Within the bamboo thicket... [Open]

OoC: It has been a long time since I have been here. I would like to test my writing abilities once more. I will be using my character Lumis, link in sig.

BiC: A strong breeze blew across the open plain. It traveled far and fast until it hit the thick bamboo forest. There the wind scattered between the stalks and became gentler. The bamboo swayed back and forth, creating a unique sound. It echoed through the forest until it reached an open clearing in the center. The sounds of the bamboo from all sides created an illusion of a orchestra stage. And in the center of the clearing, enjoying the serene sound of nature, was Lumis.

He sat motionless and silent. Concentrating his energy, he created a spotlight from the sun's rays. The spotlight circled around him and decreased in size with each passing second. The light eventually became a beam that Lumis pointed over himself. As the beam hit his body, the energy transferred into him. A bright white aura surrounded him and his hair began to flash white. The beam disappeared and Lumis held the energy inside of him.

A noise from the bamboo thicket suddenly broke his concentration. He expelled the light energy which traveled out as a wave. His hair returned to normal and the aura around him disappeared. Lumis opened his eyes and looked around. He grabbed his staff and propped himself up.

"Is someone out there?" he said to himself quietly. The sound of the bamboo hid all other sounds coming from the forest. He shot out a wave of light energy from Illumis and used it as a radar. Certainly, someone was out there.

Bic: I felt a wave of warmth spread over me, front to back. Before I broke cover and went out into the open, I recalled why the heck I was here, and if it was right..............

A plain, white room, with nothing in it except a plain white chair, again."They could sure use some color around the place" I commented to no one in particular.
"Alright Axen, that's enough" She said as she stepped inside the room.The woman was, you guessed it, a white lab coat.
"What? Who are you? What happened to Mia?
"She was replaced. She had to retire, with my regrets, of course, she was such a good secretary. By the way, my name's Rose, like the flower" Rose smiled at that.
"Well, at least send a thank-you card to her, with some of my funds of course. I'll miss her. Oh well, what's the new gig? Is it something exciting?"
"You are hunting down a exclusive, high-priority target. His name is Lumis. He has stolen and is wanted for several other petty crimes as well. We also believe he has a bomb and is planning to destroy this center" as I sat pondering this, she brought some photos of a streak of light, then another, looking as if it was taken a few seconds apart. This one showed a explosion. Then another. This one was a overhead view, the blast radius being about 1&1/2 miles from the impact site.
" So you're telling me we've got a fuse-happy person who is well funded, and has his hands on some explosives?" I questioned anxiously
"....Yup, that pretty much sums it up."
"Well then, let's get going! Don't wanna miss him!" I cheered, happy that I was going to get some real excitement..........

Then I stepped out into the sunlight, where a man with a bamboo stick at the ready was waiting. That was weird, the man in the picture didn't have a bamboo stick. oh well, he probably cut it from one of the bamboo shafts around here.
"What do you want?" Lumis called out
" I'm here to take you out" I said as I took out Rox and got ready.

Lumis eyed the person in front of him. Lean, thin, and roughly the same height as me, he thought to himself. Short, black hair and pointy ears; either Elvish or Hylian. Wearing a black cloak with leather armor underneath. Metal knobs on the side meant for holding his two swords. His focus then shifted to his opponent's weapons. The one on the knob has a rope attached to its hilt; likely used for long range. The one in his hand has an emerald hilt. It is expelling a strange aura; most probable uses could be self-healing or attack-based. As the Elemental studied his opponent, he thought about his motivation. "And why exactly are you going to take me out?"

"Classified. All I can divulge is that I am here to stop you," the warrior said as he stared Lumis down.

Assassin. The only question is, who would want me dead? Lumis thought to himself when suddenly the swordsman disappeared. He readied his staff and assumed a stance. Opponent disappeared. Most likely position, behind. Lumis spun around and extended his staff. The fighter reappeared and leaped back. "Truly you are an assassin. Attacking me as quickly as possible. Since there seems to be a very small chance of preventing this, I have no choice but to fight." The Light Elemental spun Illumis around his body and got into stance.

