She's the only one that didn't have a life changing field trip with Zuko

Maybe that's why i like the idea of them winding up together! By only one what characters are you referring to?

Katara, Aang and Sokka.

Personally I wouldn't mind a different Avatar storyline involving completely different that happened long before Avatar Aang. Mostly because they opened up such a large Universe with countless stories that could be told. I would like to see alot more.

But thats probably just me

If you are talking about the 'life alternig' experience with Zuko, it was during the Boiling Rock Episodes

I wouldn't mind seeing something with the very first Avatar.

You know i just realized something. Aang is supposedly the last airbender right? So if he dies and doesn't pass on the Airbender gene the Avatar cycle will eventually be broken.

i don't know that they should make a 4th season. I would prefer it if they released a comic or something showing what the world was like 20 years later or something. That way it doesn't look like they're trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of it.

And seriously, what melon guy? I don't recall there ever being a melon sales person. Unless you mean the crabby old lady trying to tell Katara that you can hear the juice sloshing around in a ripe melon.

Not necissarly. If Aang dies, a new Avatar would be born. And Avatar controlls all four elements. If the next Avatar were to have a child, I think it would be a wild card as to what element of bender it would be.

This brings up an interesting question...

was it ever explained if ordinary people could learn multiple Bending abilties?

Iroh was able to adapt techniques from the Waterbending into a defensive move(redirecting lightning) Whats stopping them from pushing it further?

Because only the Avatar can learn all the elements, since his reincarnating soul was blessed by the Earth or some other such hippie voodoo. The other citizens of that world aren't quite as lucky

I belive it was said that he is called the Avatar because he is the spirit of the planet in human form or something. Lightning is part of firebending for some reason.
Koulatio: What i'm saying is that if Aang's already dead there won't be anyone to teach the next avatar airbending. Several centuries after that the cycle will be broken because there aren't any more airbenders left. Unless there are others that we don't know about!

Couldn't Aang technicaly spirit bend up some Airbenders? Like, just put his hands on their chakras or whatever, zap 'em, and badda bing there you go

I wanna get the four nation symbols tattooed across the back of my neck in the order Aang learned them.

My favorite character is Sokka because of the way he matures during the series.

But they weren't born knowing these techniques. In fact each nation at the begining didn't have a damned clue about Airbending, Firebending and such.

Each learned it from an animal. The Air Nomads learned Airbending from the Flying Bison, the Earth Benders learned it from those Giant Moles, and Fire Nation from the Dragons. I think the Water Benders learned from the Moon Spirit and the whole Yin and Yang thing. *shrugs*

But point is, there was nothing genetic or anything. They simply observed the animals at work and learned from them.

It just doesn't seem like its something your born with, well except for Avatar but he is born with all the experience of his past lives.
