Late night attack(AvaIancheMike :P)
OoC:
bic: Captain Scotson awoke in the middle of the night with a jolt. His dreams had frightened him once more, so he did what he always did. He silently got out of bed, made his way silently up to the deck of his ship, and stared out at the sea. Looking at the sparkling blue water, he tried to separate his dream from his thoughts. He had been dreaming about his life before the seas. About how his father had betrayed him... No, it was his brother, his brother had betrayed him. His father just did what he thought logical and true. He had no way of knowing that the words landing upon his ears were snakes of deceit. His brother had convinced the elder Captain Scotson that his other son had broken the law in a mighty fashion. Leonard's father had sent guards to capture him, and he hastily left towards the seas. Oh, how he longed for home. For the green grasses of his lawn, for the the sight and sounds of his friends and companions, for the smell of the cooking and the feel of sweat pouring down his brow after a good training. He longed for it all to come back. But he knew it couldn't happen. He had left, and that was that. He couldn't go back, he would be captured and killed. If not for treason, then for piracy. Leonard's thoughts were quickly interrupted by a small click clack coming from behind him. He turned around to see a man standing there. One of his men? No, upon closer inspection this man held a new face, one Leonard didn't recognize. In an odd sort of instinct, he drew his blade and quickly said "What is your reason for trespassing upon my ship?". |

Re: Late night attack(AvaIancheMike :P)
The sound of metal, moving against metal quickly followed behind Mael as he darted around a corner. How was he suppose to know the girl he had sitting on his lap was the daughter of the tavern owner, and that said father would try to knock his skull in for trying to snatch a kiss? The civic guard apparently didn’t take too kindly to barroom brawls around here, not that Mael had wanted anything to do with the proprietor who went around smashing in tables, blows aimed at his own head.
Quickly taking in his surroundings he realized he was at the docks of the town, and saw this as a chance to get away from his pursuers. Gunning it up a gang plank, Mael leapt over the side of the closest boat, ducking down behind the wooden wall meant to keep people from falling off the swaying vehicle and waited until the loud sound of moving metal passed on. Evidently, the local guards were as bright as the unpolished weapons they carried around. Standing he looked around at the large deck of the boat, he was now a passenger on, and wondered if he could somehow spend the night curled up in a life boat. "What is your reason for trespassing upon my ship?" Apparently not. He turned an saw an older and taller man, well older and taller than Mael, standing on the other side of the boat. He quickly drew upon his sword and took on a fighting stance, and Mael sighed. This just wasn’t his night. Drawing his own knife, he assumed a defensive stance, with the point of his knife pointing toward the ground, and took his shillelagh off the loop on his belt and held it out. If he was going to be forced to fight, he wasn’t going to make the first move. “Uhh, I didn’t know anyone was awake, or I would have knocked.” He hoped that would calm the boats captain. He wasn’t quite sure how real boats worked, especially not in this unfamiliar era.

Re: Late night attack(AvaIancheMike :P)
The man talked as if he was a guest. He almost looked like he could've, too...
But guests don't take out their knives when they see you. Leonard raised his sword and said "If you wish to live, you should move now." He brought the sword down and watched as the person rolled to the left. Scottson stopped the sword before it hit the ground and assumed a defensive position as the intruder jumped at him with the knife. The two metals clashed and slid against each other. Leonard raised his foot up and kicked his enemy towards the edge. The intruder simply caught himself and swung his knife and Leonard's, who promptly ducked, head. This should be interesting... The captain thought with a smile. |