His opponent turned invisible once again. Lumis again calculated where he would strike from. Left. He held out his left hand with his palm facing away from him. "Blind." A bright flash of light shot out of his left hand. The swordsman reappeared temporarily stunned. Lumis swung his staff horizontally. The swordsman quickly dodged under the swing. He retaliated with an upward swing, which Lumis parried. The two exchanged attacks with each one parrying the other. The Elemental sidestepped a vertical slash and struck the side of the knee with his weapon. The warrior lost balance and began to fall backwards. He used his hands to flip himself back and upright.

"Reflex Point: Knee," said Lumis as he rested Illumis on his shoulder. "It temporarily scrambles the nerves located in the leg causing one to lose balance."

"So, you're that kind of fighter," said the swordsman as he began to slowly circle Lumis. "Strange. I thought you used explosives." Lumis looked puzzled.

"Explosives? I do not use explosives," Lumis replied defensively. The fighter smirked.

"Sure you don't," he said sarcastically. He lunged forward with another attack, but Lumis kept him away from attacking distance using the length of his weapon. Lumis leaped backwards and swung his staff diagonally. A wave of light energy came out from the tip. The fighter guarded himself with his weapon, but the blunt force of the light energy caused him to fly backwards. He flipped around and used his sword and feet to regain his balance.

"Well skilled warrior, can you at least tell me your name?" Lumis asked.

"My name is Axen," he replied. Lumis smiled.

"And my name is Lumis," The Light Elemental readied his weapon, "but I'm sure you already knew."

OOc: hey, just wondering, how did you get your hyperlinks to have actual text in them? I want it like that way too!

Bic:Oooookayy. This is getting stranger by the moment. He says he doesn't use explosives, but he may be lying. This is a tough decision. Well, nothing to do but go forward from here. And going forward means fighting. And how did he know I knew his name? As these thoughts raced through my head I danced with him to the death march where one wrong step means death. I dashed toward him while jabbing my sword forward which he knocked aside then jumped as I sweep kicked Aghhhh! Again with the doging!"Just stand still and die already!" I screamed out in frustration when I rolled around him to doge his jump overhead strike, then back flipped out of his staffs range.
"Sorry, I can't die just yet" Lumis replied, now more aggressive.
"Well, looks like we still have a ways to go" I said as I pulled out Burn and took a lower stance. "Round two?" I smirked.

BiC: He changed swords. Time to change my strategy, Lumis thought to himself as he put down his weapon. "You'll find that that weapon won't do too much damage," he said as he slowly started to fade away. Axen grabbed the rope of his weapon and began spinning it above him. The fighter closed his eyes and began to sense the life force around him. Just then, he teleported a couple meters behind and threw his sword in front of him. The sword stopped in midair and blood started to drip from the blade. As Axen pulled the rope, Lumis became visible again. The sword had impaled his leg. Before Axen could reel him in, the Elemental pulled the sword out and jumped back with his other leg.

"I thought you said this weapon wouldn't do too much damage," Axen said as he pulled his sword back and grabbed the hilt. "That leg looks pretty damaged to me." The swordsman readied himself for the finishing blow. Lumis held his hand over the wound.

"Healing Light," Lumis said quietly to himself as a shining light came out of his hand, which healed the wound completely. "There, all better," he said as he stood up and picked up Illumis once more. So, he can teleport and somehow sense where I am while invisible. I need to get in close. My best chance will be - whoa! The tactician's thought was cut short by Axen throwing his sword once more. He narrowly avoided the attack, but as Axen pulled on the rope, the blade cut his left arm. Lumis launched another wave of light from his staff and began running away. Axen dodged it easily.

