Attack on Kharthazed-Duhr (Siege Warfare, Play) ANYONE

It had been two months since any of the 10,000 elves, men, and dwarves had seen a friendly face. There were no towns, no family in Kharthazed-Dhur. Just barren black earth, fissures and guisers. They hadn't smelled a flower or clean air for a very long time, only the sulfer in the air around them. They could feel the dirt entering their lungs, and blackening them. Some of the soldiers were bedridden from the black lung disease. Others lay under the barren earth and sulfer that had killed them.
Still, they continued on. After a few hours of walking over the barren hills, desperately trying to find the tower of the evil sorcerer, Arion, and wage war with an army twice their size. No other races or allies had come to help, just those with very strong merchant ties and alliences. They stopped in a wide expance of withered underbrush, black and crispy from the terrible heat. They sat down and began to eat. Out of nowhere, an orc arrow whizzed through the air and hit a soldier in the shoulder. He gave a grunt and fell to the black earth. Orcs rushed from their concealment in the brush and rocks, their gaunt swords and blood stained spears raised.
"To your positions!" Taran yelled. "Form ranks!" Soldiers scrambled to grab their weapons. Sky Quickening's men were on watch duty, and were ready to aid with their bows and slings. He yelled for them to let a round of arrows into the air, and they fell, marking each of their targets and hitting them perfectly. By the time they had formed their ranks, the orcs were upon them, snarling and gnashing their teeth.
"We can't hold them, let alone force an attack on them after this battle. We'll be slaughtered!" Taran cried in disbelief. "I hope reinforcements arrive soon..."

I don't agree with either option. It sounds pretty goo so far, though it kinda reminds me of the Lord of the Rings also. The name Kharthazed-Dhur reminds me of Khazad-Dum, otherwise known as Moria. You may want to come up with a whole new type of enemy and be unique with that rather than using an already created creature. Like you know, I cam up with the Shizoro in our battle thread. Description lacks just a little and black was used a lot. Overall, it's pretty good. But as you know, all work needs revising.
