Assignment 15: Exploring Wisp's room

---- Arena #4 ----

UZ was her opponent in here, but she could not move around to check where he was at. Wisp felt her body go limp as she fainted in the sandy ground of Arena #4.

---- Wisp’s Burrow ----

The shapeshifter came to in her burrow. “Uh…wh-where am I?” The rabbit looked around in kind of a shock, due to where she knew she was at earlier. She shook her head suddenly. “Why am I dizzy? Also, why did I freeze up in there?”

The dizzy spell that grabbed her sent her body into a shudder, as if she was cold. After a moment the rabbit began to move again, she leapt down off of her bed, and headed outside of her burrow entrance. A gray orb formed around her then grew larger, the rabbit girl stood up. As she did, the dizziness hit her again. Why is this happening?

Wisp looked out to the marshland forest beyond the cliff edge. She sighed, “I’m going to have to get over the cliff if I want to see what’s beyond it.” The shapeshifter walked over to the four ‘bushes’ that lined the cliff, which where actually trees that grew into the cliff side. Looking down, she flinched and stepped back. Shaking her head, the teal-clad female stepped forwards and leapt off, and fell about five feet until she stopped.

Sky Pillar had formed a plank underneath her feet, without Wisp even trying to form it on her own. She blinked, “A safety net? Wow.” The novice air and shadow user continued her descent, stopping every five feet, until she landed on the ground. Turning around, the shapeshifter noticed that the tree branches varied from left to right.

The left most tree had branches that were close together, but far apart enough for someone to stand on them. On the exact opposite extreme, the right most tree’s branches were widely spaced apart. The cliff wall wasn’t as varied as the trees, however. It had various nooks and shelves spread throughout the cliff side, with various cracks that could be used to climb up as well. The wall was a tan-ish white in color, with streaks of brown running through it.

“Hm, the trees look like they were designed to have various levels difficulty. Beginner to a challenging type of level,” she muttered. Wisp looked at the tree line now, it was guarded by small palm trees, whose leaves looked like spears to block any advancement into the marshland.

The rabbit girl wasn’t bothered by them, and easily moved past the barrier and wandered around widely spaced pine trees and ancient palm trees, whose leafy tops craned into the sky. Every once in a while she saw a willow tree, whose leaves dipped into the various down to the leaf dotted, dark brown colored dirt floor. Eventually, she came out into a meadow which was lined with a murky brown river. Wisp noticed among the various grasses, sawgrass poking in various spots in the tree line. In the distance, she noticed a stone type of building. It looked run down and she thought she saw claw marks etched into the walls. The roof of the grayish brown stone building as flat and scarred by rainwater.

Re: [Zorolo] Wisp's Training

Assignment Time:

Have Wisp investigate that building further, looking for something... anything that she can think of to look for in it. After she finishes exploring, or finds something interesting, suddenly the building will get very cold and a door to Zachary's room will appear out of nowhere. Have Wisp go through the door and follow a track of footprints. Snow will lightly fall when she enters, but not enough to effect the footprints... much. End your post with Wisp seeing a thick cloud of mist and a figure she thinks is Zachary. 800 words.

Assignment 16: Strange Occurence

Wisp looked at the building from across the river, and saw a couple of rocks jutting out of the rushing water’s surface. They looked flat enough to cross, but then again, the shapeshifter can make her own path across it. She leapt up into the air, and hopped from pole to pole using Sky Pillar. Once she felt safe with the height, which was five feet off the ground, she shifted the pole into the plank version and walked across the river. The rabbit girl kept her eyes on the river, in case of predators. Ever since I saw that snake in Zorlo’s room, I need to be cautious. I have no clue what lives here, if anything else does.

After a while, she hopped down to the opposite shoreline. The worn, stone building was a lot bigger than when she first saw it. The scars from the rainwater, which were large gashes in the rock, on the roof looked as if the building was here many years at least. The walls of the building were bumpy in a way, as if it was made by breaking of large chunks of rock and just placing them together. The claw marks were imbedded into the walls along the entrance, the creature that made them had to be really strong.

