In the Air Tonight (Beh)
(OoC: Sunfall means evening, moonwake is night. Life Spark is what she calls the electricity she uses, as well as normal electricity. First Rp using Amberstone.)
BiC: The sunfall’s air began to chill even more as moonwake came. Her breath matched the light gray clouds, only not as solid. I’ve flown for a while now, glad I’m not tired… for the moment… Her muddy yellow eyes began to squint as the light decreased, still learning how to see well at night. Amberstone’s copper scales gleamed, only broken by the light tan skin that made up most of her wings. The young gargoyle enjoyed drifting along the wind, thankful that the currents were strong up here. Glancing downward, she saw a dull yellow field giving way to the fading green of a forest. Her Life Spark faintly crackled along her body, mostly gathering on her paws and tail. Every now and then, she beat her wings, the drumming was the only sound among the wind’s cry. Hm? A black dot came into her sight, and the Vassyr hybrid turned towards it, and flapped her wings more to rise above it. What is that…? She wanted to drift slowly past whatever it was, but the wind had another idea, and pulled her right past it. She felt her tail smack against something solid, as the wind yanked her along. An angered voice rose out of the wind, “Hey!”

Re: In the Air Tonight (Beh)
Air whistled around the winged man as he sored through the air, beating his wings every few seconds. As the sun began to sink below the horizon Theodor needed to beat his wings more and more due to the lack of thermals. For fun he rolled to the side and did several dives all while punching and kicking an imaginary enemy. After beating the imaginary foe to a pulp Theo stopped and stared into the sun while contemplating various things. After several minutes of flying the ground below him turned to a dull looking field that he he saw gave way to an emerald green forset in the distance.
In the distance he saw what appeared to be an eagle flying below him. He curled his wings around his slightly chilled body and he sank down quickly. As he fell he realized he had judged the distance incorrectly and the animal was not an eagle but something larger and therefore, closer. When he was closer to the creature he opened up his wings and a gust of air caught him and threw him slightly higer in the air. The creature turned towards him and looked at him with brown eyes that showed the spark of intelligence that only sentinent beings had. Moments later it felt like the beast whacked him with it's tail though it was actually him hitting the tail. "Hey!" he shouted. "This is my sky!" as he said this he realized the spark of intelligence didn't mean the beast wasn't evil. It was arguable that people were more evil than animals like sharks or lions. As this thought passed through his mind gold mist appeared around his entire body and even more around his hands. The mist disappeared and revealed Theo covered in gold armor and wielding a long staff. In an attempt to disrupt the beast's flight he attempted to stab the metal tip therough the its wing. When electricity arced to the metal point Theo dropped his staff in surprise. Hopping the beast wouldn't take advantage of his momentary lapse in defence he flipped over and curled his wings around his body. The teardrop shape made him sink through the air quickly. After a moment of free fall Theo's wings opened while his hand darted out to catch the staff. His hand gripped the wood tightly as he craned his neck to see what the monster above him was doing. (OoC: First post with Theodor so please forgive me if it takes me awhile to get in character.) |

Re: In the Air Tonight (Beh)
(OoC: Sorry if this is a bit short/ bad... >.> I also didn't want to start the fight too quickly, since I wouldn't know how your character would move... <.<)
So… this human wants to play…? Ok. Amberstone looked at the odd human with some curiosity, as she turned around, not being able to hover. “First time I’ve seen a human like you…” Her voice had the hint of a playful growl in it, before the gargoyle dived closer to him. “First time I’ve heard a beast talk.” The winged man still held his wooden pole close to him, the still ongoing sunfall‘s light made his armor glint, it almost matched her own scale color. The air around her swirled, aiding her attempt to hover, before she decided on something. “Mind if we play together…?” She grinned a bit, letting out a faint purr. Life Spark seemed to be more active now, running around her scales, almost playing with the wind around her. The cub continued to beat her wings steadily, staying alert, in case the wind suddenly changed.

