Just My Luck (BTM and Candc32)

It was a cool autumn day.

Zebshar had been wandering through the woods, -his woods- as he liked to call them. This time he had traveled even farther from his home than last time, but he was still in the woods.Farther from his little lake, and his prime source of magic, Zebshar called out to the waters in the ground, bringing them forth. Using this water, Zebshar refilled his magics, and began practising.

The woods sparkeled with the water that Zebshar had pulled out of them. Zebshar took this in, and then had an idea. "Zhara! I summon thee! Come unto me, My demon! Zharah! Bar Ixum!" (roughly translated. Zhara. Spawn. Demon.)

There is something amiss. Zharah mentally replied in Zebshar's head. Someone hiding in the bushes.


Zebshar didn't appear worried, but let his eyes slip into the infrared vision, there he saw something that looked to be human, peeking out through the dim blue heat of the leaves.


"Arg.... Just My Luck."

Cole watched as the man walk through the woods, a rush of water came. 'where did that come from,' Cole thought to herself. He looked right at Cole, 'he sees me,' she got angry and jumped out and used her staff to grab the water and hit the man with it, knocking him down.

he looked up at Cole, "Don't look at me," she yelled.

Hayao's vision came into focus as the lens slide into place and he observed this mounting tension on the battlefield waiting to be unleased.

From shadows he watched, biding time and energy, the chains atached to his flesh slithered along at his bidding, slowly curling around the foilage and entagle in bushes, all settling into position as the trigger is set and the trap is ready to be sprung.

What an odd meeting, he chuckled quietly to himself, the faint laugh carrying a mechanical element, but I am not one to be left from battle, tis the curse of my eager being...

Quietly he remained stationary, knowing soon he would be discovered and he could spring his trap and pounch upon his prey.

"Don't look at me!" The strange woman said.

Zebshar stood back up,and began brushing himself off. "Foolish wench! I shall drive you out of this forest! MY forest! " Zeb exclaimed, believing that the attack had been ment to harm him, He stood back up, and absorbed the water that had been aimed at him back into his magical reserves.

There is another.
Where?
From what I can tell... He is all around you.

Zebshar looked away from the woman, and unsheathed his dagger. Sure enough, there was small, unnatural, heat being entangled throughout his entire clearing. "Show your self Iiblith! claim yourself! Friend or Foe!"

"Claim yourself! friend or foe!" the stranger said, this made Cole angrier.

she growled and scowled, "SHUT UP!"

she knocked him down with a wall of water again, "SHUT UP, SHUT UP, SHUT UP, I hate you!"

The man looked up again, not sure what to say, she kicked him in the face.

The point had come and Hayao had become disillusioned that he would be discovered, whats the point in waiting if the nits aren't going to find me anyways! he claimed to himself, somewhat irked at the slowly unwinding scene, preferring if things moved a bit faster.

But he was still not really to reveal himself, in a game such as this secrecy holds a quality all its own and should he be discovered and isolated then he may very well find himself at his end.

But there was one thing he could do to declare his coming to his fight and turn the tables in his direction. This clearing absolutely would not do, to much rooms for his quick footed opponenets to manuever, and so with a simple movement and mastery of control he sprung his trap!

The chains tightened around their targets; barbed steel dug into the trunks of trees and uprooted bushes as the weapons stiffened and the gears of his machinery set into action.

The chains pulled at the trees, cut into their thick trunks and dug into the soil cutting at roots and bearing hard into the forest around. Things began to give, first the weaker trees uprotted and fell, their lengths smashing through the clearing bearing leaves and dirt and filth with it... As the chaos ensued tree after tree began to fall; obscuring the clearing, trunks smashing and splintering as they met mid air and crashed down in peices. As the final tree feel the chains snapped from their targets and like serpents slitthered back to their master, the gears turning and manauerving them back.

The clearing was gone, lost to the forest and now the field was set for t his grand battle; Hayao eagerly awaited his enemies next moves...

Zeb was amazed at what the mage in front of him had done. She had struck him! Physically! No sane mage would attack a DROW physically! It just wasn't done! Then The unthinkable happened. The forest came alive, trees shaking, snapping limbs, and the ground was exploding!