Something about the building seemed to peak her curiosity, but she was still wary of it. The teal-clad female looked down and saw slightly bowed steps leading into the darkness inside of the stone building. She slowly walked down the stairs, holding her arms out a bit to keep her balance. After eleven steps down, she came to a dimly lit room, and saw what appeared to be a doorway. As she walked towards it the air began to cool down slightly. The shapeshifter shrugged it off and stepped through the threshold.

Wisp could barely see her hand in front of her face now, but something kept nudging at her to continue forwards. A crashing sound caused her to fire off an Air Shot in the direction of the sound. The rabbit girl heard it impact off to her right, but nothing stirred. Her ears perked up now, and kept swiveling around. The darkness was causing her eyes to hurt now. She blinked for a moment, then was able to see a bit more in the room, but not enough to help her.

The shapeshifter started to walk in the direction she was facing, and wandered into a new room entirely. This room had one torch, which looked as if it would burn out at any moment. It didn’t give off much light, but it was enough for her to see a little better with. When she turned around, she realized that the door way had vanished! Ok, where did the door go? Hearing a sound behind her, the teal-clad turned back to see that the torch had disappeared as well, replaced with another doorway. “Am I going in circles now?!” She held her head for a moment as a dizzy spell had grabbed her.

As she entered the room, it got a lot colder. Wisp nearly growled at herself, “I forgot my jacket. Great…just great.” A strange breeze picked up and blew past her, as it hit the wall, a familiar door formed. The door was made out of blue ice, it was Zachary’s door. “Oh great, now I really need my jacket… too late to go back now though.” The shapeshifter reluctantly opened the door to her teacher’s room, and headed inside.

Zachary’s room had a gentle snowfall, but it didn’t help the rabbit girl any. She slowly took a couple of breaths, At least moving will keep me warm, a little. The teal-clad female looked around the room and saw footprints in the snow. She was slightly shivering now, but she had to continue. The footprints lead in the same direction she was facing, the novice air and shadow user hopped up onto a plank and followed it. This time the tracks did not lead uphill, but into a valley of some kind. The snowfall began to thicken and cover the tracks a bit, but she kept going.

Wisp could feel how cold it was, but ignored it to the best of her ability. Her light tan skin on her arms was starting to pale. The dizzy spell hit her again, but refused to budge now. The snowfall seemed to aid the ‘spinning room’ type of effect, but the rabbit girl did not move. It left again, What is causing that to happen anyway? In the distance, fog was starting to roll in.

As the shapeshifter got closer, she could see someone, just barely in the fog-like mist. I hope that’s Zachary. She shuddered a bit, but ignored it again.

Re: [Zorolo] Wisp's Training

The thick mist wasn't a natural one. The mist was what is sometimes referred to as the "fog of war." An unnatural fog had been formed from the battle within. As the young metamorph entered the thick fog, she was taken aback by what she saw. Within the dark blue fog, her Master was surrounded by five of the ice knights. Zachary didn't hold Mobius, but instead, he held a replicated ice sword, fashioned in the image of the ones the ice knights held. The red haired boy held the sword tightly, his breath fully visible as his body quaked slightly, unnerved by what was going on.

Zachary tightened his hands around the ice sword as one of the ice knights rushed forwards, slashing its sword at him. The ice mage raised his sword quickly, blocking the attack and pushing it away with all the force he could muster. The firebrand swung his sword out to the side before swiping the blade across the center of the ice knight. The weapon crushed it way through the monster clearly, visible cracks and breaks instead of a cut were present on the creature as it fell to pieces.

The red haired warrior turned quickly, swinging his seemingly heavy long sword to block an oncoming attack from his foe, the blade of his sword hitting the ice knight's sword before both broke at half way. The ice warrior leapt backwards and closed his eyes, holding his hands as if he were holding a sword, and quickly formed a new sword. The weaponless ice knight ran forwards to attack with its fist, but quickly met Zachary's sword.

The blade cleaved through the arm, cutting it in half. Zachary spun quickly and slashed his blade, cutting the monster in half down the middle before the sword cracked and fell apart. Zachary turned quickly, suddenly finding a sword pushed through his abdomen as blood dripped out of his mouth. Zachary's eyes flashed with anger as he held his hand out again and formed a dagger, stabbing it into the ice knight's helmet and forcing the creature to step back, allowing the ice innate to remove the sword from his side and step back.