Re: In the Air Tonight (Beh)
Play? Was hitting me with its tail play? The angry thought buzzed through Theo's head like a bee in a blind rage stinging the logic center the most. The thought that a simple shift in the wind caused its tail to hit him was chased away by the angry bee before it even entered his mind.
Theo decided to take the offensive in this clash of winged creatures. He swooped down under the beast and brought the sharp tip of his staff into the beast underbelly, hoping to slash through as many vital organs as possible. The tip simply glanced off what appeared to be plates of some hard substance. He continued with his flight under the creature, and when he was behind the beast he twisted his body and beat his wings upward several times so he was hovering above it. He attempted to latch onto the creature by grabbing its fur but electricity shocked his hand and he continued up to the middle of the wings. He brought the section of hard tangled roots in his staff down to where the beast's back and wing connected, hoping to damage the joint. He kicked off the beast and as he flew away he swung his staff at the skin on the wing with the joint he had left untouched. After kicking off the beast he was directly in front of the its face. He rapped the kncukle of his middle finger against the beast's forehead and smiled at the beast's surprised expression. His wings curled around him and he fell quickly, his body reaching terminal velocity and hurtling him towards the approaching forest at a constant speed. |

Re: In the Air Tonight (Beh)
(OoC: I hope this is ok.)
BiC: She felt some pain near her wings, and felt something cut into a part of her skin. Shaking off her sudden shock, she dived down towards the odd human. So, he play rough… Ok, fine with me. Life Spark reacted quickly, surging towards her paws and tail as she fell at him. The winged human turned to look up at her, readying his wooden weapon. Once she got closer, the cub swiped at him, only to watch him fly around her, striking her in the shoulder. “That’s all you got, beast?” Her tail lashed at him, and connected, Amberstone knew it because of the clink sound and his sudden wince. Taking advantage of his pause, the gargoyle turned and swiped at the winged human again, her claws scratching on his armor. He pushed her back, and she fell towards the ground, but stopped herself by turning to the right and opening her wings again. The gargoyle started to fly up towards him, growling in anger and happiness, since she was still learning how to fight in mid-air.

Re: In the Air Tonight (Beh)
(OoC: That was fine.
)Seeing the mass of metal and fur flying at high speed towards him it would be a bit of an understatement to say he was scared. He barreled to his right to avoid the beast. He looked to his left and saw the beast had also turned. It flew slightly below him and it looked like it was about to take a good sized bite out of him. He swung his staff at the beast but before it connected he felt a pain in his right wing as the beast's teeth sunk into the mass of flash and feathers. Fueled with anger, the blow from his staff, which hit the beast between the eyes, was stronger than usual. Her eyes crossed and they both began to descend slowly, Theo for his lack of flight support on one side and Amberstone for the temporary knockout. They fell into the mass of leaves and wood in a tangled jumble but after several seconds of breaking branches and rustling leaves the branches began to get thicker and the two separated, Amberstone taking the chunk of Theo's wing with her. Theo's face was just barely out of the ground but the small space was good enough for him to breath. Blood pulsed out of his wing freely but with a slight energy deduction and a wave of his hand later the wing regained its former appearance. After a few test flaps Theo saw his wing would need time to recover before he could fly. Theo went about making sure his presence there would be undetectable. He covered the patch of bloody ground with leaves and then poured a "liquid" around the entire area to mask the scent. After finding his staff, which was stuck in a low tree branch, he ran in a northerly direction, ducking under branches and jumping around trees. |

Re: In the Air Tonight (Beh)
Amberstone came to within a bush, some broken branches around her. She slowly got up, tearing the bush apart, and wincing at some pain that came from her hind legs. She moved one at a time to see if they were broken, but thankfully, they were not. The gargoyle spat out the mass of feathers in her mouth, before sniffing at it. Hm…
Her ears swiveled around, before catching the breaking of branches nearby. “Too common in a place like this…” The cub slowly looked around, before walking in a random direction; north, straight in front of her. “Wonder where the human went to…?”

