Nocturnal Sightings (Shadow Samus)

OoC: Okay, this battle involves my character, Judo, and SS's character Akane. Let the fun begin. ;D

Oh hey SS, btw, if you ever battle Judo multiple times, I may throw in his wife or daughter as an NPC. They're only minor appearances, though.

BiC: "Dad, come on! Let me go with you!" Mayula begged, desperate to show her father she was better with her dual blades than he thought.

"May, I told you, it's too risky in the dark," Judo replied in a firm voice. "Now go make sure your mother knows I'm going out for awhile. I can never decide on a routine with these night shifts..."

"Alright..." Mayula gave in and sighed. She turned around and began to reenter Hyrule Castle. "But Dad, wait, if I don't ever get to practice my skills in the dark, how am I ever going to learn night combat?"

"Don't worry, I have that covered. It isn't like I do this every night," Judo replied with a smile. Mayula sighed, nodded, and disappeared into the castle. Judo mounted Duke, his fine gray, black-maned steed, and rode off for the region behind the castle. On some nights he would go into Hyrule Field while on others he'd go just outside the kingdom. Judo always went alone to ensure enough rest to the castle soldiers. He was also pretty sufficient on his own due to the fact he was no doubt the strongest of the entire Hyrulean army, both in skill and power.

No matter how strong or powerful he was, however, Judo still needed to be very cautious, especially at night. Not all kinds of enemies were easy opponents for him and who knows what creatures may exist outside of Hyrule and beyond. Knowing this, Judo usually traveled around safely and efficiently, navigating carefully in the process. He soon arrived on a path behind the castle and left Hyrule upon it. Judo didn't go far, however, until his sixth sense told him something didn't feel right.

Judo slowed Duke down to a trot and kept his pointed ears open and his eyes pealed. Something felt strange...it felt as if he was being watched. The darkness could not reveal enough to show any figures nearby, unfortunately, but that didn't stop Judo from being as careful as he could. Suddenly, a ruffling noise sounded forth not far to the knight's left. Judo immediately brought his horse to a halt and dismounted. Noticing a large boulder nearby, Judo quietly led Duke behind it to make it less apparent that he was present and then tip toed back across the path, listening for more noises.

As he slowly examined his surroundings, Judo could find nothing, but still heard the noises every once in awhile. Suddenly, just as he was facing the boulder again, a shrieking growl sounded from behind him and out leaped a pair of Moblins, pig-like creatures who wielded lances. Judo turned around at blinding speed and gasped. He was barely fast enough to draw his sword, Arion and block the first Moblin's attack.

"Graaagh!" Judo shouted, pushing against the creature as hard as he could. The second Moblin had missed and crashed to the ground. Judo, having well above average physical strength, managed to throw the first Moblin off of him and send it back into the bushes. Almost instantly, the second one charged at Judo, only to miss as the knight stepped aside and struck him in the back. Normally Judo would block the attack, but it wasn't necessary this time. Judo stabbed Arion into the ground and flipped himself over into a Sword Kick to finish off the creature, just in time to return his attention to the first Moblin.

Before he could attack, however, Judo heard a new noise coming from above. He looked upward to see the silhouette of what appeared to be a flying human. Blocking the Moblin's attack while he was doing so, Judo couldn't take his eyes off of the flying creature above him. For some reason, although it stayed a silhouette, it appeared to get closer...and closer...

OoC: And that's your cue, SS. The flying creature Judo sees is Akane transformed into Ahiga.

OoC: I know my own character/bird person, Ranny. *laughs* And that's not bad.

BiC:

Ahiga was up in the sky as usual, doing his nightly rounds just outside the country of Hyrule. The scenery was breathtaking from the ground, but up in the air... He jolted back into reality, taking himself out of his nosedive from thousands of feet in the air. Ahiga shook his head, letting the hair fall neatly back into place. I should remember that I'm not in my land anymore... Too easy to get sidetracked here...

The Angel swapped at a bird with his Raven black wing, smirking. Even the animals looked different here, he thought. Taking another look around, Ahiga dove down a few thousand feet, watching the Moblins and other creatures of the countries converse and fight each other.

He shot like a rocket closer to the border of the two countries, peering out at the lustrous Hyrule Castle in the distance. Suddenly, a noise hit him from far below, like the sounds of a Human struggling against something. Ahiga folded his wings in, dropping out of the sky like a silenced rifle shot, snapping his wings out to level himself as he plowed in the attacking Moblin, snapping its neck on impact.

The Angel rolled onto his feet from the jarring landing, standing and brushing dust off of his black outfit. He ruffled his wings, shaking the dust from them as well, causing a dust cloud to rain around him. Ahiga turned to the tall man, noting that he was Hylian.

"Hm, couldn't take a Moblin?"

OoC: I was only making sure.

BiC: The voice startled Judo as he turned to face the black-wearing winged human standing before him. He shook his head in surprise before answering.

"Hey, I don't know who in Hyrule you are, but there was actually another Moblin here that I already finished," Judo replied. "They're nothing to me."

"If you say so," the winged human replied. "You may call me Ahiga, the legendary Dark Angel."