"That's not gonna work twice!" yelled the swordsman. He began running after Lumis while spinning his sword to his right. Lumis quickly turned around and began running towards his opponent. Axen launched his sword at Lumis who jumped over his attack. Axen drew his other sword and defended against the aerial attack. The force of the two weapons colliding caused Lumis to release his staff as he landed on the ground. Axen, with sword still in hand, attacked with a downward swing. Lumis rolled away from the strike and picked up Illumis with one hand. He swung the staff low, which Axen jumped over. The Elemental quickly spun around Axen and hit two points on his spine using his knuckles. This caused Axen's center to lunge forward. Lumis dropped Illumis and held out his right hand as his left hand grabbed the back of it. A ball of light formed in his right hand. Axen regained his balance and turned around for a counter.

"Shining Sphere." Lumis hit Axen in the chest with the attack. A large explosion from the Shining Sphere sent Axen propelling backwards. He bounced along the ground several times until he used his sword to stop his momentum. The explosion created a small crater at the base of Lumis' feet.

"I knew you were lying!" screamed Axen as he pulled himself up. "You just used an explosive!"

"That was not an explosive," Lumis responded, "that was light energy used to its potential. And now that you've seen the power that I have, I will ask you to please stop this fight before you or I get too injured."

OoC: I'll join this. It's a perfect situation for my character Zarek. The link to my character thread is in my sig. I just hope not too many other people join. >_<

BiC: "Give me a break. Bamboo?" Zarek complained when during his travels he came upon the edge of a bamboo forest. "Whatever. I suppose it'll do." With that, Zarek gripped his Silver Axe and cut down a few branches to burn in a campfire while cooking a meal he recently caught. The meat of a chicken was his favorite and he killed a wild one in good timing. He was about to walk off to go about his business when suddenly the sound of an explosion reached him. It came from somewhere within the bamboo forest.

"Damn it, now what? I much prefer to eat my meals when it's quiet!" Zarek said in annoyance. Although curious as to what it was anyway, he ventured forth into the bamboo trees to find the source of the explosion. However, it wasn't too long before he came upon a clearing and spotted two other men fighting. One was using some kind of strange magic Zarek had never seen before while the other had two swords. Zarek rolled his eyes at the sight he saw before him, but kept quiet so he wasn't seen or heard.

"What idiots. Pointless fighting is all they're doing," he said to himself. "But whatever. I'm out of here then."

With that, Zarek began his way back the way he'd come so he could go enjoy his meal. What reason is there for him to get caught in a mess like that?

OoC: Obviously, you two are going to have to do something to get Zarek to fight. He doesn't care about other people fighting unless they do something that makes him want to fight back.

Bic:As I tumbled back, I thought What! He can use explosives- wait..... there's someone else here! Maybe he has backup! Arrgh! What to do!? You know what? I'll fight this dude for a little longer, to get to know his moves, then I'll start to talk.
"Hmmm, Light energy you say? I'll have to watch out for that later. But unfortunately, I can't stop. This is my mission and I need real proof that you are who and what you say you are. Sorry Lumis, but that's my job."
Suddenly, I whipped out Burn and at the same time put Rox away, back in his sheath. Then I begun to swing it around me, first in small circles, then growing larger by small amounts, then, I began to cut into the trees.
Wait, someone's moving away? Oh well,I'll just draw them out with Burn.
A couple of extensions later, I heard somone shout, "Hey! who did that?" from off to my right.
"Heh, didn't think I would notice your backup?"
OOC:Yeah, let's get this party rolling!

"Backup?" Lumis had noticed the other person hiding within the bamboo thicket, but had not said anything for he did not want to involve any other people in this fight. Just then, the other person walked out into the open.

"Okay, who just attacked me?" asked the green haired man. Lumis examined the man.

He has spiked armor and two axes on his back, definitely a skilled warrior. One of those axes is giving off a strong electrical aura. It'd be best not to bring him into this fight. Lumis slowly approached the man. "Please, I do not wish for you to get involved," Lumis said to him. The man was about to walk away when Axen's sword cut the side of his face.

