Cops and Robbers (Altamira)
(Sorry about it's length... Mirage's first Rp.)
Mirage went into another back-flip, for the last part of her routine she's done to collect some money, before ending it with a second one up onto a wall, and landing next to the open bag to her right. Random people gasped and clapped, before the familiar jingle of coins was heard, going into the small bag for the eighth time today. After the small crowd dispersed, the rouge battle mage picked up the bag and glanced at it for a moment, before looking skyward. Night was quickly falling around the town of Fredra, the second northern neighbor to Krienshal. Time went by quickly... but this still isn't enough for Richard...he won't be able to feed his family for the next month, and I told him I could help. The world to her was the same, only night made the blacks more dominant, due to the mage being fully colorblind. Even with my sight changed, I thankfully can tell how much is in here, since only the coin size is different... if I was anywhere else, I would have trouble with different colored coins... Fredra stood within the slowly growing woods, which started at the mountains above. It looked like an old village, with stone streets, and high walls around most of the place. It had been at one time, a fort during a now ancient war. Scars from it have been covered up over time, however, and not many people recall it, minus the story from books. Most buildings still where wooden, besides the random stone ones around the central town square. She went on her way, tucking the bag of coins into one of her pant's pockets, which was mostly hidden due to the two leather panels that formed a dress whenever she stopped. The silver bells on the teen jingled as she walked around, looking mostly normal, minus her faint tanned skin making her pale green eyes eve more obvious. The beige sleeves fluttered in the cooling air, which didn't bother the female at all. Glancing around as a visitor normally would do, she was actually stalking people, and waiting to steal some coins from them. Her targets were the more wealthy folks, however, since they didn't care much about the poor, to her at least. I'm not doing anything bad by taking from them, the rich have a ton more, why should they keep it all...?

Re: Cops and Robbers (Altamira)
The Chief of Fredra's police force slid the file into her hands, with a clearing of his throat to halt her first before she dove into the reading.
"We were sent this file by the Krienshal force, who have been after this girl for months. So far no actual encounters have been had with her in this town, so... I'm afraid I can't confirm or elaborate on anything in the file." Tracey nodded, maybe with a tiny hint of disdain in the gesture. A criminal crosses into your city, and you don't immediately make an effort to track them and find out more information for yourself? That seemed sloppily police work to her. She wondered what kind of show this Chief was running. "Let's see..." The manila folder flipped open, its crease cradled between her forefinger and thumb as she began to flip through, eyes scanning every last word. Name: Mirage Known Aliases: Kaleidoscope Wanted for: theft, suspect of murder and public property damage Age: seems about 16 or 17 Gender: Female Eyes: Pale green, although vague reports of others have come in. Most reports dismissed through lack of photographic evidence. Hair: Dark brown, worn in ponytail with silver bells. Tracey stopped there. Silver bells!? she thought, looking now at the chief with even more disappointment, Why, isn't that how the saying goes about tying some bells onto the stealthy cat's collar so you know it's coming? How have they missed finding a girl who wears bells? The chief seemed to notice this pause of hers, and nodded for her to go on reading. Height: 5’ 2” Weight: 115 lbs. Notes: The criminal carries two knives. An officer reported burn marks left on his hands after disarming her and trying to take one of the aforementioned knives. Criminal wears leather armor. Thought to be capable of magic, although there are only few witnesses of it. Agile. Thought to be colorblind, perhaps even fully. Clever. Potentially very dangerous. Finally, Tracey closed the case file again and stared into the middle distance beyond the chief, lost in her own thoughts and the new facts swimming in her head. This case... it seemed an interesting one, without a lot of definites. This girl was either a very peculiar thief, or... a dangerous murderer and destroyer of city property. Those were some pretty wildly different extremes. She seemed to have magic... the detective had had bad luck against criminal mages in the past, but... maybe with her goggles, and other gadgets, she'd be more successful. However this would turn out, she was excited to see it through. "I'll take the case, Sir!"