Re: In the Air Tonight (Beh)
After several minutes of running through the forest Theo thought his wing might be up for a flight. He climbed up a tree to the very tip and then jumped in the air as high as he could. He flapped his wings but the one he'd healed earlier erupted with fiery pain. He clenched his jaw and flapped again but the wing went limp and he beganhis fall to the ground. He batted away some of the branches with his staff but most smacked against him. He fell and where he lay he heard the sound of deep breathing. He looked up to see the beast that bit his wing earlier walking through the branches.
Of all the luck, Theo thought as he pushed himself up and ran in the opposite direction of the beast. He held his staff so it brushed aside any branches in front of him and looked back every few seconds to see if the beast was chasing him. |

Re: In the Air Tonight (Beh)
(OoC: Sorry that it's short/ or is bad. I'm coming out of what I think is a small writer's block... Sorry.)
Amberstone caught something in her sight, but it vanished quickly into the forest. It didn’t look like another creature… maybe that odd human…? The sound of breaking branches forced her to break into a jog after it. After a moment, a bit of moonlight helped her to see what she was following. It is the human. She purred as the gargoyle continued to trot after him.

Re: In the Air Tonight (Beh)
(Warning: Written during writer's block. =/)
Theo glanced back and saw the creature following him. A branch slipped through his staff's defense and whacked him in the right cheeck when he turned and he called out in pain. The sound echoed around the trees and several woodland creatures called back, including the large one behind him with a amused purr. Theo picked up speed and grabbed a vine infront of him. It carried him up to a branch near the middle of a tree. He grabbed the branch and after a moment of no movement it broke away from the trunk. Theo did his best to get as much bark as possible off the newly-made weapon as the vine swung him back towards Amberstone. Lifting his legs up to avoid the beast's teeth, he let go of the vine. He sailed through the air and he let his wings out to slow him down. The beast snapped at his foot but Theo brought it back so the creature's fangs only knicked his toe. Taking, advantage of the beast's momentary vulnerability he stabbed it's nose with the tree branch. The sharp tip plunged into the middle of the beast's nose and slashed upward slightly as momentum carried Theo forward. Silver blood spurted from the beast's nose and got on Theo's forearm. The blood, thick with mucus, burned his arm and Theo let go of his wooden weapon in shock. Momentum continued to carry him over Amberstone and he landed, on his back, behind the beast. He jumped to his feet and began running. He rubbed rocks and dirt from his wings as he prepared for flight. |

Re: In the Air Tonight (Beh)
Tugging the branch out, more blood spilled past her mouth, as she momentarily looked at him in shock. In a second, anger replaced it, and a loud roar splattered the silver liquid into the air. A faint spark came off of the droplets before they moved past her, as the gargoyle darted after Theo.
The faint moonlight through the tree tops blurred as she ran after him, the forest becoming just a black wall almost while she hopped left and right, narrowly hitting some trees. Eventually, the odd human reached an open field, and instantly flew off, away from the raging cub below. Her wings shattered and the scales rose after him, arcing with electricity, and swarmed around him like angry hornets. He managed to dodge the random launching of her Life Spark, and rose higher into the air. Amberstone shook her head, and scattering more of her blood onto her face, sliding down her scales and some clung to her fur. It appeared to be a light gray in the moonlight, but her fur was actually beige. The scales darted back to her wings, and quickly formed into the leather skin that normally is between the fingers in her wings, before jumping into the air. A growl came out of her mouth as she was intent on pursuing Theo, this ‘game’ being over, due to her rage.

Re: In the Air Tonight (Beh)
Not so fun when you get hit, is it? Theo thought as he flew higher into the air at a quick pace.
His wing sometimes hurt when he beat and with the lack of thermals that was irritating but otherwise his flight continued. Theo turned around and was startled that he hadn't out-flewn the beast yet. Maybe his wing was costing him more than he thought... He shook the negative thoughts from his head and tilted his body up. He began climbing higher and higher into the sky. The beast followed him just as before, blood trickling down onto its face and down its body. When Theo reached a signifigant height he fliiped himself upside-down and curled his wings around his body. He held his staff out so that it pointed down at the ground. Shock filled with beast's eyes and it brought in its own wings in an attempt to dodge. Too bad for the creature, Theo had gained a signifigant amount of momentum. Coupled with the enchanted tip and the great speed of free-fall Theo's staff cut the gargoyle's right hind leg. It roared in anger andas Theo fell past the angered beast it slashed at him with it's sharp claws. They cut his left thigh and a bit of the wing on the same side. Blood emerged and the cool night air chilled his leg to the exposed bone. He let out his wings and began to fly to the east, in hopes of escaping the beast and finding a place to rest. |
