It was a horrible, flat out lie, and everybody knew it. She should be ashamed of herself for even thinking she could pull that off, and even thinking that it was a good idea to betray Naruto like that.

Seriously, this is exact act greatly pissed me off when I was reading Ranma 1/2!

I don't think it was honest either, and I say this knowing I may get flamed by SakuNaru shippers. She's saying it because she does care about him enough to not let him chase after sasuke just because of her. But I doubt she's in love with him. I don't buy it any more than Naruto does.

But she could have pulled it off if she'd done it three years ago. Naruto was different then and, I for one, believe Naruto would have accepted the confession then, even with all the Sasuke bull that happened.

And to be honest, I'm happy Sakura is finally doing something half-way intelligent. I mean, it's super late, and she's going about it the wrong way, but she's showing a single molecule of intelligence and I am proud that our stupid piece of crap is finally becoming a piece of crap.

Is it just me, or is just history repeating itself (but for the better). Ok, yes we have the three Sanin students, however Tsunade was always too late to tell Jiraiya how she felt for him. When they were Jonins in the the rain country (right before they met Pain & friends) Tsunade asked what Jiraiya was going to do. He said he'd continue traveling and writing his book. She looked depressed when she heard that. She wanted him to come back to Konoha to have a greater chance of having a romantic relationship. It sort of makes you think, what has Tsunade been doing for the past few years before she met Naruto. Drinking and gambling sure, but could that be seen as a form of depression of not confessing to Jiraiya sooner? She did before Jiraiya left to fight Pain, however by that time it was too late and another loved one of hers had died.

Sakura's emotions may be authentic. But this time history repeats itself with the girl not being quiet for too long. And even if this was a trick, I'd have to agree with Shikamaru in saying that Sasuke has to be killed by the Leaf to not start any revenge battles that could result to war. So in the end (love or not), Naruto will face Sasuke again.

You guys know why I love Naruto? It's because, since the beginning, Saucegay had been the center of attention, making Naruto the lesser character. In a way, this forces you to sympathize and love Naruto more than any other character, but in a good way. Such an unpredictable way of portraying the main character

How was Sasuke the center of attention in the beginning? Yes he was a main character, but so was Suckara. lol.

^Naruto was always the stupid kid who couldn't succeed, and Sakura was always a ***** to him while she and the others admired the hell out of Saucegay who wasn't that impressive to begin with.

All we needed to see was that Naruto gift box. Not needed the last Sasuke temper. Friend.

Sakura, unfortunately, continues to be used as a plot device for Naruto, instead of as a character in her own right.
