Re: I'm up for a fight... (open)

lets just fight in this thread

start fight:

Insane Warrior walks into a small bar in a small desert town. As he walks up to the bar, he attracts a lot of attention for his full body black cloak. He sits at the bar and is about to order a drink when he feels a powerful presence. The crystal sword concealed at his side tingles like a fifth limb going numb. He reaches for the staff slung over his back...

Re: I'm up for a fight... (open)

The pale moon shines like a beacon in the desert, a single pin of light which pierces through the enveloping darkness, breaking it’s stranglehold of the pitch-black desert. Long, foreboding shadows are cast across, as if the darkness desperately attempts to escape from the lunar brightness. It is this beacon that guides lost travellers in the wasteland to a small town, like some lifeless ghost trapped forever within the confines of a cell, and it will do so for many years ahead.

* * *

05412-A6 uncurled his twitching body, cold sweeping his senses away. He was amazed at how such a horrid and barren place could be so hot one moment and so cold the next. He sniffed at the air slightly. The wind blew in his favour, and because he caught the scent of exactly what he was desiring immediately upon waking so suddenly.

Man flesh.

He grinned, a long line of spittle hanging down from his greedy maw. It had been some time since he had eaten anything decent, and he was growing thin. He couldn’t get much of a workout as well, what with the inferior meals he’d been having recently, and he had been fearing for his skills – they’d grown rusty over this famine, and he needed a good way to test them, to exercise them. Well, it looked like he’d have his chance.

He instantly sprung up from his bottom and ran in his unique wolf-like fashion low over the cracked desert ground, which was littered with ancient skeletons, rocks, and the occasional struggling vegetation, but his feet ignored these, their souls hardened. He had never worn shoes.

Then, he saw it – silhouetted against the illustrious blue moon’s light was the town. Or more accurately, a shell of a town. The buildings were cracked and decrepit. The only thing that seemed to show any sign of life was a small mud and brick building which was in a state of disrepair like the others. However, it was dressed in the meek light of a nearby torch, which beckoned passers-by to enter. A sign, old and splintered, hung from the door frame, portraying only a beer mug. 04512-A6 ran across the ground to the side of the structure and peeked around the corner.

A dark figure emerged from the doorway, it’s form masked by the darkness. It seemed to grow calm as a rare wind passed through the ghost town, the buildings letting out a weary sigh as it rattled their torn frames.

It was then that the figure whipped around, cloak billowing in the breeze, the sound of metal clanking, and the moon opposite it causing it’s eyes to shimmer with a surreal blue light…

Re: I'm up for a fight... (open)

Insane Warrior looked over the small, seemingly pathetic creature (or was it a man?) before him. It didn't move under his stare. It (or he?) just stared back into the dark shadows created by the hood of Insane Warrior's cloak. A drop of spittle fell from 05412-A6's mouth and splattered on the dusty ground. Insane Warrior began to move around 05412-A6 to get a better look at him, and that set him (or it) off.

05412-A6 jumped on the small cloaked figure and began attacking with fingernails like claws. The black cloth covering was tougher than it should be. He ripped at it with his teeth, trying to get at the soft creature inside. He sniffed, realizing something. This prey has no scent! The smell of man flesh still wafted from the building, but not from this creature he fought. 05412-A6 was driven by this. He had to find out what this small, scentless creature was.

Insane Warrior expertly swung his staff, knocking his attacker away. He dove straight at 05412-A6 and struck again. The retaliation this time left a slash in his arm. Blood ran down his arm and fell on the ground. Still no scent. 05412-A6 was confused.

Insane Warrior ignored the wound and swung again, flinging 05412-A6 accross the alley into the abandoned building. The wall collapsed. 05412-A6 was unharmed, but a little angry and dusty now. "Like a wild animal..." thought Insane Warrior.

Re: I'm up for a fight... (open)

OoC:04512-A6 isn't technically a human, but he is referred to as a person.

