Okay... after much concideration I have decided to set this thread up. If you don't know what a battle rap is, it is kind of like poetry, but poetry that disses another person. The words you use in the battle are representing "fists" used to beat the other person.

You use your knowledge of the other person to diss them in a number of lines that rhyme. Rap does not always have to diss, but for this tournaments purposes... you will. All you have to be is a poet that can improvise ^^.

Once we get enough members (it will have to be an even number, so the match-ups will work correctly), the tournament will begin. Feel free to pre-plan what you will say to the other person. Who goes first is determined at random by me, and since I don't know many of you, you can be sure I am not byast or anything in the choosing of who goes first.

Leeching is perfectly acceptable in these raps. Leeching is when you use what the other person said against him/her. Leeching is normally something that the person who goes second would do. Going second is normally a good thing, but is not always a good thing.

If you choke and drop out because you don't know what to say against a person, your partener moves on to the next round by default.

You may have a maximum of 20 lines in your battle rap/poem, and if you pass that you will be disqualified. Passing 20 lines is considered going over your time limit. You are free to go under it, though.

When you have had your partener selected, I will determine who will go first and that person will post in the thread that I made for that match-up. One match-up will happen at a time. After the first person has posted his/her battle rap, the second person will post his or hers. After the two are done battling, we will have a poll deciding who had the better rap, or did a better job on overall skill of rapping/rhyming/dissing.

The person who has the most votes moves on to the next round. The match-ups for the second round will be the winner of the first match-up and the second match-up, etc. down the list.

Here are the tournament match-ups:

At the beginning of each match I will use a VB program to "toss a coin", or pick a number between 1 and 2, 1 being Heads and 2 being Tails. The person on the top will represent #1, and the bottom is #2. If the number that the "coin" lands on is your number, you can pick who will rap first.

Example: Sear would be #1 (heads) and Andi would be #2 (tails).

you want us to diss people of with the knowledge what we know of them kinda..? Isn't that quite offencive? It wouldnt be that bad if you were only to diss that person of, but saying things taht you know about them and such, that might be a bit offencive I tihnk o,ô

No you don't have to reveal personal information about someone if you know it. It is not offensive I assure you, it's just for fun purposes.

I am sure that if you both agreed to a match like this, you BOTH agreed, no one should be offended, unless you think that it is not okay to dispence the information and they will feel embarassed. But to answer you question Peefy, it is not offencive, its a good, clean, dissing rap. Me and my friend do this all the time, and we always get a good laugh about haw lame our disses are, and we dis each other by saying how we can't dis...it's actually pretty funny, and not as offencive, just watching you friend saying "You think you can beat me?", and when they don't dis you good you just laugh and tell them to go home and WRITE DOWN YOUR DISSES....

here is the rules to saying something you know about them.. their name, their avy maybe, sig, and their post as a leech. thats the info you can use, dont use IRL info. you can do background info to, say they made a dumb post that everyone knows about, or alot of people commented on. that too. nothing too personal, IE. my whole threat phone call deal irl back in september, would be too personal. this way no one is offended.

I think dissing Sigs and Avies would be a bad idea, basically i would think you would just make up some stuff about the other person, whether it be real or not. Making stuff up about your opponent would be better, and when someone crosses the line, you can just tell them to stop.

If someone really does cross the line, they will get voted out. I don't think dissing at sigs and avys will get you brownie points here, as that would not be a powerful enough diss. Kazan makes a good point, make stuff up. Something that you could diss to anyone about, and something that will psyke them out.

Remember, the people are going to vote on who's rap was better, so if you think the persons rap was offensive, then don't vote for them. The rappers are NOT allowed to vote in their match, because obviously they will vote for themselfs.

As of now since there are only 5 entrants the pairings are going to be a little weird. If we stay at only 5 people, one person will sit out until the first match is over, then play the winner of the first match. It will be that way unless we get 8 people.

so would the bracket look like this:


i hope that comes out right, you can just fill in names that you draw out, and place them on the left, the winner of the two who are matched up moves on, and then so on

EDIT: nvm, it doesn't work, if you know what a tournament bracket looks like then you'll know what i'm talking about.

I say we get this thing rolling with 6 people, me and gc will auto matically be entered in the first round. now, 2 of u, get to skip one round. which 2? I dno. I suggest someone offers to start so it can get goin. I'll PM each of u about the update.

Maybe there should be 3 groups of two, and then the final can be between three people, maybe that could be an idea.

that'd be too hard.. i have seen one attempt to be started at another forum once.. and the mods totally told them no because they tried it, and it was "the dumbest thing they had ever wasted their time reading and doing"
