Guilty untill proven otherwize [Shadow Samus]
OoC: I know this is a battle with a unapproved character. Please approve him instead of deleting this.
The town was unknown to him. He had never been there before, and he had never heard it's name when he was small. A pretty anonymous town, full of wooden buildings and dusty roads, and the smell of death in the air. It was what some people would call a "Western Town", if they had seen films like Citizen Kane or the likes. I had never seen western films... As I walked down the road of dirt, a building on my left caught my attention. It was sprawling with life, I could almost sense people fighting, and there was food to buy there. My reading had never been good, but I didn't make any sense of the sign above the house anyway, a Saloon, whatever that was. I walked up to the doors, which was of a different kind than those I knew. They were small, and did not cover the whole doorway. And they had no locks. How did they keep thieves out, I wondered and pushed the swing doors open. It took a little while for my human eyes to accommodate from the blazing sun outside to the dim ambient light inside the house. But as I went over to the person I believed was the man I had to speak to for food, I noticed that the saloon was divided into two groups. In one end, people looking like those I had seen walking in the city sat, talking silently among themselves. And in the other, a group of four guys, clad in a completely different clothing, talked loudly to each other. It was clear that the town folks didn't like the other group. "Give me a steak and some potatoes," I demanded of the man behind the counter, throwing some coins at the desk at the same time. He grunted, but took my money and went through a backdoor to a kitchen of sorts. It smelled good, and I found myself noticing that the door he had passed through was not like the doors I had entered the building through, but a normal door. Why would I think of that?, I wondered as I sat down in an unoccupied corner, facing both the other groups. instinctive I knew the foreigners were dangerous and that I should be careful of them; they reeked of dead dragons. The steak came, and I ate quietly. OoC: After eating, he'll go outside and happen to stumble upon some people mugging a woman and a child as you say. So you may either start by coming to the city, or assume Derek have eaten and is already at the crime scene. |
