The First Anime You Watched

Thinking back on things, I think the first Anime I watched and liked a lot was Ronin Warriors.

I don't remember what TV station it was on... it wasn't Cartoon Network. I don't think I had cable then. It was on early in the morning, so I didn't always see it, but I was happy when I was up early enough to watch. Sailor Moon was on right next to it, so I often watched it, too. This was when I was, oh, I'd guess 6 or 7.

At that time, I had no idea what "Anime" was, though.

At the time I had no idea what "anime" was, I just thought it was a cool show.

A year or two later I started watching Pokemon, and noticed that it was really similar to Sailor Moon (I figured they must've been done by the same company. Like the Flintstones and Jetsons.) Then I started watching Digimon and realized that this was a whole different art style.

I then tended to watch anime shows (mostly 'cause that's what was being shown for kids my age to watch on TV) until highschool, when I decided to join my school's anime club just to see what all this was about.

Haven't stopped being rather obsessed since.

i loved Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Mew Mew Power. but i didn't REALLY get into anime and such until after i watched Kiki's Delivery Service when I was younger. then i was like, yup, i'm going to be that fifteen year old girl who spends Study Hall reading manga comic books and drawing anime. huh? is that bad?

i still LOVE sailor moon, with a passion. i started hating Yu-Gi-Oh after they started making the stupid spin-off shows that included none of the original characters. I don't watch Pokemon anymore, i quit after Misty left. XD i don't play the games much anymore either, i wanna get back into it but i haven't yet. I still Love Mew Mew Power, but i haven't seen Dragon Ball or DBZ for YEARS. :*[ and i watch Hayao Miyazaki films ALLLL the time. my favorite is Princess Mononoke. ^-^

A great Anime that I'm surprised no one has talked about yet is Yu Yu Hakusho. There wasn't one season of that show that I hated =] and they ended it right before they started to ruin it by pulling crap out their asses and putting it in the story. =] (Unlike certain anime shows I know.........DBZ...... I'm thinking of YOU!")

Anyways, check it out. =] It used to come on Cartoon Network a lot but they didn't go through all the episodes and all the episodes were edited. So yeah, if any of you do decide to watch it, you'll want to watch the unedited versions. =] They have all the cussing and extra scenes. ^_^

The first anime-related thing I saw was Dragon Ball Z, and Sailor Moon.
I thought anime was ok, but it just wasn't the thing for me.. that is until I watched and read Deathnote.

Which ever one came first between Dragon Ball Z or Pokemon. Then the other followed it.

I'm pretty sure the first one I saw was Dragon Ball Z, but it could've been Digimon, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, or any other anime that was on YTV before it went all... Canadian.

Either Pokemon or Dragon Ball Z. I can't remember.

Back a long time ago, when Pokemon was Actually a good show, I watched it. However, now I watch Kappa Mikey, it is anime pretty much because it was made by a japanese guy and an american guy. It's pretty cool.

I remember watching Pokemon on Saturday mornings. And then I would stay up late at night and watch InuYasha on Cartoon Networks Toonami. Why did cartoon network ever take away Toonami? I thought it was good,

mine was dragon ball z on cartoon network, ahhhh good old days.

First it was Pokemon (way back in 1999) then it was either Dragon Ball or Trigun. I forget which.

In fact it was pretty much EXACTLY 10 years ago that I got into the Pokemon anime and games. That is insane.

My very first was Pokemon.
Shortly after that I got hooked to Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon.
Ya know, cartoon network stuff.
At the time, I didn't know it was "anime".

I'm not sure what the first anime I saw was, It could of pokemon or dragon ball z but I was young and didn't know what anime was and thought that they were regular cartoons. I think the show that really made me think this isn't a regular cartoon would have to be Tenchi Muyo and Gundam Wing. There was just something about them that felt different. I fell out of anime for about 5 years then I stated watching Peacemaker and Chrono Crusade about 5 years ago and from then on I been an avid fan. My collection consist's of Tenchi Muyo, Peacemaker, Chrono Crusade, Miami Guns, DNA2, Yami To Boushi To Han No Tabibito, Hell Girl, Mahburaho, Claymore, Solty Rei, Air Gear, Tenjho Tenge, Maze:The Mega Burst Space, Desert Punk, Medabots, Witchblade, Shakugan No Shana, Black Lagoon, Final Fantasy Unlimited, Birdy The Mighty, Shamanic Princess, Nerima Daikon Brothers, Voices of a distant Star, Placed Promised in Our Early Days, 5 Centimters per second, Mezzo and Mezzo Forte, Ghost in the Shell, Ex-Driver, Blade of the Phantom Master, there's more but i don't feel like typing the rest in its late.

Pokemon, probably. But the first anime I watched to (near) completion with the actual knowledge that it's in anime is Death Note, subtitled, back in early 2007. Before all the emos got into it.

The very first one I watched was Vampire Hunter D. I remember they made a video game for the Playstation, but I never got a chance to play it.
