Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is basically the greatest anime ever made. It's hot-blooded, manly, and just completely awesome. Each episode is filled with balls-to-the-wall action. Every second of every episode is raw awesome.

Oh right you want to know what the show is about. It's a mecha anime. Giant robots fight other giant robots in manly duels to the death. The robots start off somewhat small but the final episode features two robots LITERALLY the size of a galaxy going at it. Seriously, the creators released official stats on how big these two mechs are and if I remember correctly, they're each 3,500,000 km tall. So yeah.

Eventually the action gets so insane that the robots are able to literally throw black holes like frizbees. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is set in a world where black holes can be physically held in one's hands and then thrown.

The characters are super manly. That guy up on the left in the poster is pretty cool. His name is Kamina and he's the soul brother of the main character, Simon. Simon is the guy in the middle. But Simon is the one who becomes a true badass. In fact, Simon grows up to be the most badass character in anime history. He literally becomes supreme commander of the known universe. That's pretty badass. And he spouts off amazing lines such as "with each passing second, our burning passion and red-hot resolve increases exponetionally! That is how a drill works! Just who the hell do you think we are?!" Oh and "I am one man rivaling the Gods. I am equal to heaven and earth. My hands shape the universe. Now let me show you the power of mankind!"

Basically it's the greatest anime ever made and you should watch it immediately.

ANYWAYS.

Yes, this is an EPIC anime. Giant mechs, sacrifice, fighting for what you believe, making the impossible, well, possible... this anime is all about spirit. If this anime can't get you pumped up, well then, you must be lacking in fighting spirit.

For the record, Kamina is THE badass. Simon's great and all, but Kamina is the driving force behind everything; it's not 'till the last couple of episodes that Simon reaches the level of spirit and force that Kamina already had.
Then again, Simon is Kamina's reason for fighting, so it's a mutual relation, I suppose.

Kamina: Weather it's laughable or impossible, great men open up the paths of battle!
Simon: If there's a wall in our way, we'll break it down! If there's no path, we'll carve one with these hands!
Both: Our hearts magma burns violently with flames! Ever-lasting combination, Gurren Lagann!
Simon: Who...
Kamina: All of you...
Both: THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE?!

Kamina: Remember, Simon. Believe in yourself. Not you, who believes in me. Not me, who believes in you. Believe in you, who believes in yourself!
Simon: Aniki...
Kamina: Certain Kill!

Kamina: Giga...Drill...Breaaaakeeeer!!!

Kamina: Farewell, my comrades.
Simon: Aniki?

Simon: On that day, we lost something, that could never be replaced.

Good and fun, but flawed.

Gurren Lagann is epic. Not the greatest anime ever, but it ís my sixth favorite anime though.

And if I remember correctly, the mecha's get even bigger than being able to throw black holes. Didn't they actually throw galaxies at eachother at some point.

It's crazy and amazing.
