The Death Note thread

Well, I don't see any threads like this, so I'm making one.
discuss.
Light and L come up with some crazy and smart plans.

This should be in Anime/Manga.

I love that show, but, it seems a little too popular now.

I don't mind it being so popular, I just don't want the fangirls in the mix.
Fangirls can be annoying, there were a few in my class last year that were fangirls of death note.

I finished the manga recently. I am unable to understand why anyone would support L.

Yeah, I definately liked Light way more than L.

I liked L more than Light. Light's head was way too inflated. Of course, Near's more awesome than both of them. Near > Mello > L > Light.

Near's head was also inflated. There's nothing wrong with an inflated head, as long as you use it productively.

I thought the ending was awesome. How in the end it was the shinigami who wrote down his name

I really liked L. Did not like Near or Mello.

His grinning face in the eyes of his dying father was just awesome.

In all honesty, I thought Light was brilliant and should have won. Sure his methods were questionable within society, but tell me: If you had the Death Note, would you REALLY hold onto your morals and refrain from using it? that is not something you can answer without experience. (Yes that includes me too) As Trent Reznor says in Capital G: "Don't try to tell me power can corrupt a person, you haven't had enough to know what it's like"

I really disliked Near. I would have preferred it if the final showdown had ended with Light and L. Near was just a pathetic (yet somehow successful) attempt to fill in a replacement for L

When it all comes down to it, it is matter of opinion on who the winner should be/should have been. But what good are our opinions if we can not argue over them?

Sadly to those who hate fanboyishness, the characters I liked were the mainstream ones: L, Light and Ryuk.


Characters I despised/did not care for:

Near, Misa, Mello, Matsuda

Yeah....L was awesome. Truly someone I could relate to. (not necessarily appearance wise, but personality wise.)

Since I have probably stirred up a hornets nest with my opinion, let the arguing commence! (It would not be the first death note argument I have been in...)

It is good to see we have someone who agrees with Light's methods. It is beyond annoying how people are constantly going on with how "murder is wrong", even if it is to make a better world.. Odd, because people like that really shouldn't be watching Death Note in the first place...
