Shattering and Mending Worlds {Itsuya, Kitsuné, Zorolo and Sweet Simplicity}
OoC: I’ll be using my character Timaeus. Link in sig. Posting order: None for now, but once everyone has posted the first time round, that'll be the order. EDIT: HiitokiriChibi will be taking Zorolo's place.
Post Order: 1._ 2._ 3._ 4._ 5._Preservoir BiC: Night now had a firm grip over the land, sending all into shadow. Slithers of wind crawled around trees and leaves and monoliths of rock. Ghoulish spirits floated or walked along the land of the sleeping. This night was darker than the others, almost as if it emitted shadow, and stole away the light. The streets were prowled by fiendish daemons, and the forests were riddled with malevolent forces of nature that took no physical form. Amidst the darkness there stood a gothic cathedral. Not only were there gargoyles perched on the rooves, but small rock-creatures came alive and crawled across the walls. Next to the door of the cathedral stood a large oak tree that spread its canopy wide over many feet of sodden earth. Lichen had crept its way through the cracks in the ancient’s skin. It creaked and sighed. In response, a deep rumbling came from the walls of the cathedral. Rocks and moss were sucked from the cathedral’s walls and floors, while lichen and leaves dropped from the oak. One towering mass, seven feet tall, formed at the front of the cathedral’s locked doors. It was recognisably human, and soon formed a head, which scowled. Next to the oak there lay a young, beautiful woman. The rock-spirit offered its hand, and helped the woman to her bare feet. She was slim and curved, with bright green eyes and deep auburn hair. She wore a brown shift that was decorated with leaf patterns on the hems. She opened her soft, pink lips and spoke, “Thank you, Heidrom. It’s been some time.” “Yes it has, young Aethidrial. Come, and we shall complete our mission.” Heidrom’s voice was deep and rasping. He shuddered, and a fire-lamp sprouted from his back, pointing over his shoulder, and lit itself. “I will light the way.” **** Dawn broke in the east, sending golden rays into the sky, shredding through clouds and illuminating the world. Shadows were cast by an innumerable amount of rocks and slabs, some up to ten, twenty feet tall. They were gravestones. And this was a graveyard. Spirits still walked the forest paths, but here, in the light, they ran and hid in the earth or in tress, or simply vanished into thin air. The air was still and spacious. Around the dark gravestones there were gardens and hedges and benches and fountains. On one bench there was a crumpled figure, like a chessboard rolled into a ball. Next to it there was a shield, leaning on the bench. The man stirred and sat up, rubbing his eyes. His blurred vision took in the figures of the gravestones and the trees. Then his eyes settled on the cathedral that stood, looming in the sunlight like a stain, above him. Where...? Timaeus stood as his vision cleared. He fumbled around and strapped Jeika to his right arm. The Angel looked at himself and ran his hands through his robes. He was wet. He was soaked through, for no apparent reason. There’s no sign of rain...How? This is very awkward. Timaeus shook himself, removing most of the water. He ruffled his hair to prevent it hugging his neck. He wondered over to the gravestones and observed the world. One gravestone in particular caught his eye. It was at the opposite end of the courtyard from the cathedral. It was at least fifteen feet tall, a statue of a man in armour holding a sword. It was pointing straight at the image of a weeping angel on the stained glass windows of the cathedral’s back end. Timaeus ran his hand along the plinth that the statue stood upon. It was smooth and unweathered, unlike the rest of the statue. By the knight’s feet there was a small pendant set into the stone. It was a golden circle set onto a silver square, whose corners just poked out at the top and bottom. In the centre of the circle there was a man. Da Vinci? What in the hells? Wrong universe. Something’s wrong here. It’s more than just awkward. Just as Timaeus’s fingers hovered above the symbol, about to touch it, thunder rolled in the skies. Timaeus looked up to see what had once been a blue sky become overcast in an instant, with lightning streaking through the clouds and thunder roaring in them. Then the rain poured down. The ground shook, and small spirits began crawling from the earth. The rock-creatures emerged on the cathedral’s surface and began swarming towards Timaeus. He swung Jeika, crushing several of the small gargoyles. The dust clumped back together to form a larger gargoyle. “...Crap...” Timaeus whispered, but he continued to swing his shield and blast the daemons away with fire, but darkness just strengthened them. Eventually he had crept backwards towards the wall of trees that was the edge of the forest. He went in, still facing the oncoming hoard. He slipped in the mud, landing on his back. The creatures loomed over him. Then he jumped to his feet and ran. It was all he could do. **** Meanwhile, in the graveyard, the man slipped from the pendant and took physical form. He screeched, and the gardens, gravestones and earth began dragging towards him. They clumped together, until he was whole again. Only the knight was left. Maegitrauk unfolded fully, his eight arms brandishing swords of water, fire and earth. His red eyes glowed as he look beyond the graveyard fence, down the hill. And there was a stained valley, full of gravestones and darkness. “I am coming...siblings...” EDIT:OoC: I changed the posting order. EDIT: This, as I have discovered, is too difficult to reply to. As a result of this, I'm re-starting the thread to make it easier for my crossroads compatriots, who have now changed a tad. My apologies go out to all the sick little Kenyan children in the world.
