Re: Manga collection
I've got 3 of Black Lagoon and plan to get more, but I've been debating rather or not to start getting Claymore. I've heard nothing but good things but I just haven't been able to bring myself to buy it.

Re: Manga collection
I'm not going to tell you to get Claymore but I will advise getting it, its my favorite manga. The art style is awsome, the story is great, and there is almost non-stop action. If you're not sure if you should get it then you should just read the first three to see if you like it and go from there.

Re: Manga collection
It's funny you say that, as that's my usual practice. I'll get the first two (or three if I'm convinced it's going to be good) volumes and if I like them enough I'll start working on the whole series. As you can see above that's what happened with Ai Yori Aoshi, Chibi Vampire, Love Hina, Chobits, I luv halloween, +Anima, Psychic Academy, Psychic Academy, Spiral, Scott Pilgrim, and Rave Master. And Rosario Vampire manga which I have about five volumes in the mail.

Re: Manga collection
Most are bargain bin buys so I go ahead and get them. Worse comes to worse I can just sell them back for a three or four dollar profit. My local bookstore knows nothing of Manga worth and they usually end up selling well known titles for four or five dollars.

Re: Manga collection
I've seen the anime and couldn't get into it honestly. But, if all they have is an edited version then I probably want and unedited one. They wouldn't edit it if it didn't have anything to see. And thank for the compliment.

Dear lostleader
Its was very nice of you to post your manga collection, it is very extensive and pretty to look at. As I was looking over your pictures I saw quite a few Battle Royals and I was wonderinng if you could tell me what the story is like, I have been wondering if I should start getting it or not. Re: Manga collection
Very nice Lostleader. How is Battle Vixens and Tsubusa? I have volume one of Tsubusa and have liked it thus far but haven't been able to find anymore. The same goes with Trigun Maximum five through twelve, though my bookstore does have thirteen.

Mine's pretty sad compared to everyone elses. It'll expand dramatically once I get a job, but so far I'm just using the library for my manga fix.

Re: Manga collection
Dear LightHawk,
It's a 'canonical' continuation of Angel: The Series, the television show that ran on the WB from 1999-2004. A 'season six' if you will. The story is by series creator Joss Whedon and comic book/screenplay writer Brian Lynch, the script is all Lynch. It picks up several months after the finale of the tv series. It is quite good, but probably only going to make a lot of sense if you watched the show. Your pal, -nolan |

Re: Manga collection
Dear LightHawk,
Angel is a television series spin-off of the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, though it is not extremely necessary to one in order to follow the other. It helps in some instances, but for the most part the shows remain separate. Angel is the lead and title character (obviously), and is a vampire. Except unlike most, or all vampires, Angel was cursed and now has a soul, and as such is one of the 'good guys,' though tormented by the actions he performed while soulless. He goes to Los Angeles and somewhat accidentally finds himself opening up a Private Detective agency with the help of some old and new friends, specializing in paranormal investigation, mostly. It is an ensemble show, with an exceptionally strong cast. David Boreanaz is Angel, and it also stars Charisma Carpenter, Alexis Denisoff, Glenn Quinn, J. August Richards, Amy Acker and more. It is one of my most favouritest shows ever. I highly recommend it. Yours truly, -nolan |