"You're not getting away. I know you're here to help him," said Axen as he pulled back his weapon. The green haired man got angry and pulled out one of his axes. Lumis tried to stop him, but he broke away and charged at Axen. The Hylian threw his weapon at his new opponent who dodged to the left. As he was about to attack, Axen jumped over and used the rope to trip him. As the fighter fell to the ground, Axen readied himself for a finishing blow. Just then, the man swung his axe and cut Axen's leather armor. Both warriors jumped back and got into another stance.

"You should have let me pass," said the green haired man, "Now you will die by my axe!" He pulled out his other axe, but before he could do anything Lumis rushed to his side.

"Sir, before you attack, may I ask what your name is?" Lumis asked holding him back.

"My name is Zarek. Now stand aside lest you be dealt with also," he said quite snobbishly.

"My name is Lumis and this is my fight. I do not want you to get hurt."

"Trust me, it's not me who's gonna get hurt," Zarek said as he glared at Axen. Lumis quickly spun around Zarek and hit five points on his spine. His body became limp and he fell to the ground. "What did you do to me?"

"Reflex Point: Temporal Paralysis. By hitting fie points on your spinal cord with light energy, I temporarily disabled the electrical flow in your central nervous system from the neck down." Lumis readied his staff and faced Axen. "Once I'm done with him, I'll reactivate your nerves and you can be on your way."

"Even if he wasn't your partner, you probably could have used the help," Axen said as he started swinging his sword.

"Since you forced me to harm an innocent, I must end this quickly before he gets too angry with me." Lumis formed another ball of light in his hand. He held it out towards Axen. "Shining Blast."

OoC: I've made it so it will be a free-for-all instead of a two verses one fight. Now all Zarek needs is some way of reactivating his nerves.

OoC: 'kay, I'll do my best. xP

BiC: Zarek could feel the anger building up in his mind as he watched the two men before him begin to fight again right in front of him. And what was all that talk about back up? Zarek was just another warrior out looking for a good meal. Why did it have to be interrupted by two bozos acting like they're superior? It would never be tolerated, not by Zarek. When he could hold in his annoyance and anger in no longer, Zarek decided to try sending a slight electrical shock to his body to cure the paralysis. He gripped the Bolt Axe and although barely, successfully hit himself with a slight shock. It took a few seconds, but once he was able to, Zarek jumped to his feet and raised the Bolt Axe in the air angrily.

"AW COME ON!" he shouted and struck the ground twice as hard as he could, sending waves of electricity to both warriors. Both were shocked heavily and fell to the ground.

"I'm not gonna take this!" Zarek shouted. "Damn it, I shouldn't even be here right now watching you two numbskulls kill each other!" With that, the man with the sword, able to get up faster than Lumis, jumped to his own feet with anger.

"Numbskull?! You're in for the beating of your life now!" he screamed. Zarek then took an axe in each hand. and figured out his plan.

"Fine! You want a fight, I'll give you a damn fight!" Zarek snapped back. He immediately infused some of the Bolt Axe's power into the Silver Axe and began his Dual Lightning Axes technique. Electricity was now raging out of both axes as Zarek charged towards the man with the sword. And even though the sword gave the man an edge against Zarek, he wouldn't let that stop him. He clashed the Bolt Axe against the man's sword and sent electricity into him once more. The man didn't fall over this time, however, and kept his sword clashed into the axe.

"I won't go down easy!" he shouted." Zarek pushed harder against him and then struck with the electrified Silver Axe. The impact caused the man to almost fall over. Just in time, Zarek caught a glimpse of Lumis getting to his feet. However, he was focusing so much on him that Zarek didn't notice the sword man plunge his blade into his side, though not very deep.

"AAAUGH!" Zarek shouted in pain. Suddenly, he stumbled and caused the axes to electrocute him, knocking him to the ground.

"Augggh..." Zarek moaned as he got up. Both men were standing before him. Lumis spoke first.

"What are you, some kind of psycho?" he asked. "I can't allow such a person to be in my presence." With that, Lumis readied another attack, but Zarek forced himself to be faster.