"This can't be the end..." he whispered, his vision getting slightly blurry, one from the use of his magic, the second from the several wounds he had received. "I won't let it be," he said boldly, standing up and trying to form another sword.

OoC: There we go. You're post was good, Wisp-chan.

Assignment Time:

Emergency time! Zachary is in trouble, surrounded by three ice knights, one of which is wounded. Zachary is wounded, his vision is going, and he's expending a lot of magic creating weapons. If he's left to fight alone, he will die. Have Wisp lend him what aid she can. End your post with the last knight being destroyed. No word count this time, just make sure your post is interesting. ^_^

Assignment 17: Anger Rising

(OoC: First appearance of the skill, Monster.)

Something twitched in Wisp’s mind, she suddenly felt as if she was burning up, it was her anger. The only thought running through her head was to get rid of the Ice Knights. Before she could think about how to help Zachary, the rabbit girl charged the remaining ice warriors, letting a gray pole smash into one of their helmets. The helmet nearly shattered, but this caused the other two to turn and face her.

One charged the shapeshifter, holding its sword up in a slash attempt as the two came towards each other. The teal-clad female growled and let a horizontal Gale Edge fly. The sword easily cut through it, then came back in a recoil, which she ducked under. Wisp barely had time to react as its elbow rammed into her head.

She fell to the ground, and saw as Zachary tried to make another sword, but was grabbed by the wounded Ice Knight. The world faded to black, but she still felt as if she was burning still, I have to help. I want to keep fighting, but I can’t… Darn!

A gray orb formed around the rabbit girl, which intercepted a sword stab and then broke the blade. The fog-like sphere grew a little larger and faded away. A large rabbit took her place, it flicked its now dark gray glowing ear, and a trio of spikes jutted out from around the attacking ice behemoth. They slammed into the ice warrior, which cracked into its armor and slowly fell apart.

The large rabbit had the same fur color as Wisp’s rabbit form, but the center of her spiral markings held a spike. Two were on her head, one was pointed forwards, the other bent back on an angle and followed the spine. A similar one was on her back, but a lot larger. There was also one spike on each of the rabbit’s paws. It’s eyes were a hazel-ish red, and seemed to glow slightly.

Zachary had managed to cleave the Ice Knight’s arm but the sword shattered before he could guard a downward stab. He jumped back in time though, as a dark gray spike impaled the creature. “It looked like you needed help there,” the voice was from the large rabbit, it seemed to carry some annoyance in it. Grinning and showing the inch long fangs that lined the spiked rabbit’s mouth, it swiped its right fore paw and sent three Gale Edges out at once, which nearly severed the last Ice Knight’s arms.

Its hand fell off, and the rabbit glanced over at the wounded ice mage, “You can finish him off, if you want.” The bloodied mage formed another sword and ran it through the armored body of the Ice Knight, which fell apart after being tapped by a gray pole. “Are you going to be ok there, you look bad.”

Re: [Zorolo] Wisp's Training

Everything seemed wrong. Sight, sound, and smell were all distorted. Everything was foggy, and words and sounds didn't seem to fit what was going on. A large, brown monster stood before the ice mage, and, although it had helped destroy the ice knights, the ice warrior wasn't sure. He held his hands out and created one more sword. "Monster... I won't... be... slain..." he told the creature as he stepped forwards, dragging the sword along the ground and falling forwards, passed out.

Assignment Time:

Zachary's suffered a lot of heavy wounds and has now passed out. He seems to be fine, but its hard to tell if he's in a dangerous position. Have Wisp decide what to do with him, and after she decides and goes through with her plan, go to a little while later when Zachary wakes up. Have her tell him what happen, and end your post with her description of what she remembers happening. Again, no word minimum.

Assigment 18: Focused Healing

(OoC: First use of her healing skill, Breeze Feather.)

The large rabbit watched as the ice mage fell, “Well, he knows my name at least. I guess I have to leave now… Darn it…” it stated before a gray sphere appeared around it. The rabbit girl came back and hit the snowy ground, but she didn’t stay long. She woke up almost immediately and glanced around franticly, her eyes finally falling to where Zachary laid.