"It was a trap!" both Zhara and Zeb exclaimed. Zebshar quickly identified the source. The other person he had been addressing when the human had so suddenly assaulted him. "You... You destroyed my clearing! Now... I will destroy you!"

Fire and water and wind and earth,

send away my newest Foe!

All of a sudden, a giant wind came out of nowhere, knocking Zebshar to the ground, His newest foe,however, didn't even seem to flinch at the wind. The female, on the other hand was clearly having a hard time against it.

"You do know that you will not leave here unscathed." Zebshar said, maliciousness dripping with every word as he drew his dagger. He quickly ran up and sliced at the girls bare leg, scoring a small nick. Then, as fast as his heavy armor would allow, he jumped away from both of his opponents, thinking them to be working as a team.

As the wind picked up and this typhoon descended upon the field and Hayao struggled against the winds.

His chains whipped about once more finding the fallen trees and foliage and wrapped around them once more anchoring the Deity down as the wind whipped about.

Magic, heh heh, he bellowed a deep mechanical laugh, following which he announced, "surely you must have more then this to offer! I do thank you though for the breeze is quite nice!"

Bringing a foot up then stepping forward against the wind, his armor and chains giving leverage Hayao still found it troublesome but it would not be this wind that would cripple him. Perhaps this wind could serve him in a way.

From his jacket he pulled a small vile filled with the corrosive fluids that could burn through armor and singe the flesh from the bone. He let the vile go, carried with the wind out of control, the vile destined to smash into some random location and it lucky strike his opponent.

"Get back here you stupid jerk," Cole pulled out her Karder's Aura an healed the wound and quickly gave chase to the one who had sliced her.

"I'm going to kill you, you stupid ****er," she said as she jumped in front the man, "ready to die," she asked as she drew her sword. she felt something hit her back, it cracked and began to burn, "AHHHH," she screamed, "ah ah what is that, ah AHHH."

She fell to the ground and held up Karder's Aura to recharge it's magic.

The windhad slowed down, allowing his enemies to gain ground on him, seeing the female pull out an object, adn hold it towards the sky, he dropped a sphere of darkness over it, and the female. The Sphere was summoned on the object, making it mobile, but it would only last, like the storm, thirty minutes.

"Damnit... I need some help here Zharah!"

As difficult and arduous as it was, Cole drug herself to her feet and snatched her orb back and put it back into the sun, she looked around and spied a figure in the trees, "you're next ****er," she yelled, and she fell to her knees, the pain coursing over her back, she cried, until her Aura was recharged and she could fight once again.

Upon seeing this Female Crying, zebshar immediatley called off his dark globe, and began another chant.

Fire and water and wind and earth
Death and destruction,
life and birth.
and in hand
One will go.
Heal her wounds, start the show!

Upon inacting this glyph, he was steadily draining his health into hers, as he pulled it back into himself from the water around them.

"From the waters of Life, you shall meet foes that wish to send you into the flames of eternal Oblivion. In this time, you should help heal their wounds, or you shall surely lose the fight."

"The area around him was getting drier, and drier, but te wound was now fully healed. Zebsar Gasped, and released the magical energies he had used.

"Thank you, Zhara."

Hayao revealed himself as his chains let loose snapping feciously through the air as they reeled back to their resting place. His movements were slow but revined, not hurdling into action as others may but slowly, gloriously entering the battle.

"Already having to med the flesh so early in battle!" he mocked, raising his hand for all to see, a dagger grasped in his other, "I am disappointed, perhpas you two would be best to leave..."

He drags the blade across the palm of his hand, oblivious to pain as the flesh seperates and is stained crimson.

"I am Hayao Nakaki, Lord of Tesla and Deity of the Glorious Region of Steampunk!" He announced, walking slowly forward, hands raised to add to the effect of his divine entry, "so make your choice my fellow warriors."

"Shall it be fight... or flight."

"Oh yeah," Cole said quickly, "I am Colecartha Druzin the ***** thats going to **** you up!"

She picked up some more water and splashed it down on his head, which did nothing, to this mystery man.

