Misty Mountain Hop (Bee-Jay)
You can do this, man! You've spent days, nay, weeks training for this! Will you chicken out at the last minute just because of some pointy rock?"
A very large pointy rock. Wimp. The mental battle spanned the course of an hour and thrity minutes but it felt like decades. Finally Theo took the plunge. As his wings curled around his body and he dropped through the air at a high speed his mind was free to wander. His thoughts centered around how bat**** crazy what he was doing was. As the cold air burned his cheeks and the rush of excitement that only free-fall could give welled up inside him his thoughts turned to what he was doing. After several days of diving and pulling out of them Theo recognized his limits and then began the process of raising them. He found the easiest way to measure the distance from dive point to ground was to find the height of a mountain then dive from the peak of it. He was now in the process of making his biggest dive. Everything was going according to plan until a large flock of birds decided to get themselves killed. Theo smashed through the birds, ripping them apart with sheer speed. The remainder of the birds chased after Theo, pecking at as much of him as possible. They pierced his skin and blood began to pour out. He wished he didn't have to but he knew he'd have to kill the birds. He opened his wings out and his joints ached from the strain of going from terminal velocity to a hover in seconds. He spun several times and the angry birds scattered away. With low morale and weak joints all Theo could do was summon his armor and hope for the best. He slowly slipped out of conciousness and flew straight into the side of a mounatain. He rolled down the side of the mountain with a chorus of bangs and clangs from his armor that would likely attract the local wildlife. |

Re: Misty Mountain Hop (Bee-Jay)
OoC: Ok, changed my mind, I'm gonna use Maloe. =D
--- The sky was a deep blue, and Maloe was but a small eruption in it's vastness dome. Her wings fluttered in weak, but harmonious beats, sounding less like an annoying dragonfly and more like a pleasant faerie creature that she was. Her match would flip flop on her back as the wind blew on, under, over, and around her, making a consistent ding as she continued to fly on. Mountains were surrounding her, though as intimidating as they were, she loved being such a small being amongst nature's biggest natural beasts. She was just moving on with her life, or career per say, which summoned her to this area. Her armor shone under the sunlight; and just when she was beginning to enjoy herself, something interrupted her pleasing thoughts with a blop on the head. Whatever is was felt gooey as it seeped through her tasseled head of jet black hair. "The hell?" Maloe swore as she stopped suddenly, her finger tips curiously roaming the top of her head, immersing themselves in goo. She brought her hands down and her eyes widened as she began to realize what exactly fell on her head. "DEAD BIRD!?" Maloe yelled, as much as her tiny lung could manage. Maloe's face turned into sheer horror as she instantaneously began to freak out and feverishly attempt to bat whatever remains were in her hair. She began to pant, and soon grabbed for her match stick, flicked it against her armor and an explosion of small but burning hot flames reflected off her panicked face. She fumbled with it for a moment, and then felt a slight burning sensation relief her skull of all dead bird remains. "So... disgusting.." Maloe breathed with disgust, "Gosh!" As Maloe slowly floated down to the side of a enormous moutain, suddenly, it was like the sun was eclipsed, and Maloe's head shot up towards the peak of the moutain, her mind much more alert, "Huh?" It started as a small silhouette and was turning bigger as Maloe continued to stare at whatever it was that was approaching her. As the size expanded, she picked up the wings that were sprouting out, and soon.. "Oh shi- Maloe didn't have time to react, as she was hit with a brute force of what felt like a heavy body. Her body was stuck to it, as they both picked up a significant about of speed tumbling down the rocky decline towards the ground. |