Wisp was near him, but she crawled closer in a panicked worry. I-I hope he isn’t… She gently touched the side of his neck and felt a pulse, but it was kind of weak. The shapeshifter didn’t have time to sigh in relief, she had to help him. She was sitting on her legs next to him, and looking at the stab wound on his back. The rabbit girl looked a little upset, “How…can I help him? I don’t even have a healing skill…” She pounded her left fist against her leg. I have to do something though, I can’t just sit here!

The problem now was, how to use a healing skill she doesn’t have. The teal-clad female took a quick breath and let her body go limp somewhat, Just concentrate… She felt the wind pick up and the snow fall onto her, but the feeling vanished. The wind seemed to stop, she held her hands close to his wound and opened her eyes. They were dull and lifeless for some reason, but she could see what was around her. Some line was spinning around in front of her like a spiral, and it picked up speed in its movement. The line slowly began to look like a gray wall.

She looked down and saw a part of Zachary’s wound starting to close up. Wisp could not see that her hands were glowing a light gray now.

----- Later ----

It seemed like years had passed, but it was actually an hour. The rabbit girl looked like a statue, she hadn’t moved since she started whatever was spinning around the two of them. Not knowing that it was a large circle that was guarding them from the actual blizzard outside of it, she watched as the wound was almost fully closed. The shapeshifter heard a low moan as Zachary began to come to again, her hands automatically dropped back onto her lap. He turned onto his back and opened his eyes quickly.

“Wh-Where is it?” The wind and shadow mage’s eyes were still dull, as the circle was around them.

“Where’s what, Zachary?” She asked, her voice sounded as it was coming from a distance, yet she was almost sitting next to him.

“That brown thing…” his voice trailed off, then looked down at his wound, which was a third of the way closed. Wisp’s healing skill had seeped through to try and close that wound as well. The ice mage put his left hand over it, and looked at his student. “Wisp, your eyes are a little strange, are you ok?”

“I didn’t see any brown thing, and I’m fine.” Somehow she was able to keep the circle up, as protection against the blizzard outside of it. “I was worried about you, but I kind of didn’t manage to help you that much, I’m sorry.” The rabbit girl’s ears tilted downward at the last statement.

He shook his head as if he was dizzy, “What happened here?”

“All I know is this; you were surrounded by Ice Knights and managed to destroy most of them, except for three.” She took a shallow breath and continued, “One stabbed you in the stomach, and that’s when I started to attack them. I nearly destroyed one’s helmet with Sky Pillar’s pole, and I charged then, and one of the Ice Knights mimicked me.” She paused again and looked at Zachary, who was looking at his progress on the wound. “I attacked first with a Gale Edge, and it countered with two sword slashes. It hit me in the head, I think with it’s elbow. I then saw you defend yourself, but you were grabbed. Then I guess I fainted.” The shapeshifter finally stopped her recall of what had happened, “That’s all I know.”

Zachary looked around for a moment at the gray ‘wall’. “What is this?”

Wisp closed her eyes for a second and opened them again, “ It’s called Breeze Feather. It’s a healing skill I have.”

Re: [Zorolo] Wisp's Training

Zachary stood up, his eyes glowing slightly, as magical energy pulsed from his hand and began to repair his wounds. The ice innate smiled at the wind mage and rested his right hand on her shoulder. "It's a nice technique, but don't burn yourself out," he told her, smiling as the barrier began to vanish, but the blizzard continued to be redirected by something. "After all, I can control ice with great ease."

Zachary turned and smiled at Wisp, wondering how in the world she knew he was in danger. Recalling what Zorlo told him about the Dome, the ice innate let that question go to rest and he continued to repair his wound, it nearly healed by this point. "I came here to look into the cavern that the Ice Knights are coming out of. Inside of it, there are all kinds of strange things. I think the Ice Knights are hiding something of value in there. That, or something is creating them, although autonomous golems have been known to exist," the Ice Elemental said as he shrugged his shoulders.

"What's a golem?" she asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion at his thought.

