R. I. P. Duke of Clubs

As I come out yet another sea of inactivity, I see this thread, and having known the name and not the man behind it makes me truly regret not getting to know him. Although he surely didn't know who I was (as most of you don't), I certainly know that he must have been one of the most amazing people on this rock we call home. I sincerely send my condolences and sympathies to all of you who truly knew him.

It is definitely terrible to hear of such tragic news. I heard just tonight and was startled when I heard someone so young had moved on. It is certainly not fair, and I offer my deepest regards to his family and friends. I met him only on a few occasions, and I deeply regret not getting to know him better. If that book of his ever manages to publish, I swear on my honor I'll be the first in line to buy that thing. May you rest in eternal love and peace...

I, too, would like to see his novel. I will buy it when it comes out in stores, but I would like to see it anyways.

I just looked at his profile for the first, and probably last time. It just looked so...normal. As though I'd come back tomorrow and he'd be online and preparing another post for one of his RP's. It's way too much to take in...*Bows head in respect*

I never knew who this person was, but this is really sad and it makes me wonder if any other ZU members have died without our knowing...
I pray comfort over his family and those grieving.

He better be going some place good, because he bloody deserves it. We'll all miss him, even if we didn't know him all to well.

As much as I am in a sad mood, currently. I never really knew Duke of Clubs personally. I had seen him around quite a few times, though.

This whole thread saddens me, and makes me go completely off track. Duke deserves the respect he gets from all ZU member.

I didn't know him at all, and yet looking at all these posts, I'm absolutely sure he was a wonderful guy, and I truly wish I could have been active in the BA when he was around.

There's nothing else I can really say, due to a lack of knowledge about him, but I do wish his family and the friends the best, and I hope he has found peace, wherever he is now.

My sincerest condolences.

I did not know Duke of Clubs personally, but what I do know is that he was such an awesome, loving, delightful person with amazing talents. Just reading about this made me cry, honestly no one deserves such a tragedy. I feel incredibly sorry for him and his family, and those who were close to him such as some members here. I hope you all get through this okay.

Thank you for sharing your talents with us all. I really do hope you're having a nice time in a better place.

Kika, I was a part of the BA the whole time he was here, and yet I never rped or talked with him.

Unfortuantly Wolfen, you're not the only one. Now I regret not asking Duke for a battle . . . and now, I'll never have the chance to.

I'm sure a lot of people feel that way.

But, at the same time, it really puts in perspective our lives, not just in real life, but with others, at the BA. It really shows how we shouldn't pass off a potential friendship with someone. That's what I did. There are MANY people who I would love to rp with, but I've never taken the initiative to start it. And for the people I'm currently rping with, I always pass off posting as "I'll do it tomorrow" or "I can't think of anything". We keep passing off these attempts at friendship until the chance disappears.

I'm not going to lie and say that I knew Duke of Clubs, because I didn't...but from what I've read, he seemed like a really awesome personality and a really awesome person, overall. Death always seems like no big deal when it's on TV, or a movie, but when it hits, it is devastation. I've had an experience somewhat like this, except it was suicide; a friend of mine from our Boy Scout troop committed suicide because his dream was completely crushed. I know Duke didn't commit suicide, but the meaning of it shines through; death is a horrible, terrible thing, and, though he wasn't a friend nor an enemy of mine, I will give remembrance to him, because I know how all of you must feel, especially those who were close friends to him, who had battles with him, who laughed and cried and reminisced with him.
