Re: R. I. P. Duke of Clubs

I can't view it on this comp, Rad, but I'm sure any tribute is fitting.

To those who knew him well enough to miss him--live on and use the best of what you learned from him to make the world a better place.

Re: R. I. P. Duke of Clubs

Reading his previous RPs makes me cry, sadly enough. He was such a wonderfull person which we all should remember eternally.

For God's Sake, I believe Duke Of Clubs deserves an Award for this horrible event.

Not for this event--for what he did prior to it in retrospective spite of the event. Right? :0)

Much thanks for your kind words

Hello, I new Jared (a.k.a Duke) from School, he was actually my best friend. I just read the posts on Jared's guestbook on Chron.com, and I just wanted to thank you all for posting those kind, loving words. All of us appreciate that very much. I understand that some of you were close to Jared through this website, which is why I decided to join. His family is very shaken up right now, but they appreciate all the kind words that have been said regarding Jared. We are just so heartbroken right now. Everything seems empty now, and I have realized how trivial so many things are, things that used to be so important. He loved you all so much, and you were all such a big part in developing his poetic writing style. As I am sure you all know, he finished his novel on Christmas Day, and emailed it to a few of us. We are currently considering getting the novel edited and published, and a fantastic cover for the novel was created by one of Jared's fellow best friends. He called his novel "Shadows". If any of you ever wishes to talk about Jared, or trade pictures or stories, or anything, please, just email me at sproutbond@hotmail.com. I am not sure whether or not his parents are aware of this website, but I will find an opportunity to let them know about it. I am so grateful that I found this site and I have joined it with the goal of getting closer to those who knew Jared (however disappointing the circumstances may be). I would really appreciate it if you could all email me his stories and whatnot, as I would love to collect them and make them into a book to give to his family. I would also like to collect all of your comments about Jared, and any stories that you all may have, and give those to his family as well. Please email me for anything, I am desperate to talk to anyone who had ANY connection with Jared, even if you did not know him well. If any of you have a Facebook, please let me know and I will supply you with my information to make it easier for you to talk with me and get access to pictures and stories of Jared. And to you, Jared-my best friend, my brother-in-arms, my co-conspirator, my family-I just wanted to say that no amount of words could ever do your memory justice or honor you enough. I miss you so much, man. And I love you so much, and that will never change, from now until the end of time. Don't forget to come visit! With love, Connor.

Ah, a fitting title for the novel, from what I've read so far. I'm glad he came up with one eventually. ^^;;

Also, I'm very happy to hear someone made him a cover. I sort of joked once (although I really would have liked to do it) about possibly drawing him one, but he never got a chance to give me descriptions and he didn't want to spoil some things he might have wanted on the cover that I hadn't gotten to in the story yet...

Thank you for posting. I've already compiled some of his writings from here, and...you'll find an email from me soon.

Re: R. I. P. Duke of Clubs

I didn't know Duke of Clubs well, and I'm sorry I didn't. I always enjoyed reading his writing - the personality that illuminated every word, the humour that made his posts such a joy to read - and this event just seems like one of those things that shouldn't happen, can't happen - and yet it does, and it has. I've been numb since I first saw this thread, and I've only now worked up the courage to speak, though my words are few and meager. My prayers go out to his family, and everyone who knew and loved him.

Re: R. I. P. Duke of Clubs

Though I didn't know Duke very well at all, I'm deeply saddened by this news. It's one of those things that you never think will happen. When Safer first told me, I was in shock, and I'm only just now able to post in here. Even now, I really can't think of anything to say. I'd be interested in reading his novel whenever it gets published. My prayers are with his friends and family.

Wow... Like most people I can tell, I didn't really know him either.

I only just heard of this now.
I can't really say anything about it, but the fact that it happened.

Just kinda sucks. >.>

R.I.P., Duke. I've talked to you maybe once...and it really is a tragedy that you're gone.

I never knew the guy, but it sounds like he was a wonderful person who shall be missed. It sounds like his tree of youth was cut down before it had a chance to blossom, and I shall mourn this tragic loss of life cut short.

May his final slumber be a peaceful one.

Re: R. I. P. Duke of Clubs

I never knew Duke, I don't even know Altamira, in all honesty, I found this forum by mere happenstance, in someones signature, but having read it, I can already tell the world lost someone great who could have really made a lot of good things happen. Strong-willed, prided, but not egotistical, a very positive guy. Like I said, I never knew him, but reading some of his posts and ideas, I really wish I had.

Re: R. I. P. Duke of Clubs

wow... I- I never knew him. but just reading that tribute at the beginning pulls my heart strings. sounds like he was a great guy. I, like skull kid, came upon this by accident, but... it's so awful and I don't think anybody would play a joke like this. a life tragically cut short. how old was he? by what i've seen, he was only 16. it just... makes you think doesn't it? how precious life and friends are? am I wasting my life on this site, when I could be doing succesful things, studying, homework? whatever the answer, Rest In peace, Duke of clubs.

I... I'm so sorry.

I just recently joined ZU, less than a month ago. I never knew him. But looking at his posts... he was great. I can't imagine the pain you guys were feeling when you heard this news.

*A moment of silence, please.*

Let us all pray to our God, Gods, or gods. Let us pray for the well-being of his friends and family, that they may get through this horribly sad time knowing that he is happy where he is now.

*In a completely non-joking fashion, takes off hat and bows head.*

Rest In Peace, Duke of Clubs.
