Unfimiliar Similarities (CourageWielder, bj, Selah, and Wolfen)
OOC: So, here's the thread! ^_^ I'll be using Julia Anne, and the others will be using whomever they wish. Seeing how I'm not the only person in this battle, the others are allowed to come up with their own set of rules, guidelines, etc.
But, for now.. let us begin! ---- Meeting at the Beginning The roaring of a helicopter created some kind of lively stirr in a once lifeless place, as it's blades orbitted, the humming beast coming to a dilatory landing in the front yard of an abandoned building. With it's dusty windows, worn paint, and lawn of weed, the place had aged without much consideration taken to it's appearance, and as the blades of the helicopter ceased to move, the inquiring eyes inside couldn't help wondering how many years it's been since a person last occupied it. One set of eyes, however, looked at the house as if it had something it was hiding. Julia Anne, comfortably strapped in an eternal hug looked at the house with sympathy, as if it were a puppy kicked and left to starve. The pilot removed his equipment with noise and looked back at Julia, only to meet her eyes, whereupon looking quickly away, suddenly becoming uncomfortable. He coughed momentairly, and spoke with a smooth husky voice, "Ma'am." Julia gracefully bowed her head, as the two guards on both sides of her unbuckled thier seatbelts in an periodic pattern, reaching over to help Julia with her own. In a matter of a few moments, Julia's feet had touched ground for the first time in over twelve hours, and her hair was a tassle of tangly greasy mess above her head. The same guards appeared again on both sides of her and guided her like a blind man to the very front gates, "Can we help you with anything else, Miss Anne?" "No." It was a habitual cloudy day; fields of moldy yellow grass stretched out for miles only hitting an old barn and barren dead like trees on the way, with no lushes vegetation close by or even the insects working at thier routine actions of pollination. One could only assume that it was late autumn, and the few cinnamon brown leaves that kicked up with the slighest hint of wind could tell you that winter would be around the corner very shortly, and the approaching winter season was biting at the tip of Julia's nose as the three bodies entered the gates. "Would you like for us to loosen the straps for you, Miss?" one of the guards spoke up. He was about six feet and very langy, with his bony joints protruding from the elbows and knees of his suit, wearing the frabric thin. His counterpart, the man on the other side of Julia stood about average height with a blank tank top on and sweats. He wasn't much for 'dress to impress'. It didn't matter regardless, though, with his built figure, the ladies didn't mind what he wore. His head was shaven and he had one set of amazingly cyan coloured eyes. The cage closed mechancily behind them. Julia looked back, and for a few moments said nothing, until both guards looked to her, "What's wrong?" "Don't forget my duck."

OoC: lol, I laughed at the last part. Well, I'll use DC in this one, seeing as I don't use her too often.
BiC: "Stop, theif!" Guards and police officers were running down the old trial, looking for something. Finally running into the grassy banks of the forest's river, they stopped. "Where'd she go," one guard asked, baffled. "Well, if the little brat jumped into the river, I'll be happy. One less hooligan to chase," the other officer replied, smirking and kicking a rock into the river below. CLimbing out of the bone chilling currents was hard, but Dylin managed. She dragged herself to its banks, rolling over and looking at the cliff from which she had jumped. "Losers," Dylin laughed, before unzipping her pocket and removing a bag of chips, opeing them and beginning to eat. After a short while, the warrior stood up, dusted herself off, and began to walk along the river's edge. By the time she had found a spot to rest, it was almost sunset. Looking at the meloncholy building, Dylin shrugged. "Well, this place will have to do, broken down or not." Climbing up to the bank, she saw that the building had a fence around the perimeter. "These people really liked to keep others out," Dylin smirked, climbing over it and dropping to the ground a few feet below.