Being that the water did nothing to slow this mans slow advance, Cole began to get angrier, "**** you then," she drew her sword and ran forward the man, she slashed and slashed continually at him.

Underlined bold= talking so everyone can hear her.

"Colecartha! Wait!" Zebshar exclaimed.

Zhara, I need your assistance, try to talk some sence into this woman.

Fine...
Colecartha! wait, This man threw something that made your back explode into pain, right?
is it all that smart to be running straight at him?

Zebshar was still weak from all the magic that healing Colecartha had taken, so he couldn't really do much but nod. That's when he realized that the ground near him had gotten extremley dry... He quickly took a stone, and a dagger, and quickly struck them, creating a small fire.

Come alive, and burn my FOES! as he said this, he threw the dried grass and stone into the air, right at the mechanical man. He finished his Spell just as it hit, sending a massive wave of fire over him. Foul smoke began so surround the man, and Zebshar was unsure of if he had mortally wounded the man or not.

As fire envelops him, Hayao cannot help but be amused. Perhaps the most immediate reason being his jacket is quite fireproof and though it is covered in flame it refuses to burn. Though his flesh slowly burns, he cares little.

"The breeze has gone and the sun is out!" Hayao roars with laughter over the flames rising, "I could perhaps put this out myself but I'll let you decide!"

Hayao charges forward through the foliage, flame building as it meets the trees and leaves and ignites into a ferocious flame threatening to engluf all, Hayao nears the stunned warriors still laughing madly.

"Shall the forest be lost and all our lifes with!" Hayao, strikes forward, "I'll let you make that decision!"

"EEEEEEK," she screamed as the fire spreed, "help me help me help me help me," she was paralyzed with fear. She stood there, inside the fire, shaking and crying, she fell to her knees, her mind racing at the thought of the fire, coming ever closer, licking her flesh, she could easily heal herself, though she could do nothing but cry.

Zebshar had an idea. He had used his medallion to transport himself to the demon world, at very minimal expense to his magical energies. What would happen if he tried to transport the area around him -including the trees- to the demon realm? It would surely protect his forest. it would surely take more magical energies than he currently had, though.

"Ixion! I call upon you! Give me your flaming strength! Let it flow unto me, that I may save my forest!" Ixion! Bar Ixion!" "Zhara! Make yourself known! Give me the wisdom of your water! Help me save the forest!"

Zebshar threw up his medallion, and sent all the magical energies that he had accumulated from his two demons, almost immediately, he felt the magic being drained away. A sharp, pungent smell started to fill the air around the clearing. Not from the smoke... but coming from within the medallion.

Who is it that wishes to bring fire, and two others into our- the demonic- realm?A thousand voices hissed and screeched, each voice trying to cover up the last one.

"Tis Naught but I, Zebshar Barrixum, I need to move this fire, to rain destruction upon my enemies!"

very well, you may bring it here. The multitude of voices said, giving entrance into the demonic realm.

All of a sudden, everything went black, and when he could see again, he realized that the demons had indeed led him into the demonic realm, or atleast... what Zebshar knew of it. They were under water, the fire long since extinguised, but they were still able to breath. Zebshar pushed off the ground, and was now flying away from the rushing man, towards one of the trees. Zebshar was astonished, the man didn't even seem to notice the change of scenery!

"Who... or what, is this man?" Zebshar imediaatley began preparing for his next spell.

Hayao noticed the flames extinguished from himself and the world around him, but was slightly puzzled as to the reason why. Though that didn't weigh much upon him either, as he was quite intent upon his current purpose.

Though, he felt as though he weighed more then before though it still did little to hinder him. This was making for an odd battle... Was this water around him!

"We seem to submerged beneath some body of water," Hayao pointed out, "yet you remain capable to breathe, interesting that is, but it remains that not much has changed."

"If you expect the change of scenary to stem my intent you are too be gravely disappointed."

Cole snapped out of her crying when the water enveloped her body, "no fire, ha no fire," she said confidently. she looked around and noticed the man she had attacked and the man that attacked her. "which one of you wants to get ****ed up first," she asked defiantly.