IC: 04512-A6 jumped up from lying on his back and sat in a squat for a moment, eyeing his scentless opponent. What was this? Everything had a smell. Everything. His sense of smell was much more acute than a human’s, and arguably more so than that of other wild creatures. That he could not catch the scent of this cloaked figure was distressing. Were he a human, he wouldn’t be so fearful, but this was different. In a world of overwhelming stenches, the lack of one was disorienting. He grasped his nose with his fingers, seeing if it was clogged. After all, it was cold. Perhaps it was merely running. He knew that it wasn’t, yet he continued to check, blowing his nose as furiously as he could in intervals. Still, this didn’t help.

The wood pole swerved around and contacted the side of his head with a sharp but unharming thunk, bringing the outside world back to him. He was flung against the decrepit ruins of the ancient building, stone crumbling and dropping down from his point of impact. He threw himself onto his feel and barely managed to avoid another assault by the pursuing figure, who was now clearly quite angry. 04512-A6 ran on all fours around the assailant, then kicked at the heels of the man. Despite being somewhat scrawny, 04512-A6 was remarkably strong, much more so than his humble visage might suggest. The kick brought the man tumbling down onto his rear, and 04512-A6 seized the opportunity, jumping on top of the man. He clawed at the open spot on the thick cloak that betrayed only the face of his foe. 04512-A6 fancied a quick look, but the features were lost under a blanket of night. Frustrated, he backhanded the vulnerable foe across his face, long, twisted nails forming their cruel, snaking mark along his flesh. Hot blood hissed out of the wound, and the man grunted. Adrenaline compelled 04512-A6 to another assault, and he complied, striking just like the time before.

On the third strike, the hand never touched the face. His wrist was caught by the man’s thick hand, and was twisted around painfully. 04512-A6 let out a frantic yelp and pushed off of the foe, who instantly rose to his feet and pointed the thick staff towards the creature huddled before him. He took a moment to eye him, then yelled out in fury as he sent his staff driving harshly toward the cowering 04512-A6. It caught him straight in the cheek and flung him backward. He skidded along the torn, cracked ground on his head (thanks, Love Hina :p), throwing pebbles and a cloud of dust into the air.

Re: I'm up for a fight... (open)

OoC: I never acctually said 04512-A6 was human. It was more of a question.

BiC: Insane Warrior took this ooportuinty to pull the blood-soaked hood back over his head. He ran forward and swung downward with a powerful blow that cracked the sturdy dogwood pole. 05412-A6 betrayed no injury but was obviously stunned by the blow. Another swing. It never hit. The pole was wrenched out of Insane Warrior's hands by 05412-A6's jaws.

Insane Warrior shook his head like a dog. Copious amounts of blood sprayed out in every direction, some of it landing on 05412-A6's face. Still no scent! For some reason, this lack of scent angered 05412-A6, and he flung himself on the man.

Insane Warrior took a slash across the ribs. More blood. Now 05412-A6 was really confused. Insane Warrior had bled more than any other creature or man he had ever killed even had, but he was still fighting as if he was unhurt. Insane Warrior threw 05412-A6 off of him and took an inhuman jump to the roof of the bar. As 05412-A6 stared into the shadowed hood from the ground, he caught a glimpse of light reflected off Insane Warrior's eyes. They were solid black.

Sorry, I've been busy studying for exams, though I can guarantee I'll have the post up tomorrow, because I've got a bit of free time for that kind of thing then.

Re: I'm up for a fight... (open)

Black…black…black…

04512-A6 struggled to comprehend such a thing. The eyes…they were gleaming and moist like other eyes, but they were as black as pitch, dark as the night sky…and as cold as Death’s own vile and corrupt heart. While they had not been visible before in the darkness, one 04512-A6 actually saw them there, gleaming in the moonlight, he found how horribly piercing, questioning, accusing they were. They had no pupils at all, but there was absolutely no question as to where they were watching, where they were gazing, where they were browsing the shadows and light alike.

This was not right. This wasn’t right at all. Things had eyes, not coals. He struggled desperately to figure how this was at all possible. He had never seen such a thing. It just wasn’t natural. Nothing had such cold, horrible, dead eyes. Nothing.

Perhaps the darkness was playing tricks on him. After all, he was somewhat tired from waking up earlier, and panting from the fighting. The moonlight didn’t reveal everything. Shadows were still cast where the light was, and shadows could hide such things. But as the moon edged along it’s path in the night sky, and the brilliant, blue-white light shifted, there was absolutely no doubt, no doubt at all.