"Okay, and why exactly are you so close by to my home of Hyrule?" Judo asked as he kept Arion gripped in his hand. He felt it too risky to sheathe it now.

"That's none of your business."

"Well guess what, smart aleck, it's my job to know what shady characters like you are up to!"

"Oh really?" Ahiga didn't seem to be interested in buying Judo's remark.

"I am General Judo, commander of the Royal Knights of Hyrule," Judo replied, twirling Arion once in his hand. "If I deem it necessary, I could send a whole squad of men after you."

"Psh, what are you, too afraid to fight me yourself?" Ahiga retorted. That got Judo going. Grimacing and fighting the urge to teach the guy a lesson, he could feel his anger building up in his mind. However, remembering certain things his wife, Kelli, has said to him in the past, Judo tried hard to keep from losing his mind and getting as reckless as he was known to be.

"For your information, I never said anything about not attempting to fight you myself before sending in back up!" Judo snapped back.

"I don't even know why I'm still listening to this," Ahiga said and turned around. "It's my business and my business alone about what I'm up to. And I warn you not to get in my way." With that, the dark angel turned around and began to unfold his wings to fly away. Judo, having secretly sheathed his sword for a plan, reacted quickly.

"Oh no you don't!" he shouted and swiftly seized the man by his hands. Judo's tight grip made Ahiga wince, and the knight swung him around in the other direction, slamming the angel into the ground afterwards. Judo still had the man's hands in his own and kept them behind Ahiga's back.

"You're not going anywhere until I find out if you're involved with evil!" Judo said. "Judging by your appearance, many of the Hyruleans would more than fear you."

OoC: And the battle begins.

OoC: Awesome.

BiC:

The Dark Angel struggled, the man heavier than he was by a long shot. He needed to get out of his grip, but how? All of a sudden, a thought occured to him. Since he's well protected, a single, well placed shot could be aimed...

He quickly wrested his hands from his assailant, a sphere of Dark Energy covering Judo's hands.

"So long as that covers your hands, your sword is useless." Ahiga wasn't in the mood to fight, but adrenaline in his system had already kicked in, making him stand on edge. "And like I said before, my business is my business. I need not tell you if I mean you any harm or not, since you're clearly too stupid to figure that out."

At that remark, he watched the Hylian charge at him, apparent anger in his eyes from the insult. The Angel snapped his wings out, using them as a shield as the soldier rammed into them, bouncing off like a ball on a wall.

OoC: Hehe...eh. Judo's already in a tight situation. >_<

BiC: "AUGH!" Judo exclaimed as he went crashing to the ground.

"How in blazes am I supposed to figure that out myself?!" he retorted, struggling to free his hands from the dark magic. If he couldn't use his sword or dagger, he couldn't fight much at all, save for his martial arts skills, and even those might not be enough. There must be some way to deal with this, Judo thought. He almost wished Link or Princess Zelda were there with a Light Arrow, but then decided it's best if he figured out a way to deal with it himself for future reference. With that, Judo scrambled to his feet as fast as he could, jumped, and landed his feet right into Ahiga's gut. Ahiga, since Judo's legs were so strong, went flying into a tree behind him. Judo had already started bolting away as fast as he could to try anything possible to get the dark magic off of his hands. However, since his armor slowed him down, he could not run real fast.

Judo hadn't run far when he heard the sound of water rippling. He followed his ears and soon came to a small pond. With no time to spare, he immediately dunked his hands into the water and, to his astonishment, the magic weakened quickly. Within a minute or so, it was gone, freeing Judo's hands at last. Knowing now water was a weakness to Ahiga's magic, Judo jumped into the water to completely soak himself. Staying in for less than a minute, Judo had returned to the land just in time to see another sphere of dark magic flying towards him.

"Oh no you don't! Not this time!" Judo shouted. He quickly drew Arion again and deflected it back with a swing of the blade. The only time Judo could fight against magic was a time like this.

"Graagh!" came Ahiga's voice again. The dark magic must have struck him. However, since he was a dark creature, Judo didn't expect it to have done much.

OoC: Judo is awesome, but Ahiga isn't harmed by Dark Magic. ^_^

BiC:

The Dark Angel slid back a couple of feet, the small singe on his cape nothing to him at the moment. If nothing, the reflected magic gave him time to absorb its energy, replenishing what he lost when he bound Judo's hands.

Smirking, Ahiga stood erect in his spot, Nier drawn as well. "You really think that Dark Magic can harm me? Foolish creature."

By now, the Hylian Soldier had had enough of his smart remarks, charging at him with his blade in hand. Ahiga stood at the ready, the Silver of their blades gleaming in the Full Moon.

Another growl like earlier sounded, followed by what appeared to be another twenty or so. Oh, great... more of these things? I don't have time for this.

Soon, the Dark Angel was up in the air, covering a few of the monsters with his Dark Magic...

OoC: That's why Judo figured it wouldn't do much.

BiC: "Wow, you're even more idiotic than I thought," Judo remarked. "Of course I knew dark magic wouldn't harm you much, if at all. It's common sense." Just as he'd said this, however, more of the noises Judo had heard when he first entered the area sounded forth, coming from behind Ahiga.