Re: Misty Mountain Hop (Bee-Jay)
While unconcious Theo tumbled down the side of the mountain, bruising most of his body and cutting his lower lip.
He woke up on his back in a flat area of the mountain's side. He stood up and felt something against his right thigh. "Gah, moose sh-- Oh wait." Theo looked at what was stuck to his leg and realized it wasn't what he thought it was. It came off his armor with a light tug and he held the little creature by the wings between the thumb and finger on his left hand while massaging his head with his right. He shoke the unconcious creature and said, "Hello there." The creature's eyes snapped open and started kicking its feet and swing its arms while screaming, "Let go of me!" "First, tell me who you are," Theo replied, not thinking the bug-person thing to be a threat. OoC: A bit short but things'll pick up. ![]() |

Re: Misty Mountain Hop (Bee-Jay)
OoC: Bahaha. Beautiful. xD
--- Maloe's eyes flared with a feverish temper, the steam literally smoking out of her ears, and she was seething words through her clenched teeth, "What's yer bloody problem?" The man, big, cut, bleeding and bruised had an amused smirk across his face. Maloe noticed this, and her nostrils flared. She looked totally ridiculous flailing about in a blind rage, smaller than six inches, as if she was about to lay the death sentence on this brute. "Let a' go!" She yelled, her small voice box, booming out quite the deafening tone, "When I get free, yer ass is going to be smoking!" The fairy princess hated being held like this, especially by humans. She found it totally condescending to be imprisoned by a mere thumb and index finger. Oh, how she wish she had her match with her. Where was it? Her eyes darted about the rocky surroundings. She needed it. Or else she would be like this until the human decided to release her; such are the drawbacks to being five inches tall. "I hate you." Maloe breathed, letting her body go limp, in temporary defeat. |

Re: Misty Mountain Hop (Bee-Jay)
"Hate's a storong word for one so weak," Theo said with a smug smile. He always felt powerful around shorter people. Maybe it was that he could punt them if they said something he didn't like or maybe it was the face that they made good arm or foot rests.
Sadly, this person was too small to punt and much too small to rest an arm or foot on. He ran through possibilities of getting rid of the creature and finally settled on a good one. Make the fairy thing a baseball and his staff the bat. A golden mist appeared around his hand as he asked, "Have you ever been hit by a high-speed piece of wood before?" OoC: You don't know how fun that was to write. x3 |

Re: Misty Mountain Hop (Bee-Jay)
OoC: So awesome. :3
---- Maloe stared at the man hard and deep, her eyes becoming slits, glaring, "You wouldn't." She stared around for a moment longer as the man entertained the thought in his head, a little absentmindedly. Her lovely splinter of a match caught her eye and she was overcome with a wave of glee. Now was her chance, and as the man was still in his movie land - probably playing out the scene of Maloe flying several hundred kilometers an hour - and blast his finger tips away in a flame of pain. Her wings rufflied against his fingers momentarily and then the flames came faster than she expected; she thought it might be due to how furious she was, but she yelled a shout of triumph as the man's fingers broke away, and she fell towards the ground, being pulled by gravity. She stretched out her wings and the wind caught her just in time, a few inches from the ground. She fluttered around the man's head as he shook his fingers about, trying to relief the pain. "You doofus." Maloe yelled venomously, "You were just about to use me as a baseball." Maloe rolled her eyes and rested a top a nearby oak branch, "The nerve." |

Re: Misty Mountain Hop (Bee-Jay)
"Well I can't imagine what other purpose someone of your stature would serve," Theo called up to the flaming fairy thing. His fingers hurt but seeing the little creature's anger allowed him to ignore it a bit.
Theo jumped up, opened his wings, and began the process of un-summoning his armor. After a few seconds Theo felt weight disappear from him and he was gree again. He expertly twirled his staff and put it in the other hand behind his back while it was still twilring. The fairy was still angry but Theo detected a hint of interest in the fairy's eyes. Theo stopped the twirling upruptly and swung the staff about a meter below where the fairy was resting. The tree shook from the hit and the fairy's eyes were filled with complete anger once more. "So were you put in the wash as a kid or something? How'd you get so small?" Theo asked hoping the size comments would hit a nerve. |