And then 04512-A6 noticed something.

The man had black blood.

EDIT: I'm sorry about the short post, I'm somewhat at a lack for creativity right now. I'm also not too sure about him having black blood, but it makes sense considering everything else is. I can edit if need be.

Re: I'm up for a fight... (open)

OoC: actually, I was going to stick something in here myself about black blood. Have you been reading my mind or something?

BiC: "Yes, black" thought Insane Warrior, sensing 04512-A6's confusion. He picked up a roof tile and tossed it at 04512-A6. 04512-A6 reacted quickly, climbing the trellis to reach the man, no not man, thing that was up there. He dove at Insane Warrior, hoping to kill with this attack so he could see what Insane Warrior really was. His fingernails, sharp and tough like claws, tore into Insane Warrior's chest cavity. His hand went straight out the back, with no organs in the way. No heart? No meaty heart to feast on when the battle was done? He pulled his arm back out, looking at the black blood covering it, when he noticed that Insane Warrior had not so much as flinched when he had an arm stuck through his torso.

"Strange. Is it dead already?" thought 04512-A6. He got his anwer when a swift kick propelled him off the roof onto the hard ground below and was followed by the small figure, who was now holding a sword made of gleaming white crystal, with an unearthly black fire inside it. Blood poured onto the ground and pooled around their feet.

Re: I'm up for a fight... (open)

04512-A6 was frantic right now. He was covered in the horrible, thick, tar-like blood. The vile substance smeared over the ancient walls and cracked ground as attack after relentless attack was made upon the black-blooded freak. Some of it misted through the air like a dark cloud, the tiny droplets catching in the blue moonlight, while more came out in thick, heavy smears which splattered the surrounding area as well as the two combatants. The terrified man pressed harder and harder, trying desperately to destroy the freakish opponent. His body was riddled with holes, scratches, brushes, and bone protruded from several locations.

Yet the blood still flowed.

A sudden blow from the cloaked mutant of a man sent 04512-A6 reeling through the air. The tortured man smashed through several of the decrepit structures before coming to rest in front of the bar’s doorway. He barely had time to recover from the harsh attack when then the beast was instantly upon him, sending stave whistling through the cold air at the huddled figure’s cranium. It failed to make any contact on him, however, for at that moment, a drunkard who had heard the noise outside and gone out to investigate it walked out of the doorway, tripped over the crouching 04512-A6 and caught the staff’s powerful melee across his neck. He sunk to the ground, the effects of alcohol and injury taking their toll on his weary conciousness. 04512-A6 used this opportunity to leap over the unmoving man and backhand his foe fiercely across the cheek. Thick dollops of pitch-coloured blood sprayed out from the wound and trailed magnificently through the air.

Yet the eyes still gleamed.

Kicking off of his face, 04512 scrambled like an animal lowly across the cracked desert ground, not paying attention to the rocks that pierced into the soles of his worn feet. Sweat and blood trailed off behind him, like some frightful streamer of pain and fear. He continued to run, panting harder than he had ever panted. He ran for his life, for his sanity. When he fancied a look behind himself to find the man trailing not far behind, his pace quickened. He turned his head around and screeched to a halt, for before him now stood the same deadly creature that had been behind him just shy of a moment before. Terrified, mortified, petrified 04512-A6 threw himself down to the cracked ground in worship of the demon. Tears flowed freely from his burning eyes, gore seeped from open and unclean wounds, mind reached out desperately to grasp and hold onto whatever fragments of sanity remained.

Yet the mouth still grinned.

Re: I'm up for a fight... (open)

Insane Warrior looked down on the petrifed animal-man before him. If he had still been in his right mind, he would have offered his mercy here; but the berserk rage still gripped him, and swung a kick up to 04512-A6's chin, knocking him backwards. He leaped forward, swinging the crystal blade expertly. 05412-A6 instictively ducked and rolled out of the way; while the bade blasted the building it hit into dust, burying the unconcious drunk. Insane Warrior landed hard. 05412-A6 took this chance to deliver another attack. He ended up with a rib in his mouth, the blood running down his face. He spat it out. It had no taste.
Not only did this freak fighter have no scent, he had no taste. However, the first signs of injury had begun to show on Insane Warrior.