OoC: Mitya can be found in my sig. Recover your CJs soon, Wolfen, :<
IC: When Mitya stood before one of windows of the lonely building, and gazed through the dirt of its lower-most panes, he could see the world curving down into the horizon: a sea of winter grass falling off the edge of earth; stretches of blighted copse verged upon a cosmic sea. And if he stood still of body, still of mind, he could feel the world churning beneath his bare feet, beneath the broken floorboards, like a sea. Or perhaps that was just the dizziness that accompanied a lack of sleep. The house had been swimming about him ever since he arrived; he found he could not turn, could not bend without his vision misaligning, his eyelids drooping. Not even fascination—drawing his fingers through the chalky white dust on the floor; tracing old rust as it had once dripped down the glass; pushing against the floorboards and finding them rotten and yielding—could dissuade his body from sagging as though it would fall in upon itself. He had over exterted himself, trying to soak in the old, ruined beauty of the house when he should have lain himself down and slept. But the house, in all its ruin and desolation, spoke to something buried within him. Its dust was an old, familiar friend; the damp, fetid walls sweet as companions, sweet as fine memories. It is not the building itself that spoke to him - the fact it is abandoned, unkempt, and a creature of solitude upon a sea of grass stirred his adoration. And he knew the moment that he shut his eyes and slept, the Slumber would take his adoration from him. And so he chose to meander about, awake. He had not been here long, half an hour at the most. He had entered planning only to hide himself and sleep - the house was the only building in sight, and he preferred that if the Slumber should take him, he be indoors, safe and hidden from the elements. He had not slept, of course, and his decision to stay awake was beginning to take its toll. For he only now heard the thwap-thwap-thwapping of something approaching from outside. He slid over to a window, and levered himself onto his tiptoes, that he might glance over the ledge into the yard. There, just beyond the gate, an enormous something was landing. It reminded him of a dragonfly, with metal wings protruding from its head and spinning rather than beating up and down. He stared at it, intrigued. But even more intriguing were the people within.

“Yes, sorry ma’am.” The first guard spoke, as he embarrassingly went back and held the gate open as if letting some invisible force make its way through; which fit accordingly to Julia’s mind. The second guard, the cyan eyed man glanced back and fourth from the gate to Julia, and as he noticed her expression lighten he shook his hand and soon enough the three of them continued on their established path which lead them directly to the front door.
The two doors were dark orchid, but quickly losing its last coat of paint which revealed wood that would remind you of nothing less than an old man’s face, his skin wedged together from age, that showed no expression. Two brass knobs protruded from the center that wouldn’t move even if you oiled them. The first guard found this out when he went to grasp the knob and accomplished nothing, “We can’t get through this way, ma’am.” “No, we can’t.” Julia spoke gently, she always seemed to have that tone stuck in her throat, regardless of what she was expressing, “But there are people inside that can let us in.” The two guards exchanged nervous glances, despite the reputation that Julia had for saying eerie things in the most uncanny of situations. The house was big, and planted in the near-dead country side, which was the perfect painting for anyone wanting to snag an undisturbed night’s sleep, or a refuge from something they’ve been trying to escape. Julia looked up and down the windows, panels, and doors and her eyes ended the search when she met the chocolate brown eyes of a familiar feathered friend, Duck, “What do you think, Duck?” “It’s hard to say, Miss.” Duck spoke as gently as his owner, “But, I am afraid to say that both companies are aware of your arrival.” “And why would you think that so?” Julia questioned, her eyes back to scrutinizing the house, “They can’t happen to read minds, can they?” “Well, no Miss.” The duck answered, “However, it could be that you arrived, rather noisily in a big flying contraption, that I’m sure reverberated its piercing sound waves in –at least- a five hundred meter radius.” Julia took a moment to answer, “Both companies, you say?” “Yes.” Julia turned around, and gave both of her guards’ brief gazes, “Excuse me good sirs, but I would like it if the both of you circled the house, looking for any possible entry way, and when you do, please report back to me.”

The young mage heard talking outside of the huge house. Great, she thought to herself, people who are actually alive are here. Let's hope they're not those dumb*** guards that were chasing me. Tuning into the conversation that was taking place, she heard a girl's voice commanding them around.
"It sounds like they're coming around here sooner or later, so, let's make it later, shall we?" As Dylin said this, a small fire began to smoke on the ground, a couple hundred yards up the cliff. "Now, I want to see you get through that," the mage added with a smirk. Looking up at the steep cliff edge, she began to climb it steadily, slipping a couple of times. A few mintues later, the warrior landed at the top, looking at the fire with satisfaction. Climbing to the window on all fours, Dylin swept her hand to the left and created a bone chilling current of air that lightly, but noisily, pushed the window into the mansion. Looking behind her with both ears attuned, Dylin shrugged and climbed the heaping junk pile that was the mansion and jumoed through the newly made hole, looking around.