"A golem is an artificial being created of something. In the case of the Ice Knights, ice is the medium, but anything can be used, and they can take any shape. They're a very interesting kind of creature, since generally they're controlled by something, but occasionally they have a mind of their own. I think these are autonomous golem."

"So they're animated ice?" she asked.

Zachary smiled and nodded. "Wisp... I want you to come with me next time I go into that cave. You see, my sword, Mobius, is still in there, so I need to get it back. Also, I want to know what's in there. So, what do you think. Want to come?"

OoC: That's a good set up. ^_^

Assignment Time:

With Zachary's offer, if Wisp chooses to accept it, have the two head off to rest and recover their strength. Have Wisp reflect on all of her encounters with the Ice Knights and try to come up with an idea on how to help Zachary deal with them. Zachary, having no weapon, will be creating his own in the upcoming mission, but that's not yet. End your post with Wisp falling to sleep. Again, no word minimum. ^_^

Assignment 19: A Moment of Recovery

Wisp’s eyes became bright again when Breeze Feather faded away. “Well, you were out for a while and I didn’t want the blizzard to bury us.” Her ears picked up what he had said about the cavern, “Of course I’ll come. That and you said you wanted me to come with you, also.” She was glad that her teacher was alright now.

“We should rest up before we go, I’ll lead you to your room, Ok?”

“Ok, Zachary,” she stated as she slowly stood up. The shapeshifter opened and closed her hands for a moment, they were a little numb from the cold.

“You need to get your jacket. I don’t think you would last long in here without it, since you‘re turning a little pale.”

“I understand,” she began to follow Zachary as they both started to walk away from the area the fog previously was in. The blizzard had destroyed any evidence that a large rabbit had been there. Wisp became lost in thought as they were walking, Sky Pillar’s poles seem to do a lot more damage than my Gale Edge against those ice knights. Shadow Spire has a flat variation too, so I can always use that, but it’s still new to me. I can’t use it often… If they are as strong as the first one I fought, my attacks are useless, but those five seemed weaker in design. Zachary was able to destroy the first one with ease though, I think that one was under his control, unlike the five that were in the fog...

“Wisp? Hey, we’re at my door now. Are you ok?”

“Huh? Oh, sorry, I was thinking about the ice knights and how I could fight them.” The rabbit girl smirked for a second.

“I see. That’s a good thing though, no need to be sorry about that.” Zachary opened the door and waited for her. The shapeshifter stepped out into a cave type of hallway, and turned to look back at her teacher.

“I think I can find my room from here. You were hurt more than I was, anyway.” Wisp looked a little worried for a moment.

Zachary nodded, and closed the ice door behind himself. The wind and shadow mage walked to the left past four doors to the end of the hall, then turned right into a forested hallway. About five doors down on the right, she found the door to her room. The sun was still out, but she didn’t care, she was exhausted. After turning into a rabbit, she bolted down to her room at the bottom of her burrow. Shifting back, the teal-clad female put her jacket on , just to make sure she didn’t forget it this time. Wisp hopped onto her bed and quickly fell asleep.

Re: [Zorolo] Wisp's Training

Wisp had, indeed, been correct. The first ice knight she had fought he had forced under his control to fight her, much to his displeasure. The others inside of the cavern, he knew, would be weaker. They had gotten the better of him with an ambush. Zachary picked an icicle off of the top of the entrance to the cave and focused on it. The icicle became engulfed in a blue mist and became a sword. "Interesting..." the ice innate noticed as he tossed the sword down. "Still, that isn't my style," he said as he headed back towards his bed. He'd need to rest some before tomorrow.

Assignment Time:

This is a landmark for me. Your next assignment will be a multi-part assignment. It will be in three parts. You'll post each part, I'll add my IC part, and then you'll move onto the next part. The first part, Wisp will meet Zachary at the entrance to the cavern. From there, they will enter the cave and then proceed to head in a bit. After a little while of walking, Zach will stop, either after hearing something himself, or after Wisp hearing a noise. After that, the two will be attacked by six of the ice knights. Defeat them, and end your post there. THe knights will seek to drive the two farther into the cave, so if the two decide to run, they can, but make sure they eventually stand their ground.

