What's the point of fighting? [Open]

OOC: Shrukan Caelestis is who I will be using for this. He's older now though, eighteen years old, and his attitude a bit more neutral with hardly any emotion. If you need help to use him, just say so.

What is the point of fighting? It has its good uses and its bad. But sometimes we over look what is good and what is bad. Anyone opposing your views is bad, but in their eyes, they do good. So why do we fight? Why do we spread blood on the ground? Why spread horror, grief, and sadness? It all makes no sense...

Shrukan pondered this as walked through the streets of some large city. Groups of soldiers walking through the streets, swords and shields in their hands, waiting just in case for someone to attack them. Shrukan knew of what was going on; an impending war between this small kingdom and the one right next to it. However, he had no clue what it was about, but he didn't feel like being apart of it, nor know more about it.

Pointless. It is only for territory. One wanting to be stronger. Shrukan glared as several soldiers passed him. I fought for something more, but only at the end did I learn it was pointless. Death brings nothing but pain and this war will send a shock wave of it.

He sighed and looked at his right, seeing soldiers paste papers on the sides of buildings, some encouraging people, whether part of the Kingdom or not to fight for them. A hefty sum of money was posted for whoever fought for this Kingdom. Although, Shrukan noticed, it once again left him questioning what the war was about. A person could jump into the war, without knowing if he or she was really fighting on either the good or evil side.

He shrugged and walked away, his mind pounding with questions on why people fought.

OOC: Feel free to be on either Kingdom's side just for the money, but remember they do not exactly tell you what you are fighting for. The two Kingdoms are Alvior (the Kingdom Shrukan is in now) and Kaerion (the "opposing"). Just make a post.

― It seems the other kingdom is ready to attack at any moment, Miss ― said Yuu who just had an eye contact with Yori who was flying above the plains that separate both kingdoms.

― Hibiki will make sure this battle don't occur, I trust him... ― said Aiko looking on the horizon in the direction of the great kingdom of Kaerion.

Aiko and Yuu were sitting on a tower roof, on the ground many soldiers ran with swords in their hands, ready for the upcoming battle.

― So shall we help people here? ― asked Yuu jumping from the tower and arriving on the floor like a feather. ― They have a lot of people with potential here.

― I don't know, all I feel about people here is lust for power, maybe this place would be better with a new leadership.

― What? The Mistress is planning to take over the power here?

― Nope. I was thinking on something else, this city has a lot of descent people who could be good kings for this place. ― Aiko looked where Yuu was and then jumped on his direction, Yuu grabbed her in the air, like a little baby jumping on her father arms.

― Give me a good example of this kind of person.

― Look that man over there. Her heart seems to be pure. ― Aiko pointed in Shrukan's direction.

― I see... but I'm afraid his heart has a dark side too.

―But his feelings are pure, I trust him. Let's follow him a bit and see what he's doing.

―You mean, like two stalkers? haha

―Something like that. Let's go.

Aiko and Yuu started to follow Shrukan without he even notice their presence, while high on the sky Yori was watching both kingdoms movements, and a farther to the eastern lands Hibiki was walking on the streets of the great capital city of Kaerion.

OoC: Character is Derek, and he's on Kaerion's side.

"Why fight?" I laughed. The old man did not understand that, and he did not share my point of view, so he got mad at me. Humans are so lowly beings, so weak, so unworthy... And yet they think they know better than us, the dragons? We who live to see both the rise and fall of kingdoms? Needless to say, he did not survive the encounter. Humans are not even worth eating.

But why do I fight? Why do I not fight, I prefer to ask myself. Why don't I spend my days fighting instead of mingling with those petty beings? I don't have an answer. I think I have one when I am human, but recently I'm not sure exactly what I am... I think I understand those humans better when I too are human. But I can't remember...

Why fight... I fight for survival, mostly. I fight for money, for territory, for treasure. It's only natural for a dragon to fight, so why should I not? Now I fight for treasure, and for territory and for money. It's not much about survival. Not that it matters anyway, I'm just supposed to not kill those on 'my' side. The king had promised me a good portion of the treasure from the loot, and a huge portion of the land for territory. I had accepted, but I don't think I'll keep my word. A dragons word is as good as the dragon wants it to be, it say in a dragon saying. I think I'll take all the treasure.

Sand and twigs whirled up in the air as my powerful wings lifted me to the skies. From below, I could hear cheering and shouts of victory as the soldiers praised my name in awe. It felt good to be the center of attention, in a positive light, instead of being the center of a hunt. But it would feel even better to see the expressions of terror when I turned on them after the battle. I let out a roar as the two armies clashed together.

I met the old man while I was looking for any survivors in the nearby rivers. He was a doctor or something for the other army and not a man of fighting, but he was a man of great courage: "What, O Dragon, what do you have against me? Why do you take the life of so many innocent men? Why do you fight us?" he pleaded. He ended his days as a roasted chicken.

OoC: It was just one of many battles, not a great, big, main battle with lot's of heroic deeds and such. Just a border clash or something.

― A battle on the frontier just ended... The other kingdom have a dragon helping them. ― said Yuu a little excited and scared at the same time.

―You had an eye contact with Yori? ― asked Aiko just ignoring what Yuu said about the dragon.

―Yup.

―Did he say anything about Hibiki?

―Nope, nothing.

―I just hope he is ok...
