[Power Shot] Synyx's Training
OoC: 373 words. I know it's not a very good post; I'm not good at introductions. But, that's what you're here for!
![]() BiC:Synyx awoke in a cave; the sky was sunny and the air was cool. It seemed a perfect day for him to hunt some big game. He placed on what little armor he had, put on the Xicarta, made sure Xangatsu was in place, and started out of the part-time dwelling. He spotted a mountain goat leaping from rock to rock gracefully, and thought it would make a good meal. It looked lean and alert, though, so it would be hard to catch. Synyx tried to copy the animal’s movements, jumping up, getting higher and higher, while trying to be as silent as possible. He finally reached a flattened part in the mountain. The goat was standing atop a smooth, flat rock. It stared at him. Synyx tried to place his foot down slowly, but he loosened a stone and caused a good deal of noise when he attempted this. And it stared at him. At this point, Synyx was very confused. He knew for a fact that any animal would have retreated from him by now, but this one just stayed still, in plain view. He decided to take a few more steps toward the animal. It stood stock still. Now Synyx walked up right in front of the goat and took out Xangatsu. The mountain goat then leapt from the rock and up a rough hill. It was an odd hill, only slanted on either side so that you could walk, but the center was covered in large boulders. It stood at the top of the center, just behind the loose boulders. Still confused as to why the mountain goat wasn’t running away, but instead stopped and looked at him, Synyx stepped forward onto the smooth rock. The boulders on the hill rolled away and revealed a large door. Synyx looked down at the rock he was standing on. Carved into it were the words, “Υποδοχή στο θόλο! Παρακαλώ προχωρήστε μέσω της πόρτας.” Translated from Greek, it means, “Welcome to the Dome! Please proceed through the door.” Synyx looked up in amazement. “The Dome,” he said in disbelief. The mountain goat was gone. He walked through the door, thinking it was fate to follow that animal up to where he stood. OoC: Yes, Synyx understands Greek. Edit: I swear, I had ABSOLUTELY no idea you were in Greece when I wrote that. ![]()

Synyx walked through the door. He had entered an exquisite room, filled with suede armchairs, polished tables that seemed to have been made of the darkest, purest chestnut wood he had ever seen, and breathtakingly life-like portraits of people unfamiliar to him. These had been framed in pure gold, which had beautiful and perfectly symmetrical designs on it. On the bottom of each frame was flawlessly centered writing (Synyx had gathered that they were the names of the portraits’ subjects, for he noticed the short brown hair and dark blue eyes of Hochgender Adler with his name under it). Synyx, before he had actually taken time to appreciate everything, noticed a portrait of himself suddenly appear. When he glanced in that direction before, there was nothing; but once he turned away and checked again, there it was, in the exact same fashion as the others. “I see,” he thought aloud. “These are portraits of the people who are part of The Dome.”
The room was a large rectangle, with the edges rounded. At the end began a hallway, shaped as a semicircle with a twenty foot wide floor acting as the diameter. It went straight forward for about twenty yards, where you could either make a sharp turn left or right. The wall that the hallway would lead you to if one walked straight had a marble pedestal; on it was a light blue vase, with intricate thin green lines covering the surface. Synyx looked down the hallway suspiciously, for he thought he heard a noise. At first, he did not believe what he saw: the mountain goat! It was jumping around the vase, and Synyx, not wanting it to fall, ran to stop the animal. As he approached the vase, it was tapped by one of the animal’s hind legs and started to fall. Synyx dove for the vase and caught it just before it hit the ground. He put it back down on the pedestal quickly but carefully, and turned, only to see the goat dashing down the right hallway. What a reckless animal. I should stop it before it causes any damage. And so began the chase. Synyx kept close behind the goat, running through hallway after hallway, turn after turn. Quite an odd design. It’s as if this place is a maze. It was close to it. There were always multiple paths, though none of them ever led to a dead end. The portraits continued on and on through the hallways. I suppose The Dome isn’t as secluded as I thought. Synyx was closing in on the goat now. He could sense the animal was tiring. Synyx took his chance at one of the turns. He lunged at the goat and successfully tackled it. “Gotcha!” Or so he thought. The goat had quite a kick, and Synyx took a blow to the stomach. He caught his breath and continued the pursuit, but at last he came to a hallway with a grand door at the end. It took up the entire space of the wall. The goat was lying down, and a white translucent figure was stroking its chin. Synyx could only figure it was a ghost. Feeling a bit unsafe, he put his hand on Xangatsu’s holder. The being proceeded to look up at Synyx and speak. “How dare you be so rough with this animal! The poor thing. Do you have any idea how fearful you’ve made him? Or any common sense whatsoever? What could possibly have made you chase this innocent animal, who did nothing to harm you in the first place? Unbelievable!” OoC: 600 words exactly. I think this was a very good post, despite it being a month "late." ...Sorry about that. ![]()