Assignment 20: Cavern Journey [Part 1]

Wisp woke up with her head spinning, Must be from using Breeze Feather for who knows how long… She looked down and saw her jacket on her, then her stomach growled. The shapeshifter chuckled as she went to her bag, and took out a box of granola bars. Looking at it, and finding no puncture wounds from the snake attack, she opened it and took out two packets. The packets held two bars each in it.

The rabbit girl had spent two years stuck in her rabbit form and had gotten used to not eating very often. This wasn’t that odd for her to go for a couple of days without eating, but she knew her limit. The wind and shadow mage tucked one into her pocket and munched on the granola bars. After she finished, she folded the wrapper up and placed it a small plastic bag. She tossed it and the box into her leather bag again.

The shapeshifter checked her face again, out of habit, then formed the fog-like, gray orb around her. The plain looking, brown swamp rabbit bounded outside of the burrow, and then turned back. She walked out of her room into another cave hallway, but it looked to be made out of sandstone this time, with some water trickling down the sides in various places in the walls.

The black-clad female walked down four doors the hall and turned to the left, into a castle type hallway past six doors, but stopped after the seventh. A blue ice door stuck out among the wooden drawbridge doors. She knocked on the door, but it cracked open automatically.

Wisp nudged the door open a bit more, glancing inside before walking in. The snow crunched lightly under her feet, which she change by hopping onto Sky Pillar. Footprints lead in the same direction as yesterday’s, so she followed them. A while later she ended up in the valley again, still following the tracks.

The wind and shadow mage noticed a cave in the distance, as well as Zachary. As she got closer, he turned around and noticed her, “Are you ready for this, Wisp?”

“I am.”

“Good, lets get going then,” her teacher said before he walked into the cave, with the rabbit girl behind him and following on the right. The cave looked like it was made out of ice, with very little pieces of rock strewn about. She saw that Zachary had made a sword out of thin air again, since there were Ice Knights in here she remembered.

*It’s a good thing I’m standing on Sky Pillar, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to stand on this floor.* Something caused her ear to twitch, it sounded like a creaking sound. Her teacher must have heard it as well, because he immediately stopped in his tracks.

The creaking sound was quickly joined by multiple footsteps. The ice in the cave actually helped hide what was approaching, at least to Wisp’s eyes. That’s why the six ice knights seemed to come out of nowhere to her. Zachary readied his sword, just as two of the ice knights in the center rushed out towards the two fighters. The ice knights looked exactly like the first one the rabbit girl had met, but these were a light blue in color. The swords the ice warriors held were the exact same as well, a long sword made out of the same ice and color as the knights.

Her head tilted to the side for a moment, before she threw a blunt Shadow Spire into the on coming frozen behemoth’s chest. The shapeshifter’s attack hit with enough force to form six large cracks in its chest plate, but it kept coming at her after Shadow Spire vanished. She then launched a pole that hit a little higher than her first attack, then quickly followed with another pole which struck below her shadow attack. The cracks in the chest plate gave way, and it shattered, leaving the creature in pieces.

During her fight, she heard the destruction of the Ice Knight that headed towards Zachary. He managed to shatter it faster than the shapeshifter did. He suddenly said, “You could have aimed at the head, in order to get rid of it faster.” Before she could respond, the other four came at them.

All of my attacks are better used for a single opponent, not two… Fine, I‘ll aim at the head. The shapeshifter threw a pole into the left knight’s head, and quickly had another strike the back of the right’s helmet. The cracks spiraled out as seven lines on the left, and she could just start to see the tips of the lines on the right’s head. She actually used one hand for this, one pole was summoned by forcing her hand forwards, the one from behind was formed from pulling her arm back.

Wisp then mimicked the same attack, but in reverse order: the left Ice Knight was struck in the back, while the right was hit in the front. Both helmets slowly broke apart and the knights fell to the ground. She turned towards Zachary and saw that he easily dispatched one and was now working on the other ice warrior.

He blocked a horizontal sword slash, and began to jump back as it attempted a downwards stab, a gray pole slammed into its hand and sent the ice weapon flying away. The ice mage then ducked under a right