Re: Cops and Robbers (Altamira)
Mirage continued to stalk around, before she suddenly vanished into thin air, and reappeared a moment later, looking no different than before. She actually had taken a small bag of coins from a wealthy lady dressed in silk. Just a small satchel, nothing more. The woman most likely has a bunch more, especially in that larger purse she carries about hoarding everything as usual, while other's suffer in poverty... Sickening.
The bells on her didn't ring out at all when she had vanished, which was a big help to her. Can't steal anything if my bells give me away... even though I can pickpocket normally without them ringing, thanks to my training with my dad. The rouge battle mage walked onwards, heading off to see the man she promised to help, Richard. All that she knew about this man was that his wife recently had died, and left their five kids with him. He had tried to get some help money-wise and find a job, but was turned down everywhere, most likely due to he had a peg-leg and was missing half of his left arm from his past. The teen sprinted down the road, and turned down an alley as a shortcut, the bells on her jingling. She continued past the police station and continued onwards, most of the city was a blur to her, despite being mostly gray and black to her sight.

Re: Cops and Robbers (Altamira)
And so the "bulldog of Rochester" was on the case.
The chief hardly had time to provide her with a map of the city and a new radio to contact them with before she was out the door, straining her ears and scanning the crowds for anything out of the ordinary. The goggles were on, toggling between views: body heat, x-ray vision, ultraviolet, thaumaturgical--that mode that could see magic particles and masses of magic, and had proven to be probably the most useful in her chases back in Rubato. There was a faint trace of... gray? Just little bits, like dust, in that view, scattered along the street. With nothing else to go off of for the moment, Tracey followed it, bumping into people and stands with no magic to boast and therefore no presence in the magical view of things. After bumping into a display of melons, and paying the vendor back for the sixteen (Tracey had counted and insisted it was more like ten, but when the man started to shout in another language, she simply gave in to shut him up) melons that had rolled off down the street to be crushed, she began to lose the trail. The magic was still there, yes, but... it didn't go in any single direction, and it seemed to cross over itself and double-back, like the source had been all over the city. She remembered the file, and went to her next best lead: the bells. She hadn't heard them herself yet, but... perhaps someone else had. And that was how the "bulldog" ended up knocking on the door of every house, asking anyone who actually answered despite seeing that it was a cop if they had heard some bells pass by. In her own roundabout way, she was working her way towards the tiny, broken-down house where the man named Richard and his five children lived.

Re: Cops and Robbers (Altamira)
Her jingling bells began to slow down, as she approached Richard’s door, and knocked on it once. A rhythmic thumping came from inside the door a moment later, followed by the aging and worn voice of a man, “I’ma comin’…! Give me a min.” He peeked out from the sliver of the door’s opening next, “Yes’um? What you want, miss?”
Mirage took out the now medium sized bag, with all of the money she’s gained so far. “You asked for my help, since you weren’t going to be able to feed your children. Here, I hope this can help. I’ve checked it to make sure it was enough.” She held out the bag to the man, as he opened the door more. Richard seemed to blend in with his darkening home, mostly due to his skin was a dark tone, and sagged with age. His outfit, just a shirt and pants, seemed to show age as well, mostly being slightly torn and dingy. “Oh… you must be Bell. Sorry, misseh, I didn’t remember yah from earlier.” Nodding, he took the bag from her. “Is there anything I can do fer yah, Bell?” Mirage took a small breath, resting from her slight run, even though she could keep going if she had to. “Yes. I’m not in any trouble, just a bit cautious… can you not tell anyone that you saw me?” Richard calmly nodded, “That I can misseh. Thank you for yer help.” With that the man slowly turned away, closing the door behind him and the rhythmic thumping faded away as he walked away from the door. The rouge battle mage, however, had already vanished and was standing on a roof of an abandoned building nearby, easily out of the sight of the townspeople as she looked around for a moment. It was easy form her to get there, since unlike most people, she could walk on the walls. Hm… still unable to recall anything. Meh, I’ll have to give it a while, not going to be able to regain everything in one day…
