probably Pokemon though. If not, then most likely Sailor Moon, DBZ, or Yu-Gi-Oh. And OMG I LOVE YU-GI-OH. :3

The first anime I ever watched was probably Pokémon, but they over milked it too much, so then I stopped watching it.
The first anime that got me hooked on anime was Dragonball Z on good ol' Toonami (Cartoon Network), without a doubt. I watched it every single day and night. I remember all the sagas when they were new episodes in America. I remember watching the Saiyan Saga (or Vegeta Saga) with my brothers every night, Namek Saga, Captain Ginyu Saga, and Frieza Saga with my brothers every night a new episode was released (I still remember watching the episode where Goku goes Super Saiyan for the first time when the episode was new). I remember watching the Imperfect and Perfect Cell sagas with my brothers, and the Cell Games Saga with my brothers, and the Majin Buu Sagas, every night. I still have crystal clear pictures in my head of watching this show with them, I remember it so well! Every single saga was awesome. All the characters were awesome, the action was awesome, everything about this show was great! I still watch it to this very day, and play the videogames. I am still hooked on the show, I don't think I'll ever stop watching it, I think it is that good. DBZ is probably my favorite show of all-time, and it will never be beaten in my world. No joke.
After that, I also watched Dragonball and GT on Cartoon Network, and I am hooked on those too. My 3 favorite shows. I loved every single part of Dragonball, and every single part of Dragonball GT. I don't even know why some people hate GT, it's excellent.

I also watched Inuyasha, which I liked very much. Yu-Yu Hakusho was awesome too. Yu-Gi-Oh! was an awesome one too (Joey is the man XD!). I remember I used to play the card game all the time with my friends, and my brother got my Uncle Tim into Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, and he collects them, still. He has a lot of rare cards. (Oh, and he is a Zelda Fan too, he played the original when he was a kid, and now he knows where every single secret is by heart, and he can beat it in 45 minutes or so.)
Yu-Gi-Oh! was awesome. It started to get stupid after the original show was done though, with the release of GX, and now 5D's. Motorcycle duels? C'mon, that is SO gimmicky.

But yeah, the whole Dragonball franchise will always hold my #1 spot in my childhood memories. That, and Zelda. They're tied!

The first anime that I watched was the original Yu-Gi-Oh. I was 12 when it came to the U.S.

First anime... I think it was Pokemon, when I was about 6.

I think it was Pokemon, followed later by the infinately more enjoyable DBZ and Medabots.

I bloody love Medabots. If only I could find DVDs of it.

The first i watched was pokemon but i didn't follow the storyline, so a few years later i watched .hack//Legend of the Twilight awesom anime.
Note. that was also the first manga i read.

I watched Pokemon when I was really little.

But the first time I watched some real anime is a tie between Rurouni Kenshin and Dragonball Z, because I don't remember which one I watched first.

I know the first manga I read was Rurouni Kenshin, though.

Anyways, my first anime was Gundam *insert season*, I don't remember which one it was, but that is was awesome. It still is, and I really miss the older episodes of it.

Oh, and I guess I started watching Pokemon a little afterward, and began having those "Oh this would be so cool if it was real" dreams. I think I was like 7 or 8.

Pokemon, Is there any cooler?

Dragon Ball was the first anime I ever saw, it was really epic when I saw it because I was like 8.But I wasn't interested in anime until naruto came out.
Sounds pretty lame, and I don't really see naruto as a good anime anymore.

Dragonball Z, back when it aired very early in the morning. I never really had an understanding of what anime actually was, but after that I soon started to watch Inuyasha, (during the Toonami/Morning Sun era...) Tenchi Muyo, Rurouni Kenshin, Cowboy Beebop, Big-O, and others. Never really considered Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon to be anime, even though they are.

I think it was Dragon Ball Z or Pokémon. Gundam Wing also must have been an early one for me, but I can't remember if I got into that later than the others or not.

My first was probably pokemon, but my favorite was elfen lied.

To tell you the truth, Naruto. I do not know if it still is running or not however.

I read the manga online, and it is a lot better than the anime. I believe the series is over now though.

It was either Pokemon, or DBZ for me. Now I ignore Pokemon and watch mainly Viz, FUNimation, and ADV Films.
