When a Bad Day Turns Good (Limit 3 People)

Padme scowled at the human once she was finally let go, shaking herself vigorously to get all of the water off. Thankfully, the storm had ceased and the sun was out to warm the small creature, and she was able to stop shivering. Finally.

“Chuck! HUMANs be worst mannered creatures!” The yellow creature cried, banging the butt of her staff against the rocky shore of the river.

“Also make dangerous fire,” Ziggy added with a suspicious glance at the axe-man. “You sure you mean no trouble?”

“Well,” Padme growled, folding her arms stubbornly, “HUMANs not all bad. They no let own disaster hurt haschens.”

Ziggy nodded in agreement, and then took a small pouch from a string tied to the top of his staff. He glanced at Padme, as if for approval, only removing the pouch once she nodded. With his soft and dexterous paws, Ziggy opened the small sack, dumping a few ripe strawberries into them. With one last anxious look at Padme, the black creature approached the axe man, who seemed to be in charge, offering the lovely red fruits to him.

“Ziggy give peace offering to HUMANs for truce. We no want fight no more.”

"Well yeah. Why do you think I haven't drawn a weapon?" Zarek snobbishly replied. "Look, as much as I appeared to be a bad person, I'm not. In fact, I despise rabbit meat and would never eat it if it were the last thing on earth."

"That is truth?" Padme asked, to be sure.

"For the last time, yes!" Zarek answered, getting a bit annoyed. "...Sorry. When I get asked the same question over and over, it really grinds my gears."

"What about man with cape over there?" Ziggy wondered. Caragon was simply standing there.

"Him? I'm guessing yes since he doesn't seem to like fighting rabbits anyway, but I can't say for sure," Zarek replied. The three simply stood there and awaited the caped man's answer.

"... I have no quarrel with any of you," Caragon replied simply. "Nor with any animals of the forest. I'm just trying to survive."

The rabbits looked at each other, and Zarek just shrugged. Caragon sat down, wincing a little as he felt the aftermath of the lengthy battle finally catch up with him. He could feel wherever on his body the animals had kicked or bitten or struck. As he removed his chest plate, the black rabbit had come over, offering him some small strawberries.

"Truce," it repeated as it held up the berries.

Caragon hesitated. He then slowly held out his hand, and the rabbit dropped the berries into his palm.

"... thank you," Caragon muttered with a hoarse voice. He brought up his water bottle and took a zwig, before having a taste at those strawberries. They tasted strangely nice for wild berries. "... where did your forest friends go?"

Ziggy gave the HUMAN a curious glance, as if his question was strange. “They put out fire, course’. What you be doing?”

“Yes, yes, what HUMANs be doing here?” Padme chimed in, rattling her staff impatiently. She was still horribly weak from all of the fighting and flames, but she wasn’t about to show it.

OoC: "I'm simply passing through," Zarek replied. Oh brother. I can't believe I'm still hanging around with these rabbits... Zarek thought to himself. I am damn glad no one I know from home is here to see this. They'd just crack up until their spleens split. "I really should be leaving now, actually. I prefer not staying in one place for too long."

With that, Zarek turned around and started off in the opposite direction of the woods he'd come out of, looking forward as always to the next battle he'd get into. He really didn't want to have to stick around with the rabbits any longer anyway, as it somewhat embarrassed him. As for Caragon, he seemed to be interesting enough to hope for a second encounter in the future, if it were ever possible.

BiC: Well, that's it for me, I guess. You two can continue if you want, but I'm out of ideas.

"Trying to survive," was Caragon's reply to the rabbit's question. "That's it, really."

Zarek took his leave. It was time to go for the halberd-wielding warrior as well, but first he had to make sure of something. He had to know.

"You," he said suddenly, talking to the yellow rabbit. "Have you seen an old woman in those woods?"

The rabbits looked at each other. "No, we see no-one there."

"I see." Caragon sighed, closing his eyes for a brief second and letting his mind run free. What to do, what to do... what to do... his eyes opened slowly.

"Very well. Thank you."

He lifted his halberd and turned around. The two rabbits saw as the young warrior slowly disappeared into the forests once again, perhaps to find this old woman he had been asking for.

OoC: And that is where I go, too

“Well…that be it.” Padme sighed wearily as both humans disappeared into the forest. “Good fight at least.”

Ziggy nodded with a ponderous expression on his furry face, as if his mind had followed the humans where his eyes could not. “You think he find old woman?”

“Why not? He anger whole forest, why not find HUMAN?” Padme shrugged nonchalantly as she spoke, her attention already far from the humans. It had wandered back to the clover fields, which were now freshly laden with water from the storm. “Must get back to post in case other HUMANs come.” The yellow creature turned away from the river and began to move to the trees, pausing only for Ziggy to catch up. The black rabbit stood at the shore of the river hesitantly, still wondering after the strange HUMANs, but then he turned to meet Padme, and both small creatures leaped into the trees and to the fragrant fields, where their next adventure awaited.