"I feel the same about you, buddy," he said and scrambled to his feet. Deciding to try using Twister with both axes, Zarek began to spin wildly with both axes pointing in opposite directions. He struck both Lumis and the sword man, sending them to the ground again with electrocution. By now they were badly hurt, and Zarek was now coming to a halt in his spinning.

OoC: Think you guys can challenge THAT? ;P

OOc: hey, if you're new to rping, then let me give you a ZU welcome to the battle arena! Now, about how to pop in well, it could be any way you like! Bic:The mid-day sun was beating lazily down on the three figures standing facing each other in a clearing where I stood. The wind flicked drops of sweat from my forehead. "Hff, hff, hff, this guy's strong. his spiked shoulders give him protection from my blades there, but everywhere else is exposed. This guy is also slow, I can use that to my advantage. My thoughts shifted to Lumis as he got up.Damn! that guy can take a punch, I'll give him that. That electric shock knocked the breath out of me and I had my metal knobs and leather to absorb the shock. Wonder how he's doing?
Lumis got up, and he looked torn up. His shirt was completely blown off, revealing the white undershirt beneath it,and his pants had several rips in it from the blast. The thing that freaked me out the most was his eyes. They had no iris, his eyes completely white."You shouldn't have done this. now you will die" His voice shimmered like the heat coming off a flame, mixed in with the night sky.
Now Zarek spoke,"Want some more? BRING IT!!!"
" Well, as long as we'll be beating the guts out of each other presently, I'll introduce us. I'm Axen, that's Lumis, and you are?" I questioned
Zarek paused for a moment, then decided,"The name's Zarek, now, if you don't mind, can we get back to the gut-beatings?"
"Let the gut-beatings continue" I smoothly continued, then warped quickly behind him and jabbed at his back, but Zarek managed to twist his spine to glance my sword off of his spiked shoulders. I quickly followed up by swinging my blade low, which Zarek jumped over.Meanwhile, Lumis was charging for another light sphere, hoping to just knock Zarek unconscious.
"Light Sphere!" Lumis shouted as ti flew from his hand towards the airborne Zarek.
"Ommph!" came from the breath knocked out of him as Zarek flew into me. While Zarek was airborne, I preformed a ukemi and dodged out of the way of the landing Zarek. While Zarek was down, I charged lumis, doing a jump strike. then,when lumis backed up, I circled him, in an attempt to confuse him, threw Burn int lumis's staff, which he just spun to send me flying into the bamboo forest.
OOc: CJ OVERLOAD!!!!!!!! that and, let's get some bamboo in this bamboo forest.

OoC: Not to sound annoying, but don't make Lumis talk like that. It's not his personality at all.

BiC: Electrical attacks, axes, swords and a three person brawl. Not a good thing, Lumis thought to himself. Best course of action would be to go into Boost Form. The Elemental focused his energy to his feet. A ring of light appeared by his feet and slowly rose up engulfing him in pure light energy. As the light faded away, Lumis' new form was revealed. A visible white aura surrounded him and his eyes and hair turned completely white. Lumis concentrated to control his aura and it soon disappeared.

Zarek got up and was ready to attack. He charged both of his axes with lightning and struck the ground with them. Lumis stood on Illumis to avoid the electrified earth. Once it passed, the white haired man landed and disappeared from sight. Zarek stood in a defensive stance ready for an attack in any direction. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain on his left arm. He dropped one of his axes to the ground. Lumis reappeared with his hand glowing white right next to Zarek's face. With his right hand, the green haired warrior attacked with his electrically charged axe. Lumis blocked it with his wooden staff and fired a blast of light energy in his face. The blast knocked Zarek into the bamboo forest.

Zarek got up quickly but still felt pain in his left arm. It felt like his bicep was cramping up. He relaxed his arm and it soon felt completely better. However, he now only had one of his axes with him. "I can deal," he said quietly to himself. Just then, Axen appeared next to him and attacked. He blocked with his axe and sent an electrical current through Axen's sword. The shock caused him to drop his sword. Thinking fast, he caught the falling sword with his foot. Zarek came in with a horizontal strike, but Axen bent backwards to dodge it and kicked his sword behind him at the same time. He then teleported and caught his sword before it hit the ground.