"Terrific. Just what I need..." Judo said with sarcasm and sighed. Seconds later, though, he thought of an idea. The Moblins would be perfect to show Ahiga how strong and powerful he really was. With that, Judo twirled Arion in his hand once more and charged at the monsters. After Ahiga had casted his magic again, he watched as Judo first comboed a Sword Kick with a Helm Splitter, effectively striking two monsters at once. The young knight noticed little more than a few Moblins coming for him at once, and, barely able to do so, swung his cape around the closest Moblin to him. Ahiga's eyes widened a little as Judo performed a Blade Storm and took down almost every Moblin that surrounded him.

"Believe I can take a Moblin now?" Judo asked the dark angel as he finished off the last one near him with a Mortal Draw.

"I must admit, that was impressive," Ahiga replied. "But those creatures are weak."

"And I have to agree," Judo agreed, thinking about his dagger at the moment. "I've destroyed enemies much more powerful than these in the past."

"Oh really?" Ahiga remarked. "Well let's see if I don't become one of them!" With that, the angel charged at Judo with his own sword, and the two had clashed blades. Judo pushed against Ahiga with all his might and it wasn't long before the angel became impressed once more, but this time with Judo's physical strength. The knight's muscles bulged to their biggest as he pushed against Ahiga's own strength.

Ahiga didn't budge, still in midair as they clashed blades. Talk was cheap, and this sucker liked it a lot. It would be his downfall. Using his wings, the Angel created a gust from a series of short, powerful down strokes in front of him, slowly bringing Judo's sword down from their necks.

While they struggled, a black fire slowly surrounded them, not burning or searing anything save for the Moblins that dared enter it. It made the area around the two combatants icy cold, the moon blocked from view by the ever looming pillars of flame.

Ahiga finally broke the clash, soaring up into the air until he was high enough to teleport. I hope this works... A Silver flute appeared in his hand, the metal cool to the touch. He placed its golden headjoint to his lips and began to play a haunting melody, teleporting in various places around the Hylian. Just need to buy some time... As the tempo of his music increased, so did the number of fire pillars surrounding them...

"What the--?!" Judo exclaimed. "AAAH!" The music being played by Ahiga was so loud and painful that Judo covered his ears almost immediately and started to run off in hopes it would die down as he got farther. Much to his pleasure, it had, but it wasn't enough to keep Judo's hearing at normal level. it degraded quite a bit, almost to the point of deafness. The knight hoped to god it wasn't permanent.

"Ugh...I can't...hear well..." he stammered. Still, he tried to listen closely, and listened very very hard. Judo listened so hard, he barely made out the sound of Ahiga's wings once again. The sudden loss in hearing had also suddenly increased his vision, so many objects had become quite clear around him. Judo easily spotted Ahiga diving towards him and held up his sword once more to block the attack. Seconds after that, Judo slammed Ahiga's sword to the ground with Arion and quickly brought his blade up for a strike in the gut, which was a Shield Draw.

"AAAAUGH!" Ahiga shouted, the pain ever so great.

"Nice strategy, but it's a well known fact that the loss of one sense enhances another," Judo commented. "Even then, I didn't go completely deaf anyway."

Ahiga slowly attempted to get up, and Judo just stood there, his long cape flowing in the wind. Because he had no reason to, he chose not to instantly kill the angel.

He smirked, the fire still closing in around them. His gut hurt a good deal, but he ignored the pain, using it to fuel his anger and magic.

"You forgot about one thing, you overzealous little soldier. One thing I noticed about you is that you talk too much. Too much."

"Wha- What does that mean?!"

Ahiga jumped into the air, careful not to extend his wings too far as he flipped over the pillars of fire, closing them off to make a cage.

"You can't even see that my magic not only deafens you, but scorches you." He watched as Judo's clothes automatically began drying, using another dark orb on his blade. The magic began to cover it, engulfing his hand. It'll still hurt me, but you won't have a chance to kill me with it. Ahiga spoke into his mind, a gleam in his blood red eye.

OoC: Oh, goodie, perfect.

BiC: "Hehe, did you really think I didn't anticipate this?" Judo asked with a smile indicating he had his own tricks. "I knew you'd eventually disable the use of my sword again."

"What?!" Ahiga gasped. "What do you mean?"

"I mean this." With that, Judo walked up to Ahiga and paused for a moment. Then, without warning, Judo made his dagger appear in his left hand and slashed the angel in his magic-dealing arm in an attempt to disable him as well using a Mortal Draw.

"No efficient soldier is without a back up weapon," Judo said. "I've also practiced using both hands to fight."

"You...you..." Ahiga mumbled, the wound he had just now received being serious enough for him to clutch it hard. Judo glanced around as Ahiga pulled himself together in hopes of finding a way back to the lake again, but escape seemed impossible at the moment. Without his sword, Judo could not fight nearly as well as he would with it usable, whether he was using his dagger or martial arts skills.

Still, one way or another he had to get the dark magic off. He thought of one other thing that could possibly break it: light. But with it so dark outside, light seemed to be impossible to find.