"You are not my target," Axen said as he switched weapons. "But since you are interfering with my work, I have no choice but to eliminate you too."

"Enough talking!" Zarek screamed as he rushed towards the Hylian. Axen began swinging his weapon which caused some bamboo trees to fall. As the bamboo stalks fell, Lumis fell down from above and knocked Axen's sword out of his hands. He then turned around and faced his left palm out towards Zarek.

"Blind." The bright light blinded the axe wielder and caused him to trip. Axen retaliated with his other sword and cut Lumis' left leg. The Elemental jumped back and healed the wound almost instantly. Zarek got up and the three stood in a triangle staring each other down.

"Well," said Axen as he picked up his sword, "Who's gonna make the first move?" He started swinging it around as Lumis' aura began to shine and Zarek's axe discharged some electricity.

OOc: sorry, I have a difficult time rping others characters since I don't have the image of him in my mind. No offense taken, just straight-up rping!

Bic: As I stood near Lumis, I could feel his aura, felt his power. Zarek, stood not a few yards away, a distance I knew he could easily close in half a second. The sweat was beading on my face as the intensity of the stares boring into me, searching for an opening, whether it be physical or mental. I needed to be resourceful, cunning, and above all, I needed a plan. But what to do? Zarek has me on blade-work with that electric axe. Lumis has me in maneuvering with his style and pressure points. On the ground no, around the back no, so the only option left to me is the air. Let's just hope Lumis doesn't have me on air.
With that, I cut a few more trees down and used one for a ramp which I then used to jump on top of the bamboo stalks. Lumis jumped up and landed lithely on a bamboo stick.
Hff, hff,I'm starting to wear out. A long battle is a bad one. I can use some of my reserves to alleviate the exhaustion but the question is, how tired are they? Wait! The leather! That's what's making me so exhausted!So I threw off my jacket, making me quicker and more agile.
OOc: yeah, not so good at controlling others.

OoC: I guess it's my turn now, eh?

BiC: "I've had enough of this nonsense," Zarek said to himself as the three warriors simply stood there. He picked up the axe he'd dropped and began to walk off. Lumis spoke up before he could get far, however.

"And where do you think you're going?" he asked.

"As far away from here as possible!" Zarek shouted back. With that, he continued walking, but Axen would not let him leave.

"I don't think so! I'm not through with you yet!" the Hylian exclaimed in anger. Fully expecting such a reaction, Zarek listened as Axen began to charge at him and suddenly threw the Bolt Axe in the Hylian's direction like a boomerang, striking him in the upper arm. The impact knocked Axen to the ground and sent an electrical shock through him. The Bolt Axe flew right back into Zarek's hand after impact. Lumis's eyes widened a little after witnessing this.

"AAAAAH! What the--?!" Axen screamed.

"I knew one of you would fall for my trap," Zarek said with a proud smile. "Honestly, I would love to give both of you morons the beating of your lives right now for ruining my lunch and dragging me into your petty game."

"So he can use that electric axe like a hand axe too..." Lumis mumbled to himself. Knowing now that Zarek could attack directly or indirectly told them there was no way to get out of his range quickly.

Even so, Zarek's main concern was the advantage Axen had with his sword. If the Hylian realized it well enough, Zarek could find himself in a tough situation, one he often tried to avoid. He could never seem to find a way around professional sword users, especially if they were able to attack indirectly with some sort of magic attack. Otherwise, Zarek's Bolt Axe could help, but then again, sword users were normally faster and had a better chance of dodging.

"I won't stand here and listen to you talk trash about me!" I exclaimed in rage and charged Zarek again. Zarek, not expecting this, just swung his bolt axe, as compared to a prepared move. This I slid under, while stabbing Zarek in the ankle. Howling in pain, Zarek swung his silver axe wildly in front of him. I need better terrain, this just isn't working out. Getting one of his axes out of his hands might give me a better chance of success.
